Loved it .We have been wanting to try this since we heard the concept was coming. We just haven't made our we up to Flagstaff in a while! The biggest winner is the ambiance, decor, vibes. It is so cozy feeling and the bronze touches are beautiful. We went for breakfast. Service was fast considering there was a large gathering upstairs for the flagstaff film festival. This is not a sit and order place. You get in line and order. The line ran at a decent pace. The front has the pastries and drinks (coffee, alcohol et). We got the sweet potato bread from the front. Let me tell you! Amaaaazing. It was so soft and flavorful. It was just what I needed to pair with my coffee later at single speed coffee roasters. That is another thing I liked about this place, is they carried the local beans. Single speed is a legit good place and if you carry their beans your coffee has a great start/base. As we go to sear ourselves it's pretty full at 8:30 ish am but there was still seating. Like I mentioned earlier very impressed with service, speed considering how full it was. As we find our seating, I see the cures gelato station. I take a peek outside and it has very relaxing vibes for seating and their pizza oven is outside. We sat inside. Then went to grab water. Loved the self serve water tap because it offered sparkling . I've never seen that (I'm sure it's not unheard of), but I like the ability to just pour sparkling water if I want it. Then we had the breakfast. I had the down under with bacon. I had been craving a classic breakfast for sometime. Eggs were moist and scrambled the way I like and seasoned well. Potatoes were tasty. Toast was simple with butter but reminded me of home/childhood. Bacon was cooked perfect, not too well done or undercooked. I almost skipped out on the black beans but glad I didn't. I don't usually have beans with my breakfast but glad I did. It's a perfect small serving (maybe 2 tablespoons) that is packed with yummy flavor. I'm always afraid to be disappointed with underwhelming flavor of beans but it was really surprisingly good. I was happy with my meal Then my boyfriend had the breakfast burrito . It comes with egg, potato, green chili and cheddar with a side of hot sauce. I didn't taste his but based on the appearance and his opinion could use a little improvement. The ratio of potatoes to eggs was not proportional. It had wayyyyy too much potatoes. It's hard to eat a breakfast burrito with too much potatoes . He said the flavor was there and the tortilla was nice but unfortunately too much potato. The hot sauce was not needed. Reminded us of some type of Taco Bell sauce. Overall experience was great. It has great vibes! I would come again and do breakfast and try their dinner service in the future. read more

I have a meeting downtown with a potential new client. Inspection at 2pm. I've been wanting to try Sosta, formerly Bricks, and I'm sold. Ordered the Tre Colore Sandwich with goat cheese on the side. I wanted the goat cheese with the salad. Sandwich was so good. I want a side of the roasted red peppers next time. I would have had a glass of white wine if it were not for my meeting. Next time. We were passing through Flagstaff driving up to Page from Pheonix. This restaurant popped up on recommendations, and once I saw the house made pasta, I was on my way! We parked a block away on the street, next time i will check thier lot. It's a narrow entrance from the street, but it has a dozen spots. I ordered the Carbonara Fettuccine add mushrooms and Chicken. O M G. So good. My friend got the chicken sandwich, which I assume was fine. I honestly was enraputured by my pasta. They only had one type of cookie available after lunch, I should have ordered at the same time. I got iced tea, which has refills if you ask. Gorgeous Dining room with a fireplace and an upstairs. I came here for breakfast around 830am on a Saturday. I was worried it would be really busy/no parking, but that was not case. Lots of parking and no wait to order when we arrived. By the time we left around 930am it was busy though. There is upstairs, downstairs and outdoor seating in this rustic, casual restaurant. They offer pastries, coffees, breakfast, lunch and dinner (weekends only). I tried the vegan burrito and added eggs. It was awesome, and large enough for two meals or to split. They also had an ANTI-pumpkin spice latte drink that was really delicious too. Sosta was an awesome find for breakfast. We went to Sosta after a day of hiking in Flag. Super darling historic building turned into a restaurant. Lots of beautiful charm all over the place from copper accents, an old wood fireplace, to floral wallpapers. They seated us quickly and our food came out within 30 minutes. The servers were tentative without hovering, which I love. The food at Sosta feels like it's really trying to be sophisticated and simple. The items on the menu reminded me of traditional Italian cuisine- focused on using few ingredients of extremely high quality. We got the Spicy Pasta with Chicken and the Balsamic Prosciutto Arugula Pizza. The pasta was very fresh and the sauce was delish. The pizza was also good. Expect to spend around $25 per person here on a plate (not including drinks). I don't tend to be the person to leave a sparkling review at 4 stars, but there was just something missing from the food. I kept wanting some salt, or shredded parmigiana and pepper flakes. While the experience over all was good, I'm not sure it was amazing enough for me to come back. read more

