What a dog-FRIENDLY beer pub! We were stopping by in Flagstaff, before heading back to our home in…read moreLas Vegas. And we had our 25-pound dog with us. We always travel with our precious dog, even on airplanes, inside the cabin. I was so excited to announce to my hubby (who is often skeptical) that I found a dog-friendly brewery. To my own surprise, dogs are even allowed inside the brew pub. Now that is exceptional! This review is a month behind, so I cannot recall the beer we tried, BUT one was IPA & the other was wheat beer, both of which were tasty! The bar manager & female bartender (Kate) were very nice & sociable too.

Love flagstaff and when enjoying a family spring break vacation nothing is better than beer to go…read more Hops on Birch location has been a bar for I believe over 20 years and the new owners are keeping that local vibe going strong while bringing in amazing beers in cans to go. Small space with just a few tvs so you gotta make friends. And if I would have stayed I'm sure I would have made many, however I just grabbed a few cans with killer art that sounded great to go. While chopping it up with the co owner I sampled a few others and i gotta say they take the week of St Patrick's day serious as there was tons of Irish festive merch and food already spread out. Giant friendly faces, darts food and beer, this place would be a favorite of mine if I was a local. Regardless I hope you stop in on your wonderings

Another great spot in Flagstaff. The beer and pizza combo here is second to none!…read more The beer is home crafted here at Dark Sky. The pizza is from Pizzicletta, a wood fired establishment that has its own location down the street, but also makes pizzas here for the perfect beer and wood fired pizza combo. The pizzas are light and fluffy, with that Neapolitan style stretching and baking, and a perfect char to round out an amazingly well made pie. Large indoor space and a comfy outdoor beer garden with plenty of casual seating all over. Great beers, amazing pizzas and a super fun environment makes this spot perfect for a friends and family hangout. Kid friendly so bring the little ones as well.

I usually avoid Korean inspired food at non-Korean restaurants, but I caved and tried it here at the suggestion of an employee. I shouldn't have. It was definitely not Korean-like. It was basically just a cole slaw fried chicken sandwich, and the chicken was mediocre. The salad tasted bitter, not sure if it was the salad, the dressing, or both. I tried one cheese curd, which tasted all right. That would probably have been a better pick. Ambiance - outside, there were lots of people hanging out. Good vibes. I could smell the strong stench of cigarettes from other customers, which was gross. Not sure if the heaters work, as it was cold but none were on. Bring a warm layer if you plan to be there in the late evening.

We've never stopped in to this bar on other visits to Flag. But the large, brightly lit "cocktails"…read moresign called us in this time. This divey little cocktail bar is located down a red hall of the Monte Vista Hotel. The hotel has a fancier bar called Rendezvous, but sometimes you just want a stiff drink in a very unassuming spot. The Monte V cocktail lounge can do that. Loud punk music playing in the background and an older group of people in the bar. It was early like 8:30 or so, I can't say how busy this place gets, there's a large room in the back that apparently used to have a pool table. I think they might have live music sometimes back there. Bartender was friendly, I think he said Steve was his name. He said he makes his old fashioned with the sugar cube still which isn't done by many, it's kind of old timey or divey but it works. It's closer to the original recipe he said. I saw he had a bottle of Luxardo, which is a maraschino cherry spirit, and I have a bottle at home but never know what to make or have enough things so I asked him to make me something with it, he opted for a last word since his bar had green chartreuse. Gin, luxardo, chartreuse, and lime make this lovely cocktail. Our drinks were great and at $12 each, a spirit forward deal! I would definitely come back and have another round of drinks here. This is not a fancy place and I didn't read the other reviews but I have no reason not to give 5 stars, it's a good dive bar that I enjoyed.

I have now had two deeply disappointing experiences at MV that raise serious concerns about…read moremanagement's judgment, customer safety, and the consistent and fair treatment of patrons. A few weeks ago, while at the upstairs bar with my friend, I was physically kicked and tripped by a male patron because of the hat I was wearing. After relocating downstairs to avoid further confrontation, I was approached, yelled at, and harassed by a man and woman associated with the individual who assaulted me. When I attempted to seek assistance from the female bartender downstairs, she ignored me. Fortunately, a security guard promptly intervened and instructed the individuals to leave me alone. Another security guard later checked on me upstairs to ensure I was okay. Both security guards were professional, courteous, and helpful. For clarification, I did not consume alcohol that evening and did not interact with any other bartender. Unfortunately, my experience on Halloween was even more concerning. While walking between the upstairs and downstairs areas looking for my friend, I briefly spoke with a group of people near the upstairs bar. I had not approached the bar, interacted with a bartender, ordered a drink, or caused a disturbance. Nevertheless, security escorted me into the lobby and accused me of making a bartender uncomfortable and instigating an incident. I strongly disputed these allegations as they were false. When I questioned the reason for my removal, the previous incident was brought up, despite the fact that I was the person physically assaulted and harassed during that encounter. I specifically asked whether my Halloween costume was the reason for my removal. The security guard ultimately confirmed that management wanted me to leave because of my costume, which expressed support for ICE agents. I fully respect MV's right as a private establishment to establish and enforce its policies. I did not argue or cause a disturbance. I left peacefully. However, customers should reasonably expect policies to be applied consistently and without inappropriate political bias. Being removed under circumstances involving my political expression, particularly after being accused of something I did not do, raises legitimate concerns about management's decision-making and fairness. What is especially troubling is the apparent double standard: the individuals who physically assaulted and harassed me during my first visit were not asked to leave, yet I was removed during my Halloween visit despite not engaging in any inappropriate behavior. I want to emphasize that my concerns are directed toward management's decisions and not the security personnel, who treated me professionally and respectfully. I hope MV takes these concerns seriously because customers deserve safety, consistency, fairness, and respect, regardless of their political beliefs or viewpoints. Do better, MV, it is okay for someone to support President Trump and our wonderful ICE agents.
