We've been coming to Flag for years and have always driven by this place and it's always packed. We finally stopped to check it out and now I'm kind of bummed we never went sooner. I ordered the mama burger with tots and my husband got the make your own burger with fries. This is a really great smashburger. Great prices, too. You can definitely share a side - I only ate half of the tots. We had to try out the shakes and they didn't disappoint either. They're your traditional diner shakes - nice and thick with whipped cream and a cherry. Very nostalgic. There's a small outdoor seating area with a great view of Humphreys. But you can dine inside or do the drive-thru as well. Would definitely recommend this to anyone. read more

This has been a locals spot for a long time. Please note that they did remove the drive thru at the time of this review. If you place an online order you can pickup at the window, but you can't order there and have to go inside. They have a ton of seating inside and outside due to how they can get busy. When you walk in, they sometimes will have a timer out that states how long the wait is, which is helpful. I like that they have burgers and shakes of the month to change things up. Some of their classics are easy, good, and a fair price. I wish the tots weren't 6$. That seems a lot for a side, so I typically skip. read more

Great prices, they have gluten free buns and simple menu. Not a ton of space when it gets a little busy but still works. Simple set up. Good was good the smashed burger was well salted and had a really nice char. The sweet potato fries were money as well. We had a shake to go and it was delicious. It's super simple spot but with great upside. So good I forgot to take pics. Almost didn't go when I read some of the reviews, but in this case, I think they got it wrong. The food that was prepared correctly was wonderful--amazing, even. Unfortunately, the customer service from the manager was subpar. Two of the burgers were switched, and one child finished theirs before the mistake was noticed. When I called to explain the situation, the manager insisted the order was correct because she had prepared it herself. However, the burgers were labeled incorrectly. I was required to reorder and pay for a replacement burger, and no discount or concession was offered. When we finally received the correct burger, we realized it hadn't just been switched--it had been made incorrectly, with mustard used instead of the house sauce. After paying an additional $9.50 to get the correct burger, I can say that it was very much enjoyed, but the overall experience was disappointing. read more

This place is my family's favorite burger place in Flagstaff! We love that they have a burger and shake of the month in addition to their standard menu items. Their burgers are smash style with good caramelization. Their tots and French fries are always done well, crispy not soggy. I went to order a shake and some french fries they were late to get the fries out. I believe they forgot while everyone was goofing around in the back so I went up and asked for my fries. They said they were coming out of the fryer. Got the fries then left, when I got home the fries were hard as a rock. My guess is they forgot and so they put cold fries in the fryer and fried them a second time which made them super hard very disappointed we spent good money for this food and expect great customer service. read more

This is the best gluten free burger(s) in Flagstaff. The GF buns are toasted separately from the regular burgers. I always get their sweet potato fries-eventhough they are cooked in the same fryer as the regular French fries, I've never had a gluten reaction. I live the Grand Canyon (G.C.) burger. Got takeout from here last night 4/30 and they forgot to put both the pineapple and tomato that I paid extra for on my burger. To be fair, it was still a decent burger. Best Burger in Flagstaff Tour 2024!! First Stop: The Long awaited return of Mama B's, (formally Mama Burger.) This was a long time coming and like many others, we were very excited to give it a shot. We wanted to give it a few weeks because I'm sure like any business opening or reopening, there's going to be growing pains. The food had that same great taste for the most part. It was great to see the establishment sticking to their roots but also trying to rebrand for the future, the restaurants new look is great! We were very amped on the pickles or diced jalapeños option, We chose the Jalapeños. Unfortunately, there was more jalapeños than there was beef patty. (I hope they don't treat the pickles like that too.) The ratio was mad, if you told me there wasn't any beef. I might have believed you. -1 I might take some heat for this one. however, the nacho style fries are a little misleading. Now...When I first heard nacho style fries, I was instantly turned off. There is no wow factor there. Until my wife read "Queso." Who doesn't love Queso? I understand that in the Spanish language, "Queso" is a very broad word for cheese. However, in the American culinary industry, Queso is a very specific type of Mexican cheese dip. Google it. If you Google just "Queso", the cheese dip is the first item mentioned and you have to scroll past all the other variations of queso dips, a little ways to find the Spanish translation. It's not Queso on the fries, it's just Nacho cheese, or more commonly referred to as "Queso para nachos" in Spanish. That is the kind of confusion that can occur when 95% of your menu is written in English and random words changed to a very broad Spanish translation. Whether it's to honor someone or to just make the dish sound better than it is. ‍ The nacho fries were not good at all, we had asked for the mayo on the side. Instead we got a nacho cheese and mayo soup. Again the ratio of sauce to fries, was horrendous. -1 It was disappointing to say the least, mostly because we built it up to its former glory... That's on us. We wouldn't have eaten any of it if we dined in. Fries were a total soggy, soupy, loss. Mama B's still has a long way to go to reclaim the legendary tier of burgers in this town, at a time when there is more burger competition in Flagstaff than ever before. We might try Mama B's again, but it's hardly the first burger you think of, with the options in this town now. We're gonna try Brown Bag Burger next week, to see how they stack up as the best burger in town. read more

A disappointment. The tale goes like this. Pretzel burger rare no tomato. We don't do that. Do what? Rare. What do you do? All burgers are well done. Well done? Well done. You know that well done burgers are dry as shoe leather? That got me a late teens e-coli police laser stare of how dare I ask for rare. Does that come with fries? No. Fries are extra. $24 later my meal comes. There was no moisture in the burger as predicted. The pretzel bun was dust dry. No amount of aioli or ketchup was going to fix this. I grew up eating pretzels made by the Pennsylvania Dutch, neighbors and Manhattan street vendors. They would all be very embarrassed of this bun. The owners need to see what a properly prepared and made to order burger tastes like. Roadrunner Saloon in New River, Bill's Grill in Prescott and Nerd Burger in Globe are all outstanding examples of a great burger and you can get rare at every one of them. read more

I understand that it isn't the same place as it used to be. But when you keep a relatively similar name, the menu and food should still be similar to what it once was. The burger was at best mediocre. The sauce was not nearly as good as it was. Too peppery now. The fries? Not even CLOSE to what they were.
