Kitchen

Fun place for Bao and ramen bowls. We went for my friend's birthday late at night. Sat at the bar which was a fun place to sit to watch the cooks prep food in the kitchen. The music was on fire and service was quick and friendly. We got the Bao with beef and the hostile takeover and mic drop with beef. The Bao were our favorite. Lots of good flavor. The other two were alright since I'm not a fan of watery soupy food. I'd definitely order two or three helpings of the Bao next time.

Fried Cauliflower

Food was great , James was so kind , brought us different type of hot sauces to try out when we wanted to add a bit of more spice. Greens could have been a bit fresher , tofu was full of flavor the chopped green onions gave it a nice little crunch to each bite.

We enjoyed their take on stir fry cauliflower a lot, their bao buns with chicken and beef were the highlight. The salad was okay and so was the miso carrot cake.

I order the Katsu ramen and it was great, my gf order the Mic Drop and that was a whole different story, both the noodles and broth tasted weird. We were sat right in front of the kitchen and we could see everything they were doing, not really appetizing to be honest And the waiter was really rude, almost throwing anything we asked to our seats. The place is nice, really loud at times but is good.

Fried cauliflower, Tofu salad, Mic Drop ramen highly recommed!

Really great food and great service I wanted to add some spice to my ramen and my server brought me a plethora of different hot sauces to add to it! My wife is vegan and they had a fare amount of options for her to choose from. I will definitely be going back to work my way through the menu so many other apps and entrees I wanted to try!

My friends and I recently dinned here for dinner as this place is their local favorite. We started off with the edamame appetizer which came out fantastic! We were all fighting for more. Two of my friends had ordered the katsu which they loved. I got a chance to try it and the noodles and broth were great, I'd honestly love a more intense flavor but it was good. My other friend got the gyoza ramen and it was fantastic! I'd definitely say this was the better dish as it had a lot more flavor than the others. I got the hostile take over and I was quite disappointed. The ingredients sounded great but the flavor was definitely lacking. The broth didn't taste like anything but the char from the pepper and beef. The pepper and meat were very lackluster. They were quite charred and that was the overwhelming flavor I was getting. The meat didn't taste seasoned at all, just grilled and chewy. The rice noodles also leaned towards the al dente side. I added soy sauce but the burnt flavor was very overpowering. My friends mentioned that the flavor levels tend to fluctuate each time but I must have gotten a bad one. They didn't even like it, but I'd like to say their meals were good! It was just mine that was quit lack luster. The server and staff were absolutely fantastic and very attentive which was great! The ambiance and decor was also very cool. Again the staff were great, I'd just get something else next time.

Only had to wait 20 mins during a busy time. Don't mind the wait, once seated I was handed a pitcher for water. Ordered and waited. Result nice place to sit and talk to guest. Once the food came around I was excited but disappointed. Flagstaff is known for their vegan ramens and "two guys who started a restaurant" kinda vibes. The thing is this ramen tasted like it was vegan? Despite us being chicken broth? I had gyoza within the ramen but was not able to get any of that taste. The brother was watery. I like a light ramen but it tasted, let's say like water with a lil chicken broth like 8% and 92% like bokchoy. I had a nice time but won't be returning. Maybe those who like a less oily and rich broth taste will like it here :))

The server was very sweet and the food was yummy! The vibe was very cute inside, quite cold when people open the door so wear a cozy jacket.

The staff was sweet and the food looked/tasted great but it was an outrageous amount of time. Not only did it take 30 minutes to even get seated, but the food took over an hour and our sever only checked on us once. We were told it would only be a couple more minutes to get it to go and that was another 20 minutes on top of the hour we had already waited. When the bill came, I was told the vegetarian option I ordered was the only dish not on happy hour and had to pay full price even though it is advertised that all bowls are half off. The food was overall good but not worth the price nor wait at all.

This is a mostly high top restaurant serving various types of ramen. I ordered a vegetarian ramen with rice noodles. The broth had average flavor - it wasn't too rich with umami flavor. The fried tofu had an interesting cheese like flavor (maybe nutritional yeast in the batter?). It wasn't my favorite ramen but I'd go back again to try a different menu item.

I tried the Katsu Ramen. More of fish miso taste for a broth with noodles that were kind of stale but chewy. I would've liked more chicken. Really nice staff though but I've had better ramen with more authentic broth flavoring and marinated soft boiled egg. Gets busy in the evening and at night.

