Apparently this is related to another nearby tavern by ownership. My husband and I came in here to watch some sports and have a few drinks (night cap). They do allow dogs on the property which was a plus! Staff was extremely pleasant and professional. The bar appetizers and snacks look quite good, with the wings in particular. However, we had eaten elsewhere (so can't comment on the food) and again just came in to top off our evening with a few more adult beverages. It was fairly busy as it's College move in weekend as school starts Monday. Lots of parents with their- send off to school students. We were on an overnight in Flagstaff and were looking for a place that was showing the March Madness Elite 8 games. Like other small towns or college towns, things shut down pretty early but luckily, we walked from Hotel Monte Vista to The Corner Tavern, they were open AND were showing the games! The staff were all really nice and didn't even bat an eye about turning the game on the big tv. They were also playing a Top 2000's playlist, which made my millennial heart happy. We grabbed a couple drinks and a warm toffee brownie for dessert (it was really cold outside). All the tables are perfect for groups of any size and they even had charging ports (just bring your own cable). We didn't make it in time for Happy Hour, but they did have a few all day specials, like a bottle of champagne with unlimited OJ for $15, or buy any shot and get a beer for $3. Came up for the night from Phoenix and this place is open late and I was so hungry for a burger it was phenomenal I'm not joking it was the best burger Iv had in a while . Decided to stop in for a quick drink and bite while navigating our way through downtown Flag. Classic sports bar that resemble several in the Valley with larger TVs and ice cold domestics on tap. The cheese curds were surprisingly good and I am very judgemental when it comes to that particular appetizer. Decent HH specials with a pint and shot along with other drinks. Definitely a tavern. Obviously don't come here for a nice dinner, this is more of a sports bar - they do have a good bourbon selection, and plenty of good beers of draft. Service is back and fourth. Loving this new place. It took over the Majerle's space. They moved the tables around for a better sports watching experience. If you're looking for a great local place to watch the game, this is the go to place. Plenty of beer for everyone and full bar. Not much of a wine list. Good bar food. The worst bar experience I've ever had in my 73 years on this rock. The D.J. Tim refused to let me sing "I See Red" by Everybody Loves an Outlaw because it's not a sing-a-long and he didn't know it. What an arrogant little man. They also removed the chairs with backs from the bar at 10. I asked why, as I thought they were joking. After serving my country for years, I had to come to Flagstaff Arizona to catch the Amtrak to get back home. I came in here because I was so hungry. All I had was my bag on me. I have epilepsy required to have a service animal with me at all times. The security at the front was very rude unwelcoming and told me that I am not welcome. He told me that I couldn't have or carry my bag with me. My whole life is in my bag. He could've just been kind and search my bag and I was about to grab my ID and let him search it then he told me to leave. I do not recommend this place at all . I have been to The Corner Tavern about five times. Each time there is a fairly consistent experience. The food is decent with variety on the menu. Prices are comparable to the rest of Flagstaff. There is a decent amount of draft beer on tap, with domestic, import, and craft available. There are a variety of liquors and some specialty options like Weller's. Prices are comparable to the rest of Flagstaff. There are large screens that are very suitable for watching sports. There is also a lot of space available to bring friends. The interior is very clean. Staff have always been friendly. During karaoke, country, pop, and light hip hop are considered acceptable. Hard rock is frowned upon, to the point where songs like Plush by Stone Temple Pilots or Alive by Pearl Jam will be removed from the karaoke playlist. The owners maintain pretty tight control over the music and the environment. Karaoke generally goes for around two hours, then the bar turns into a college dance club. Customers are not allowed to use the jukebox until around 8:00 p.m., even if the jukebox is turned on. Country, pop, and some hip hop are considered acceptable. I have seen bartenders cut the music when other customers put on screamo or other music deemed too heavy, even if the music is not filtered on the jukebox. I would recommend The Corner Tavern if you are going to watch a sports game during the day, or if you are a college student in your early twenties looking for a night out. I found this place while searching for somewhere to have a drink in downtown Flagstaff. I was greeted as soon as I entered with a friendly welcome. After grabbing a seat at the bar, I took a few moments to look around and check out the place. It has a very friendly and relaxed vibe. There are 14 taps with a nice selection of beer, and even champagne on tap - novel! There are TV's on every wall with a plethora of sports programming selections. The menu is about what you might expect at a sports themed tavern, and the prices are very reasonable. After getting settled in I learned that this is a new establishment- family owned. It was previously a Majerle's location. I'm happy to be the first Yelper to add this new business to the Yelp family and be the first to offer a review. Once inside I saw the menu clarification that it was for domestic beer, which isn't a big deal since they have a number of craft beers on tap. I had yet to discover peel off tab state lottery tickets until setting foot in this establishment. Despite the humid and um, distinctive scent of the place, inquisitive me just has to indulge in the peeling of the tabs and get rich scheme. My friends were bewildered by the fact I hadn't ever seen these in Arizona or elsewhere, and I haven't lived a sheltered life by any means. Not expecting much.... Bar is cool screw the DJ i went to request a song, Said DJ spent the first 5 minutes sexually harassing a women over text calling her very derogatory slurs. I then make the request asking to move a song up. He then does it and asks for money. I just got into town I have no cash. He proceeds to flip me the bird and tell me to F*ck off. I do the same. He then tries to call me out over the speaker killing the vibe in the bar for a good few minutes before begging someone to hand him his shot from the bar and to sing. So yeah, won't be going back. Also to the DJ himself I hope your life turns around enough where you aren't calling women slurs over text. Also to the bar owner I hope you Vet the people you hire. Walked in wearing my military riding vest and was approached by a bartender demanding me to take it off or leave. Left without incident and walked to Atria (an upscale restaurant/bar) Was greeted there with open arms and "thank you" for my service. (5 stars for that place). I returned to the corner tavern after an hour is so and removed my vest to avoid any conflict. The rude tattooed female bartender from earlier was still there and was noticed telling the GM (now know as Brittany) about the conflict from earlier. Brittany now approached me and asked about my vest (which I was not even wearing now) . I replied to her (why are you even asking about this issue? I'm not wearing it). I was standing alone minding my own business having a drink, leaning up against the end of the bar when I noticed someone had left gum stuck under the bar. I took out a pocket knife to try and remove this gum from my shirt and then was approached by Brittany and told to leave. I asked why and was told "because I was making someone uncomfortable". I have spent years protecting people of this country and now because a bar has poor cleaning standard, I have a ruined shirt and been told to leave because someone's feelings were hurt? Where have we gone? What is this society turning into? Before leaving I asked The GM for her number to have the bar cover the cost of the laundering or repair of my shirt. She did write down a number, however after 3 attempts to contact her she has not replied (assuming it's a wrong number) If you know the owner of this place, please let me know who I can contact to follow up with the service levels and lack of respect for military and law enforcement guest at this facility.
