Best boba (and popcorn chicken) we had on our Route 66 roadtrip from Chicago to LA. In fact, it was so good we had to drive back from Williams to Flagstaff to get more for the road. You order yourself at a kiosk. First day we ordered pop n bo with signature milk tea, another signature milk tea and a Shizuka matcha with coconut milk. The milk teas had a strong tea flavor, which we prefer. The matcha was a little too sweet if you want to be able to taste the matcha. I like a lot of ice in my tea, so I asked for more. They had to put into a new cup and reseal, but the worker gladly did it for me. We sat and enjoyed the popcorn chicken fresh. There are several tables, but most people seemed to take it to go. The next day we got the same orders but reduced the sugar in the matcha and added an order of fried tofu, which was also delicious. read more

Ended up having to use the self serve kiosk which was annoying because we intended on purchasing stickers as well and we can't do that at the kiosk. I'm only giving this review two stars because my family liked their drinks (a hot taro milk tea with boba) but I hated mine, got the regular milk tea and the quality was terrible. We were in Flagstaff and just happened to drive past Sono Kitchen. Since we already tried the one in Sedona, we pretty much knew what we were going to order. Of course, we got the popcorn chicken again. We skipped the drinks this time and just went straight for our favorite. And let me tell you, the popcorn chicken here is HUGE. Each piece is like the size of a chicken wing. It's crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and honestly, it's super filling. I was already full just from eating the popcorn chicken. This location is also bigger than the one in Sedona, so it feels more open and comfortable. And parking is way easier since they have their own spots right outside, which is always a plus. Great little boba place located off of Milton in Flagstaff. The decorations were cat themed and cute, and they sold extremely cute merchandise! The service was quick, the cashier and the kitchen staff were extremely nice. I got the Dragon Eyes tea with mango popping boba. Visitor from Bay Area, I always thought boba shops outside the Bay would be cheaper -- until I came here. A popcorn chicken + drink combo was $18, where similar combos back home are usually $10-$15. A regular milk tea runs about $7, and upgrading from medium to large costs additional $1.40, the upside doesn't really seem bigger enough for the price, even the most expensive boba chains in the Bay Area don't charge that much. We ordered the green tea and peach mojito, and both were just okay -- nothing special to justify the higher prices. Tried their Japanese Calamari this time and asked for no salt sprinkle on top. They were kind to give me the seasonings on the side. The last time we tried the popcorn chicken and tofu, they were too salty. Flavor was good even without the salt! Very crispy and tasty. They definitely changed the recipe or cheapened it or the employees aren't making it right. The boba is small and hard and not like boba. If I'm paying $7-10 for BOBA I want good boba. I've never had an issue since this restaurant has been open. You walk in, order at the counter, wait for your food to be called, and enjoy! The boba drinks taste so fresh, we've enjoyed each one we've purchased. I usually get the Strawberry Snow White, which is frozen, and my husband gets the Dragon Eyes, with popping boba. You can never go wrong with a Thai Milk Tea though! As for food, I've only tried the gyoza and the Pop n Bo bowl but damn they're both really good!! My husband and I often go for the Pop n Bo bowl, if not a boba tea. **Feeling wordy on this one, bear with me.** I wanted something different - new town, new food - so decided to check out Sono for lunch, get some protein and maybe a second bubble tea for taste comparisons from my first stop. This fast-casual eatery is nice: Order at the counter, take your number, go up and grab your food from the large kitchen cutout counter when your number's called; plenty of seating and clean tables. There's prepackaged cold drinks and snacks at the counter and mugs, water bottles, anime keychains and other trinkets. I got the Salt & Pepper Tofu and my go-to bubble tea flavor, their Taro Yama. The salt/pepper and chili spice (didn't notice what this was brand-wise) are powder-form, so you sprinkle on the fresh hot tempura tofu cubes. Yes, it was spiced, was the good kind that warms your mouth and doesn't distract from the flavor. The dipping "sauce" was more of a mayo taste, but I also missed catching the deets. A great pick. I was not too pleased with my Taro Yama bubble tea. After sitting in the fridge overnight, it had congealed to a slimy glob. After a few bites, the taste was overly sweet, and the boba weren't helping either way. That went to the waste heaven. Adding in, I did grab a matcha, a strawberry, and a red bean mochi to take on the trip. When I finally got around to eating the mochi, they were pretty good. The pink and white just had a red bean paste inside, but the green matcha was really good. Just remember to keep them refrigerated; mine lasted just fine that way five days after buying them. read more

