For dinner tonight was a place that I have been wanting to go forever and Liam loved it so we all went. Liam and Ruby two of my close besties wanted to get dinner with Dad and so we did. My husband and I decided to try something new and we loved this place! We are suckers for sushi and really any kind of Asian foods, so we kind of had high hopes anyways. This restaurant has bar vibes but it still feels serene and quiet. We got sat next to the front door, when we were hoping to be sat upstairs. We didn't really care much either way, and luckily our date still felt very quiet and personal. We started with the bao buns and they looked so good we forgot to take a photo. We haven't tried many bao buns but these were really tasty, and different flavors than what we've experienced before. I also got a mai tai which was perfect and my husband got a sake bomb with Sapporo. This is what my husband usually gets to drink, except here we got so much sake for such a great price!! We've walked by many times and always see the cutest lady making gyoza in the window, she always gives us a smile! First off, love the vibe! I was hoping for a table by the window but they sat us at a spot on the balcony that overlooked the bar, and it did not disappoint! Great view of the whole place. I forgot a pic but I got the Spa Day cocktail (add gin) and it was amazing!! My favorite food was the crab rangoons, can't wait to go back for these. The gyoza was also delish. We came her on a Friday night about an hour before close with a party of 5. We were told it would be a 5-10 minute wait so we sat at the bar and got drinks. I got a dirty vodka martini and it was tasty. I am a martini lover and I have had martinis that weren't that good but this one was fabulous. Perfectly chilled and the right amount of vodka/olive juice. Also the olives were sizable. My friend had another cocktail I can't remember the name of and it was really good as well. For appetizers we got edamame and spring rolls both hit the spot. It's hard to mess up edamame and spring rolls though in my humble opinion. Our server was great and made it clear the kitchen closed soon and checked on us a couple times to make sure we could get whatever we wanted before the window to order was closed. For my entree I got the orange tofu with fried rice. The fried rice was pretty good. I loved that it had edamame in it. The tofu was good but really could've used more sauce as it was a smidge bland but not bad at all. My partner had Korean pork ribs with baked potato salad! The sauce popped with sweet goodness in your mouth and the meat was fall off the bone tender! The potato salad was on fire! Three different types of onion, the Mayo was mixed garlic and the perfect match to set off the flavors in the onion! Almost & I say ALMOST better than mom's potato salad! We had the loveliest date night at Lotus this weekend!! We enjoyed the ambiance, service, cocktails, and food immensely! We ordered goyza and crab rangoons. Both were crispy and delicious. I enjoyed the miso- honey salmon with the glaze on the side. When I asked if the salmon was a good choice ( because I am picky about seafood), I was informed that the salmon is sushi grade, and it was really nice. The salad dressing was delicious too! My husband enjoyed the rainbow roll. I also really enjoyed a cocktail that was called something like "blessed with many sons." First off what I will say the food is very good. I have been here several times and that has been the only highlight which is the only reason the review is 2 stars, for the food. The service is the worst in downtown. The staff is friendly, but getting drinks, apps or food timely and in order is a challenge. The last 2 times we have waited for drinks more than 20 minute initially and again for a refill. In addition, it was not busy. I watched the servers in our area upstairs and each had a 2-3 tables. The last experience is the one that prompted this review as we got our appetizer and then our meal before we ever got a drinks. The food came out about 4 minutes after the appetizer and not all of our food came at once. This service experience is not isolated to one particular person as it has happened with all the servers we have had in the past. Please do better read more

We came to flagstaff for the weekend to get away and it's much colder so we saw they had pho and thought it looked like a cool place and the atmosphere seemed chill but upbeat. Firstly they didn't have the pho on the menu anymore so we asked what was similar and she said the pork ramen or chicken miso udon. So we ordered the pork ramen. Secondly, our waitress was not very pleasant or helpful when we asked questions, we just felt like she was judging us the whole time and seemed annoyed. Not to mention, we waited 35 minutes for a draft beer and a simple cocktail. We actually got our appetizer and food long before our drinks came out. When we go our food it looked decent but after trying it...absolutely no flavor. One of our sons lives in Flagstaff and the other was in town. They brought us to the Lotus Lounge for dinner during our recent visit. It is located in the downtown area, with an upstairs as well. They take reservations and I made them for 6:15 pm on a Wednesday evening. We were seated upstairs at a window table overlooking the street. Our young male server was attentive, professional, and efficient. My wife and I had the edamame and miso soup. She had the shrimp tempura and I had a rainbow roll. Our sons and I all had beers, and they have a somewhat limited but tasty selection. We liked the miso soup. We like our edamame more seasoned and spicy. My wife liked her tempura. I have had better rainbow rolls, but it was still good. Our sons like the food in general here. Prices are not inexpensive nor are they outrageous. Pretty much the going rate these days for sushi. We were in the mood for Sushi, so we decided to try the Lotus lounge. The reviews on Yelp were mostly positive, so why not? The hostess asked us if we had a reservation - we did not. He was very nice and found us a table upstairs. Great service! So far so good - right? We'll, as soon as he sat us, the server came over and looked annoyed. He was quick to ask us for our drink and food order- even though we just sat down. We felt rushed. Now I was annoyed, but hey I waited tables once long ago and understand the stress associated with working a busy shift when things aren't going your way. We just smiled and asked for a minute to look at the menu. About 190 seconds later, he rushed right over to take our order. A few moments later, he quickly dropped off a glass of Malbec and in passing mentioned it was a healthy pour - as if I should be grateful. Well, it was the sweetest tasting Malbec I've ever had. I'm not a wine expect, but I know what I like and I prefer dryer wines and not overly sweet. This was not a Malbec. At this point, we were ready to leave, but we wanted to try the Sushi. We were in Flagstaff for one night and this place was highly recommended. The Sushi arrived. It was good, but not worth recommending. $75 for simply awful food. Wings were undercooked and had so much sweet syrup on them you could barely taste chicken. The orange chicken with fried rice was smaller than a Panda Express bowl and the chicken and the rice you could tell were pre-made. The Bao buns barely had any meat in them the rolls were cold and stale and the sauce inside tasted like something you put on desert....inedible.it took over 20 minutes to get drinks, never offered refills. When the waitress came by, she asked how the food was and I said not that good and she said, "gotcha". I used to be a chef and owned a restaurant and all the food was made fresh to order, no precooking and my staff was trained to be more attentive .Also, the menu said all day Happy Hour on Appetizers but we were charged full price and the excuse was not those Appetizers even though it said all.
