    Crazy good birria tacos!!

Everything was delicious... but these birria tacos are incredible. Sooo so good! Our new go-to when we're in town.

Look for the red food truck along Route 66 in Flagstaff for some amazingly authentic and delicious Mexican food to go! We found the spot by accident one night when we left a restaurant that had too long of a wait, and decided to try it on a whim. We have been back twice since then and it has become one of our favorites in Flagstaff. We probably would've been here more because we're usually looking for a meal on Sunday and they are closed on Sundays. This is a permanent food truck with a smoker and a trailer attached. The building is bright red and near the road so it should be easy to spot. Drive-in and order at the front of the food truck facing the street. The menu is posted right by the window and the specials are taped to the window . After you order and pay, drive around to the back side, or the side not facing the road, to the pick up window. There isn't a spot to eat here so you might need to have a destination in mind or eat in your car like we do. Everything that we have ordered here we have loved. I have ordered the Barbacoa quesadilla twice and I think it's my favorite. This Barbacoa is so well marinated and cooked & tender that I could just eat it plain. On top of that, there's real cheese melted and dripping all over the meat and they serve a large portion - three large pieces of quesadilla. I haven't been able to finish this yet. I ordered guacamole (extra charge) and it was very worth it. Their guacamole is fresh and citrusy. We have also gotten the nachos which are very good, Tacos, and Carne Asada burrito. They have bottled sodas like Jarritos and Mexican Coke for drinks. They ask at the window if you would like medium or spicy salsa. The salsa is free. We usually get some of each. This is a spot I crave even when I am down in the valley and Phoenix. Everybody else on Yelp must agree because this place has mostly five star reviews.

My favorite Mexican food in Flagstaff! I've had nachos a few times and they are some of the best nachos I've ever had. I also had a taco sampler and they were fantastic, but I don't get avocado on my shrimp tacos like I've seen in pics - but outstanding anyways! I've been hitting them up twice a week!

On this Thank You Thursday, Tres Amigos deserves a big thank you for packing such a flavorful punch in a small food truck! Their street tacos and burritos are some of the tastiest around! The burritos are so big, you definitely get a work out while eating one, and The Mayor, is one of the best! Service is always friendly, and I love that you can place your order, and then go wait in your vehicle for the food to be brought to you. You'll find them in the parking lot of the strip mall where Fratelli Pizza is located on Fourth Street! They get really busy around lunch & dinner time, so we always try to hit them for a late lunch, or an earlier dinner!

My parents sometimes wonder why their good Taiwanese-American daughter likes tacos so much. Well, I spend a lot of time in Yuma, Arizona, minutes away from the US-Mexico border. Most of the time, I eat tacos only in Yuma because I'm often disappointed elsewhere. Not this time! First, the menu has a great selection of items for affordable prices. The guy at the window may have been a little skeptical about me ordering the hot salsa (very hot and really good, by the way) but was friendly and helpful. I ordered the asada, al pastor, and carnitas tacos--the al pastor was my favorite, but I enjoyed them all. Now bookmarking to go back!

Excelente! --- Excellent! Incredible tacos and wonderful service! I have a hard time making decisions, so I ordered everything! Well, not everything, but I did try the Carnitas, Al Pastor, Asada and Barbacoa. These tacos were as good as I get in Mexico. Give them a try!

Wow, these tacos were something so amazing this morning!! So much flavor, and the green salsa was so great too. I love how you get the seasoned carne asada meat, crunchy fresh cabbage with stone corn tortillas fresh within a few minutes. Absolutely incredible. They guys who run this spot are so incredibly awesome and kind! This is definitely a taco food truck I'll be visiting again!

My friend and I were passing through Flagstaff again and stopped by. I got the Mole Enchiladas with cheese plate. It comes with refried beans, Spanish rice and a Jarritos soda. Can't beat it!

The burrito was bigger than my soda bottle! Carne Asada Burrito.

Some of the best food I've ever eaten came from a food truck, but this one went above and beyond that! We are from Tennessee passing through Flagstaff to get to California. We wanted something good, cheap, and quick and we found Tres Amigos. We ordered a Carne Asada burrito, Carne Asada quesadilla, and a bean tostada. The food came out quick, was super fresh, and full of amazing flavor. You can tell they love what they do because it shows in their food. Service was also very friendly, and we were treated like locals. We ended up taking most of the food with us because the burrito alone was huge but we aren't even mad about it because we have plenty to nibble on during our travels. Flagstaff is lucky to have this gem! If I ever get the chance to stop in again, I will!

I've been to Tres Amigos a few times and it's such a hidden gem in town. I've gotten carne asada fries, which were tasty and a huge portion. I also tried a friend's breakfast burrito once and it was delicious. I would definitely want to come back again to get my own breakfast burrito. Today, I had the Al pastor and Barbacoa taco. The Al pastor was definitely a winner for me. The service was great and the gentleman working brought the food out to my car when it was ready, which was sweet. It seems like the truck moves around slightly right in that general area, so just keep your eyes out for the red truck.

The mole chicken enchiladas with cheese I had were possibly the best I've ever tasted. They do the mole perfect here.

Thank goodness for his decision to come here because it was the food highlight of our whole trip! We were greeted right away at the counter and escorted to a table for our group of 4. On a Friday night, the restaurant was definitely busy, but we lucked out with finding parking in the lot and also getting a table. After a short wait to look through the menus (breakfast, lunch, and dinner are all served all day), we decided on chilaquiles (Christmas), pozole and a tamale, a pork chimichanga, and the LGBLT sandwich with fries - quite an assortment! The interior decor is a feast for the eyes while waiting for the food. The red walls and decorated with paintings and art throughout, which we enjoyed talking about as we were seated. The food arrived quickly though, and our focus immediately shifted to how delicious everything was! Everything tasted incredibly fresh and homemade in the best ways. The portions were generous and if you know me, you'd know that value makes things taste better lol. Service was excellent, the food was divine, and even the horchata and tres leches that we were enticed to order exceeded expectations. What a gem of a place. Highly recommend.

The staff here are very friendly. It's very colorful inside with Mexican art. Paintings line the walls by local artists and yes they are for sale! Everything on the menu looked delicious! I wanted to try everything! They're known for their chilaquiles. They have a motto: This is the place that chilaquiles was built. But I went against my better judgement and ordered Jerry el Mujeriego (enchilada filled with pork green chile, cheese, sour cream, cilantro, and topped with two over medium eggs. They're served with rice, beans, potatoes, and tortilla). My wife ordered Juevos Benedictos, eggs Benedict. When they brought our plates out, I couldn't believe how much food they gave us. The plates were full to the edges. Of course it came down to the flavors. My plate was just IOK. I was really expecting flavors that would pop, something that would stand out Mexican! Everything was kind of bland. I hate to say it, but it was as if they were catering to non Mexicans. I'm not Mexican, but I'm in a Mexican restaurant and I want bold Mexican flavors. Granted, they give you a lot of food. Maybe that's more important to some people. Now I wish I ordered their chilaquiles! My wife's Benedict was delicious however! The eggs were perfectly cooked and her dish was seasoned and had flavor. So our visit wasn't a total miss. I'm torn on how to rate them. A 3 or 4? I wish there were half ratings then I'd rate them a solid 3.5! I'll round it up!
