Curry sauce

This place has been on my list for YEARS! We just haven't been in Flagstaff at the right time for a meal. This time hubs & I specifically made a trip so I could check it out. IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT. One orders at the counter & the young lady who helped me was very kind. I was disappointed that they were sold out of mushy peas and sausage rolls, but oh well. The star of the show is the fish. The shop is small. A spot for a "counter" for two to sit, a couple of Bistro tables in the alley and that's it for dining in. But, the fish.... Lightly fried, a beautiful crunch. Add some salt and malt vinegar and I'm back in a chip shop in London. My dad ( UK born & bred) would have loved this place. Coincidentally, it's right across the street from my favorite Thai restaurant.

Cozy ambiance with great service and fish and chips. They were able to assist with recommendations which is a rarity these days.

This place is as great as they say! I wanted to come to flag just to try this place. Fish and chips were fresh, I loved all the sauce options they gave and it is such a classic homey looking shop with some seating on the side. Loved the atmosphere and really felt like I was on an English vacation. I was not impressed with the steak pie and probably would not get it again but the the fish and sausage were delicious and the sticky toffee pudding had to be one of the best desserts I've had ever. Can't wait to return!

The fish is good here. They open at 3pm I believe not 11am. The people working there are nice . They cook the orders one at a time so you have to wait 5-6 minutes. It's kind of a walk up take out place. There were about 3 tables outside. It's quaint and I was there right about 3:15pm I got the original cod and fries. I got small and it was a decent size piece of fish with lovely sliced potato fries. I paid $1 extra for dragon sauce... jalapeno tartar which was perfect and delicious on the fish and the fries. I put a little ketchup on my fries. And squeezed the lemon good all over the fish too. I was starving so I forgot to get a pic. It was delishioso. I'll go back and prob try trout and chips or shrimp and chips. A regular was there and he told me he loves to get a meat pie to go for next day and that they are delicious. He said his large order of fish is always a giant piece. So guys prob do good w a large order but I was good w small. Hope you check it out!

The cod is the best, the mahi is too fishy and the shrimp also okay. The chips are too dry potato wedge thickness fries. Sauces are okay too, not great not terrible.

Delicious, hot Cod n' Chips

It is really hard to find proper Fish n' Chips in most places. Arizona seems to be especially challenging, outside of pop-ups like Nelson's Meat+Fish or fish.pop (or my house). So it was a fantastic surprise to randomly run across Evan's when in Flag for the weekend. We already had stuff booked for the day and night that I spotted Evan's. But the next day after checking out of our stay at 11a, we decided to kill an hour so driving around looking at real estate until Evan's opened. So glad we did. The Cod n' Chips came out fast and hot as balls. Scarfed it down while parked in the truck, before hitting the road. Definitely want to try more of the menu next time, especially Steak & Ale Pie, and Curry Sauce for the Chips. Owner was engaged and charming. I can imagine they really get in the weeds when things get busy, as the shop is tiny and thinly staffed. I think they stay open really late on the weekends, and that must be nuts at times.

This place is a fun quick grab, hole-in-the-wall experience. The service was pretty quick. The atmosphere is snug and cozy. It'll definitely get crowded if they are busy but worth the wait. The food is made fresh. Your protein choice is lightly battered fried to a crisp. Serve with your thick potato chips! The side sauces are delicious. We tried the house ranch, "brown sauce", cocktail and tartar sauce. Everything was delicious. Very strong flavors!

We live in the valley and come up as often as possible (I know, I'm sorry). I'm not kidding, I've thought about how incredibly crave-able this lovely quaint little spot is countless times since our last trip here. I couldn't help myself and have little self control, so I probably ordered 3-4 things. From what I can remember, chicken curry pie, cod & shrimp and chips, steak and ale pie, and a scotch egg. It was literally just what I was hoping for. Top quality on all fronts and their spicy sauces are amazing too. Give them a try, you won't regret it.

4oz Cod fish and chips combo. Light, flakey, crisp coating! Chips large cut fries cooked crisp!

High quality unassuming food. Reasonably priced, nice staff and the white dragon sauce is very good. Nice piece of fish and big shrimp.

