This is a new French restaurant trying to open amidst the Pandemic. We tried takeout dinner tonight. The food is very good, well prepared and flavorful. Perhaps due to the circumstances, the quantity was insufficient. The ratatouille was listed as an entree but was like an appetizer. The salmon was delicious but a small serving. This is the third time that I have eaten at Cafe Colline. On previous occasions the food and service were excellent, but third time was not a charm. While the pork chop was wonderful, the pate was dry, and the olive oil cake overcooked and also dry. Unfortunately the service was surly. Off night, or the start of a trend? We had a wonderful dinner last night at Cafe Colline. The service was great and we had fun with the waiters. We were able to sit at a little table on the sidewalk at a distance. My wife went ballistic over the Frisee salad with lardon. Their house made boudin sausage was really good so was the sea bass. If you go you have to try their rice pudding. It is an experience in itself. The prices make it a place you can go often. Great addition to the neighborhood! read more

Visited this place since it's local to me, but I should've read the reviews first. Like others have said already, the food was salty and the service was salty to match. Their outdoor dining space and furniture are in rough shape and less than inviting. And to top off the experience they slip in a 20% gratuity into the check for a small table. Their self-assessment of the services they provided did not align with their customer's experience. Very presumptuous of them. Steering clear of this place moving forward. read more

We had an amazing takeout experience here tonight. Caesar salad, chilled corn soup, croque monsieur, and bucatini were all excellent! Would have loved to mop up the pesto with some French bread but all in due time. Can't wait to sit at their beautiful bar and enjoy some bubbles when they open for inside dining. read more

Welcome to the neighborhood! We really enjoyed our take-out tonight! The veloute de mais was exceptional, order was ready within 20 minutes, and my husband loved the sea bass. We will definitely be back for more and hope the duck confit makes the Arlington menu soon! read more

Definitely not the place to come if you're looking to enjoy time with family or friends, they want people in and out quickly and to not enjoy the experience, just want your money and be gone. Been coming here for little while, and was super disappointed with my visit recently. I was excited to bring new friends who had never been before, made a reservation(we were a few minutes late!), but we were booted from our table before we even got to eat our dessert. They said there was another reservation and we need to move and could finish our drinks at the bar (there were no bar seats available at this time), my friend suggested maybe they offer us a glass of wine on the house for kicking us off our table to which the manager just laughed. Spent $500 on dinner, just to get asked to leave our table. Unfortunately service like this, I will no longer be returning which is sad because the food is pretty yummy! But for that price, you expect MUCH better service and friendlier management read more

I had a negative experience here this week. I dropped my scarf and came back 10 minutes later to reclaim it. I was told by the wait staff that they had not seen it and advised to check the bathroom. While I was in the bathroom the scarf somehow showed up in the floor of the entrance doorway, the same doorway I had walked through just a minute earlier on my way in. I emailed the restaurant about what happened and received no response. My expectation when I dine at a high end restaurant is to be treated like a guest in your home. If I have concerns about something that happened while I was in your home, my concerns should at least be addressed and not ignored. This shows that you do not care about your patrons. read more

I must say, I didn't have a good experience at all at this restaurant. I ordered a burger and fries and found the burger salty, tasteless and left most of it on the plate. The entire meal was also excessively overpriced. While the ambiance is cute, I will not be coming back again. read more

