I was in town visiting friends and we came by here on an afternoon. It wasn't too busy which was fine with us since we were able to enjoy the full space. There's forty or so beers on tap, and they even had Jameson and Jack (whiskeys) on tap which is down right rare. It's fun place due to the various activities you can take part in. They have a couple pool tables, pinball and skeeball available, a shuffle board, a boxing machine, a jukebox, Jenga and other games. I wouldn't say this is a lounge, but rather a fun unique dive-ish bar. The bartender was friendly, and the drinks were nice and stiff. The bar itself is very nicely done back-bar which I was told was built in the late 1800s; the place has some history to it! read more

We went in there recently on a Saturday night and I asked for a Bud Light, pretty standard. The 5'-nothing bartender cops an attitude with me, "Nah, we don't serve that sh*t here.", acts like he's annoyed with me for asking. Lyzzard's Lounge - Inside - Lounges Near Me - Prescott, Arizona

Lyzzard's is one of the popular downtown, off-Row bars occasionally referred to as "The North Row." Some websites say it in on Whiskey Row; it's not. I've heard out-of-towners on Whiskey Row say they couldn't find it. Perhaps likely because it can't be seen from the Row. It is just a minutes walk however, 1 block away around the corner on Cortez St, making it a must stop if you're doing a Whiskey Row Pub Crawl. Both the bar itself and backbar have a long colorful history worth mentioning. The massive Brunswick mahogany and cherry wood backbar is amazing - it was built in the 1880s, but stories vary as to where it originated from. Accounts agree that the last leg of its journey to Prescott was from San Francisco via wagon train, right after the turn of the century, when the bar itself was established. This all makes Lyzzard's a must stop if you're doing a Historic Downtown Prescott tour. The location started as The Del Monte Saloon over a century ago. It became Scholey's Pool Hall and switched to a pharmacy during prohibition. There were other name changes but it was always a bar right up until it became The Lido Buffet (still a bar) which is what it was when I first went in back in the day. It's been under the Lyzzard's moniker for a couple of decades now. Older reviews here don't reflect the current Lyzzard's experience. In the not to distant past it was a live music and dance club. It's also been an alternative music and punk rock venue, which featured international touring acts and recording artists. It has been through ownership, management and staff changes that have major impact on both the vibe and experience here. Right now Lyzzard's is experiencing a resurgence of popularity and draws primarily a 20s & 30s crowd, as more of a locals bar than a tourist destination. Typically, it is a stop on the "North Row" crawl: Public House/The Point/Lyzzard's. There is absolutely no live music or live DJ these days. You'll find 2 pool tables, a shuffleboard, and a variety of table, coin and social games, and a few TVs behind the bar. Even the raised performance stage has been converted into a game area. The big feature here is the most impressive craft beer on tap selection in Prescott; about 40 as well as Jameson and Jack Daniels on tap. The liquor is reasonably priced, with good pours. They seem to have a much better selection of less common liquors typically missing in Whiskey Row bars. Nothing even close to The Point, mind you, but still it's one of the few places I can order a Rusty Nail. (So much for being an old school cocktail drinker on Whiskey Row) Lyzzard's also sports the largest outdoor smoking patio downtown, with plenty of seating and tables, with about half being under a solid-roofed gazebo. This is definitely a spot where you will run into friends or familiar faces if you're from around these parts. Some refer to Lyzzard's as a "dive bar" which is not completely unfair. It's not filthy but it won't win any cleanliness awards, especially the restroom when it's busy. The decor is sort of low-rent fratboy party house, replete with a big aquarium, and obscenely adorned mannequin by the front door. Service is fine as long as you know dive bar protocol and are ready to push your way through to the bar and make your presence known. The uninitiated might mistake this for poor service when things are hopping, but seriously... it's on you to stake your claim and get served. One thing about Lyzzard's that is controversial is that they will trade you a drink for your AA Sobriety Coin. Ima leavin that one out there with no further comment. read more

