I called the restaurant and was informed that the flowers were not there. Sure enough, we stepped in and she came a few minutes later with the bouquet! Service above and beyond!! The food was excellent, dishes with items you wouldn't have thought to put together, and an excellent dessert! Decor made you feel at home, cozy, like being in a house. Would definitely go back again! Thank you Claire

Our trusty Yelp app led us to this historic building and restaurant. I'm really glad we came to see some truly great architecture and learn some cool history of life before these United States. Even though the British tried to burn it down during the Revolutionary War, the family restored it to previous glory and it remained in their possession for over 200 more years! Now let's talk about the restaurant experience.... We were seated immediately and given a choice of indoor or covered outdoor seating. Laura came to get a drink order and offered some kids specials. She also put in our daughter's order right away so that she would be occupied and well fed. A chicken quesadilla with fries won her over and filled her up nicely. A bowl of New England clam chowder to start for me followed by a delicious Mushroom Omelette special. So fresh and tasty. The Mad Ukrainian ( formally MR or Mad Russian until the war broke out) had a delicious Reuben Sandwich with fries and a Garden Salad. After the salad and a half sandwich, she decided to save some room for dessert at another place nearby. Pair that up with a couple of local Beers and some soft drinks and coffee and we had an enjoyable lunch. Pricing is excellent compared to home prices and we ate with leftovers, drank, and got a historical glimpse back in time for less than $70. Home run in my book!

I was devastated; it was my birthday. I had been sick for over a week and was really looking forward to some good food. They suggested we come to the bar, which we did, and ordered our large and obnoxious take out from the bar. The food was wonderful. The people were professional and kind. Absolutely the best spätzle and mashed potatoes. The pork shank and the pot roast were warm and fall off the bone tender and dripping in a wonderful gravy. The Beet and goat cheese salad was fresh and not soggy. Everything was above par all this from a cardboard box after a 30-minute drive. They were very busy and still everything from the attitude to the food was fabulous. Please take the trip its worth it!

Frozen stuff including their meatballs and lots of other stuff. Hot sauce, chips and more.

really cute spot with so much potential!…read more great service! we sat right at the counter. the house beer was 2 options, and altho i wouldnt order this again, it wasn't bad and the label was cute. i grabbed the sundied tomatoe and chickpea meat(less)balls. i really wanted to like these, but unfortunately they were less than par. they would not stay together, they were too mooshy and fell apart. hopefully they can work on a better biding agent. the flavor was okay. there was plenty of sauce. unfortunately they dont give you bread for the excess sauce. we ordered the bread for the side and i think this was a $6 charge. i guess they figure u can just order the sandwich, but i ordered the bread because there was just so much sauce involved in the meatballs. my date got the regular meatballs and he was pleased. happy to see theres another option for me to try on the menu - the chicken meatballs. would give this place another shot while in town to try them.

One of the items was empanadas which I I wish I tried but now I know I can always come back here. The reason why I gave it one star less as I feel that corner tables are somewhat ignored and the fact that it was a hot day. There was not enough air going on unless you sat right in front of it I could understand if the restaurant was busy and they had a lot of Reservations, but it was middle of the day and some people sat outside which that's pretty cool that you have that outside dining and also sitting in that corner, you don't get to really enjoy the middle of the restaurants atmosphere they had wooden ovens as they cater more to pizza but again there's other variety as well. I will tell you this once you've had their white pie. You would not want to have it any other way as they put lemon and honey together.

Keep going...we were wondering if we were in the wrong place but the place is in the back! The vibes are warm, rustic, hunting cabin type with wood tables, wood stacked decoratively on the walls and antler type light fixtures. We sat at a table by the wood-fired oven and we loved it. That smoky wood fireplace smell We started with drinks, the guys ordered IPAs on tap...I went for the hot cider with a dash of bourbon. I found it light on the booze but I find that true most places. For an app, we shared a slice of toast topped with burrata. The thing was bigger than I thought. It was good. We decided to all order one of the specials, the short rib dinner with polenta and broccolini. Good Lord was it good. Huge short rib, delicious and tender, with a yummy Malbec Demi-glaze that was delicious. The rib sits on a big portion of polenta --seriously the best I've ever eaten. The broccolini was nice. I can see why they were running out of that dish for the night. Hubby ordered a mousse dessert that he enjoyed. I was too full to eat anymore. We had the squash bread with apple jam and the bone marrow + steak tartare as starters. Both were so good, especially the steak tartare that just tasted so clean and fresh, pairing nicely with the richness of the bone marrow. It came with these little potato slices that were scooped out to provide a perfect vehicle for the marrow/tartare. My partner had the carrot tart tartin, which he loved, and my scallops with morel mushrooms were perfectly cooked, with the hazelnuts providing such a nice texture. He enjoyed his phony negroni (they also had other NA options, including other mocktails, an NA beer, and an NA Riesling) and I really liked my Good Shepherd cocktail, their unique take on a dirty martini. We were too full for dessert, unfortunately. The service was great - attentive and friendly, but it felt like we were able to take our time and enjoy ourselves without feeling rushed, even though the place was busy.
