Every visit has been consistently outstanding. The food is simply exceptional. We've tried many dishes over the years, and honestly, everything on the menu has been delicious. You can truly appreciate the quality of the ingredients and the attention to detail in every plate. The service is equally impressive--friendly, professional, and always attentive, making every meal feel special. They don't offer a kids' menu, but that has never been an issue for us because our daughter has a very French palate and happily enjoys the regular menu. If you're planning to visit, I highly recommend making a reservation for the weekend, as it tends to fill up quickly. Also, keep in mind that they're closed on **Wednesdays and Sundays**. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply looking for an unforgettable French dining experience, Le Canard Enchaîné never disappoints. We always leave looking forward to our next visit. Highly recommended!

Charlotte's Restaurant & Catering is a modern American restaurant and catering company that opened…read morein Millbrook, New York in 2006. It was founded by husband and wife Mikael and Alicia Moller. Mikael started out as a restaurant apprentice in Sweden when he was just 13. He immigrated to New York City in 1981 and worked at several high-profile restaurants. Mikael met Charlotte when he began working as a chef for Charlotte's Catering where she was also working. After marrying in 1989, they bought the catering business. After a trip to Millbrook, they fell in love with the area and wanted to open a restaurant in town. They purchased the building that housed Allyn's Restaurant in 2006 and renamed it "Charlotte's Restaurant". The location was built in the 19th century as a church before being converted into a theater and finally a restaurant space. My wife and I recently dined at Charlotte's while we were visiting Millbrook. We were celebrating our sixth anniversary with a stay at Wing's Castle nearby. Charlotte's came highly recommended. We really liked all of the Autumn decor adorning the dining room. We started things off with some Autumn-inspired cocktails: I had the "Apple Pie Martini" while my wife had the "Warm Cider with Spiced Rum". They both really hit the spot. For entrees, I had the "Cornish Game Hen (with quinoa, butternut squash, pickled sweet peppers and rosemary sauce) while my wife had the "Creamy Lobster Mac & Cheese" (Maine lobster, bacon bits, herbed bread crumb with mixed greens and citrus vinaigrette). We both really enjoyed our food! After the dessert menu came around, we decided to share a delicious "Apple Galette" (local Granny Smith apple, sweet pastry crust, vanilla ice cream). It was a perfect way to end an excellent meal. We really enjoyed our experience at Charlotte's and highly recommend them for anyone visiting Millbrook!

If I can find out whether this is part of the regular menu, I'll return just for that! Service was great -- we were going to an event at the convention center, and could walk from there. So if you're going to something at the convention center and want a nice meal (especially date night) ahead of time, I'd suggest checking this place out.

This year's party of five dined on the patio. We sampled their clam chowder and onion soup ... both brought smiles and yummy noises. One party goer had the mussels and loved that hugh bowl of fresh tasting and well spiced sea food. I went full carnivore and had the steak ... pricy at $44 but perfectly cooked, tender and served with a fresh cut mound of fries. Dessert for me was the noise and it rocked. Others had cream brûlée and it too earned high marks. Why not 5 stars? There were a couple of minor service faux pas so I like to keep it real. But 4 stars are all well earned. And, I will be back at our next car club event. Recommended.

We have eaten here many times before but unfortunately we will not be back. The food ranged from…read moremediocre to quite good but was too inconsistent. We ordered the bread and butter off the menu (only way to get bread) and the butter was individually wrapped in packets labeled Sysco. It was too salty and not good at all. We adore the butter in France and expected better from a boutique French restaurant. We also experienced the owner as being quite argumentative and we experienced his manner as condescending when we made what we thought were two fairly normal requests. Two requests that this restaurant had honored in the past under previous ownership (but we were unaware of the change of ownership). Our experience was that the new owner belittled our requests. One, to cook the oysters (my mother can't medically eat raw oysters but adores them if they can be cooked. And this was a special birthday dinner for her.) And a request for organic wine which we had had at this restaurant before. (Non-organic wine gives her a headache.) We also found the owner quite argumentative and experienced his manner as condescending when we made what we thought were two fairly normal requests. **In response to the restaurant's comments below, the issue was not that he said no; it was the way in which we were spoken to. (My mother actually left the restaurant for a bit to collect herself but chose to come back in for the meal. I wish we had just left.) The waitress was lovely and attentive. She was professional in all of her interactions with us and we were very grateful for her kindness. The eggs mayonnaise was just ok (could have made better ourselves). The ratatouille was quite disappointing, no depth or real flavor- definitely would have been tastier if we had made it ourselves. The branzino was the only highlight of the meal yet they had left a cluster of the green bean stems on the plate... ? On purpose? The night before we had an excellent dinner at Alta in Lenox Center. Don't hesitate to go there! Cafe Triskele used to be consistent and excellent. Unfortunately, our experience this time was very different. ** My comments below were added after the restaurant's response: I have made a few minor edits above to clarify my original review. I would also like to note that the person who posted the restaurant's response below was not present during the interactions described above. And at no point during the evening was an apology offered or did anyone come to our table to acknowledge what had happened or ask if there was anything they could do to address the situation.

We eat out about 3-4x a week and the best restaurants are always the ones (even at their worst)…read morethat would never leave a patron hungry. The "petit" portions and prices here are out of control and should be an embarrassment. As an example: The family next to us was a great example of starving children--first world edition. I was thinking about augmenting my salmon dish with another dish, just in case I got hungry, but when the crêpe arrived to the table next to us, the young boy looked disappointed. It was tiny and apparently they are not made fresh because when I asked they said they only had one more. How does one run out of crepes? Maybe no more bananas or Nutella? After he finished eating it, he was scraping every sign of Nutella drizzle from his plate, and then I heard him say what I think all of us were feeling. "Mom, I'm still hungry" with which his mom asked the server for something else, and meanwhile, my husband and I looked at each other and smirked in accord. Our dishes (shown) were about $18 each and we did leave dissatisfied and still hungry. The quality of the food was very good, but two shrimp tacos with barely anything inside them was literally shameful and shocking, and my husband who had low blood sugar was hoping this would help but it did nothing. The place is undoubtedly charming, the servers wonderful and accommodating, but the food on a Sunday brunch needs to be reviewed, and attention must be paid to the fact that brunches are usually the first meal of the day for many, and with that people expect something substantial to kick off the day until dinner. Add another taco. And don't let us ask for more bread or another meal for another $18. It doesn't fly. If you want a hearty brunch I suggest another restaurant.
