    Fun atmosphere

Stumbled across this bar this past Saturday while on a little weekend getaway in Flag. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were drawn in by the lively atmosphere and stayed for the fantastic beer & cider selection.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They have several coolers filled with beer, cider, and wine; all of which can either be enjoyed onsite or to-go. Bartenders were very friendly as well as fellow patrons. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There was ample seating inside as well as patio seating out front.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Definitely recommend coming here; I know this will be on our must stop list every summer when we come to Flag.

    Cheers!

Added bonus: If you're hungry, you can order Pizzicletta for delivery!

Tons of solid beer choices and friendly staff. Vibe is definitely casual and fun, with a cool little patio out front. We stop in every time we're in town and enjoy a few cold beers. Always fun exploring the absolutely massive selection of cans in the coolers.

Just walked in here unexpectedly on a Saturday night. Pretty chill vibes as it's a convenience store along with a bar area. Love the concept!!! My boyfriend and I had the Grand Canyon Amber Ale. Although I didn't finish my drink, it was still tasty and only $4.50 for a 16 oz. They also sell coffee but I didn't try the coffee or anything else. We did purchase some snacks for the road though. Very casual vibe. I saw people come and go. Or stay for a drink and chit chat for a bit.

This place is a gem. A true local hangout with an astonishing selection of beers, and other drinks. We wandered in, early Saturday, had a quad latte... one of the best coffee drinks in flagstaff. The coffee was so big, they served it in a pint glass! The locals are amazing. We bellied up to the bar, and started talking to a couple guys about the 70 mile bike ride around Morman lake. Apparently this is the start and end point for the ride! The lady behind the bar gave us some great hiking tips... I love this place... Drop coffee $2... quad latte $4.25... this coffee puts Starbucks to shame.

It was around noon on a Wednesday. Bjork played on the speakers. Only a few people sat at the bar. A woman sat at her laptop, wearing hoop earrings and a flower-printed blouse. Three other men hung out. Two were already drinking beer, but quietly, to themselves, looking completely untroubled. The other guy was drinking a soda. I found a stool at the bar and looked around. There was a convenient store section at the corner to the right of the door, with the necessary supplies: socks, licorice, lights, zigzag papers, energy drink and candy bars. *An ATM machine sat beside it because this bar only takes cash. There' was a long aisle of single drinks equipped with all the alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks invented in the 21st century. With breakfast burritos made locally. Overall, I liked it here. It was cozy. Personal. I ordered a coffee. Was given a big mug filled with dark liquid, room for cream, and a big metal jug containing the cream. I felt really situated, sipping my hot coffee slowly, as I tried to wake up, on this particularly cloudy day. I saw menu up front reeling a list of special beers. Happy Hour was from 4 - 7 daily. All drafts: $3.00. The Mexican selection: Always $3.00. I recalled being here on the weekends. This place would always be jam-packed, as layers of people would be surrounding the L-shaped bar of ten stools, but the bartenders would always find a way to keep everyone happy. I got saki on one awesome night here with a friend, and we trotted to the Orpheum across the street to attend a film festival. That was a good night. Just as pleasant as being here at noon on a Wednesday.

The restaurant itself was clean and had a stylish modern-meets-vintage vibe that made the atmosphere feel both cozy and upscale. Their cocktail menu was especially unique. I ordered the Vendetta Ride, and it was easily one of my favorite drinks of the night: light, slightly sweet, and finished with just the right kick. I absolutely loved it. The menu features creative contemporary American cuisine with an emphasis on sharing plates, which made the experience even more fun. We ordered two appetizers, two mains, and a dessert, and overall everything was excellent. My only critique would be the Duck Taquitos. The duck flavor was not there, and the mesquite mole sauce leaned too sweet for my taste. Aside from that, every dish impressed us. Overall, it was a fantastic meal and a great dining experience. I would highly recommend this spot if you're in Flagstaff!