My sister and I were really looking forward to trying this place out. Always excited for ramen in any capacity. We were looking for specific needs to go for lunch. It had to have vegetarian/vegan options and be dog friendly, they had both! The server was really nice. As it was sunny, he asked is we would like the umbrella. We ended up sitting right in the middle where there were no umbrellas (there were 2 others on either side of us) and he took off the umbrella, moved it over to us and opened it up. We were sat outside and it's just a simple small deck outside the restaurant. My sister and her husband both got the Tan Tan ramen. I was stuck between the katsu ramen vegetarian or the hostile takeover vegan. The server said the katsu is more popular but he prefers the hostile. I decided to get that with ramen noodles. We also ordered an appetizer of Bao Buns. You get a choice of protein, since I don't eat meat I chose mushroom. The bao bun was so fluffy and good. The mixture was tasty too but it was pretty salty. It felt like maybe they cooked it in hoison sauce and added salt and oh boy. So we rate that a 6/10. If it wasn't so salty it would've been an 8.5/10. My sister and husband got their Tan Tan ramen and thought it was just okay. My BIL always rates food a 9 or 10 and he said 7. I was shocked. My sister said the ramen noodles were interesting. As if it left a powdery flavor on her tongue. They both said the broth lacked flavor. They told me mine would come out in a few minutes. I waited 10 mins or more for my ramen to finally arrive. Honestly the wait for everything and in between was a bit long for a ramen shop, in our opinion.. they finished their food by the time my food came out. I was not impressed with my ramen at all. I felt the noodles were doughy for ramen noodles. The broth was a bit strange (it's a soy + mushroom broth) I've had some really great soy and/or mushroom broths and i thought the combo would be good. But not this. Also they have fried tofu cubes as part of the meal, I feel they should put the tofu on top where it's not in the broth because they get soggy immediately and when they arrive im just eating soggy flour fried tofu.. which is a bummer. We took my sister's ramen as takeaway because she doesn't eat much and they gave us a container. Realized he didn't give us or offer any bag and we ended up walking around Flagstaff downtown with this ramen container in hand lol. Honestly, overall, we would probably not come back. It was a nice try and love that there's outside seating for the pet owners. It just didn't satisfy me much. When it comes to a place to eat, if they talk about you after, it should be a good thing, not this time around.

Food is ok overall 4/5 (Tofu seafood soup: 5/5, omurice 4/5, spicy chicken soup 4/5, Bibimbowl 4/5 but I wouldn't say it was special. We had a toddler with us and had a stroller which could fold into a much smaller piece less than the size of a chair. The place was almost empty when we walked in. As soon as the owner (I assumed) saw us walking in, she gave us a super unfriendly almost impolite look, told us to fold the stroller. Then we were about to fold it, she told us "no no no, you have to put it in your car". There was no sign about stroller anywhere and the restaurant was almost empty. I was ok w it, folding it and walked back to leave it in my car. I told her we had 4 and a baby. She gave us a table for 4 then told us why didn't I told her sooner that we had 5 people. We helped our toddler to drink water but she liked to drink water from the cup directly and not through a straw and shook her head a bit. The owner scolded us why not having her drink water lol Then my toddler was drinking water from the cup directly as she always does. The owner scolded us. Yes, scolded. She told us close the lid and have her drink the water from the straw. At this point, I wanted to leave but because we already ordered. We didn't want to be impolite... My friend ordered an omurice and kimchi soup. When the food is out, the owner looked at her with a weird look shaking her head thinking she eated too much. Lol. She was smiling to other Caucasian customers while always judgemental and somehow unhappy to our group (Asian people) although we were polite and followed her directions the whole time. Last but not least, 18% of tip was automatically included in our bill.

We live about an hour away past Sedona and will happily drive in to get a delicious sushi meal. The nigiri is fresh and so tasty. One roll we had we disliked because it was topped with pesto, but I'm sure others may like it. I'm more into traditional Japanese flavors. Chicken Kara age appetizer was yummy too! Cool environment. It's not too loud and plenty of elbow space. Cool looking full service bar with bar seats. Service was okay. She was friendly and fast but I disliked how we didn't receive a printed receipt before paying. I should've spoken up but now I know to ask since it's not just provided, then pay with my card. I don't even know if the bill was right. That's the only thing that left a bad taste in my mouth.

The restaurant offers a good variety of ramen flavors along with a wide selection of sushi, sashimi, and side dishes. The space is quite large and clearly very popular. Even though the restaurant was busy, the staff remained friendly and attentive. We visited later in the evening and were able to get a table without difficulty, but it was easy to see how lively the place can be. The ingredients tasted fresh overall. I ordered the jalapeño ramen; the jalapeños themselves were over-charred, but otherwise the dish was well prepared. While I wouldn't necessarily come with expectations for authenticity, it's a solid and satisfying stop if you're looking for Japanese-style or comfort dishes after a long day in the area.
