This place rocks! This place has amazing seafood Mexican style! We came here on a whim and of course only after reading their stellar Yelp reviews. We only wanted seafood because we've been eating a lot of meat lately. While browsing the menus, we noticed there was a different restaurant name on the menu. Apparently there must've been a change of ownership or something. Of course chips and salsa were brought out to start filling our bellies. After browsing the menu, we ordered Baja Mar (shrimp and octopus ceviche) tostada, Mahi Mahi, shrimp, and fried fish tacos! OMG, they were good. The ceviche was one of the best we ever had. The tacos were delicious and stuffed with ingredients. Ask for the orange sauce! It puts them over the top. Of course I had to wash it down with a cerveza! The food was so good, we returned the very next day for lunch. We had to order the Baja Mar again because it was our favorite item on the menu! It was our last great meal of our trip! In fact the two times we ate here was the highlight of our trip! We will certainly be back whenever we visit Flagstaff! read more

We told the waitress 3 times the table wanted water and she only brought two out. And when we ordered margaritas she brought more drinks than there were people at the table. She also never came back out to check on us after we got drinks. The music outside is also wayyyy too loud. read more

I visited during a holiday weekend, and while the restaurant was busy, it wasn't as crowded as other spots in the area. One of its best features is its location right in the heart of downtown, though parking can be a challenge. Another plus is that they welcome dogs on a leash at their outdoor tables. The food was good and the prices are fair for the area, but the service was very slow we waited over 40 minutes for our meals. We ended up staying mainly because we had our dog with us and didn't want the hassle of finding another place. read more

Recently visited Flagstaff and stopped for lunch on a Saturday. If you love Mexican food and seafood - this is the place for you. Outstanding food and drinks! I had a Cadillac Margarita was an excellent cocktail. (you only need one - perfectly strong but not too strong) I also ordered a grilled shrimp taco. It was the best taco I've ever had. Not traditional- it was crispy/ grilled on the outside and melted cheese on the inside. It was huge / I only had one. Shared rice and beans with my husband. He also had one fish taco and we were both very full. Also had chips, queso and guacamole for the table. Highly recommend- sorry I didn't think to take pictures of my food - I was too busy eating it. We were pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food and the flavors of the dishes this place has to offer. We ordered some fish tacos, taco gobernador and a quesadilla. Portions are big, the flavors are right, and the service was good. The lady taking our order was really friendly and helpful. They have outside seating, and with Flagstaff's weather, it's nice to sit outside and enjoy the view of the mountains. Of course, they have other choices, but if you love seafood, don't miss out! The grilled fish, mahi-mahi and shrimp tacos are so tasty with the perfect toppings, the Mary Tierra quesadilla, which is Carne Asada and shrimp is the perfect surf and turf, and the refreshing Baja Mar ceviche, which is shrimp and octopus, is so refreshingly flavorful! You might think it's a bit pricey, but definitely worth it for the freshness and the portion size! Typically you can find this food truck at the Chevron station on the corner of Highway 180 and Forest and at the new Americana Motor Hotel on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Today, my friend had them set up at Findlay Toyota, and you can also find them at the occasional event here and there, like the Museum of Northern Arizona. Depending on how much of a lineup they have, you might need to wait a little bit, but everything is prepared as quickly as possible without sacrificing quality! We were walking around old town with our dog and looking for a restaurant with a dog friendly patio when we came upon this neat place. The patio was spotless and the overall look was good. We ordered a "bowl" with protein and that was a slight disappointment. They could not guarantee that the chicken would not be cross contaminated from shrimp (my partner has a severe shellfish allergy) but they were very upfront about it. She had the bowl without protein and enjoyed it. I had 2 of the mahi "shells" which are actually soft tacos. They were excellent. I hate to leave a poor review, but I was so frustrated with the service. There was a language barrier and I am not even quite sure what I paid for because my order was completely wrong and the receipt was in Spanish. It took approximately 15 minutes for the guy who took our order to figure out the device he was taking my order on (he even had to call his boss). I also had my newborn with me standing outside in the windy weather. I ordered 2 barbacoa tacos, 2 grilled mahi tacos, rice & beans. I received 1 barbacoa taco, 2 grilled mahi tacos and french fries. I did not realize the mistake in the order until I got back to my hotel room. I was starving at that point and my newborn was crying so I didn't have the patience nor the time to go back and complain or ask for a refund. But I wish I did. read more

We ate at the food truck at the Farmers Market. Let me tell you, I have been all over the pacific and south eating shrimp, but this shrimp got both me and my wife saying " wow this is good shrimp" I got the ranchers grilled shrimp quesadilla and my wife got shrimp tacos. The quesadilla was bomber. It had the cheese fried on the tortilla then had all the toppings inside. It was kind of like an open face burrito. The only kicker was we got it at the end of the day so it took a little longer than you would expect for the food to come out of the food truck. I went to Baja Mar for dinner while visiting Flagstaff for a belated birthday. Everything was above my expectations, which were high, considering my experience with the owners on previous trips. The fish was buttery deliciousness. I never eat the sides of rice or beans at a restaurant; maybe one bite, or I sub with a different side. The rice was full of flavor and moist, without being mushy, and they were thoughtfully plated. The beans were so delicious, I ate every bite. 10 stars. I'm really picky about Mexican food and fried shrimp tacos since I'm from Northern Mexico and I'm used to really good fresh Mexican seafood. These Jumbo battered fried shrimp tacos are very high quality, despite being in Flagstaff. This food cart specializes in seafood but I also tried a "carne asada" taco assuming it wasn't going to be good, but it tasted really good. It wasn't real carne asada in the sense that it was pan fried rather than chargrilled over an open fire, seasoned with only salt. However, it was tender and the seasonings were really nice, like a seasoned salt. My only complaint is I wish they served tacos with cabbage not lettuce, as is more the norm in Mexico. But this is just my personal preference. They also Have non fried healthy stuff like ceviche and seafood cocktails. Also VERY friendly nice people. Go eat there and support them! read more

I ordered the seafood stew/soup and it was chock-full of perfectly cooked shrimp, calamari with fresh vegetables, and a delicious broth!