Americano is good but impressive, but I don't like the matcha latte, matcha was not strong enough and tasted a little bit watery. Food was good, most of the dishes are vegan, the side salad of the breakfast sandwich was flavorful but light, and the sandwich was also refreshing. The hash bowl was also amazing, I liked the pesto sauce on top, and the flavor of sweet potatoes and potatoes were also great. We were in today and while the coffee drinks were great, the food was not. We ordered a child's French toast and three breakfast burritos. One of them was missing the green chilis and had very few potatoes. Two of them were folded very awkwardly. The third one came out considerably later than the other 2. It was folded right but the scrambled eggs were soupy. I was super bummed because last time the food was great! It's one thing if it was inexpensive but our bill was over $90 and it was not worth it. read more

I really enjoyed the atmosphere on the back patio. We already had a dinner stop prior so just tried their caesar salad but it was good. It was on the mustard-y side, had crunchy pumpkin seeds and housemade cashew parmesan. I really liked the texture and crispiness of the salad in particular. I have had vegan caesar salad dressings and cashew based cheeses that I liked better but I still really enjoyed it. It is a few minutes walk out of the busier area of downtown Flagstaff and surrounded by houses which made it less busy and less noisy. We really appreciated the peacefulness and lack of lines and crowds. They have a vegan pizza and vegan pasta on the menu and has a vegan cookie in the bakery which we didn't try because it was a stop in the midst of a little dinner hop :) My general rating system: 1 star: I would stay away 2 stars: Has some good things about it but I generally don't recommend. 3 stars: Pretty good. Honestly this place checked just about all the boxes for me and will definitely be somewhere I come back to when I'm in town, and baffled that I haven't heard of it before now! There was literally just one thing (ok employee) that kept it from being 5 stars... First, we walked in to order at the counter and the line moved efficiently and there were plenty of menus accessible, which is always nice! We decided on the carbonara for my fiance and I got the chicken Caesar wrap when I saw they use a cashew dressing (ya girl is allergic to lactose - this bit becomes important later). On the board was a winter drink special of a hot chocolate with chai, cinnamon, etc... My fiancé knows this is right up my alley, so he asks me about it at the counter, and we end up making conversation for a bit with the person taking our order who apparently came up with the drink! She was all around very friendly and great, and added the drink in for us, with the addition of a shot of espresso per her recommendation The entire place is cute, but the weather was too good to not enjoy the patio and the hot chocolate/ mocha thing was SO GOOD!! One little problem though.... I'm almost done with it when my fiance suddenly states "wait, did we ever specify not regular milk in that?" .... damnit. We're usually really good about this, and I bet the woman taking our order usually asks about milk preference, but all of us were distracted by conversation and chatting flavors. At this point, I'm like "welp, the next 24 hrs will be not fun...." (bear with me here, this is pertinent to the one star off for experience, and not because I had dairy. That I take responsibility for) I don't carry lactaid on me because, well, in the 17 years I've had the allergy, I've never used it. Granted, taking lactaid after the fact doesn't do nearly as much as taking it ahead of time, if anything. But still, I think "maybe someone on staff has some on the off chance that'll it'll help decrease how bad this is about to be even 1%" So I ask and the woman I talk to is beyond understanding and helpful, going around asking everyone if they have a lactose allergy and happen to carry lactaid on them. Here's where my experience soured a bit. (Also bear with me with assumed genders as identifiers and my apologies to anyone who's non-binary) From where I was standing I could kinda see and hear the expo counter, but they weren't looking over to where I was to see me. And one of the employees (tall female with glasses) proceeded to talk smack about the idiot who ordered dairy when they're allergic, laughing about it with the other employee (shorter male). Not a good look yall. Especially with how open that area is to the customer area, and directly beside the bathroom. You never know who's within earshot. Back to the great - the food came out and was BOMB! And, the silver lining to having the whole milk drink is that since I knew I was f*cked anyways, I could have a bite or 2 of my fiancé's pasta which had a butter sauce (the cheese on it was sheep, so actually fine there). Y'all, if you don't have any allergies that keep you from getting that dish, DO IT!! I miss pasta sauces like that so much and both of us loved it so much. Okay right off the top this is my favorite coffee spot in Flagstaff. The coffee is delicious, the menu is interesting and everything I've tried has been delicious. Sadly, I have two complaints this last trip. First off do not ask me to leave a tip while I am paying for my food. Tips are EARNED by providing excellent service. Case in point I added the customary 20% to my bill this last trip and received poor service. It was not particularly busy but my food took a long time to come to the table and it was COLD. I had the server reheat it but seriously they had already been tipped! I will be skipping the automatic tip from now on and will leave cash on the table if the server actually provided excellent service! I will be back but with a different attitude. read more