I've spent years seeking out restaurants worth traveling for. I don't just eat to eat--I plan…read moreentire trips around food. Hospitality matters to me just as much as what's on the plate because great restaurants don't just serve meals; they create memories. Unfortunately, Shift became one I'll never forget for the wrong reasons. Our day couldn't have been further from what the staff assumed. We spent the morning hiking, went back to rest, explored a local bookstore, grabbed ice cream, and walked to our dinner reservation. Not one alcoholic drink had been consumed by anyone in our group the entire day. Not one. We also had a child with us. The only conversation we had with the host before being seated was asking whether it was okay that we had arrived about twenty minutes early for our reservation. We were polite, excited, and looking forward to dinner. Then my husband ordered a beer. The waitress immediately refused because she claimed the hostess believed my husbands speech and mannerisms meant he was intoxicated. Read that again. A guest who had consumed zero alcohol all day was judged to be intoxicated. I understand the responsibility restaurants have. If someone is genuinely impaired, absolutely don't serve them. Every responsible restaurant should protect its guests and its liquor license. But there is an equally important responsibility that seems to have been forgotten: making sure your judgment is actually right before labeling someone. There was no bar crawl. No cocktails beforehand. No wine tasting. No brewery stop. No hidden drinks. There wasn't even one drink. We left feeling embarrassed, confused, and honestly caught off guard. Not because a beer was refused, but because a person was reduced to an assumption based solely on how they naturally presented themselves. Here's what makes the experience even harder to understand. After leaving Shift, we walked to Atria, where we remained for approximately two hours. We talked, enjoyed ourselves, and spent the evening there without issue. If someone in our party had truly been intoxicated wouldn't that have been obvious there as well? It wasn't. Food can be good. Cocktails can be creative. Service can be polished. None of that matters if hospitality disappears the moment someone doesn't fit your expectation of what a guest "should" look or sound like. Maybe perhaps because we weren't locals we seemed off ? To anyone considering Shift, especially if you're traveling with someone whose speech, mannerisms, or disability could be misunderstood, know that this was our experience. I hope the restaurant reflects on what happened and asks itself a difficult question: How many guests have we mistaken for being intoxicated when, in reality, they simply communicated differently? Because that's not just a missed beer. That's a missed opportunity to treat someone with dignity. I came to Flagstaff excited to discover one of its most " creative" restaurants. Instead, I left wondering how quickly a restaurant built on hospitality could make a guest feel so unwelcome. Simply , because my husband is a restaurant manager in Las Vegas, who has managed restaurants like Yellowtail, Herbs&Rye, Gjelina, and Edo we left out of respect for the industry. However, we should have got our deposit automatically refunded. Next time, take the time. Take the time to care. If a staff member is under this assumption, management intervene not to just follow said assumption and repeat what she said, but to hold an actual conversation with your guest, to evaluate , to observe, to understand. I promise you, that would change so many things for you.

From the food to the service, everything came together beautifully. We started with two appetizers: the Soup of the Day, which was a mushroom bisque, and the Brie Bruschetta. The mushroom bisque was deliciously creamy, rich, and full of flavor, the perfect comforting start to the meal. The Brie Bruschetta was such a fun combination of flavors. The creamy, slightly tangy Brie paired beautifully with the sweetness of the fig and green apple, while the balsamic glaze added just the right amount of acidity. The little touch of black salt brought everything together. Sweet, savory, creamy, and slightly tangy all in one bite. I loved the combination! For my entrée, I ordered the Pan-Seared Salmon, served with creamy orzo, spinach, mascarpone, lemon, and fried shallots. The salmon was fresh, perfectly cooked, and seasoned really well. The creamy orzo was rich without overpowering the salmon, and the lemon gave the dish a nice brightness. Overall, it was flavorful and really well balanced. My boyfriend ordered the Mushroom Ravioli and added chicken for some extra protein. The ravioli was handmade and absolutely adorable! They weren't the traditional square-shaped ravioli you usually see. These were more like little pasta sacks, filled with mushroom and tied at the top. So cute! And, more importantly, they were delicious. The wild mushroom filling and creamy sauce made for a rich, comforting dish, and the added chicken made it a heartier meal. And then came dessert, the Chocolate Torta! It was so creamy and decadent that it practically melted in my mouth. If you're a chocolate lover, this is definitely one to save room for. Teatro describes it as dark chocolate ganache with whipped cream and rum-caramel sauce, and it was every bit as indulgent as it sounds. A special shout-out to Alex, our server, who was so sweet and attentive throughout the entire dinner. Our water glasses were never empty, which is one of those little details that makes you feel genuinely taken care of. Overall, we had a wonderful dinner at Teatro. The food was flavorful and thoughtfully prepared, the presentation was beautiful, and the service was excellent. It felt like a special night out without being stuffy or pretentious. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in Flagstaff. If you're looking for a great Italian dinner downtown, put Teatro on your list, you won't regret it!
