SALMON

This was such a cute spot with second floor seating. The food was absolutely delicious I recommend the Branzino or salmon for a little more flavor. They had a variety of wine options as well. Service was friendly but there was a long wait for food and to be checked in on- it was a very busy Saturday night nonetheless. Overall a great spot but I wouldn't come here if you're in a rush- its an experience that will take you a bit over an hour!

Went for my bf's bday celebration & it was such an outstanding experience! The service was incredibly friendly and welcoming, they were super attentive and accommodating. The food was SO good and fresh. Get the steak frites!!!! It was super tender and flavorful. The Greek salad was also light and refreshing. The chicken kebab plate was honestly just okay, and the hummus and Pita bread was solid. The star of the show was the borek flaky bread appetizer and the steak. The patio seating outside was nice and a vibe. I loved it here !!!

This place is hands down the best! Everything on the menu is phenomenal. My family has been dining here for years. Alex and Elson are the best servers and work so seamlessly as a team. The restaurant is gorgeous and has a beautiful covered patio. They also have a bar area that has full service. We will eat here time and time again.

I've been so excited to go here for so long, but it's definitely a little overhyped. The spanakopita were way too cheesy, but they were perfectly done other than the excess of cheese. The hummus was divine. The pesto pasta was fine. The seafood risotto was fine. My issue was that none of these were like oh my gosh best thing ever or something I'd want to spend money on going out to eat again. The ashta cake was the best thing I had by far and the most unique!

We went today for our friends celebration and our server went above and beyond! He helped us take photos, cut our cake, constantly checking our table if we need anything! I personally ordered the chicken kabobs & a few at our table ordered the beef version and meats were all cooked perfectly and food was all delicious! The vibe outside was very nice with all of the lights - wish I had more photos of it!

Stopped by here for a quick dinner bite. Man this was delicious. Parking is across the street from the restaurant. It's an upstairs restaurant with outdoor indoor but i love the outdoor vibe better than the i door specially with spring time. I had the fish it was delicious fresh classic branzino perfectly seasoned with a slice of lemon to squirt over the fish. i do however wish they should have had more of a different side than potatoes although the potato were good so i ordered a side of hummus to go with the fish . Service is nice i do feel like the tables are in close proximity and that is not so great because i can totally ease drop on the next table. I wouldn't say it's intimate but they made the most of the outdoor space. I also had the spritz and totally delicious.

We loved this place!! We always go out in Pasadena and somehow didn't know this place was a thing. Service was awesome, food was delicious and very good atmosphere overall. Would recommend outdoor sitting. Will definitely be coming back.

I'll definitely be back! The restaurant was packed the night we went. I had a 6:30 reservation for two, but we were seated around 6:50 which honestly wasn't a big deal. We ended up outside on the terrace, and the vibe was really nice and intimate. It was a bit crowded, but understandable given how busy they were. they were clearly doing their best to accommodate everyone. Food: Wow. I was a little skeptical at first because I'm used to more traditional Mediterranean food and hadn't experienced it in a more upscale setting. I thought it might feel less authentic but I was so wrong. My partner and I went all out that night (aka we were pigs) We started with the borek (I love borek) and a mezze platter. The borek was good, slightly different from what I'm used to, but still enjoyable (and it's my partner's favorite dish that night) The mezze platter was generous; definitely enough for 4-5 people and included babaganoush, radish, feta, dolma, hummus, and tabbouleh. Everything tasted fresh, and it came with pita on the side. For entrées, I had the chicken kebab, which was amazing; I finished the entire plate. The chicken was so juicy. My partner ordered the steak frites with peppercorn sauce and absolutely loved it. And of course, we had to get dessert. We went with the bread pudding. I didn't get a chance to fully read the menu, but I'm pretty sure it had Baileys in it, which was nice. My only note is that it might have been better served in a bowl so more of it could soak in the sauce. Since it's sourdough, the outer crust was a bit too hard--even with the sauce, it was slightly tough to chew. But overall, still really good. Service was great, and the food came out quickly! Honestly, it's a crime I hadn't been here sooner. I've passed by this place so many times in downtown Pasadena, but finally made a reservation after seeing it recommended in a "favorite restaurants in Pasadena" post and I'm so glad I did.

This is a very nice little place in Old Town. The front is a little hard to find as it's in a little alley and the restaurant is upstairs. The group I was with ordered a good variety of the menu and everything was very good I had the branzino. It's was cooked very well -- the skin was nice and crisp and the meat was flavorful and juicy. I think it could have used a little something more ... Maybe a little more seasoning or maybe a little sauce on the side. The potatoes were also cooked well. I think I would have liked a little something else ... Maybe spinach or something with a touch of acid. The lamb shank looked great and my colleague said it was very good. Service was good.

First time here, it was date night with my wife. Street parking was free and easy for Sunday night around 7pm. A bit of cardio going upstairs, but we were quickly greeted by the bartender. There was no wait, kinda had a "hole in the wall" vibes. Staff were very friendly. We sat outside, there were heaters and 2 birthday celebrations going on. We started with some cocktails, then ordered the Linguini Gamberi and Beef Brochette with free, fresh pita bread and hummus. It was so tasty and surprisingly filling at a reasonable price.

Came here to celebrate Aquarius birthdays, Galentine's day, love, and friendship. Cafe Santorini accommodated our large party and were absolutely great hosts. The ambiance is warm and friendly. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. Highly recommend the chicken kebab entree as the chicken is perfection and it comes with delicious hummus and pita bread. Whether you are out on a date or celebrating with friends this place is the perfect place. Thank you again for your wonderful hospitality! Definitely will be back!

