I just hosted my daughter and son-in-law's baby shower here. It was an event we will never forget. The food was delicious! I highly recommend the mozzarella sticks and pretzel bites. The service was fantastic. Madeline, Julianna and the staff were extremely attentive to our guests' needs offering gluten free options and accommodating any and all allergies. Madeline always made herself available for any questions or concerns and stated from the beginning that we could text or call her any time. She also allowed us to come in and do our planning in the banquet room. The room has a skylight and is the perfect ambiance for a shower. First time going here and the food was so good and their portions were amazing! Service was kinda slow but nice. They didn't have enough seating so they sat us down at these awkward tables near the bar area. They give out delicious warm bread and garlic knots with butter and oil/balsamic, they were so good we asked for extra! Food was amazing - their soups, pasta onion rings and chicken parm are so good! Food was excellent. Ate in the bar area due to the dining rooms being occupied, which was completely cool. After the food came, asked for napkins 3 different times from the bartender and only got them when we asked a server walking by from the dining room. Also took forever to get water. Coming from a bartender and server, I have a lot of patience and understanding for wait times etc.However there was not one person at the bar. The bartender was training one person. As he made the drinks for the large party, he couldn't seem to quickly hand us napkins or get out water. After I asked the second time for water, he said "yeah sure" and went over and started to make a mojito or some other multi step drink. Again, if you know how to multi task you can just grab two waters quickly, and/Or at least communicate. No acknowledgment of these things and not one person checked on us. read more

Coming here for dinner was a treat since I last came on Mother's Day last year. It was awesome coming for dinner, as we had a buffet severed for an event with a large party. The staff did a wonderful job setting everything up in a timely manner as of course, a reservation was made. It was very convenient for them to have a divider set up, making it feel private so no one would be nosy. Enough food and drinks were provided for everyone's needs and also desserts. Following a change of plans - I, again, went to lunch with a small group of seniors and was pleasantly surprised by what others said about Jason Patricks being just another hamburger place. We had 10 in our party and were seated within a private curtained area, served by a friendly waitress and offered a wide variety of selections from salads to steak with a separate daily special menu. I had a salmon BLT on a seasoned roll which was recommended and was very good (for two meals). I'd heard of this place and finally got around to trying it. We wanted to try something new and felt like burgers. They offered burgers with gluten free buns so we placed an order for takeout. That burger was SO good. The patty was nice and juicy with this nice, crust on the outside. It was a really well seasoned, flavorful patty. I love a good burger and this was definitely a success. I love that you can build your own burger too so I made it just the way I liked it. We also ordered Irish nachos, which were made with waffle fries and they were good. I love waffle fries so I can't say I was disappointed but I wasn't blown away either. The fries that came with our meals were decent. I would have loved some fresh cut fries with a burger that was as good as that. I felt the pricing was fair and packaging was great. I would definitely return for those burgers and even try a few other items on their menu. read more

We arrived and sat outside on the patio for Karaoke. It was our first time and it seemed like a nice place. At the outset, it took about 15 minutes for our server to take our drink order, not a big deal as it appeared our server had tables both inside and outside. My wife ordered a bottle of wine, Prosecco, and the server indicated they didn't have full bottles of that brand but did have splits, equivalent to one glass. My wife ordered 3 of the splits because 1) A full bottle is equivalent to 4-5 splits and 2) our server seemed busy-thus it would be less work to bring a few refills out at once. Our server brought out the 3 splits along with a soda for myself. We enjoyed our drinks and ordered dinner. At this point our experience was very good. Then, after about an hour, my wife ordered another split, the server went inside and came back looking perplexed stating "Umm...I can't serve you anymore, the bartender said you have been cut off" in front of our friends who were sitting with us. My wife was absolutely mortified. Up until this point, we had sat outside the whole time, had no interaction at all with the bartender, my wife was not being loud, was not drunk, we had sat quiet at the table and had not even participated in Karaoke yet. Additionally, my wife and I go out to dinner often (about 3-4 times per week) and we are middle-aged, so we have been doing this a long time. We have never had this happen to us in our entire history of going out to dinner. We were obviously taken aback. My wife asked the server quietly "Ok...could you tell me why? Is it a 3 drink limit?". If that was the rule, we completely understood. The server said she did not know what the rule was but that if we wanted, we could go inside and speak to the bartender (who also appeared to be the manager). Our friends even spoke up for us and stated that my wife does not drive, that I am the designated driver, but to no avail. Now at this point we stopped eating, my wife was completely embarrassed and just wanted to leave. I went inside to try and speak to the bartender/manager and waited..and waited..and waited. After a few minutes she did acknowledge me and said "Will be right over". However, I continued waiting and the bartender still did not come over. I would have understood if the bartender was busy making drinks and serving other patrons but she was not; she appeared to be talking and laughing with a group on the other side of the bar. Still, I waited and she did not come over. I finally gave up and ended up just flagging down our server and asking politely for the check. (Note, this was not our server's fault, our server was friendly, courteous, and appeared to be trying to make the best of the situation that the bartender/manager had put her in). We quickly boxed up our food and left. I should note we went to another establishment nearby after this and were able to enjoy drinks and food there without any issue. I have 2 problems with the way we were treated: Clear Rule or Reason-An establishment should have clear rules or reasons in this situation, and the staff should know what the rules or reasons are so they can be clearly communicated to the customer. For example, if there is a 3 drink limit and that is the rule then we understand. But no one could tell us a rule or reason. Why were we served the 3 drinks and then, an hour later, abruptly and arbitrarily told no more? What is the rule or reason here? No one seemed to know. Accommodating the Customer-The burden of seeking out the bartender/manager to talk to them should not have fallen on the customer. The bartender/manager should have come out to speak to us. For example, she could have brought out our 3 drinks initially, observed us, and warned us that this is it if she felt there was something amiss. (She could have done that in much less time than it took for me to go inside, try to talk to her, and be ignored.) It is unfortunate as I could have seen us becoming weekly regulars here up until we were mistreated. read more

