    Horchata iced latte
    Julie R.

The food here wasn't bad but wasn't my favorite. The green chile pork enchiladas were great, not spicy at all. The chips and salsa were delicious! The beans had either tomato paste or caldo de tomate, something in there, not my favorite. The iced horchata latte was unfortunately not drinkable for me, as it was SO sweet, and at around $10 (if I remember correctly), I was bummed but I didn't ask for something else in place of it because our waitress said we couldn't order anything else because they were closing in 30 minutes (we had already been there for 30 minutes).

Came highly rated. Food was excellent, but service was mediocre, not friendly whatsoever. Wait was 30 minutes so we hung out at the plant store next door. Once seated we had the House Horchata, Elote Dip, salsa and chips, Enchilada Y Huervo, and El Verde Y Huervo.

After a long day of driving to and from the Grand Canyon and exploring out in the sun, one of our friends found MartAnne's nearby as we arrived in Flagstaff. Thank goodness for his decision to come here because it was the food highlight of our whole trip! We were greeted right away at the counter and escorted to a table for our group of 4. [[HIGHLIGHT]]On a Friday night, the restaurant was definitely busy, but we lucked out with finding parking in the lot and also getting a table.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] After a short wait to look through the menus (breakfast, lunch, and dinner are all served all day), we decided on chilaquiles (Christmas), pozole and a tamale, a pork chimichanga, and the LGBLT sandwich with fries - quite an assortment! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The interior decor is a feast for the eyes while waiting for the food. The red walls and decorated with paintings and art throughout, which we enjoyed talking about as we were seated.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food arrived quickly though, and our focus immediately shifted to how delicious everything was! Everything tasted incredibly fresh and homemade in the best ways. The portions were generous and if you know me, you'd know that value makes things taste better lol. Service was excellent, the food was divine, and even the horchata and tres leches that we were enticed to order exceeded expectations. What a gem of a place. Highly recommend.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Very warm and cozy mom-and-pop restaurant in downtown Flagstaff.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The servers were kind and welcoming. The food was delicious, and portions were very generous. One thing to note is that everything on the front menu comes with hash browns, beans, and rice, so you will definitely leave feeling full no matter what you order. It is a bit on the pricey side, but that may just be typical Flagstaff pricing since things do tend to run a little higher here. Their drinks were also a bit expensive, so I stuck with water this time. My boyfriend ordered the iced white chocolate coffee, which was really tasty, though definitely on the sweeter side. I ordered their posole with two over-medium eggs on top. I've never had posole served that way before, but now I might not want it any other way, it was so flavorful and comforting! I would definitely recommend stopping by whether you're a local in Flagstaff or just passing through.

Checked them out for breakfast. Small parking lot can be an issue so you might need to park in the downtown are and walk which isn't too bad. Friendly staff that keeps your water full, ordered food and received our plates pretty fast. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Cute and quaint with local art on the walls for sale.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We enjoyed ourselves and with the food being top notch I'm sure this will be a staple in our traveling when we return.

The first time I ate here was during breakfast. I remember saying that was the best breakfast I've ever had. Came back for the lunch menu and tried the birria tacos. Delicious again! This is quite the local favorite spot for Mexican cuisine. Service was a bit wonky with orders because my aunt's order was wrong but got it corrected quickly. Just sitting watching others in the restaurant, it appeared they got their orders wrong as well. Not sure where the mix up starts either from taking the order or the back of the kitchen. I hope to try this place when in town.

MartAnne's has potential, but my visit was definitely a mix. When we walked in, both Griselda and the younger host looked directly at us and still didn't say hello or acknowledge us. No greeting, no "give me a moment," nothing. It was awkward and honestly not the welcome you expect from a busy restaurant. The whole vibe changed once Sophia, our waitress, came over. She was warm, attentive, and the only staff member who actually made us feel welcomed. She's the reason the experience wasn't a complete miss. Food: about 3.8/5. Pricing is reasonable for the portions. Our order: Vegan tacos (2 a la carte, $5.99 each) One crunchy, one soft. A bit too charred and missing a sauce element. Vegan cheese would level them up. Fish taco plate ($17.99) Easily the best fish tacos I've ever had. Great seasoning, great texture, and the beans and smashed potatoes (no cheese) were excellent. Street carne asada tacos (3 for $17.59) Just okay -- flavorful enough but not memorable. The beans on the side were great. Red chile beef taco ($5.29) Underwhelming and lacked depth. The food had some standout moments, especially the fish tacos and the beans, but the lack of greeting when you walk in really affects the overall experience. Sophia was the highlight of the night with her service. I'd come back for the fish tacos, beans and potatoes but I'd ask to sit in Sophia's section. for sure.

Wow this place was amazing! After a long day traveling, site seeing, and getting in late, the next morning we wanted something hearty and delicious. We found exactly that! The place is very well decorated with artwork from a local artist. Each piece was amazing to look at. The service was amazing! The staff is very friendly, very professional, and explained the nuances of the menu in detail. Amazing food rounded out a stellar experience. The plates were extremely generously portioned, the ingredients seasoned well, presented beautifully, and mixed together in a great ensemble. This is a must visit breakfast/brunch/lunch place in flagstaff.