The location was small and tucked away right behind busy Colorado blvd in downtown. Service is excellent and the wait staff are always available to refill waters and drinks. Large party or 14, sat us in the patio. It was uber hot but once the sun was down, it was pleasant to be outside. Ordered everything shown here. I probably would pass on the meze sampling plate. I didn't think it was as great for the price. Everything else was pretty good. I forgot my photo of the cioppino. But nonetheless, it was good.

calamari salad
Truman W.

First visit after Covid. Chicken kabob still a perfect 10, grilled to perfection. However the $18 calamari salad is disappointingly low in the calamari to greens ratio (see before & after photo), worst of all they've replaced whole plump baby calamari with tiny rubbery rings, no bueno. Good service as before.

I tried asking for a receipt, one of the staff said, "we don't give receipt. " i only tried this place because of doordash offer. For the price i paid for the chicken kabob, there's so many better option. I should have just stick with massis at the mall. The chicken kabob is some what dry, the chicken is nor tender or juicy. At least it's not burn. Nothing is wrong with the rice, but i preferred the basmati rice massis used. However, I'm not sure why the rice is mixed with many piece of noodles. I hate when it puts the container sauce on top of the rice and not outside. I believe it's chili and garlic sauce. How would I know if the container is contaminated or not. Not sure why it is on top of the rice and not outside the to go container. The picture look better than what I actually got. In the picture, the chicken kabob look round and whole, what I actually got look like the whole piece of chicken got cut in half. The salad is room temperature. For sure, it isn't cold. Parking here is very challenging. I also got the wrap for 12 something. Honestly, 13.99 pho would have been a better choice for me. The order was made quick. I got my order to go, not much of the interaction for the service to have any opinion about it. I came here by chance, tried it, it did not made me feel wow on either its' price and its' food. I find no value in it, therefore, i won't be back. I don't know if other customer got their receipt, the staff here refused to give me mine.

The location is very visible as you drive north or south on Hill. Parking is available in a number of different areas. They have their own parking lot alongside the edge of the building. The Mediterranean Grill is located in suite 101. When you enter you walk through the inside seating to the counter to place your order. I had a number of questions concerning their menu and the gentleman at the register was very helpful in giving me suggestions of different dishes I might enjoy. I ordered a number of items so that I could get an understanding of their menu. I decided to order three items. A salad and two dinners. As I sat down to wait for my order, a staff member brought over a small salad and a small bottle of water for me to enjoy while I was waiting. I found out that the salad was a shirazi salad. It was bright and refreshing. The lemon and olive oil dressing was perfect along with the chopped onions, marinated cucumber, tomatoes, and parsley. Enjoyable! I picked up my carefully packaged order and was on my way home. I was eager to try some new flavors. The aroma of the food was still present as I opened each of the three items. The Greek salad with chicken had a great flavor. There were large chunks of lightly fried chicken pieces, with fresh cucumbers, feta cheese, olives, lettuce, onions, with their special olive and lemon dressing. This salad is a full meal, very satisfying. The chicken platter with white meat included rice, a marinated cucumber salad, a tomato, and jalapeno. I had a choice of with seeds or without and I decided to spice it up and ordered with the seeds. There is definitely a lot of food . then one dinner. I found out that it tasted good the next day. Their special sauce is amazing. The beef skewer was very tender and filled with flavor. The meat had been marinated and tasted great both warm and cold the following day, as did the other items. I was so intrigued by the menu that I went again for the gyro roll and the falafel platter. Both were well worth the return visit. Highly recommend the flavorful food at Mediterranean Grill! Their service, recipes, and food are well worth the visit. I look forward to returning to experience more items on the menu.

The dolmas were really good too. Moist and herby. The boregs kinda reminded me of empanadas in both flavors and textures from the crisp fried outer pastry to savory fillings. The chicken shawarma wrap was stuffed with tender marinated chicken, fries, a bit of tomato and pepper and schmearing of creamy garlicy spread, and came with a side of refreshing cucumber yogurt salad. The best part was when that pita soaked up all the other juices of the chicken to make it even more flavorful. The meats in the combo plate had a nice char, were super savory, flavorful, well seasoned but were a bit overcooked and dry. But that's ok cuz that's where the super flavorful dips came in. There was the refreshing cucumber salad, smooth creamy nutty hummus, and pungent garlicy sauce that paired perfectly with everything. It also came with rice, an herby bright tabouleh salad, pickled turnips and crunchy fresh onions. The baklava was MASSIVE and was a bit dry and hard but had plenty of crisp pastry layers, crunchy nuts, was amazingly sweet and cinnamony. Overall this place is pretty good. My first impression was how friendly everyone is, both employees and customers. I also noticed the aroma of mesquite smoke, which is a principle difference between their food and many others that use gas grills. I grabbed a table and didn't wait long before my order was ready. Lots of rice pilaf, hummus, and tabouli. Additionally, there was a portion of garlic sauce. The portion of meat was equally impressive. I was still afflicted with recent dental work so I had to eat slowly and carefully. Their food is very crushable if not for that. They also quarter the pita bread which allows easier dipping or making mini wraps. Anyhow, I'm sure I'll be back sooner than later to try the Lula (aka koubideh), lamb, and other unique house specials. The essence of wood smoke is especially good, so that's a high mark. 4.5 overall My only criticisms are the rice could have been warmer, and the sauce more garlicky.
