Tried another new-to-us spot for lunch today. We've been saying for a year or two we need to try it, and today was the perfect day for "Taco Tuesday". They served Salsa Verde with their chips, which is unusual. It was really good. Hubby had the Taco Tuesday special, a flight of Street tacos. He had one of each meat, and said they were all delicious. Plenty of meat and toppings for street tacos. I can remember 4 of the 5: Carnitas, Carne Asada, Pollo Asado, Adobada. I did the two item combo. Shredded beef rolled tacos and a cheese enchilada with rice and beans. I don't like when the beans aren't smooth, but they had such great flavor before I knew it, I had eaten most of them! I had enough leftovers that I ate them for dinner tonight and it filled me up. It's a hole-in-the-wall place on the East side of town, but the place was clean, the service was great (and friendly), and the food was good. You got your money's worth. We'll remember this place when we're out and about, especially on Taco Tuesdays! Now I want to try their special! read more

Pollo Asado tacos with handmade tortillas. I added a little lime and salsa verde. The blue is the house salsa that comes with the chips. Then the green and a hot salsa. The hot has some decent heat without being too smoky! The house salsa has nice flavor, good consistency and not chunky at all. Overall the food was tasty but not sure if the meats were lower quality or the pozole was old, my wife and I were uncomfortably bloated after eating this for dinner. Very kind service and good to see an almost full restaurant for dinner time. Salsa that came with the chips could be spicier. The spiciest one, habanero, was not very spicy and I'm usually unable to tolerate moderate to high spice levels. Pozole flavor was prominent without being too salty. Good flavor Ceviche also tasty, but could do with more citrus. Gorditas - corn tortilla and maybe fried in peanut oil, the flavors were overpowering of the inside so it was hard to taste the meat/filling. read more

I've eaten here several times now and I feel like the food and price is pretty reasonable and fair for Flagstaff. There has been one time where I felt my meat was overcooked and dry. Besides that, the food consistently tastes pretty good. The salsas are great too! The ambiance would maybe benefit from an update, but not overly so. The servers are always friendly too. Depending on if it's really busy, sometimes service can be a tad slow, but not majorly. I'd definitely come back and try more options! read more

Noooo. Ugh. Rice tasted like Minute Rice cooked in bland tomato water. Beans are bland and I'm guessing from a can. My red sauce on my chicken enchiladas was spicy, which I liked, but the sauce was grainy and separating. I was expecting a tasty meal and disappointed. I've had better. Although a restaurant, it felt like a drive-thru bad fast food joint. Ugh. I can't get my money back either because I don't want to hurt their feelings. Decided to have lunch here today and .....ugh.....won't make that mistake again! We had eaten here awhile back and it was OK (nothing really special) and figured we'd give it another try. Prices are ridiculous and the food was terrible; took 20 minutes to get a cup of coffee; salsa was a watered down joke .....asked for something "chunkier" and we got nothing but tomatoes and onions .....no heat at all. Chicken enchiladas were dry and tasteless; enchilada sauce was poorly blended powder and water ..... Service was almost nonexistent. Sure don't understand all the good reviews on here. This is a little gem in Flagstaff! The food is delicious, authentic mexican food. Family owned and run. No canned beans and no day old guacamole here. Beans are homemade and the guacamole is made fresh when you order. The chimichanga was wonderful, carnitas was delicious and tacos were perfect. The service was above and beyond! They are working on getting a liquor license, too and are planning to remodel to accommodate more customers. This is a local business worth supporting!!!! A must try! The service was good, the server was very kind and got everything we needed, he was all alone at lunch rush hour though so it might be even better if they add one more server during lunch. To me the food was very comparable to Tacos los Altos east, the food was good but wasn't very original. The chips and salsa were very good though! The food came out super fast and they have good drink choices, lots of bottled sodas. I hope one day they grow and can serve margaritas and other drinks!
