Next stop while looking for open places was here. I really didn't know what to expect. I figured it would be some sort of fancy bar, but it was pretty casual. It was mostly music and dancing. It was alright, but I'm not a regular and hard a hard time figuring out what to order, so I asked them to make me an old fashioned. It was ok. I got teh wife a cider from superstition. We enjoyed our drinks and moved on. Probably best to come here with a group of friends. There was some security at the door with a wand. The bar was cash only, and I didn't see any prices but they were certainly reasonable. Definatly a plus if your lookin for affordable drinks, just make sure you have cash. read more

This is a decent bar, they are open late, they have a dancefloor with a good mix of music. The vibe was ok, we noticed a few security guards hovering around the bar area just in case a fight broke out. The drinks were good, I had a mead/cider and my husband had an old fashioned. Stopped in here on a Saturday night because we were told they had a dart board. We ordered a couple drinks and were informed it was cash only which was somewhat strange to me. They had an ATM available so no matter. We did play a game of darts but the darts and board were in such bad shape it wasn't very enjoyable. Some of the buttons on the dart board didn't work. We only stayed for the one drink due to that reason. Other than that, the service was very good and the drinks were reasonably priced. read more

This was our 1st bar we walked into on a Saturday evening, seem odd it was not very busy at all. My husband and I sat down at the bar and ordered 2 cocktails. We were served our drinks in a plastic whiskey cup. I made a comment to the bartender, he said it's for my own protection. Then he tells us $15 cash only and walks away, he comes back in a few minutes and says it again. Who carries cash anymore? He let us know they had an ATM we could use. My husband went here for the first time and wanted to take a quick video for me as I hadn't been. The teeny tiny security guard with the teeny tiny complex told him he couldn't video, got physical with him, and kicked him out. Since when aren't you allowed to take video in a bar? The security there use their position to threaten customers and act tough and powerful as they clearly aren't tough and powerful in their real life. If you go here just beware not to get your phone out. Or you'll be thrown out! read more

1881 has one of the largest selection of spirits and beers on tap. They have many tvs, pool tables, big buck hunter, and foozball table. It's cash only but there is an atm on site. Many of the negative reviews reference bad service or rude bartenders. It's the same situation in most of the local bars here. Don't expect a warm welcome or above and beyond service and don't let the abruptness ruin your day. read more

The drinks are great and the vibes were good, until they threw my friend out saying he was high when he'd had literally 3 beers and was nowhere near intoxicated enough to warrant the way they treated him. Bartender is AMAZING(tony)!!! But... the DJ Michael wouldn't play any of our songs and would be rude to us anytime we asked him a question. Normally my favorite bar, but got kicked out on my way out of the restroom while there with some family. No reason given, and when told my fam was by the restroom they kicked me regardless ( while people were several time more than drunk me (including my own family)). Normally I love going into 1881, but ever since COVID they have struggled to come back as a "nightclub" and comes off as a dive bar. I was there Saturday night and the atmosphere was lackluster. Furthermore, I asked for a Liquid Marijuana, which this bar has always served in a tall glass. I got it in a shooter, when I asked to have it remade as a full drink, the bartender glared at me before dumping it in a rocks glass and just adding more soda. As much as I love this bar, I won't be going back if that bartender was there. I don't have time for mean girls who can't handle a busy bar when I'm trying to have a good night. Hopefully the owners can bring the old atmosphere back so it's fun to drink and dance there again. read more

You know you've entered the good life when you walk in and get smacked dead in the face with the smell of piss and beer. More beer than than piss, which I guess is a good thing. This place is exactly what everyone needs in their life. The hubby and I were in town for the Corvette show. We felt right at home here as we came from Cave Creek! My husband & I stopped in on our way home-I'm so glad we did!! We had the pleasure of having Tony as our bartender. My husband had grey goose & cranberry-which he said it was perfecction. My search for finding the perfect Bloody Mary stopped here! Tony made - hands down-the most anazingly perfect Bloody Mary I've ever had! Me and some friends were in town for the night and stopped here, one bar tender was very nice, and even though we waited (patiently) she gave us great service. But some guys sitting next to me who were being very respectful and having a good night were asked to leave because one of their friends were making weird facial expressions, the staff were very aggressive over a facial expression! At one point one of the staff put his hands on me and I had nothing to do with the situation aside from the fact I was sitting next to them at the bar. Rude untrained staff made this a bad experience. First and last time going here. read more
