    Southwest Turkey Panini
    Tanya G.

This sandwich was so delicious I had to drive back up the Canyon to have another one. The Southwest Turkey is my go to. Pressed on the panini grill to perfection. The whole experience has been amazing. Consistency Great quality The bread is baked locally from The Village Bakery. They use Boars Head Meat. Nowadays everyone cuts corners. Not Aspen Deli. They get it!' Quality. Friendly and happy smiling faces behind the counter. Wonderful patio to people watch. There is a parking lot across the street. Now that I know where to park it will make my visit easier to navigate. I love this place!! Support local businesses. Chefs kiss

I'm so glad we finally tried Aspen Deli while on a little vacation in Flagstaff because this will now be our go-to lunch spot. Service was incredibly friendly and fast. My husband and I had a tough time deciding on which sandwiches we wanted so we got two to share. We had the Beaver Street cold sandwich with a side of homemade chips. The bacon was super thick and the fig jam absolutely delicious. The chips were also great! We also got the Hot Pastrami with a side of fruit. This sandwich was stacked with super tender pastrami and the side of fruit was fresh and good. These sandwiches were massive and we were both so full we had to walk for 20 mins around town just to feel comfortable again haha! Definitely a great deal in town in the way of quality & quantity at an affordable price. They have a few tables inside as well as a nice shaded outdoor patio. Very comfortable place for a great lunch!

This spot was perfect for lunch. The service was the BEST. The staff was so kind and always made sure we had everything we needed. We sat outside on the patio and got our meals very quickly. The food was all delicious and the portion sizes were very generous.

This is by far my favorite lunch spot in Flagstaff! We truly enjoyed Aspen Deli for many reasons. Firstly this family owned business was full of kind welcoming energy that we loved. We sat outside and it was a lovely day! This seating made the meal feel like a picnic. The meal was so delicious - we chose "the aspen" sandwich which I was one of my favorite meals we ate in Flagstaff. I will mention the Thai soup was on the spicy side - but everything else was great. We parked down the street at the $1 per hour parking next to the park. (The more affordable option in downtown flagstaff). We will definitely be back when in the area.

Excellent lunch experience, from the friendly service to the fresh and creative sandwiches to the homemade lemonade. Loved the BLT. Very nice patio to enjoy your lunch.

Fantastic little deli. Food is fresh, prices are reasonable, service is excellent. Has both an indoor dining room and a cozy patio. Love it.

My go-to salad and sandwich place in Flag. Service is always great and the food is delicious. You can order online ahead of time- which is convenient. Caesar salad is tasty. Loved the apple and Brie sandwich. Cute outdoor seating and some tables inside, as well.

    Note on our sandwich.

Great deli! We will be back! We have been visiting Flagstaff for 5 days. My husband and I were planning a picnic as we headed to the Walnut Canyon National Monument. Aspen Deli did not disappoint. First, we ordered by phone. The order was ready when we arrived AND TOTALLY ACCURATE (which is actually unheard of these days). The sandwich was so thick and very good, that we ended up sharing one sandwich and we are planning to find another picnic spot tomorrow. Loved the cute note on our sandwich. It really made it personal.

    BYO Gluten free chicken sandwich

Aspen is a staple for downtown employees & flagstaff locals for a reason. I love how they switch up the sides (that come with every sandwich). My favorites are the slaws, house chips (so good), cucumber salad. They have so many they rotate through and there's 10 or so to choose from so there's something for everyone. The owners and staff know everyone's name and are truly like family. They've even guessed correctly what side I would pick based off knowing my tastebuds. Always good. Consistent. Great options for gluten free (the best gf bread! And even cookies)