Bar tender was rude from the start, I sat down at the bar waiting for her, when she came over to me she didn't say anything, just stared at me. I finally said how are you and all she said was fine then kept starting. I asked if she had a certain beer and she she said yes I said I'll have one and she just turned around to get it but not before stopping for other customer that just walked up to the bar and took their order. Where do I start. We walked in and there was no bartender. We waited for 10 minutes because she was playing pool. I ask if they had any drink specials for the day. The bar tender with her hands in pocket just shrugged her shoulders. I'll take that as a no. We ordered 2 vodka cranberries to make it easy. She made drinks, slammed them on bar and walked away to go play pool. We finished drinks, and waited for her pool game to end. It did, and she came over and finally waited on the couple beside us. While she was making their drinks, as she never acknowledged us, asked for our bill. She said $5. Ok.... I said, "I had 2 vodka drinks." She says, "it's fine." Well thanks for the cheap drinks. So my other half and I decided to visit for the Boot Drop and since it was cold we did that early. We decided to check out what else was happening and we heard live music coming from this bar as we walked by. So we turned around to see what was up inside. Jackpot! We heard some great music. Deciding to stay for a drink or two we weren't disappointed. There was people of all ages inside just having a good time, a few dancing and most enjoying their drinks. Couldn't decide what to have and saw the Fireball right there and had some shots. The bartender was very friendly and made sure everyone was helped. The Midnight toast was fun and my hubs even was talked into wearing a hat to celebrate. :) The bar was impressive and looks to be very old and maybe original. A few weeks ago I went to a place downtown to go have some fun with my Husband. He told me of a place we have never been to before but came highly recommended from some locals. My friends and I enjoy live music . We were told of the band called Sefen n Rock that was playing. We were also told they play classic rock and are fun to dance to. That was right up our ally. First time we went to this place. When we got to the bar we noticed a very divvy feel, we like that. Crazy fish tank. Very cool bartenders, made us feel at home. It's just off Montezuma street , just down from the Court house Square. For being next to Whiskey Row, it was not the Prescott vibe we were expecting, it was better. Long story short. The band we were looking forward to seeing, sucked. With a name like Stefen Rock we were kind of expecting a tribute band. Nope. A duo, and they looked like they were right out of 'That 70's show, but only costume wise. Nothing but covers. They never sang one original song. I'm cool with that if you can pull it off, but these two , not even close. The girl who sings is in her golden years and her voice is tingy and then flat to say the least but she did hit some notes that were just short of caterwauling, it was worse than the earlier feed back on their amps when they were setting up. When she tried to reach high notes ... that's when I noticed everyones eyebrows standing straight up. It was the only time I saw that Stef n Rockman had the attention of the entire nightclub, but it wasn't good. They went from the Beatles to , Elvis, to Elle King X's and Os. What a disaster. Like my husband likes to remind me, Rock, Rockster, Rocket, still can't remember his name, could do a semi decent Elvis, but that was about all. My honey joked with me and said he thinks he saw them singing at Denny's in Henderson Nevada thirty years ago, good to see their still around. They had more pre-recorded soundtrack then actual performing on their instruments. It was more like their own korokke with autotuned, heavy autotuned. The lady played the harmonica but it looked recorded air harmonica. My husband said she did play it, what do I know. Musically, my second half and I were seriously disappointed. A few folks danced, everyone else just sat. For me and my hubby, we expected something more entertaining. What we got instead was a 240 pound singer who sat in a chair and never got off her butt the entire show, not even get up to thank some of the few folks that came to see her. I have to give it to my husband after he took out the napkins in his ears, he did say the most fun we had was driving home, and he was right. Negative -2 out of ten stars . Well for starters, the 15 year old in front of us got let in with no ID but the big bad bouncer wanted to raise his voice at my 56 year old mom asking her for ID. The place is full of young teens. I'm a very nervous/anxious person, especially around big crowds and when a place is dark, hot, or smokey. Walking past this place I thought for sure it'd be just that but it's not at all I LOVE it! They have free shuffle board,pool, and then "beer ball"/ski ball where if you get over 270 points you get happy hour pricing any time! They've got funny sayings on the walls as well (although not Yelp review appropriate :p). They have a new age juke box, darts, a boxing game, and pinball. I felt like I was in an adult chuck e cheese. If I were a sims character my happiness level would be maxed out!! Their draft list is very impressive! Amazing craft beer. Our first stop in Prescott on my first road trip with the Fantastic Mr. "It's Complicated." We pulled into town, parked behind the bar and went in for a drink. Before we contemplated where to stay for the night - truly, the first stop. I was immediately reminded of my last trip - to see a friend's band play, circa late 1990's. I brought his kid sister with me, used my ID at the front door, gave it to my friend who took it out back to hand to his sister so she could use it to get in. Sorry about the legal violation, guys! But it was a fun night. And Lyzzard's is still just as cool. Great bartender, huge selection, fair prices. Dog friendly (okay - I am a sucker for that anywhere, even when my dog isn't there...), decent patio for smoking and a good place to hang out. Stopped in just for one drink on a bar hop around Prescott. Did't stay long enough to get a real feel for the place but it seemed cool and laid back. The bartender was really great and was nice to our large group. They have a ton of craft beer on tap, mostly from local Arizona breweries. Very friendly service and great prices on everything. A favorite for my wife and I when we are downtown and looking for a cheap drink to relax.