We had an amazing dinner here last night - this is a neighborhood gem! Steak frites was perfect - this is a *real* steak, ladies and gentlemen (not some skinny hangar steak!) Fries were crispy & salty, and the bearnaise was tangy and delicious. The gnocchi was also incredible - the scent as it was delivered was absolutely intoxicating. Bartender steered us the right way on the wines (would never have chosen a muscadet without him, but it was solid - minerally & dry!) and the Beaujolais (playful!) paired well with the steak. I keep clicking for a 6th or 7th star, but this damned website doesn't support my freedom of expression. Parc de Ville turned trips to Mosaic Target into something to look forward to with anticipation and to dress up for a little. We were there a while back and the bartender mentioned that the owners were planning to open a new location in Arlington. We were thrilled -- when we found out that it was going to be at Lee Heights, we were ecstatic. Cafe Colline has not disappointed. I can see the shops from my house (in the winter after the leaves have fallen). The walk from their kitchen to my table is only a little longer than the walk from my own kitchen to my table. You will see me skittering across Lee and Old Dominion with a box of carryout to my anxiously anticipating family. Months of pressing my nose to the glass looking for signs of construction progress have been well-rewarded. Don't be discouraged by the petite menu, it is densely luxuriant with culinary joy. Loup de Mer is perfection -- even as carryout. Frisee salad -- deserves its own Michelin star. and...Veloute de Potiron -- when our street was torn up for construction (non-stop for the past three years) I wish I had thought to install a pipeline from the restaurant to my house just for this pumpkin soup. One day the pandemic will be over and we'll all be returning to restaurants to sit and chat and dine and enjoy. Please come here -- but know this -- the little two-top table by the window is mine. I plan to grow old there -- old, plump, and little tipsy from the drink craft of my new favorite bartender. read more

Perfect spot for brunch on a rainy Saturday! Cozy atmosphere and friendly neighborhood vibe. Food and service were both excellent. Started with a Bloody Mary (very horseradishy); hubby had a good Mimosa. The omelette with herbs & Gruyère was so tasty and has almost crepe-like texture; frites were crispy & well seasoned. Finished off with Chocolate Hazelnut pot de crème topped with crushed hazelnuts and chocolate cookie crumbles. Mmmmm, sooo yummy! We came here last night and loved it. The restaurant is lovely and very cozy. We ordered the leeks, escargots, boudin blanc and steak - everything was delicious and I'll definitely order them again the next time we go. The lentils that came with the boudin blanc could have been a dish by themselves - they were very flavorful and paired perfectly with the sausage. The wine list was also great. Cafe Colline is an awesome addition to Arlington - I recommend going ASAP before the secret is out about this place! read more

Café Colline was absolutely delicious! I got the sea bass and it was probably the best sea bass I have ever had. My husband got the burger and was raving about it! We shared the duck egg appetizer and again, so good! This is such a great spot! Service was great as was the atmosphere. We will definitely be back! read more

Had dinner there last night with my wife and friends. The food was enjoyable - wine, beer, soup, salad, mussels, fish, dessert. However, we were unanimously disappointed by a member of the wait staff - possibly a manager - who was very abrupt with us. We were enjoying our pre-meal cocktails, chatting, when she came over to our table and sharply announced that she was "here to take our orders now!". We were a bit flustered but quickly made our choices. Not a scintilla of warmth from her throughout the evening. We joked that maybe she was trying to channel how she thought a Parisian server should behave? Or possibly the mandatory 20% wait staff gratuity automatically added to the bill made her think she didn't need to be nice to us? Maybe she was having a bad day? Too many better choices in the DMV so we are not running back any time soon. BTW - We love Chez Billy Sud, the partner restaurant in Georgetown. The service there is always impeccable. read more

Do not mistake Cafe Colline for being a European style restaurant. Instead of slow and long, the tables turn over every 90 minutes Something we did not know. We were assuming we would have a nice long and relaxing meal being our first inside restaurant experience in a year of Covid. Not knowing the dining time limit, we made the mistake of ordering 3 courses and had to take our dessert (2 creme brulees) home in containers. While eating that 3rd course, we also ordered a pot of french press coffee and just moments after we plunged & poured our first cups of coffee, the server informed us we had 10 minutes to relinquish the table. Seeing that our desserts were barely eaten the server returned with containers to "finish them later." Despite the excellent meal, we will never return to this fast paced cafe. Take out or one course only, would be my suggestion. There are too many other fabulous restaurants with options to indulge in multi-courses and relaxing conversation - Cafe Colline is definitely not that kind of restaurant experience. read more