What a perfect place for a summer night's dinner! We sat outside on the patio with a bottle of wine, two pasta dishes, and two pizzas. I noticed that there was almost no one sitting indoors, for good reason, as it was lovely outside. There is table service at dinner, which I prefer to the counter service at lunch. The wine selection is small, but well curated. The carbonara is worth the whole trip, but the lemon thyme fettuccine was no slouch! I do enjoy the Pizzicleta pizzas, so I'm happy to enjoy them in b an elevated setting. I'll be back! read more

The restaurant looks amazing, the atmosphere is great, and dinner is good, but thats about where the benefits end. We went for breakfast and genuinely it was the worst breakfast I've ever eaten. $55 dollars for the two of us is absurd for a coffee and two egg sandwiches. The sandwiches were terrible. The egg was flavorless, the melted cheese was hard, and the whole thing just tasted like arugula. The service is fine, but why am I tipping before I get any service? I tipped 20%, expected a waiter, just to end up getting my own water and not being checked on once? Which is fine, but I wouldn't have tipped for... Overall, dinner is good, but breakfast was abysmal. Would never go again. read more

Maybe about 15-20 minutes for a sandwich and yogurt. Seems like there is room for efficiency. Food: excellent quality! However, I think everything was under-seasoned. Even missing Salt and pepper. The blueberry oat bar was nice, but again lacking flavor, like adding a little lemon or spice. Same with yogurt granola with berries. Berries were bland and I wish some honey or something was used to brighten the dishes. Overall, very vanilla. Love the space though, so will be back to try something else. read more

