Oh my goodness, this place! I found out about it from social media and the Food Network. We were looking forward to eating here our whole trip, and we are seriously sad we can't eat here more often due to distance! You're greeted with a signed Guy Fieri poster hanging in their entrance. We were seated promptly in a cozy booth. The kitchen is open and you can see them tossing the pizza dough up in the air occasionally. Such a cute little restaurant! Michael (Mike), was our server and he was so great. He said he's been working there for 11 years. I told him how I knew about the place and he said the episode on Food Network aired in 2017 and things have never been the same since! I can imagine! He really knew the menu well and took the time to tell us about the restaurant and their certifications. This place is a VPN Certified pizzeria by Verace Pizza Napoletana! I love that they also designate what Guy ate on their menu. I went with the Belgio Dolce Pizza, the 3rd place winner at the International Pizza Expo in 2014. The pizza is white sauce based, with house-made mozzarella, pecorino romano, oregano, shaved brussel sprouts, calabrian chili oil, Molinari soppressata, local honey and crushed pistachios. Mind blowingly amazing. My oldest got the chicken Parmesan on Mike's suggestion and my youngest got their version of a meat lovers pizza. They each got an Italian soda and I got a mocktail cherry smash--delicious! Mike suggested their tiramisu for dessert--stating it's a modest portion, good for sharing. I told him we aren't the biggest fans of tiramisu, but he assured us theirs was amazing--more custard and not very coffee-y. He said if we didn't like it, he'd buy it. Okay, sold! WOW! There's still easily a 30-45 minute wait even with a reservation. Parking is very limited also btw. Service was stellar. The Belgio Dolce pizza was just ok imo. We actually preferred the Marmalade pizza instead. Carnivore pizza was what you expect it to be to be but the soft crumbly sausage was a nice touch. The food was delicious and served hot for the entire party. They are toddler friendly, and had a fantastic menu. The server was knowledgeable about the menu items and recommended great options. This place came highly recommended by a friend and we did not regret coming. The restaurant is cozy inside and was very busy but service was very quick despite how busy it was, which blew us away. Overall an excellent experience. All the white sauce pizzas were great, the arugula salad was delicious, and the spicy shrimp pizza was surprisingly great as well. We found this Based on a local PBS show we saw on you tube and not Triple D. It has a rating from Naples that claims their pizzas are made authentic. I it is fun to see them toss the dough in front of you. Probably the best Margarita pizza I've ever had. We also had a burrata chile infused side dish. That was great. Service was wonderful I see why people come here. The happy hour was very generous with discount prices on drinks and some items. I'm giving it a 4 because I don't understand why they charged a 4% flagstaff service fee. We originally thought it was a city thing they couldn't help. We ate at two other places and were not charged this fee. I enjoyed everything about Fat Olives! We were seated at the bar and I'm so glad we were. The bartender was amazing. You can tell she truly loves her job. Pizza, service, decor is splendid! I ordered meatballs and chicken parm. The meatballs looked like a beef and pork blend, but were not fried and were so uniform in texture It struck me that they were likely heated from frozen in mass. The chicken parm was beautiful, but it seemed to me the cutlet was likely baked with the sauce cheese from frozen as well. (Is that the trick with the small skillets? Are we saving a step? It is a busy place and clearly a local favorite. My advice is stick to pizza and beer. read more

Stayed the night in Flagstaff overnight and the hotel front desk recommended Fat Olives and it was amazing! So much food for one person but I gave it my best shot. Fat Olives is a great Italian restaurant located in Flagstaff. The parking lot is extremely small and easy to miss when driving but. Fat Olives is extremely busy and if you don't make a reservation, the wait can be a few hours. Make a reservation days ahead. With all that being noted, I have been to Fat Olives many times throughout the years and they have never failed to deliver the quality they are known for. Even though it is extremely busy, the service is fantastic. Our waiter was extremely kind and attentive and the atmosphere while lively was extremely calming. Fat Olives is known for their pizza, they have a brick oven from Italy and it makes a complete difference. I ordered the Fat Olives pizza and added prosciutto (not baked in, added afterwards). While it has ricotta on it, the pizza was "dangerously" light (easy to eat the whole thing in one sitting). The flavors are fresh and the tomato sauce was the perfect level of acidity. Someone else in my group ordered the Pesto Spaghetti, the spaghetti comes coated with a perfect amount of pesto and two crispy pieces of prosciutto. Visited the restaurant on Saturday, super busy even it's 1.30pm, way past lunch time. This review was for the arugula salad and pesto ham pizza (ms piggy). The pizza and salad were big portion. I like the sweet pecan bits on the salad, the salad dressing was light and refreshing. Pesto pizza was delicious with the ham and pesto sauce. We waited for 30 minutes to get seated, once we placed our order, the food came out quick within 10 minutes. Overall good food, quick and friendly service. Fat Olives is the must visit Italian restaurant in Flagstaff. It's a quaint and ethnic dining