The space is tastefully decorated with nautical and ocean-inspired elements, featuring navy blue and white walls. Our waiter was immediately aware of my food allergies and my husband's celiac condition. He guided us through the menu with confidence, offering thoughtful recommendations based on our dietary restrictions and personal tastes. Many of the dishes could be customized in terms of preparation and side choices, which we appreciated. For drinks, my husband ordered his usual--a margarita--while I decided to try something new and went with the Backyard Iced Tea. His margarita was freshly made and even better served in a Yankees glass. The Backyard Iced Tea was fantastic--refreshing, not too sweet (which I loved), and it truly tasted like iced tea with a hint of lemon. Unlike a Long Island Iced Tea, it wasn't overly alcoholic or sugary, which suited my preferences perfectly. For dinner, my husband ordered one of the specials: Cajun-style red snapper with a side of sautéed spinach and a house salad (no croutons, with blue cheese dressing). I chose the broiled trio--lobster tail, shrimp, and cod--along with sautéed spinach and a house salad dressed with balsamic vinaigrette. Everything was delicious. The salads were fresh, and the balsamic dressing was excellent. My seafood was perfectly cooked and seasoned with salt, pepper, garlic, and paprika, then served with lemon and clarified butter. My husband's snapper was outstanding--probably the best I've ever tasted--and the sautéed spinach complemented both of our dishes beautifully. Overall, our meals were phenomenal. When we're craving seafood, we'll definitely be coming back.

I got the chicken fajitas and my dad got the beef stew. Both were generous portions -- the chicken and veggies were perfectly cooked and I have 1-2 meals worth of leftovers. The homemade tortillas were the best I've ever had. The hot sauce was fantastic too (unsure if made in house or not). Wanted to note that they now serve alcohol, as another reviewer mentioned they didn't. They have a full dining room plus a bar area, and both are equally nice. We went on a weekday evening and the place was fairly empty. Please do yourself a favor and check them out!

Highlight of this restaurant: amazing food but do not serve alcohol…read more Read on for our full experience - This restaurant used to be Maura's Kitchen, on Alden Place. It's a bit off the main street traffic and not advertised as they should. We were in the mood to try something new so decided to give this place a shot on a Friday night. The place was completely empty and I was a bit worried that this is not going to be a good meal. Once seated, the waiter brought a basket of tortillas chips and salsa to the table. My kids immediately attacked it. The salsa was not spicy so they really enjoyed it. A quick look at the menu we realized they don't serve alcohol, a bit disappointed but not a deal breaker. They did have many Virgin drinks such as sangria, Pina colada, Margarita, etc. I found their menu to be a bit all over the place. They have a Spanish section but also have burgers and sandwiches as well as Italian pasta dishes. Their appetizer also contains taco bowls and burritos which should be in main dish section?! The soup are also quite expensive, but maybe because they are big portions? The menu also don't give much description for the Spanish food (I'm no expert), so we made our orders and hoped for the best. The kids wanted milkshakes and I asked the waiter to split 1 order into 2 cups so they can share it. He was super nice to do so without charging extra. As the dishes come out, our worries were put to ease. Everything was absolutely delicious. Hubby had the shrimp sauteed (Camarones Saltados), big portions with a side of rice and salad. It was light and well seasoned, the rice were also very flavorful. I had the Mexican stew, which was tender pork in tomato based soup with fresh onions, lettuce and avocado on top. Comes with tortillas chips, green dipping sauce (guacamole-like, but not as thick), and a very spicy hot sauce (which I ended up adding to the soup as it was absolutely yum), and a side of rice. My daughter ordered the Garlic shrimp - she opt for mashed potatoes on the side. I was surprised to find the garlic shrimp was in a creamy sauce, but it was so good! I want to take that sauce home and add rice or pasta to it!! You can tell that the mashed potatoes were made from real potatoes. It has nice chunks to it and the color is slightly yellow. So good! My son had the calamari and it was served on a bed salad with lettuce, tomato, radish, and banana peppers. The creamy dipping sauce was so good too. We really wanted dessert but was so full from dinner that we'll have to plan better next time. All in all, great place with top notch food. I would give the food 5 but knocked 1 down due to no alcohol. We will definitely come back to try more dishes!!

