Vegan Tuscan soup
Lori A.

We love the back patio courtyard and I really appreciate their vegan and vegetarian options. We had the Southwest burrito and Tuscan soup. Both were super hearty and delicious! Their wines on tap are great too!

Very cute indoor and outdoor space! They have a couple of clearly marked vegan options. My husband had the Southwest Burrito, and I had the Southwest burrito in a bowl. Both were a generous portion of food and we were very full. We would eat here again!

Been here on several occasions driving up from Phoenix, and has been OUTSTANDING every single time. Phenomenal portions / quality. I'm happy this is a great option out there and almost always a must-stop on my trip up north. Great enjoyable space to be inside , not cramped at all. Can't wait to return !!

Loved it .We have been wanting to try this since we heard the concept was coming. We just haven't made our we up to Flagstaff in a while! The biggest winner is the ambiance, decor, vibes. It is so cozy feeling and the bronze touches are beautiful. We went for breakfast. Service was fast considering there was a large gathering upstairs for the flagstaff film festival. This is not a sit and order place. You get in line and order. The line ran at a decent pace. The front has the pastries and drinks (coffee, alcohol et). We got the sweet potato bread from the front. Let me tell you! Amaaaazing. It was so soft and flavorful. It was just what I needed to pair with my coffee later at single speed coffee roasters. That is another thing I liked about this place, is they carried the local beans. Single speed is a legit good place and if you carry their beans your coffee has a great start/base. As we go to sear ourselves it's pretty full at 8:30 ish am but there was still seating. Like I mentioned earlier very impressed with service, speed considering how full it was. As we find our seating, I see the cures gelato station. I take a peek outside and it has very relaxing vibes for seating and their pizza oven is outside. We sat inside. Then went to grab water. Loved the self serve water tap because it offered sparkling . I've never seen that (I'm sure it's not unheard of), but I like the ability to just pour sparkling water if I want it. Then we had the breakfast. I had the down under with bacon. I had been craving a classic breakfast for sometime. Eggs were moist and scrambled the way I like and seasoned well. Potatoes were tasty. Toast was simple with butter but reminded me of home/childhood. Bacon was cooked perfect, not too well done or undercooked. I almost skipped out on the black beans but glad I didn't. I don't usually have beans with my breakfast but glad I did. It's a perfect small serving (maybe 2 tablespoons) that is packed with yummy flavor. I'm always afraid to be disappointed with underwhelming flavor of beans but it was really surprisingly good. I was happy with my meal Then my boyfriend had the breakfast burrito . It comes with egg, potato, green chili and cheddar with a side of hot sauce. I didn't taste his but based on the appearance and his opinion could use a little improvement. The ratio of potatoes to eggs was not proportional. It had wayyyyy too much potatoes. It's hard to eat a breakfast burrito with too much potatoes . He said the flavor was there and the tortilla was nice but unfortunately too much potato. The hot sauce was not needed. Reminded us of some type of Taco Bell sauce. Overall experience was great. It has great vibes! I would come again and do breakfast and try their dinner service in the future.

We were passing through Flagstaff driving up to Page from Pheonix. This restaurant popped up on recommendations, and once I saw the house made pasta, I was on my way! We parked a block away on the street, next time i will check thier lot. It's a narrow entrance from the street, but it has a dozen spots. I ordered the Carbonara Fettuccine add mushrooms and Chicken. O M G. So good. My friend got the chicken sandwich, which I assume was fine. I honestly was enraputured by my pasta. They only had one type of cookie available after lunch, I should have ordered at the same time. I got iced tea, which has refills if you ask. Gorgeous Dining room with a fireplace and an upstairs. They have several bathrooms ( i got corrected by my partner when I walked all the way to the one by the kitchen ).

I came here for breakfast around 830am on a Saturday. I was worried it would be really busy/no parking, but that was not case. Lots of parking and no wait to order when we arrived. By the time we left around 930am it was busy though. There is upstairs, downstairs and outdoor seating in this rustic, casual restaurant. They offer pastries, coffees, breakfast, lunch and dinner (weekends only). I tried the vegan burrito and added eggs. It was awesome, and large enough for two meals or to split. They also had an ANTI-pumpkin spice latte drink that was really delicious too. Sosta was an awesome find for breakfast. I would definitely recommend this place and can't wait to come back to try their lunch/dinner.