area with an open view of the kitchen. Very Italian in the feel and lighting. There's plenty of room but the place gets packed. The servers and waiting staff are great. I had the meatball appetizer and they were fabulous!!! The Miss Piggy pizza is a creamy pesto pie with mortadella bacon crumble and caramelized onions. I enjoyed that pizza, especially the Neapolitan style crust thin inside with puffy crust. Terrific!!! I love Guy Fieri, so I had to come eat here on my most recent trip to Flagstaff. Even on a Monday night, this place hardly had any reservations available but were able to accommodate us last minute since we came in early (around 4:30 pm). Ambiance here is cozy and inviting, what you'd expect from an Italian restaurant. Their happy hour specials were great - a strong margarita for $5.50? Yes please. We were able to get a few rounds of those while waiting for the rest of the party to show up. We kicked things off with the burrata appetizer which was delicious and packed with prosciutto. I had to get the Belgio Dolce pizza, which Guy ate, as my main. What a mix of flavors - Brussel sprouts, Calabrian chili, Soppressata plus honey drizzle? Yes please. Fat Olives is my main motivation to return to Flagstaff. A celebrated treasure featured on Diners, Drive Ins and Dives, my main question was- is it worth the hype? Truly, if I had it my way, I would have tried a new dish here everyday of our stay! As I write this, I still long to try their desserts, so yes, I believe it is. The best decision of our trip was sitting at the pizza bar. At the pizza bar, you're able to watch the construction and execution of each dish, smell the scent of fresh tomato, hear each chop of the knife, and take in the magic that is the handcrafted woodfire oven. At the pizza bar, you're able to indulge in the bustling flow of the kitchen, but most importantly, at the pizza bar, you're able to converse with the chef. While casually twirling pizza dough on one hand, chef recommended we try a dish that we couldn't order anywhere else, so we did. A red pepper tapenade was the dish of the day, and this twist featuring red peppers, artichoke hearts and more served as the perfect appetizer to the kenai pizza. I can describe the flavor no better than Guy Fieri himself, so I won't attempt to, but it's certainly worth ordering. Too full to indulge in dessert, I'll be back! If you had any hesitation in visiting, I'd recommend visiting for lunch to avoid long wait times (we were seated immediately) and bringing a few friends as the pies feed 2 more or less. Stopped in here while on a family vacation. We selected this place because we saw that it was a Guy Fieri favorite. The parking lot was fairly full but we found a spot. Now this place isn't amongst all the restaurants near the I-17/I-40 area. It's on the east end of town. Seeing lots of locals dining and lots of take-out orders was a good sign in my opinion. This is an Italian restaurant...not just a pizza place. And prices are reasonable for what you get. Upon arrival, we were told it would be a 30 minute wait for our party of 7. But they were able to seat us after just 10 mins! The inside decor is nothing overly fancy, but it was nice. There's even a covered outside eating area. There's a small bar area should you just wanna have a drink or two. Our waiter was always on top of things. Our food came very fast! Besides ordering some of the more popular dishes such as pizza and spaghetti, we decided to throw caution to the wind and ordered Stracciatella...something none of had even heard of. This appetizer was very tasty and a great beginning to our dinner. Everyone enjoyed their food and most orders were way larger than we expected. We definitely took our leftovers. Our lovely waitress did mention that since we have a small table, we would be getting our food in phases and by the speed she was cleaning up and food was coming out, all of our dishes were pre-made and simply sitting on the counter. We clearly saw our pizza sitting on the counter before she brought it to us. Im sure it was sitting there for a while because by the time we got it, it was pretty much cold. We wouldve sent it back but didnt want to wait after the long we had already. The price is reasonable but they do add some type of surcharge which didnt make sense. Yum! We were visiting Flagstaff and wanted something we could just pick up but that was filling on the day we got there. We went with Fat Olives! It was about an hour for the food after we placed the order, and this was on a Thursday night. When I went in to pick it up, it definitely looked busy inside! Service when picking up the food was lovely, very nice hostesses. For food, I ordered the fettuccine alfredo, which had chicken and mushrooms. So good! The chicken was grilled to perfection, and I loved it. The sauce was also spot on, sometimes alfredos can be very bland but this was seasoned very well. I can see why this place gets so busy! Some of my best culinary excursions have taken place in Fat Olives. Flagstaff can be bogged down by fast food chains and expensive restaurants, but Fat Olives sits comfortably above the rest with its delicious pizzas and pastas; it's a classic for good reason. This particular dinner was for a banquet, and we dined in their private room, which is perfect for parties larger than ten in my opinion. The rest of the restaurant is lively, crowded, and welcoming. It's not too out there for an Italian restaurant when it comes to ambience, but it does lean on the rustic side. The staff is amazing and they are always helpful and friendly. I ordered the Marmalade pizza, which is a delicious sweet and spicy 'za that pairs nicely with a refreshing Italian soda (get strawberry).
