Pollo Asado tacos with handmade tortillas. I added a little lime and salsa verde. The blue is the house salsa that comes with the chips. Then the green and a hot salsa. The hot has some decent heat without being too smoky! The house salsa has nice flavor, good consistency and not chunky at all. The spiciest one, habanero, was not very spicy and I'm usually unable to tolerate moderate to high spice levels. Pozole flavor was prominent without being too salty. I've eaten here several times now and I feel like the food and price is pretty reasonable and fair for Flagstaff. There has been one time where I felt my meat was overcooked and dry. Besides that, the food consistently tastes pretty good. The salsas are great too! The ambiance would maybe benefit from an update, but not overly so. The servers are always friendly too. My red sauce on my chicken enchiladas was spicy, which I liked, but the sauce was grainy and separating. I was expecting a tasty meal and disappointed. I've had better. Decided to have lunch here today and .....ugh.....won't make that mistake again! We had eaten here awhile back and it was OK (nothing really special) and figured we'd give it another try. Prices are ridiculous and the food was terrible; took 20 minutes to get a cup of coffee; salsa was a watered down joke .....asked for something "chunkier" and we got nothing but tomatoes and onions .....no heat at all. Chicken enchiladas were dry and tasteless; enchilada sauce was poorly blended powder and water ..... Service was almost nonexistent. Sure don't understand all the good reviews on here. This is a little gem in Flagstaff! The food is delicious, authentic mexican food. Family owned and run. No canned beans and no day old guacamole here. Beans are homemade and the guacamole is made fresh when you order. The chimichanga was wonderful, carnitas was delicious and tacos were perfect. The service was above and beyond! The service was good, the server was very kind and got everything we needed, he was all alone at lunch rush hour though so it might be even better if they add one more server during lunch. To me the food was very comparable to Tacos los Altos east, the food was good but wasn't very original. The chips and salsa were very good though! The food came out super fast and they have good drink choices, lots of bottled sodas. I hope one day they grow and can serve margaritas and other drinks!
