Over the years I have visited this diner many times on trips to the Flagstaff area. It is always a…read morefun visit with classic photos of movies and TV shows and movie stars from the 50s and 60s. Besides the retro vibe there are plenty of outer space items (thus the Galaxy name) and since it is a short drive from Lowell Observatory where Pluto was discovered and near the meteor crater where astronauts trained for their trip to the moon, the connection is awesome. We were seated right away and the wait staff was on a roll, serving the very busy crowd on a Saturday afternoon. I am always impressed that this place has OVER 100 flavors of milkshakes and malts. I had the open face turkey sandwich with gravy, mashed potatoes, and veg--I had them the hold the cranberry sauce since I am not a fan of that sauce. My friend had a huge plate of onion rings. The only down side was that the turkey breast was not the chunk of turkey I was expecting, just a few thin slices of deli turkey breast (like you would have in a sandwich) and the gravy was too salty. The parking is in the back of the restaurant. Fyi--the pavement between the car park and the front door is broken and uneven and was a challenge for my friend and her walker, so the mobility impaired may find it difficult to navigate.

They're were only 3 other tables besides us & yet the service slow. The you g lady waiting on us seemed quiet or tired or like she didn't want to be there. She didn't mention when she seated us that the waffle maker was broken or that certain items weren't available...until we tried to order them. When we got our food, literally all of it was cold. I ordered oatmeal which came as a large bowl w/ plastic to go containers of nuts, raisins, & brown sugar & a small container of milk. It tastes fine, but it was very off-putting to eat cold/almost hard oatmeal. My friend got 3 eggs, toast, & spuds which were like thinly sliced potatoes. He, also, said his food was cold & felt that (unlike my huge portion of cold oatmeal) the portion was small. I didn't bother taking pics. I didn't bother trying to send things back or speak to anyone in charge because it was such slow service to begin with. This place is cute inside. It has potential, but the food & service were a miss. Skip it.

In defense to the Bar and owner regarding Veronica's post…read more.... We went there on a busy night and I completely understand why the bar owner would be on edge about kids running freely there. My experience was that parents when I was there thought it was a free playground and while they got drunk just let their kids and I mean very young d just run around and had very little adult supervision. I think parents now a days have little respect for others space when it comes to their kids and I witnessed this first hand. I feel sorry for a newly started bar owner that had to be the bad one to tell a parent to actually parent their kids!!! It's not their place to do this but they are left with this responsibility because of the liability and ownership. Veronica you would like one of those parents that I explained that just let their kids run around and have NO respect for others. Next thing you know your kids are hurt or missing then who's to blame!!!!!!!! Anyways back to the BAR we had a lovely night the band was amazing and the food was also amazing even given that they were packed and alittle under staffed but somehow managed to deliver food in a fast fashion and it was sooo goooood! Later in the night going back to my Veronica post there was a really young child running around parent thought it was cute that he was writing on the bars menus and going up to random men and women and on the dance floor at a late hour doing burnouts. Honestly made me alittle nervous but I thought the bar handled it extremely well and allowed to kid to be a kid. So kudos to the new owners and ignore the Karen's that dont control their kids. I live the atmosphere of this colorful place. There is a separate lounge area that has colorful star lanterns and comfy sofas, arched windows and seating that faces out so you can watch people as the walk around downtown. They have a pretty nice cocktail and coffee menu and the drinks are not terribly priced. I had a mango mezcal drink, and it was yummy. Every time we have come here, the place has been pretty full, so it appears that the locals really like this bar, too!

It's also right next door to another coffee / pastry shop. It was very busy when we came by on Sunday around 10am. I was told it would be 10-20minutes on my drink because they were so backed up, but I wasn't in a rush and didn't mind waiting. They had some seasonal drinks available so I chose the pumpkin pie chai. It was nice, perfect for the chilly autumn morning in Flagstaff.