I love the boba here, it's consistently delicious. Service is good and reasonably fast. My only complaint is the price, but I have to hand it to them, the quality is there. I prefer this location, Flagstaff, over Sedona whenever possible as it is much easier to get parking reasonably close. I also find the Sedona location much slower in terms of getting drinks out to you. If you have the option, visit the Flagstaff location over Sedona. read more

Woohoo! I'm so glad there's a decent boba shop in Flagstaff. When we came here just a few minutes after opening there was already a line 3 customers deep so they are doing something right to have a steady stream of customers at opening time. The menu consists of various bowls, snacks, and a variety of bubble tea drinks. For those watching their caffeine intake they do have caffeine free drinks such as the strawberry snow white. Since it was my first time here I opted to get their boba milk tea to gauge how it was compared to other typical milk teas I've had. Although I requested it 50% sweet it came out 25% sweet on the receipt, a mistake on the cashier's part but after I tried it I was OK with the minimal amount of sweetness. At 25% sweet it was refreshing with just a hint of sweetness. I think at 25% sweetness I could also taste the tea flavor more which I also appreciated. The boba included in the milk tea was nice and chewy, and was white colored as opposed to the darker colored tapioca you might see at other shops. I got the medium size but I quickly sipped up all my drink so next time I'd probably opt for a large size. The food here looks intriguing so next time I'll have to it! I tried a sip of the strawberry snow white at 50% sweetness. When ordering the drink at reduced sweetness the cashier warned that the drink wouldn't have as much strawberry flavor but after taking the sip it seemed like a good amount of strawberry flavor to me, just more tart. I got this drink for the kiddo with passion fruit popping boba which garnered a thumbs up from her. I also tried a tiny bit of the taro yama which tasted like your typical taro milk tea made from powder. It tasted good at full sweetness. Hard to find some asian food on Sedona, but this one is in the corner of the main street. Prices are ok. Portions are little. Chicken popcorn is great. I come from the land of boba.. (well, outside of Taiwan anyways). We're very spoiled in SoCal so I definitely came in with slightly lowered expectations. Now, SoCal boba this is not. They don't have any of the fancier things like a jasmine tea cheese foam or fresh fruit teas. However, what they do have is pretty solid. All their drinks come with boba so be sure to ask for no boba if it's not your thing. Their sea salt mango tea was actually pretty good and their taro milk tea and black milk tea are exactly what you would want. We got all of our drinks 50% sweet and it was just the right amount. Asian tastes I guess! What surprised me the most was the food. I wouldn't say it's authentically Taiwanese but everything was tasty. The house noodle was more of a teriyaki bowl with noodles. I liked the addition of some Napa cabbage and Chinese cucumber salad. Chicken was tender and not over cooked Pork don - they use Lu rou fan as the rice base which is such a nice surprise. The pork chop was moist and perfectly breaded. 10/10 would recommend 3 drinks, 2 house noodles and 1 pork don was roughly $76 which is the most I've ever paid for boba and food. Whenever I come up to flagstaff on the weekends I usually end up getting lunch at least one of the days with my friend here. The atmosphere is fun and casual with nice big windows that let the light in. I usually get the Pop n' Bo which is about $16 for popcorn chicken and boba. The food comes out relatively quick and has good flavor. The popcorn chicken is nice, crispy, and salty but in a good way. It comes with a sort if seasoned mayo sauce to dip in as well. The boba really depends on which one you get. I've had some I really liked and some that were just okay. It's really up to personal preference! Having lived in Japan, it was fun to see a small pop-up restaurant like this hit Flagstaff! Recommend: Yes! Prices are on par, food was relatively quick, hot, tasty, and nothing was out of place for flavor. Very welcoming staff, airy, room to move around and should turn out to be a smash hit for the college town! Food was temperately correct, flavored and not bogged down in oil and well presented. Really enjoyed this quick stop in. We went wanting Chinese food. This isn't really that. This is like a greasy, fast food noodle place Everything was tasty, but didn't seem healthy, like what I would get at a real Chinese food place. Teriyaki chicken is dark meat, which I don't really like, but it was some of the better dark meat I've had. Noodles were tasty, but greasy and have tiny pieces of pork all through them, and I don't like eating pork.. Pickles were good. I've never had boba. Got a mango cream boba, and the standard boba in the bottom were like coffee gummies. It seemed strange, so I asked about it. They have a mango boba that pops, which were great, and to me would have made a lot more sense to be what they put in the bottom of a mango drink. Customer service was good.