We popped in on a Monday morning hoping to score some great grub and we certainly found some! Cubano ($20.95) - Starting with the bread - it's really fluffy, not toasted or pressed as with usual cubanos. Unfortunately, it's probably a little too light for the sandwich because some parts get mushy from being soaked in all the dijonnaise. The dijonnaise is very sweet, creamy with a mustardy zing. I think they add a bit too much, making the sandwich more fatty and messy to eat than I like (not to mention what I stated before about it soaking into the bread). The meat is fantastic. Both porchetta and ham are griddled on the flat top, giving them a developed and concentrated edge. The ham is to the point of being like country ham, while the porchetta still has great seasoned porky flavor. I believe they griddle the swiss cheese alongside the meat. It melts and crisps up into a cheese skirt, adding a fantastic texture to the sandwich. There's a lot of crinkle cut pickles underneath the meat, but it's not enough acid to cut through all that fat. Sandwiches come with a side of house chips. They are fried until a darker golden brown color, but aren't burnt. This gives a great kettle chip-like crunch. Even with different sized chips, they are very evenly fried with all chips being the same texture. They are salted the perfect amount. (4/5) Aleppo Pepper Pastrami sub Tomato Soup ($22.75) - This place is famous for their pastrami, and I can tell the quality. It's cooked on the griddle until it develops crisp edges. It's fatty, but the fat is rendered so there are no chewy and leathery parts. The meat is extremely tender and thinly sliced. It's honestly almost like bacon in texture, but the taste is completely different, with the exterior spices and pepper making a huge impact along with the rich concentrated meatiness inside. The bread is a nice toasted sourdough, not strongly sour in flavor, but definitely noticeable. The bottom slice is slathered with plenty of nopales studded cream cheese. It's added in a large amount and is an extremely creamy and fatty substance yet somehow doesn't overwhelm the sandwich. It's warm but not melty. The nopales are clearly there but I didn't find it to contribute much. The pastrami is layered on top of that followed by a ton of sweet brown caramelized onions that are very tender. An entire green chile, roasted and super smoky, is above that. Finally, aleppo mustard is spread on the top slice of bread. Between the green chile and the aleppo, there's a slight warmth that tinges the sandwich. It's nothing too spicy. Instead of chips, we opted to sub the Tomato Soup (no fee). It's very homestyle, full of tomato richness in a thick blend. It has a strong tangy tomato essence. There's basil oil drizzled on top for a boost of freshness. The soup is unfortunately quite a bit too acidic for my tastes, but that's only by itself! While very acidic, the soup is actually great as a balance to the sandwich (along with the pickle of course) since there's so much richness and fat coming in between the bread. (5/5) Proper Meats + Provisions definitely serves some great sandwiches. We were considering visiting again for our 2 full days in Flagstaff, but weren't able to make it because they close so early at 6! Bathrooms - Two unisex rooms Note: Proper Meats charges a 3% credit card fee. This is labeled on the menu

They heard what I said, but gave something different. I ordered the sandwich with all the meats (forgot the name, had a D in it), an oatmeal cookie and a cold brew with cold foam and caramel, and a cup of soup. I received the correct sandwich and soup, but I got a chocolate chip cookie and a latte? There was no cold brew with foam, just everything mixed and was definitely a latte. I went back in to change out my cookie, glad I noticed it before leaving. A bit disappointed in the inaccuracy of my order. BUT they have great tasting sandwiches and soups. That I'll give them! I noticed they had a variety of dessert squares available, so I ended up choosing several of them to sample. One dessert that stood out to me appearance-wise was the Irish apple cake. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a little too dry and tasted very similar to a basic apple cinnamon cake. Overall, it wasn't anything special to me. I also tried their strawberry lemon bar, which I really enjoyed. This one was very good and had a nice balance of tart lemon flavor. The texture inside was tacky in a good way, and it made the dessert very yummy. Another square I tried was the Almond Joy bar, which was amazing. It had a base that seemed to be made with granola, topped with a sweet coconut cream layer, and finished with a thick layer of chocolate and shredded coconut. It was very tasty. The last dessert I tried was their bread pudding square. It was pretty good overall, but it wasn't anything special. I did find the bread pudding to be a little dry. Each dessert square was priced at about $4.50. The staff was really nice or friendly. On the positive side, parking was super easy since the bakery is located in the same plaza as Safeway.