Theres outside seating for nice days, a fire pit that seats many&if you dont have problems meeting new people. The food. OMG. The drinks, just delicious. Our party of 4 opted for drinks & I shared the warm brie with fruit with my friend. I ordered a white wine from Portugal called Vinho Verde, had a little fizz but not like sparkling, so good. My entree was Diver Scallops with mushroom risotto, topped with crispy leeks & an herb pesto. The portion was more than I expected, I must've had a half dozen scallops on my plate, so delicious, risotto was thick, scallops were plump. A friend had the same meal. My husband had the grilled flat iron steak, the potatoes it came with were bigger than a fingerling, crispy skin, just out of this world. Our server, whos name i didnt catch, was always available for refills, very nice man, but the other staff walking by would ask if we were good, so kudos! Dessert for this group was in the form of alcohol so we took our black walnut martinis to the fire pit, where we sat for awhile. This is a fine dining restaurant with the comfort of a casual bar with all the food & drink you can need. Pure satisfaction, I cannot wait to go back for the raw bar.

There are multiple rooms. Every single one of them is designed to make you feel like you've been on a guest list this whole time and nobody told you. A written description won't capture it. I'm trying right now and I'm failing. You just have to go. We sat at the bar. The bar looks like the bar in The Shining if the Overlook Hotel had been run by people who actually wanted you to enjoy yourself and not get murdered. The staff are proud of the place and you can feel it, that specific warmth of people who know they're working somewhere worth working. Service like that can't be trained. You either care or you don't. These people care. The food is spectacular. The drinks are better than the food. I'm going to let that sit there because the food is spectacular. I'm not here to tell anyone how to live their life, but bringing your kids to House of Stefas is like using a Lamborghini to pick up mulch. You can do it. It's a free country. But this is a place you take someone when you want them to fall in love with you. This is the restaurant equivalent of a third date where everything goes right. I saw families dining here with children who would be happy with chicken fingers. I don't understand it. House of Stefas is doing things to my palate that I didn't think were possible in the Hudson Valley. Five stars. I would give six but the system won't let me and frankly that kind of restraint is probably healthy.

"House" is in reference to the restaurant being located in a former home and being home-like, while Stefas refers to the family name of the two co-owners and brothers who had envisioned it -- John and Paul Stefanopoulos. LOCATION: The restaurant is located on Franklin Avenue. CONCEPT: The co-owners describe the restaurant cuisine as "freestyle Greek". It is a mix of family recipes and their international dining experiences. AMBIANCE: The interior of the building (previously Aurelia restaurant) was completely gutted and reimagined. The design evokes both a sense of surprise and recognition that the two brothers devoted much thought and effort into making the restaurant a special experience for guests. There are many different seating areas, each with comfortable upholstered seats. Together, the ambiance suggests a supper club -- which makes sense as that aligns with the brothers' experience and vision for this location. FOOD: The menu includes many traditional Greek mezze and plates, but also opportunity for culinary splurges and adventures through intriguing options called "Let the Gods Decide" and "Bounty for the Aristocracy". Can't miss the Portokalopita -- an orange-infused sheet cake topped with vanilla bean ice cream and draped in tahini. BEVERAGES: Creative cocktails include the Oracle and Versace 38. SERVICE: The co-owners pride themselves on their orientation towards hospitality and this is reflected in the service. Servers wear cream jackets, something I have yet to see in the region. The enthusiasm to please customers feels authentic.

It was my first time ever doing anything like this. Normally I'm very picky with seafood and complicated ways to eat food usually sends me. But this was sooooo good. Highly suggest going with a group of friends because it makes it that much more entertaining. Loved how the wall was covered in signatures. Super affordable for the type and amount of food you're getting. A decent amount of other options too if someone in your party isn't a seafood person. 10/10 I want to go back so bad

We were seated immediately, which was a great start. They serve Pepsi products, beer, and wine--no cocktails or hard liquor, so just a heads-up if that's your thing. The place has a casual seaside harbor vibe, with wood plank walls covered in sharpie graffiti. Nothing's off-limits; guests are encouraged to leave their mark. Our server, Kristy, was fantastic--patient, friendly, and really knowledgeable. She walked us through the menu and made sure all of our modifications (no corn or potatoes) were taken care of without any issue. I went with two snow crab clusters and half a pound of shrimp, tossed in a mix of all their house flavors. My husband chose the lobster tail and shrimp in butter garlic sauce. We both got a side of coleslaw. Our food came out fast--maybe in under ten minutes--and it was exactly what I was hoping for. Everything was cooked just right. The crab legs cracked open easily, the shrimp were tender, and the sauce? A buttery, garlicky Cajun dream--I could've honestly sipped it. This place definitely satisfied the craving, and I'll be back the next time it hits. Honestly, I might not even wait for my husband to tag along next time.