Great, upbeat service...and the food was good, too!…read more Spent a girlfriend's weekend in Flagstaff and Collins was a perfect place for 7 of us for lunch on a Saturday. We were sat in the bar area to the left of the entrance next to the pool tables. In that area are other games like basketball. There were a couple claw machines, air hockey, and a speed bag. There was a big family with a bunch of kids. All the tvs were on with the various football games. We had a great server who was attentively entertaining. I hadn't had a black and tan in forever so I had a nice pour of that. Split the fish and chips with a friend. They were pretty decent, not overly greasy, surprisingly enough. Fries were good. Overall, the experience was positive. My only complaint was that our booth was a little too close to the pool table. Not the worst I've seen, but it could prompt some people to make sure not to sit in that area if they don't want to have to deal with it for whatever reason. The restaurant is a couple short blocks, if not a single block from a parking lot. Our meal ended with our server willing to snap a group shot of us.

I was hoping to have my favorite Irish cyber Magners which they didn't have, apparently it's been years. This is my first St Patty's Day without having it so needless to say I was disappointed. The fish and chips was pretty good the breaded fish was light and not over cooked but the chips were soggy, crazy as busy as they were you would expect crispy and fresh! In the end everything thing was fine just missed in a few places.

Awful. Awful. Awful. Worst service I think I've ever had…read more We went here on a Friday night. Walked in and it was confusing because there was no one in the area (we followed the sign that said next door with an arrow), except one server and what did not look like a Tavern. We asked the server if we were in the right spot. She just looked at us. We asked if this was the Tavern. She said yes and it's next door but there's probably no where to sit. We asked if we could eat in this area (even though it was completely empty). She just said yes and didn't help seat us. We had 5 people. All that was there were booths for 4. She didn't offer to help, nothing. So I just grabbed a chair from the back that had tables, but no lights were on and it had boxes on tables. We made our own place to sit 5. Waited for awhile for menus. Waited for drinks, which she must have to go back to the main tavern where the actual bar was because there wasn't one on the side we were. When she brought our drinks she literally slammed them on the tables. She finally came back to take our food orders. In the meantime another party came, just as confused as we were. They even at one point asked us if someone comes to take orders! We said yes, kinda! Our food took probably a good hour. We ordered an appetizer and entrees. They all came at the same time. And the people that ordered after us got their food first? She never came back to ask us how we were doing or see if we needed more drinks. The pretzels were definitely deep fried in oil used for fish. My French dip was decent. We had to ask again for napkins and silverware since she never gave us any with food. My husband asked her for ketchup (for his fries), twice. She never brought it. I had to literally flag her down to get another drink. Mind you, the side we were sitting was like 4 or 5 booths. It wasn't big. She'd walk by us, many times, never checked on us. I asked for ranch for my tots and she said "you need more ranch?" I never had any. I was then charged $1.25 for it. It probably took another 20-30 minutes to get our bill and she was rude when we asked, and rude when we asked for separate checks. It took 2+ hours for our meal because our server didn't care. Who knows how long our food was waiting. And she simply didn't care we were there or about our meals, drinks, or basic things you get with a meal (silverware, napkins, condiments that never came). If she'd been kind or even apologizing for kitchen being backed up, and checking on us frequently that would have made a difference. But she was probably the rudest server I've ever had. We will definitely not be back.

Ok. I write this out of respect of the owner and staff to let you know how great this place is…read more Now.... If you're an a**hole, please don't come here. This is a wonderful local Flagstaff place that I love. The ambiance is magical. Such a fun place to laugh with locals and friends. If the tourists find this place they will surely ruin it. We had the pulled pork sandwich and it was so delicious. I can't wait to work my way through the menu. The meatloaf is house made and a special treat. I saw a few of the burgers and even though I was full, they looked like I could wait to eat them. Many people were eating the wings so obviously a favorite. There is a magic elixir that is the owner's own recipe for house margaritas. It comes in a gas can for extra flavor. It's delicious and definitely your go to drink. All in all this is the place to enjoy alone or with friends.
