I made a new friend for life! The Owner of this Korean Restaurant is a strong, confident woman who radiates both confidence and strength. We hit it off immediately with long discussions and reminisces of Korea - in Korean. This is the only Korean restaurant in Flagstaff and she keeps the standards very high. Her menu is fairly short - what sells is what she offers. Today I had the jeyuk bokkeum (sweet/spicy pork) and spouse had spicy chicken soup - a yukkaejang but with dak (chicken). HUGE portions and so delicious. What a genuine restauranteur. It was such a pleasure making her acquaintance. Take danhi kamsah hamida wa t'to manayo! Deborah wa Gary imnidah.

This was the bibimbap and the 3 side dishes.

Probably the worst Korean food I have ever had at a restaurant. I feel bad saying this since the waitress was nice, but I can't tell yelpers a lie. Some of the previous reviews were several years ago and I think quite possibly it has changed ownership and cooks since the food didn't even look like the pictures I saw on yelp and several things on the small menu were not served there any more when we tried order them. So it is the saddest thing when the only food item that was good that we tasted at this restaurant was the pickled cucumbers they brought as a side dish. Yikes!!! I wonder what the people who recently reviewed were thinking. Wow. The rest of our food was not good at all. I probably had the worst soon-dubu I ever had in my entire life. It tasted like they put a single shin ramen season packet (for the red coloring) into like a couple gallon of water and heated it up, threw some tofu and some pieces of seafood and then charged 20 bucks to make like a 19 dollar profit!!!! It was shocking that they actually serve that and called it soondubu! It was so so bland! Usually soondubu soup has deep flavors with some kick. This one was like hot water with slight hint of shin ramen packet. Also the rice they gave me with it was old and rubbery. It had a smell of rice that was almost at the brink of going bad. It actually tasted like they got old rice they had put in the fridge and microwaved it. I have never seen a Korean restaurant mess up the most basic thing like RICE! The bibimbap wasn't much better. Flavorless and instead of a fried egg on top like normal, they actually had a sweet Japanese style egg that was rolled. This is why I think maybe the chef doesn't know how to cook Korean food and is faking it. I was so so so disappointed and disgusted that I stopped eating and left after paying my bill. The waitress was so nice i gave her some tip since it's not her fault the food was so bad! Like I am not lying, we left and went to a different restaurant and ordered food to go and had dinner in our hotel room!!! I can honestly say that the first time I had to do that after going out to dinner!!!! Usually even if it's not the best, you are at least able to eat some of it to satisfy your hunger at least....that was not the case this at this particular restaurant!

FOOD - Bibimbap: rice topped with beef, carrots, mushrooms, spinach, jicama, and scrambled eggs. So good and filling! It came with my favorite banchan (kimchi, fishcake, and cucumber salad) and soup. 4.5/5 - Beef Bulgogi Bowl: beef and steam veggies. These also came with the same banchan and soup. 4/5 - Korean Fried Chicken: so crispy! It came with a side of gochujang (chili paste) and ranch. 4/5 SERVICE: There was quite a wait but the service was fast and friendly. 4/5 FINAL THOUGHTS: I would come back. I love a good mom and pops!

We were here for a late lunch on a Saturday. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a full house even it's late like 1:40pm. Guess it's a local favorite.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered their glass noodle stir fry with beef, and he got their lunch bento box. All good, nothing to complain. Their hot sauce tastes similar to the local Korean store at home. Love it.

Came after a long hike and this place hit the spot, couldn't tell if it was b/c we were starving or the food was just on point. The restaurant was small w/ limited seating, the service was good, our server although busy made sure to check on us multiple times, even the lady who looks to be the owner came out to ask about our day and to check if the food was tasting okay. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Overall gave off a warm and welcoming vibe, the type you get from a mom and pop Korean restaurant.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Mandu (5/5) - crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside. Loved it. Soon tofu stew (5/5)- hearty, flavorful, had a good amount of tofu and meats Dak gangjung (3/5)- chewy and dry, the sauce was tasty tho. Lastly, the banchan here is delicious, they kept having to refill it b/c we kept finishing it LOL. Also, I love that they serve their entrees w/ purple yam rice instead of regular white rice.

While looking for food on Thanksgiving, my husband and I were able to stumbled upon this restaurant in Flagstaff around 8PM. They were offering a Thanksgiving special menu, and unfortunately, it was only that menu that they were offering for the evening. This made it hard to make a decision since every meal was $20 and you cannot really order sides of things. But really , $20 for all of the food that came in the meal, it was also a really great option and so much food! We ordered the Korean fried chicken and the Bibimbop, both which were really good. We also got some of the spicy pork which was yummy and spicy indeed! We were missing one of our sides, which was replaced with a larger side of just cucumbers... this was actually a blessing in disguise as those cucumbers were amazing! I would honestly order a side of those again! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The interior of the restaurant is pretty small and when we went in, it was set up for a pick up , though I believe they usually have tables set up.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The music selection was pretty good too, I was jamming while we were waiting for food to go.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We got some peach juice , but they have other drinks that were not available that evening, such as smoothies. This is definitely a place I would return to when in Flagstaff!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Cute Korean restaurant in downtown Flagstaff.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Employees here are super nice. We ordered the Dakgangjung (deep fried boneless chicken) with the soy garlic sauce, and spicy glazed on the side. Wish the chicken was crispier. Next time I'll get the spicy glazed sauce because I liked it more and was not as spicy as I expected. Their banchan is good, kimchi was yummy. Mandu was delicious--hot and super crispy with good filling.

    Bibimbap. Quality ingredients and presentation.

We headed up north to Flagstaff to escape the summer heat of Phoenix and enjoy some hiking, and decided to stop by Kokiyo after seeing it on TikTok. We tried the bibimbap and chicken katsu, both were absolutely delicious! The dishes tasted fresh and made with quality ingredients, and we loved the banchan as well. The owner was so kind and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Great service and fantastic food, highly recommend!

Service was great the F&B Supervisor was terrific and Pearl our teppanyaki chef was fantastic. New York Steak, Lobster and Shrimp were all spot on. Veggie and fried rice good also. Reasonable prices, limited wait time, great service and friendly staff make this a great place to check out. They also have a sushi bar which we didn't try but heard good things. I will say the bill is confusing with an added gratuity, tax etc. We actually waned to leave a bigger gratuity but was too difficult to figure out after a few cocktails.

What I thought was a $250 meal I tipped $100 on (again, service and meal were amazing). It was actually a $190 bill with an 18% gratuity already added. In all fairness, I trusted and didn't look deeper at the itemized receipt until I left and went to add it into my books. I wanted to be extra generous because we really had a good time, but I ended up tipping almost as much as our bill ($140 / 75%). It is what it is, I'm happy the girls got it, but I kind of feel taken advantage of by the way the receipts come out. They show the tipping estimates but fail to notify you you've already paid 18%. Probably won't be back.
