    Fish tacos

Tiki Grill is perfect spot for lunch when in Flagstaff. We settled on fish tacos and burgers. The fish tacos had very large pieces of fresh fish. I opted for grilled rather than blackened or fried. My friends had burgers and they said it was delicious. Onion rings were on point as well. We would love to come back again. Highly recommend!!

Four stars for the food... five stars for Scott. We wandered into Tiki Grill and ordered the Pittsburgh Burger, because honestly, who can resist a burger stacked high with fries and coleslaw? It's basically a sandwich that looked at a side order and said, "Hop on, we're going together." Then Scott, the owner, came by. Turns out he's a former white-tablecloth restaurant guy who decided to bring his culinary wizardry to a laid-back grill. And you can feel it immediately. The guy doesn't just run the place, he hosts it. Now let's talk surprises. The hidden gem of the night was the ratatouille. Yes... ratatouille. At a grill known for burgers. And it was the best ratatouille I've had in 25 years. Somewhere in Provence a French grandmother just nodded approvingly. The onion rings? Fried perfection. Crispy, golden, and exactly what onion rings aspire to be when they grow up. The burgers themselves were a bit overcooked for my taste, which is the only reason this lands at four stars instead of five. But Scott's presence at the restaurant more than made up for it. The guy genuinely cares about his guests, checks in, chats, and makes the whole place feel welcoming. So here's the official scorecard: Food: Four Stars Onion rings: 5 Stars Ratatouille: 5 Stars Scott just being Scott: 6 stars (if Yelp allowed) Bottom line: go for the onion rings, stay for the ratatouille, and enjoy meeting Scott. Some restaurants have good food. This one has good people, and that's a recipe worth returning for.

We were contemplating a place to eat for dinner and came by to check it out. We were glad we did because the food was great and the service was amazing. We shared the whole fried snapper and some grilled fish/shrimp tacos. Fish was fried perfectly and was crispy on the outside with moist, tender flakes below. Lots of citrus and some hot sauce from the hot sauce shelves were a match well made. We also got the Cajun fries and cucumber salad, which were also tasty. Grilled fish and shrimp tacos to cap off the meal and we were stuffed. We loved the amazing service too. Warm smiles and genuinely nice folks made us keep looking at the menu for the next stop in. Don't be intimidated by the eclectic menu, the food and service are great.

Small restaurant with really great food! I got the fried fish bites with Cajun fries. Tiki rubbed wings (crispy deliciousness) and a catfish sandwich. Everything was a solid 10/10 all the food was amazing. This is truly some of the best comfort food I was very satisfied with my meal. The service was also a 10, looks like a younger staff but very professional. I will have to make this a favorite of mine when in Flagstaff.

The blacked tacos are great. We stop here most of the time we are in town. We enjoy sitting outside on the patio. Everyone has been super nice.

While passing through Flagstaff we stopped here for lunch. We had found this place back in October but it happened to be closed then. We are really really glad we came back! It's a little place with huge flavors! You order at the counter then find your table. We ordered drinks, a tikirita and a margarita. Both were solid. For food, since it was wing Wednesday, I ordered the Cajun spiced, honey tossed wing plate (fries and slaw). The wings are some of the best I've ever had. They brought ranch but imo that would have been an insult to the flavor! Fries and slaw were delicious too. My beautiful bride had the blackened shrimp tacos. Wow! Delicious! And they do not skimp on the shrimp. Now I know why this little place holds on to its near 5 star rating. This is now on our must stop when in Flagstaff!

Came here for lunch while visiting Flagstaff. The food was so good! We had the fish tacos, biscuits, fries, and onion rings. All of it was delicious and we will definitely be back! It is in a strip area near the freeway and the decor is so fun!

The restaurant itself was clean and had a stylish modern-meets-vintage vibe that made the atmosphere feel both cozy and upscale. Their cocktail menu was especially unique. I ordered the Vendetta Ride, and it was easily one of my favorite drinks of the night: light, slightly sweet, and finished with just the right kick. I absolutely loved it. The menu features creative contemporary American cuisine with an emphasis on sharing plates, which made the experience even more fun. We ordered two appetizers, two mains, and a dessert, and overall everything was excellent. My only critique would be the Duck Taquitos. The duck flavor was not there, and the mesquite mole sauce leaned too sweet for my taste. Aside from that, every dish impressed us. Overall, it was a fantastic meal and a great dining experience. I would highly recommend this spot if you're in Flagstaff!

I've spent years seeking out restaurants worth traveling for. I don't just eat to eat--I plan…read moreentire trips around food. Hospitality matters to me just as much as what's on the plate because great restaurants don't just serve meals; they create memories. Unfortunately, Shift became one I'll never forget for the wrong reasons. Our day couldn't have been further from what the staff assumed. We spent the morning hiking, went back to rest, explored a local bookstore, grabbed ice cream, and walked to our dinner reservation. Not one alcoholic drink had been consumed by anyone in our group the entire day. Not one. We also had a child with us. The only conversation we had with the host before being seated was asking whether it was okay that we had arrived about twenty minutes early for our reservation. We were polite, excited, and looking forward to dinner. Then my husband ordered a beer. The waitress immediately refused because she claimed the hostess believed my husbands speech and mannerisms meant he was intoxicated. Read that again. A guest who had consumed zero alcohol all day was judged to be intoxicated. I understand the responsibility restaurants have. If someone is genuinely impaired, absolutely don't serve them. Every responsible restaurant should protect its guests and its liquor license. But there is an equally important responsibility that seems to have been forgotten: making sure your judgment is actually right before labeling someone. There was no bar crawl. No cocktails beforehand. No wine tasting. No brewery stop. No hidden drinks. There wasn't even one drink. We left feeling embarrassed, confused, and honestly caught off guard. Not because a beer was refused, but because a person was reduced to an assumption based solely on how they naturally presented themselves. Here's what makes the experience even harder to understand. After leaving Shift, we walked to Atria, where we remained for approximately two hours. We talked, enjoyed ourselves, and spent the evening there without issue. If someone in our party had truly been intoxicated wouldn't that have been obvious there as well? It wasn't. Food can be good. Cocktails can be creative. Service can be polished. None of that matters if hospitality disappears the moment someone doesn't fit your expectation of what a guest "should" look or sound like. Maybe perhaps because we weren't locals we seemed off ? To anyone considering Shift, especially if you're traveling with someone whose speech, mannerisms, or disability could be misunderstood, know that this was our experience. I hope the restaurant reflects on what happened and asks itself a difficult question: How many guests have we mistaken for being intoxicated when, in reality, they simply communicated differently? Because that's not just a missed beer. That's a missed opportunity to treat someone with dignity. I came to Flagstaff excited to discover one of its most " creative" restaurants. Instead, I left wondering how quickly a restaurant built on hospitality could make a guest feel so unwelcome. Simply , because my husband is a restaurant manager in Las Vegas, who has managed restaurants like Yellowtail, Herbs&Rye, Gjelina, and Edo we left out of respect for the industry. However, we should have got our deposit automatically refunded. Next time, take the time. Take the time to care. If a staff member is under this assumption, management intervene not to just follow said assumption and repeat what she said, but to hold an actual conversation with your guest, to evaluate , to observe, to understand. I promise you, that would change so many things for you.