Now let me tell you - this place is a GEM! From the staff and how friendly they are, to the decor to the food, 10/10 coffee shop hands DOWN! It's a two level shop and has great space both inside and out to spread out to study, eat, chat with friends, catch a vibe - whatever you're looking for.

We went to Sosta after a day of hiking in Flag. Super darling historic building turned into a restaurant. Lots of beautiful charm all over the place from copper accents, an old wood fireplace, to floral wallpapers. They seated us quickly and our food came out within 30 minutes. The servers were tentative without hovering, which I love. The food at Sosta feels like it's really trying to be sophisticated and simple. The items on the menu reminded me of traditional Italian cuisine- focused on using few ingredients of extremely high quality. We got the Spicy Pasta with Chicken and the Balsamic Prosciutto Arugula Pizza. The pasta was very fresh and the sauce was delish. The pizza was also good. Expect to spend around $25 per person here on a plate (not including drinks). I don't tend to be the person to leave a sparkling review at 4 stars, but there was just something missing from the food. I kept wanting some salt, or shredded parmigiana and pepper flakes. While the experience over all was good, I'm not sure it was amazing enough for me to come back.

Breakfast Sandwich

We ordered matcha latte, americano, breakfast sandwich, and the hash bowl. Americano is good but impressive, but I don't like the matcha latte, matcha was not strong enough and tasted a little bit watery. Food was good, most of the dishes are vegan, the side salad of the breakfast sandwich was flavorful but light, and the sandwich was also refreshing. The hash bowl was also amazing, I liked the pesto sauce on top, and the flavor of sweet potatoes and potatoes were also great. There were many seats and the environment was great for relaxing.

I have a meeting downtown with a potential new client. Inspection at 2pm. I've been wanting to try Sosta, formerly Bricks, and I'm sold. Ordered the Tre Colore Sandwich with goat cheese on the side. I wanted the goat cheese with the salad. Sandwich was so good. I want a side of the roasted red peppers next time. I would have had a glass of white wine if it were not for my meeting. Next time. Lemon poppyseed muffin was okay. I also want to try their dinner menu. Another place for a girly meal Sarah Hendricks.

I really enjoyed the atmosphere on the back patio. We already had a dinner stop prior so just tried their caesar salad but it was good. It was on the mustard-y side, had crunchy pumpkin seeds and housemade cashew parmesan. I really liked the texture and crispiness of the salad in particular. I have had vegan caesar salad dressings and cashew based cheeses that I liked better but I still really enjoyed it. It is a few minutes walk out of the busier area of downtown Flagstaff and surrounded by houses which made it less busy and less noisy. We really appreciated the peacefulness and lack of lines and crowds. They have a vegan pizza and vegan pasta on the menu and has a vegan cookie in the bakery which we didn't try because it was a stop in the midst of a little dinner hop :) My general rating system: 1 star: I would stay away 2 stars: Has some good things about it but I generally don't recommend. 3 stars: Pretty good. I wouldn't go out of my way to go back but a decent place 4 stars: Great place. I would go back. 5 stars: I highly recommend stopping whatever you are doing and making plans to try it out! An Evie favorite!

Latte, hash, and French toast
Daniel L.

Got the latte, hash, and French toast Latte with oat milk - tasty and not bitter Hash - nice sauce, would be nice to be able to add a protein side French toast - nice citrus in the egg batter but overall the egg batter ratio to French toast was so small, the dish was primarily bread Nice ambience outside with some shade. However, the layout is a bit clunky. In picking up our drinks and getting to the table, I was brushing by other guests.

While staying in Flag we were blessed to stay next to this super cute establishment. I was able to sneak over early in the morning. Walking in you are greeted and the smells of coffee, sweets and breakfast delish hit your nose. I only wanted to have a latte so didn't experience the food.....this time. The lattee was made and handed off hot and delish! We will be back in March and staying next door again. Will absolutely give the food a try!

Menu is big and had many options. Wife got the French toast while I got the Owls 66, chicken fried chicken patty, eggs, potatoes and biscuits and gravy. Came with a slice of apple pie. Chicken patty was ok, not great, potato was good, biscuits and gravy delicious! Apple pie came with cream but they forgot to bring it and took forever to get it French toast was good. Wife loved it. We bought 2 owls off the wall, felt bad cause they had to ask a table of 8 to move so they could get it down. Was a nice time, food was good. Spent like 40 on food and 75 on owls!!