Their food is spectacular. I had an interesting variation on a Mexican breakfast. It was a chewy-gooey cheese enchilada topped with an over medium fried egg in rich savory enchilada sauce. They were served with rice, beans and FANTASTIC hash browns. I haven't had hash browns this good in over 50 years. Even the flour tortilla, normally meh item, was fresh and tasty EVERY trip to Flag going forward will include a stop at MartAnnes. Service was old school hospitality. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance is busy Mexican diner. Art everywhere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I visited MartAnne's based on a recommendation for breakfast and we were seated right away. Our server was nice and took our order. We ordered a Horchata latte, a vanilla latte, an Emmett, which is vegan and one BBB pancake. Let me just tell you, the food was in incredible and the coffee was just as good. The Horchata latte was gigantic and was practically two drinks in one. My partner and I ate everything and I was very pleased. Our tab was not crazy expensive so that was nice. This ambience of the restaurant was cool and eclectic and I really liked it. Overall, I would come back if I'm ever in town.

    The Emmet- SO yummy!
    Evie S.

Loved The Emmet! A vegan plate with delicious grilled seitan, toasted corn chips, beans, rice, green chili sauce and a tortilla. It was delicious and the grilled seitan is SO good here! The salsa was also very good and interesting. The service was good. Note that they have a 4.5% charge if you use a credit card. You can pay cash to avoid the charge. I enjoyed looking at the art on the walls. My general rating system: 1 star: I would stay away 2 stars: Has some good things about it but I generally don't recommend. 3 stars: Pretty good. I wouldn't go out of my way to go back but a decent place 4 stars: Great place. I would go back. 5 stars: I highly recommend stopping whatever you are doing and making plans to try it out! An Evie favorite!

This place is decorated like Mexico's day of the dead - cool art everywhere. There is definitely a wait here - but we walked around the area and checked out local art galleries. I got the horchata latte and it was so delicious - highly recommend! I always order chilaquiles when I see it and I was a bit disappointed. It wasn't authentic.

Do they have a full bar?

No! I believe they have mimosa's and Bloody Mary's only!

    Do they take reservations?

I'm not sure if they do, we got there for the first time and they were very busy but got us seated and served very quickly!

    Is the Mexican food authentic?

Yes, but it's not Sonoran style Mexican food. It's like a Northern Mexico-New Mexico mix.

    Do they serve mole here?

    Yes

No regrets making a trip to this amazing place. Food was really delicious especially the green chili pork. And yes, portion are huge but make sure you leave rom for their incredible desserts?

I got an email from good ole Yelp asking me to answer this question... Yes! Make sure to leave room for dessert. Always. Although, it will be challenging at MartAnne's as their portions are humongous!

I've eaten here countless times and I'm never disappointed. They serve breakfast and lunch and have a variety of dishes, including vegetarian options. I can truly say there's nothing bad on this menu! The staff is always super welcoming and friendly and the ambiance is refreshing. It's a smaller space and it does get pretty busy, so be aware of that. The best part is that the cafe is family owned, with roots in Playa del Carmen, MX. **July 2026: Tuesday and Wednesday Morning**…read more I usually make it a point to try new places when I travel, so the fact that I ate at Forêt FLG twice in the same trip should say everything about how much I enjoyed it. I was initially drawn in after hearing that Chef Sam Greenhalgh was a semifinalist for the 2024 James Beard Award (Best Chef: Southwest), and I was curious to try his food for myself. On my first visit, my friend and I ordered the Canelés de Bordeaux, Pain au Chocolat, Soft Scrambled Egg Plate, and Breakfast Burrito. We came back again for breakfast and tried the scrambled eggs toast and a savory waffle. Everything we had was delicious, but the Soft Scrambled Egg Plate was truly something special. The eggs were unbelievably light and fluffy, paired with perfectly buttered, toasted bread that somehow felt magical in its simplicity. The heirloom tomatoes and creamy avocado added such a fresh, balanced touch. It's a simple dish, but the execution was exceptional--and honestly, that's what makes it so memorable. I know it sounds a little crazy to return twice for something so simple, but it was just that well done. The breakfast burrito was a strong second favorite. We took it to go as we continued our road trip toward the Four Corners Monument, and it held up really well. It was packed with flavor, and I especially loved that the tortilla had a nice crisp to it. The pastries were also excellent--flaky, buttery, and everything you'd hope for--but for me, that scrambled egg plate is the standout and something I would come back for again and again.

We had a standard queen room both times and it's spacious, bathroom has two sinks one in and one out so yconvenient for two people sharing. The pool is a roundish shape but large enough to swim some laps when there aren't a lot of children there. There are four 2 level inter connected buildings and #4 being the furthest away from the lobby - you can park your car (parking is free) close to any building but it's a bit of a walk on foot. Location is a bit out of town not walking distance to downtown Flagstaff. Rating it a 3 star due to service. On a day when they don't seem to be full they still wouldn't accommodate a late check out by just an hour (at noon instead of 11 am) which I didn't think would have made any difference to them but would have made a huge one for us. Then there is the breakfast. Nice dining room and all, but service was slow and the food came lukewarm, this at a time when it was early and hardly anyone in the dining room. And in addition to that, I had tea and it came in a tea pot with one weak tea bag, and as I like my tea strong I asked for another tea bag in the same pot and was told I'd be charged a second pot of tea ($5). This kind of stinginess just doesn't befit the seeming stature of such a hotel. And finally, the teacup they gave me had a long crack in it - I discovered it when i saw the saucer filing up with tea and didn't think I spilled any in it. The crack was old and stained, not a new one, so it was shocking that no staff had noticed it for this long and cared enough to not continue using it. Let's just say I'd never encountered broken cups like this in lesser priced motels. For this trip to Flagstaff I also had a two-night stay in another hotel downtown and other than the swimming pool, it was much better value and more comfortable with more helpful staff - and no broken tea cups!
