Solid bagel spot in downtown Flag. When we came, the line was almost out the door, which was a good sign! They move through the lines quickly so its worth the wait. They have a wide menu of bagels, breakfast and lunch sandwiches, and a tons of different flavors spreads. Food was very good! Sandwiches are loaded. Good bagels! They're excellent fresh, though not my favorite the next day. The bagel sandwiches are solid, and I usually swing by on my way out of Flagstaff. Yes, there are lines, but they move quickly! The bagels, cream cheese and bagel sandwiches are all delicious. The space isn't huge, but customers don't linger too long, so there is usually space to sit and eat! The line was literally out the door when we stopped by Sunday morning and we decided to wait it out. In total we waited about 40 minutes in line until it was finally our turn, yay. The cashier was friendly and rang us up quick. I bought two bagels - one breakfast bagel on sesame with egg, bacon, and cheddar cheese and the second one (to share) was an onion bagel with garlic & herb cream cheese. I spent about $18 with a tip. My sister bought a club bagel on an everything one and her total with like a $2 tip was $17, yikes. We luckily found two empty bar stools and we sat down to wait. About 15 minutes later, our food was ready. The bagels were toasted nicely and had the right amount of cream cheese. My breakfast sandwich hit the spot and was very filling. My sisters club bagel was pretty good, tasted fresh, and we both agreed that the onion bagel was yummy. Prices are steep but at least the food was good. My husband and I had brunch here once in July. I thought my apple crunch bagel was too hard. The bagel was either a traditional hard style, or it was stale. We shared a chocolate muffin, and it was moist and fantastic. I ordered a latte. On the day we visited, the shop did not have whole milk. (Do they ever carry whole milk?) They offered either 2% or half and half. I asked them to mix part of each to approximate whole milk. My latte was served lukewarm, a disappointment. The cafe has hard metal stools, and none with backs. This seating is not very comfortable. My husband did not like the coffee. Ordered a turkey club asked for the bagel to be toasted, it was not. They were also out of cheddar cheese. My one friend's bagel had like no cream cheese on it and the bagel was deformed looking. Other friend got a sandwich also, they called her name she went up to get it and they proceeded to not give it to her and to put it on a shelf, while she was standing waiting there for 5 minutes, she asked for it and they said "hold on" even though they called her name! I also had to wait forever to order a coffee, finally ordered a small caramel latte. Waited for them to call my name and waited 15 minutes till i finally went up and was waiting by the counter. Asked the girl making coffee about my drink and she said she never got an order for a small caramel latte. She went to make my drink and also gave me a free vanilla latte that she believed to be my order but it was not mine . Biff's is a must visit in Flagstaff. Located south of the tracks next to Mother Road and Toasted Owl, they make some of the best bagels I've ever tasted. Went on a Sunday and it was packed, service went decently fast (although I think it was mostly due to the patrons ordering speed, workers were hustling!) Ordered a cheesy mish-mash sandwich with pastrami and fell in love, wife had a cinnamon raisin with regular cream cheese and even that was amazing. Biff's and Fat Bagels are the Flagstaff bagel rivalry. Unfortunately for it being West Side vs East Side, though, there are no stereotypes to map onto this. In any case, Biff's are a bit drier and less chewy on the inside, but have a nicer bite on the outside to make up for it. Decent yeasty flavor, perhaps not as intense I'd like. I was able to order in advance all the bagels we liked and needed and they also had the cream cheese. Problem solved! Just a short jaunt to Sedona and picked them up and enjoyed one on the way home. Only one young woman was taking orders, and she seemed annoyed. There was a smell of burning tires from the kitchen, so maybe there is a good reason for it, but the service was poor. I ordered a lox with cream cheese "sandwich."Neither the lox nor the bagel was fresh. The lox had a fishy odor, and a mushy consistency, the bagel tasted like it had been frozen and thawed. Very heavy and dry. I had requested the bagel be toasted, but it came back a little warmed up, maybe in a microwave(?). Not toasted. The lox and cheese were ice cold, right out of the fridge. $15 was a crazy high price for that mess. So, poor service, bad food, and high price. One and done for Biff's Bagels. read more

We were in Flag and the family wanted something quick to eat before wandering around. Biffs was it. This spot is cozy and has plenty of bagel options and cream cheese choices. We grabbed a few bagels with veggie cream cheese and plain and a few pastries. The bagels were average but the cream cheese set them off. The veggie cream cheese had real vegetables chopped into it and was super tasty. The caramel apple muffin and chocolate chip cookie kind of tasted like they had been in the freezer as they had a refrigerator taste, if you know what I mean. We haven't been to Flagstaff since about 2018, so haven't had a meal at Biff's since then. Finally made it back to Flag two weeks ago, and promptly had breakfasts at Biffs - twice. I fondly remember Flagstaff for having an exceptional breakfast scene--this is a great city for outdoorsy weekends, so visitors are starting out early and getting ready to burn (and consume) plenty of calories walking uphill. Biff's Bagels carries the vibes of a good, independent bakery, but ultimately it's a letdown. I went with a bagel sandwich featuring their classic spicy mish-mash, which is really just an everything bagel with more salt and a ton of chipotle seasoning. The exterior was rock hard, with the rest of the bagel so chewy it felt like a chore. For some reason, you have to order coffee from a separate line even though it's just a few feet away. They use a good roaster, but both of our drinks tasted way too watery. The juice looks fresh and phenomenal however, and they should advertise it more as it's the most appetizing item here! Overall, this place felt warm and inviting--service is great and all the workers are hip. But the actual product? Not so sure about it. read more

This is a cool spot for a quick, solid bite in the morning. Ordered a spicy Mish-Mash (everything) bagel, toasted, with sausage, egg, and cheese. While I prefer a fried egg over a scrambled egg, and American cheese over cheddar, my sandwich was still pretty tasty.