When you walk in it was a little confusing, but you have to look at the menu that are at the front counter and then order at the front counter cashier and then she'll give you a number and I'll come find you in the seating area. My friend ordered avocado toast and it was served swiftly. She said there was no flavor even in the avocado mash. It took several minutes to find someone to ask for salt and pepper to help. My burrito didn't arrive for nearly 30 more minutes. My food was also bland. It came with two kinds of potatoes the Yukon were still raw and the sweet potatoes were overwhelmingly stuffed in the burrito. I used ample salt and pepper but was overall it was a waste of money. Sosta truly has the best ambience in flagstaff. The building is beautiful, with patios in the front and back. While the food is quite good, you definitely pay a premium for the location. The prices might be less noticeable if they came with some service, but after hitting the counter to order, you're pretty much on your own for everything. A true gem in Flagstaff -- pasta perfection. Sosta is incredible for lunch. I can't speak to breakfast or dinner yet, but based on what I've experienced, this place easily earns a spot in my Top 5 pasta experiences -- and that includes living in Italy for six months and traveling the world in search of great pasta. I've had the Rosmarino and it's nothing short of divine -- sweet, rich, savory -- hitting every note on the palate. The Pepito Pesto is also excellent: nutty, zesty, and full of flavor. I typically add their house pancetta, and it's always executed perfectly. Portions are spot on -- satisfying without going overboard. The pasta is handmade and made to order -- and you can absolutely tell. The texture, the freshness, the love that goes into it -- it's all there. Some may prefer dried pasta, but if you're a fresh pasta fan like me, you'll be in heaven. Drinks have been well-crafted and balanced. And don't skip dessert -- their salted caramel vegan gelato is now my favorite post-pasta treat. The setting? Storybook-worthy. Nestled in a historic carriage house with warm lights, lush foliage, and a private, tranquil vibe that feels miles away from the bustle. While I can only speak to their pasta offerings, they are, hands down, the best I've had in Flagstaff. Shift Kitchen is the only other contender in my book. Can't wait to return and try the rest of the menu. An absolute must-visit for any pasta lover. read more

Stopped in for breakfast on a Sunday before heading to the Grand Canyon. Really pretty space with a solid menu and plenty of seating, which made it easy to fit our group of six. I had the avocado toast with an almond milk latte, my partner ordered a plate that had eggs, bacon and toast with an oat milk latte, and my son had the kids French toast. Everything was delicious. While this sort of American cafe food isn't my usual thing, this place does stand out on two accounts: 1. Their milk-based cafe drinks are _really_ foamy. The matcha latte (with whole milk) was perhaps the most well-blended with foam I've ever had. 2. The dishes are very well-seasoned and have unusually fresh ingredients. While the hash bowl doesn't have the crunch of a hash brown, the potatoes are perfectly tender, the herbs are just enough without being overwhelming, and the other vegetables are very fresh. read more

We went to Sosta for the first time last weekend and had high hopes, as we were staying at the inn next door and saw the packed parking lot for a few days so we figured it must be good. We made same day dinner reservations and requested a table by the fireplace for ambiance. When we arrived they couldn't seat us close to it, but at least put us nearby so we could sort of see it, and mentioned it wasn't even on but they would put it on- strange given it was 30 degrees outside. We sat for over 10 mins before a server came over to greet us, and she didn't apologize for the delay. It looked busy (downstairs where we sat was 75% full and there's also an upstairs section) so we get it, but just saying I'm sorry for the wait and I'll be right over goes a LONG way. We asked what kind of vodka the had since we typically order vodka martinis with dinner, and she listed one odd flavor; when we asked about a plain option she hastily replied that they could only make the cocktails listed on the limited menu as they don't have a full bar. This was our first disappointment as the only one on that menu that appealed to us was an espresso martini, but we don't usually order those at dinner. Needing to get something, we did get that, and it was good but not great in taste and size so not worth $14. It all took forever to come out, and it wasn't just us- we watched the tables around us wait very long for drinks as well- one receive their food before their drink arrived. That's a huge negative for us when dining out when the pace is way off like that. The service with the first server continued to be poor; she was non attentive and gave us the impression she was doing us a favor just by being there at all and she could take or leave us. Luckily her shift must have been ending because halfway through the meal we got a new server who was super sweet and provided much better service. Food wise, we shared the cashew Caesar which was excellent. Very unique presentation and flavor. For entrees, we ordered the spicy pasta and the carbonara pasta. We had high hopes since it was homemade fettuccine. Unfortunately they were both just ok. My carbonara also appeared that it had sat for a bit because the sauce had started oiling over, and I didn't see a fresh egg yolk on top as I'd seen in other photos. We sadly agreed we won't go back which is a bummer since we loved the inn next door and were hoping for a nice dinner option nearby when our favorite (Josephine's) is closed on Sundays. read more

Don't expect to get your drink or food in thirty seconds; however, the wait was perfectly reasonable. If you use Google Maps, you may get lost.