The Caesar salad was good, and the rest of the food was pretty standard...nothing bad, but nothing that stood out either. The main issue was with the steak. We ordered what was labeled as filet mignon, but what we were served was clearly a sirloin. These are two completely different cuts, and unfortunately, we were charged filet prices for a much cheaper piece of meat. If you're thinking about ordering the steak, I'd recommend asking to confirm what you're actually getting. read more

We are from CT and were just driving by and this place grabbed our attention. When we walked in De was very inviting and engaging. She made us feel like we were home immediately. We were going to order a simple burger, but she recommended her favorite 3 items: coconut shrimp, steak&blue cauliflower flatbread and the eggplant stack with side salad. We were not disappointed by any of her suggestions. The salad was large enough to share between 2 people and absolutely delicious. The flatbread was a tremendous crispy thin crust allowing the great flavors of steak, onions and blue cheese to shine through. The coconut shrimp was also very crispy with 2 tasty dips. Finally the eggplant stack was thinly cut eggplant stacked with ricotta cheese, sauce and topped with melted mozzarella with a side of rigatoni pasta. originally I was not going to post a review on this site, I figured perhaps the bad experience I had was specific to just me, or a bad night, but then great friends traveled down from Albany to come here not only for the karaoke, but also to try a new place, as they like to come down and try HV restaurants , and they eat, and drink and are willing to have a good time, spend money, and tip well. BUT, they experienced the same misery I did, but worse. My friends wife was refused to be served any more drinks although she was fine and sitting outside with her husband, also her designated driver. She was embarrassed in front of their friends and told this by a young server. All of this was decided by the bartender, she goes by "D" this is the same bartender that when I was there, completely ignored us, we did not get served, ordered a pretzel that took over one hour to get, after she forgot to put the order in. this place by far, is a local joint that caters to only a local crown and if you are not a regular, rest assured, you do not get service, and especially at the bar, you will sit and wait, and stare, and she will not stop talking to her other customers, who also seem to be comfortable with "outsiders" sitting without menus, food, drinks, or service. I am all for a local joint, but then keep it that way, dont be open to the public if the public is not going to get service and treated however this bartender sees fit. this couple ended up leaving after their mistreatment and went to another local restaurant where they ate, drank, paid, tipped, and enjoyed. obviously myself and the others that had bad experiences wont be back, but the fact this person is still given a position behind the bar and treating people like this leads me to believe the owners dont care. they must be doing well enough that losing customers is a non issue. read more

My wife recently surprised me with a early 70th birthday celebration at Jason Patrick's. I was totally unaware of this and was pleasantly surprised to see so many friends and relatives in attendance to share this event with me. Madelyn Kiggins had worked with my wife setting the party plans in motion. The entire large dining area was reserved for this event and sectioned off for the event. The staff was so accommodating, friendly , ensuring all the guests were all attended to. I was served my favorite beverage and they were attentive to ensure my day was enjoyable. The food was excellent. A buffet was set up and the variety of foods were prepared perfectly and were all delicious. I have known the Kiggins family for many years and they always provide excellent service and outstanding quality in all aspects of their business. What a disappointment. The food is basically pub grub, but the prices? Ridiculous. My husband ordered the fish and chips and I ordered a plain hamburger. We ordered an appetizer and my husband ordered two beers. Our meal, with tip, ended up being $117.00! The beers were outrageously priced at $9.00 each. They have an additional charge for the use of a credit card. The fish and chips were similar to something you'd get from a frozen food dinner. The hamburger had an odd, almost fishy taste. We've been in Poughkeepsie for six weeks and because we're settling out a family estate we've been eating out almost every night. This was our most expensive and disappointing meal in ages - anywhere! There's nothing like a lousy meal and feeling ripped off at the end of it all! read more

Every dining experience I have had at this restaurant has been disappointing. I find it shocking they are still open. Food is poor quality and the last time I was there it was freezing inside. The was the new Restaurant in place of Groggers on Rt.44. They updated the interior and modernized it. The inside still divided into 2 sections: Bar & dinning area. We came here to grab a quick lunch and was pleased to see how nice it looked inside. They are preparing for 2 big parties so had majority of the dinning room blocked off with heavy curtains. We were seated promptly and the waitress was tentative. We ordered steak burger, margarita flat bread, philly cheese steak, and child burger. I also had their jalapeno shrimp soup as app. The soup wasn't as spicy & flavorful as I had hoped. It was good, but not great. The other dishes were nice portion and cooked well, however, they were a bit luke warm, even the fries were not hot. I like my food hot so it feels like they were freshly made from the kitchen. I have to say I'm slightly disappointed but will try to come back again and see if they improve in the next few months. We had tried when first opened and was not a fan but we decided to give it one more try and we are so glad we did. 10 minute wait on a Saturday night awesome. Waited in the bar. The bartender was so friendly. Got a vanilla cinnamon apple pie martini ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Once seated, we got two apps. Buffalo chicken dip with pita triangles and pretzel with cheddar cheese dip. Both awesome. Next hubby had cheddar soup and I had the onion ale soup. Both so good. Probably one of the best onion soups I have had in a while. Next we shared a prime rib cheesesteak sandwich with onion and peppers. This was ok The steak was good but cheese sauce kinda non existent and instead of peppers and onions it had some onions and roasted red peppers that were more like pimento. Yuck.
