We heard mixed reviews about Bigfoot BBQ but we still wanted to give it a try! The place is pretty spacious. It's a counter-order, seat yourself vibe. They have a table in the dining area with 3 or 4 different self serve BBQ sauces + ketchup. There are lots of TV's, so it would be a great place to sit and watch a sports game, if that's your vibe. The girls at the counter were friendly and helpful. We ended up splitting BBQ nachos topped with brisket. The brisket is available on the nachos with an up-charge. The nachos were tasty, but the brisket was not worth it.... It tasted great, but they really skimped on the meat for the nachos. I felt that it was not worth the price.. Then we got a peach cobbler topped with ice cream and their chocolate cake. Both were great. It's hard to say which was better! I did like how crisp the top of the cobbler was. Sometimes cobbler tends to be soggy, but that was not the case here! Sad note: I was so hungry that I forgot to take pics. I will come back to this place every time I come to Flagstaff. The service was fantastic. They recommended stuff, and were kind and gracious. The bison burger was terrible... everything seemed so cheap on it with no flavor The nachos would have been much better if they used real cheese and not the plastic cheese. Only one thing of which you need to be aware! Bigfoot BBQ is in the basement. Follow the signs. There is an ADA compliant elevator next to the stairs. The last time that I reviewed Big Foot I believed that it had earned just a 4 star rating. Some that had to do with service which has continued to improve. I am not exactly what they have done over the many years that I have been eating here, but the food has improved. Not just the taste, but the presentation and quality. While I expected their BBQ creations to be excellent, it was the cornbread that really blew Dana's tastebuds away. She took a bite, her eyebrows raised slightly (sound familiar @taylormarie_91? ), and all she said was, "Oh, dude!" Nuff said, I guess. In addition to many of the BBQ options you'd expect, they also offer "Mac 'N' Cheese Balls", "Fried Pickle Chips", "Cobbler", and their "Truck Stop Creations" which are "Influenced, inspired and outright stolen from some of the most auspicious gas stations across the South." Bigfoot is known by many as the "Hide and Seek World Champion", so it shouldn't be unexpected that his BBQ joint can be a little challenging to find. While I have no advice about where to catch up with him for an autograph or a selfie, I can tell you that his hidden lair is housed on the lower floor of the "Old Town Shops" on the corner of Leroux and Birch.