I want to start with the positives, because they deserve to be recognized. First and foremost, our server Parker was outstanding. From the moment he greeted us, he was kind, attentive, and genuinely warm. Our little one had brought along his Spider-Man toy, and Parker leaned in and told him he was actually Peter Parker, working undercover as a server. Our little was completely starstruck. Parker was also incredibly patient as our little guy practiced ordering politely on his own, and when it came time to pay, Parker let him tap the card and cracked one of the best server jokes we've ever heard. Moments like that turn a regular breakfast into a memory. Parker, thank you for the amazing service and for being so, so kind to our family. The food and drinks were equally excellent. Everything came out fresh, delicious, and exactly as ordered, so huge compliments to the back of the house. Unfortunately, the rest of our experience didn't match that standard. The Toasted Owl is well known for being dog friendly, so we brought our pup along to enjoy the fall weather. It was about 50 degrees when we arrived around 8:30 to 9 a.m., and some overnight rain had left the patio tables a bit damp. That was no problem for us. We were happy to help wipe down our table and chairs, and we were fine sitting on a slightly damp seat for a moment. Since we had our dog, the patio was our only option. While we were choosing a table in the sun, I said something simple like, "Whatever table is easiest for you all, we'll be happy at." The other patio server (white gentleman, beard, bald, leg tattoos) responded with a snarky, "If you sat inside, that would be easiest." We were annoyed but brushed it off, since the hostesses and the other servers helping out were all incredibly nice. It didn't stop there. As the morning went on, more families arrived with dogs and asked to sit outside, which is exactly what this restaurant advertises. With every single group, we had to listen to this server complain. He made sure everyone on the patio knew he was unhappy, even though every person he complained to was a paying customer. It made it hard to enjoy the breakfast we were paying for and the lovely experience Parker was giving us. Customer service is the heart of a restaurant like this, and this server's attitude stood in stark contrast to the rest of the staff. The Toasted Owl has something special in employees like Parker, and I hope management takes a close look at how their patio is being run, because one person's behavior nearly overshadowed an otherwise fantastic visit. This would be a 5 star review if we did not have to hear this gentleman's non stop complaints during breakfast. I feel for the families that were stuck with his service, if we were one of those families, this review would by far be a 1 star.

We were craving Mexican food and found this gem on Yelp! It had great reviews, so we decided to give it a try. I'm so glad we ate here! I had the chilaquiles with red sauce and chicken. The food was amazing! They give you a lot, which I couldn't finish, but I totally took the rest home and ate it! The red sauce had great flavor and not spicy at all. The chicken was seasoned well. My mom had the chimichanga with green chili and she loved it! She said the meat was not dry and the green chili was delicious. Our fave were the chips and salsa! We loved the salsa so much, we bought a pint to take with us on our trip. As for the restaurant, the atmosphere was very upbeat, colorful, and full of culture. The inside is a little small, but when we went about 11am on a Thursday, it wasn't busy at all. Although, I did hear this place gets packed. Parking appeared very limited as this place is located in a small plaza area. Despite this, this restaurant is totally worth a try! My mom and I plan on coming back when we visit again!

We ordered them anyway and they were fantastic. The chips are light and crispy ( I don't like thick chips) and the 2 salsas were divine. I especially like the red and could have bought a gallon of it. We thought our server was attentive and friendly and the food and drinks came out pretty quick. They have some very cool Day of the Dead style artwork on the walls which was fun to look at.

Healthy and balanced, kid friendly options, vegan desserts, and options that everyone in the family could get excited about. For the kids I especially appreciated the extensive mix and match ala carte options. It is absolutely one of those nostalgic vegan cafes like I frequented in college I won't say how many years ago - whole foods from scratch cooking, a little under salted (they have salt on the table if you prefer restaurant level salting), great use of spices for flavor, nothing trendy just wholesome reliably good food. We had the tamales (both lunch and breakfast plates), classic French toast, fruit cup, sausages, steamed greens, cheesecake, peanut butter chip cookie, and brownie. Loved it all, the scrambled tofu was a surprise hit with the whole crew, pinto beans are cooked from dried with a great creamy consistency, the warm spice in the French toast made it appealing to the grown ups without being "too spicy" for the kids. Home fries were another surprise hit with crispy exterior and fluffy interior on each piece. Desserts were very good - the blueberry cheesecake and peanut butter chocolate chip cookies were the favorites. The tamales were very good but on the smaller side, if you're here for the tamales definitely opt into the small upcharge for a second tamale. Service was great, our food came out quickly and the team perfectly timed our to go order so it was hot and ready just as we were finishing our in restaurant meals.
