    Nasty tartar sauce
    David V.

This location seems to suffer from a revolving door of restaurants but perhaps Baja Mar will survive where others didn't. But to do so, I think they need to solve their tartar sauce situation. We ate some fish and chips - the fish was crispy and delicate but the prepackaged tartar sauce was dreadful. Come on Baja - do better and make your own! Your fish is nice but that tartar sauce is a crime! The portion was generous and the house margarita was tasty enough that we ordered a second round. Will we be back? Maybe but we'll probably stop by Safeway to pick up some tartar sauce on the way!

    Carne Asada Nachos

The food truck was always fantastic and the restaurant has not disappointed. The drinks are solid. The house margarita tasted fresh and strong. Often house margs have a watered down, made in batches flavor. Not the case here. The carne asada nachos were great, pulled high with lots of toppings, and the Birria plate had excellent flavor. The location is right downtown, making it super convenient. Perfect spot for summer margs on the patio.

Went for lunch ordered the fish and chips quite possibly the worst I've ever had. That's really all I can say about this restaurant.

I actually love that the menu is straight to the point because you just *know* it's going to be good. I obviously ordered the fish (had to!!) and wow... I wish we had this back home. The batter was thin but perfectly crispy, the fish was sooo tender, and the hand-cut fries? Chef's kiss. The curry sauce with the fish = elite combo. Portions were huge too! Pricing was pretty standard about $22 for my meal, and totally worth it. I was able to split my meal into three meals. Parking is a little hit or miss (street parking if you're lucky, or a paid lot that's a bit of a walk), but trust me... worth it!

A Masterclass in Modern American Fine Dining…read more My recent dinner at Atria in downtown Flagstaff was, quite simply, an exceptional experience from start to finish. Chef Rochelle Daniel has created a space that perfectly balances upscale elegance with a warm, inviting atmosphere, making it a true standout in the region. We started the evening with their incredible oyster selection. The oysters with the cucumber granita were a masterclass in refreshing, clean flavors--a perfect, bright start to the meal. We also indulged in the oysters with caviar beurre blanc, which provided a stunning, decadent contrast; the richness of the beurre blanc paired with the briny pop of caviar was unforgettable. Another standout from the starters was the foie gras cornets--delicate, playful, and incredibly rich, they were a brilliant opening note for the palate. The beet salad was another highlight. Far from a simple starter, the charcoal-roasted preparation brought out a beautiful depth and earthiness, elevated by the perfect balance of creamy textures and crunchy toppings. For the main, the duck entrée was flawless. The skin was perfectly rendered, and the meat was incredibly tender, showcasing the kitchen's technical prowess. To complement the meal, we enjoyed a bottle of Michael David Inkblot Cabernet Franc. It was a fantastic choice--bold and velvety with those classic notes of dark fruit and a hint of spice that held up beautifully against the richness of the duck and the earthiness of the beets. What truly elevated the presentation was the stunning pottery. Every dish was served on beautiful, locally crafted ceramic pieces that added a tactile, artisanal feel to the table. It's a thoughtful detail that grounds the high-end cuisine in the spirit of Northern Arizona. We finished the evening on a high note with a round of perfectly pulled espressos and the coconut macaroons. The macaroons were the ideal final bite--crispy on the outside, wonderfully chewy on the inside, and just the right amount of sweetness to round out the experience. From the thoughtful presentation of every plate to the impeccable, knowledgeable service, everything about the evening felt intentional and memorable. Atria is not just a meal; it is a culinary experience that showcases the very best of Northern Arizona's ingredients. It is a must-visit.

An abomination of a sidecar, not quite straight orange liqueur. Could barely finish my 20+$ drink. Bread was VERY crusty. Not fluffy, and coated in oil. Other than that the food was good. We picked this place because it was supposed to be the best in Flagstaff. We enjoyed it, service was good, the place itself is amazing. The bathroom smell was delicious but too potent. I loved being able to see the exposed kitchen area in the back!

So much so, they have been craving it and cannot find another place that tastes the same. I ordered their two fish taco special which was different than any other fish taco I've had, but very good! We also tried their corn and shrimp chowder which was amaaaaaazing! My son ordered the hurricane drink and said it was strong but very tasty. This place seemed like a little gem to the locals. Their customers seem very happy to be there and the guys running it are very nice and helpful. I would definitely recommend coming in if you're in the area. They have something for everyone. Four stars for the food... five stars for Scott…read more We wandered into Tiki Grill and ordered the Pittsburgh Burger, because honestly, who can resist a burger stacked high with fries and coleslaw? It's basically a sandwich that looked at a side order and said, "Hop on, we're going together." Then Scott, the owner, came by. Turns out he's a former white-tablecloth restaurant guy who decided to bring his culinary wizardry to a laid-back grill. And you can feel it immediately. The guy doesn't just run the place, he hosts it. Now let's talk surprises. The hidden gem of the night was the ratatouille. Yes... ratatouille. At a grill known for burgers. And it was the best ratatouille I've had in 25 years. Somewhere in Provence a French grandmother just nodded approvingly. The onion rings? Fried perfection. Crispy, golden, and exactly what onion rings aspire to be when they grow up. The burgers themselves were a bit overcooked for my taste, which is the only reason this lands at four stars instead of five. But Scott's presence at the restaurant more than made up for it. The guy genuinely cares about his guests, checks in, chats, and makes the whole place feel welcoming. So here's the official scorecard: Food: Four Stars Onion rings: 5 Stars Ratatouille: 5 Stars Scott just being Scott: 6 stars (if Yelp allowed) Bottom line: go for the onion rings, stay for the ratatouille, and enjoy meeting Scott. Some restaurants have good food. This one has good people, and that's a recipe worth returning for.

This was my first time trying this location. We went as a family. I made reservations on Resy which was great because they were busy, but sat us right away. This is a very classy Italian restaurant in Flagstaff. This location does have happy hour every day which I would recommend because it is a little bit. We missed the happy hour and took a venture down the main menu. We started off with several drinks ( my Hugo was light and refreshing) and then got the whipped ricotta appetizer and the calamari appetizer. The whipped ricotta was light fluffy, and divine. For main courses our family had the chicken Parmesan, which came with a nice and large chicken portion as well as the chicken pesto pasta with pinenuts, which was my favorite. We were stuffed. Everything was wonderful. Parking downtown can be tricky so give yourself a little extra time. Would definitely come back here again.
