This place is beautiful! You enter into a patio area with sunlight and white everywhere. Perfect for a drink (unless you prefer something cool, in which case you have the inside.) A lot of the thought was put into the design because it's beautiful. Even the restroom, omg the sink was a duck with handle wings! The wallpaper was full of lions. A small gold cabinet had a book on Greece! The food was fantastic. The onions on the octopus appetizer is part of the sauce, but the sauce can go on the side. Fresh and well cooked. The lobster roll was amazing, although maybe fewer sesame seeds on the bun. The side of potatoes well fried with a fluffy inside. Oh, and dessert tahini over ice cream with orange cake was such a good bite. The service brought Phillip, the alligator water pitcher who fills up your glass. There's was never a prolonged period without water. The Coke also came in small glass bottles with sugar. Very classy! This is definitely worth the street parking.

We've just made our first visit to Dulu and the Doctor Sax House, and we are HOOKED! The historic…read moremansion was recently (beautifully!) renovated to create a cozy bar, various dining spaces, and fireplace lounge seating tucked throughout the rambling first floor rooms, plus elegant sleeping quarters located on the upper floors. We enjoyed dinner before an event, then returned afterward for late-evening cocktails next to the fireplace, and we can attest that there is no other space that feels like Dulu in the entire Lenox/Stockbridge/Lee area! The vibe is classic yet modern, intimate, but also a little bit edgy, with a funky eclectic decor and quiet club music playing in the background - a perfect mix of Berkshires elegance plus contemporary urban sophistication! We shared several items for dinner, and felt that all were well-executed and very enjoyable - including an excellent spice-rubbed shrimp appetizer with fresh green s'chug for dipping, a bright shaved Brussels & manchego salad (which would have benefitted from just a pinch more salt), a perfectly-prepared thick hunk of salmon with crispy skin & bitter greens, and an interesting squash gnocchi with sausage and rosemary (which would have benefitted from a final light splash of acid - perhaps a squeeze of lemon or a few drops of champagne vinegar). Cocktails and wine pairings were EXCELLENT - this bar staff really knows what they're doing! Service was kind and efficient, and we were truly made to feel welcome. Prices are definitely at the higher end, but we felt that the quality of the food and beverages we enjoyed, plus the INCREDIBLE Dulu atmosphere, more than justify the cost. Thank you, Dulu - we will definitely be back!

The atmosphere at dulu is nice if you are a guest or stopping by for a drink. For dinner guests it was underwhelming. Service was nice but didn't seem to match the quality of the prices. CLIENTELLE. they are not tippers. why would ANYONE want to work here? an entire table next to us jumped up like there was an AR 15 in tow because of a BUG ON THE WINDOW. we were ready to duck & roll. we waited and waited and waited on simple things. water. chips for the quac. the things that were listed on the menu that they didnt have. loke the things that bring people in: like the "homemade" pudding they didnt have. like the ham croquettes app they didnt have. we ordered the fire cheese app. the person who delivered it tried lighting it & it wouldnt light & they never came back to ignite it & the server who was waiting on us didnt know because teamwork & managerial leadership was nonexistant. no prescence of ANY manager or any one in charge. that bartender was a disaster. the two espresso martinis tasted like old coffee water w a shot of Baileys. awful. they shouldve paid us to be there. when a bartender has ONE customer & theyre talking sbout nails & their servers are depending on them for the entireity of the meal service these servers are screwed. i hope the servers wake up & go somewhere where theyll learn something like Brass City Cafe on Hamilton Ave to get a good meal & great service. so few places left in Waterbury. you wont see this clientelle @ Brass City or Diorios. theyd hide them away. no matter how much home improvement they do & ill admit great potential here. but i give it 8-10 months. not to mention the miserable experience they gave to one of their very first loyal customers who had a milestone 90th birthday. i cant tell you you how many times weve made resv's here explaining the event . & they act like its a damn surprise when we show up. awful. just awful. and hopeless. never again. felt bad for my daughter who was paying for it & my dad who just wanted to enjoy his 90th birthday at a place he once loved.

First off, I love this little town. It's quaint but feels current, and very walkable. We arrived around 430P and had no issues with parking right across the street. The signage is funny, and bathroom is clean. They have a nice sized indoor/outdoor space, and host weekly events. I would definitely love to come back. When we finished up with our kayaking, we passed by again, and the place got packed and was bustling, even on a Thursday evening. Now that our friend had moved to the area, we have a good reason to visit more often. The area is a nice escape from the city.
