The service is equally impressive--friendly, professional, and always attentive, making every meal feel special. They don't offer a kids' menu, but that has never been an issue for us because our daughter has a very French palate and happily enjoys the regular menu. If you're planning to visit, I highly recommend making a reservation for the weekend, as it tends to fill up quickly. Also, keep in mind that they're closed on **Wednesdays and Sundays**. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply looking for an unforgettable French dining experience, Le Canard Enchaîné never disappoints. We always leave looking forward to our next visit. Although Poughkeepsie has a decent variety of excellent restaurant options, there aren't a lot of upscale places to select from. We opted to book reservations for Brasserie 292 for a Saturday night. When we arrived, we were nearing the end of the dinner rush. We were sat right away, unfortunately it wasn't all too romantic being sat in the middle of the restaurant but understandably the restaurant is on the smaller side. The waiter was attentive, and addressed any of our questions about the menu, even hunting down the bottle of pinot noir we ordered. We opted to start off our night by splitting a half-dozen oysters which came with their in-house hot sauce, and an order of pouple, which was cooked to perfection. For our entrees we selected the red wine braised lamb shank and the dry aged prime NY steak. Since sides for both entrees were not mentioned on the menu, we also ordered sides - wild mushrooms, brussels sprouts and crispy smoked peewee potatoes. Overall the food was excellent and I'm still dreaming about the mushrooms. If we lived locally, would we go back, maybe but overall we had a great experience. Since this was an upscale restaurant, I opted to not photograph our meals and enjoyed being present in the moment.

I don't see it on the online menu so it may have been a special -- but they did a mushroom/vegetable risotto, which was flavorful and the perfect size to not overwhelm. If I can find out whether this is part of the regular menu, I'll return just for that! Service was great -- we were going to an event at the convention center, and could walk from there. So if you're going to something at the convention center and want a nice meal (especially date night) ahead of time, I'd suggest checking this place out.

It's a very comfortable space and not noisy, so we were able to talk. As a vegan, I rarely get a coherent meal at a restaurant. So this was a pleasant surprise. Two of our six ordered and enjoyed the vegan Autumn Bowl of lentils with root vegetables. We enjoyed the crispy artichokes. Well executed. The sauce was spicy and enjoyed. Our party enjoyed Willow Salmon, with fennel orange salad: delish!; Pan Seared Trout was enjoyed; The duck breast was enjoyed. We got a bottle of red wine and some cocktails. All good . I had a strawberry margarita . We all had a good meal and a good time. Considering that the restaurant was not full, we felt the service was Slow. All of the staff were very nice. Bathroom was clean. Parking lot under the facility is large and adequate. Especially nice in rain and cold. A note about the Autumn Bowl: It's priced at $34 (all inexpensive components: lentils, carrots, squash), while the Mirbeau Burger (8 Oz CAB expensive Beef with bun, cheese, onions, portobello mushrooms, bordelaise, field greens, and fries) is priced at only $28! Also, the vegan Gelato is $3 more expensive than the regular Gelato. Why? The pricing doesn't make sense, and I think it should be re-evaluated. I'm grateful & appreciative for the vegan options. The quality of the food is amazing on a holiday with high volume. Our party of six was happy from foie gras and oyster appetizers to scallop, duck breast and steak entrees. The masterful pastry chef outdid herself with miniature Christmas trees filled with chocolate cake and mousse covered with green whipped cream "leaves". Christmas "wreath" similarly delicious and beautiful. Special cocktails were also praised by group.

It was founded by husband and wife Mikael and Alicia Moller. Mikael started out as a restaurant apprentice in Sweden when he was just 13. He immigrated to New York City in 1981 and worked at several high-profile restaurants. Mikael met Charlotte when he began working as a chef for Charlotte's Catering where she was also working. After marrying in 1989, they bought the catering business. After a trip to Millbrook, they fell in love with the area and wanted to open a restaurant in town. They purchased the building that housed Allyn's Restaurant in 2006 and renamed it "Charlotte's Restaurant". The location was built in the 19th century as a church before being converted into a theater and finally a restaurant space. My wife and I recently dined at Charlotte's while we were visiting Millbrook. We were celebrating our sixth anniversary with a stay at Wing's Castle nearby. Charlotte's came highly recommended. We really liked all of the Autumn decor adorning the dining room. We started things off with some Autumn-inspired cocktails: I had the "Apple Pie Martini" while my wife had the "Warm Cider with Spiced Rum". They both really hit the spot. For entrees, I had the "Cornish Game Hen (with quinoa, butternut squash, pickled sweet peppers and rosemary sauce) while my wife had the "Creamy Lobster Mac & Cheese" (Maine lobster, bacon bits, herbed bread crumb with mixed greens and citrus vinaigrette). We both really enjoyed our food! After the dessert menu came around, we decided to share a delicious "Apple Galette" (local Granny Smith apple, sweet pastry crust, vanilla ice cream).
