    Belgium Dark Chocolate Mousse
    Maria L.

My friend and I were leaving the hospital and needed a bite! This was such a cute spot with good food and helpful service. My friend and I split a croque madame. To our surprise, they were thoughtful and brought our meal out on separate plates. It was came with a salad and egg. We had to try a dessert and settled on the chocolate mousse! Yummmmmm. I want to go back and try more!

An excellent French/Belgian bistro hidden away in the Palisades! I've been in this area a thousand times but never stumbled upon this place until now. Here's what we tried on our first visit: Eggs Meurette: poached eggs with bacon, roasted mushrooms, caramelized onions, and a red wine sauce on English muffin, served with a really fresh and perfectly dressed simple green salad. Croque Madame: Gruyère griddled open face sandwich with ham and a fried egg and Bechemal again served with a salad Fried egg sandwich with bacon Gruyère and caramelized onion. My toddler wolfed half down. Comes with a salad. Scrambled eggs with ham/spinach. Comes with a salad. Lovely outdoor patio but also a sizable and nice and surprisingly large interior. The service was quite friendly and attentive. They were so kind to my grumpy toddler who wasn't the most appropriately dressed after soccer class. We will definitely be back to try the onion soup, tartars, steak frites, and mussels!

Loved our experience here - started with two very chic dirty martinis, delicious, and a French onion soup + Caesar salad. The dressing on the Caesar was amazing (thank you to our waitress (I think her name was Marlena? We loved her!) for recommending!). We had the steak and mussels for dinner, the peppercorn sauce was incredible. Fries were excellent, also just the service making sure we had all the sauces and plates we needed it felt very above & beyond! The mussels were not our cup of tea but didn't affect our overall experience. Had a glass of the Cabernet franc with dinner, amazing, and then topped off the evening with the Yule log dessert! They had live music for most of the night as well which was lovely.

Despite being asked if I had a reservation I did I was unable to be sat. With two young kids! On Mother's Day weekend. Very unfortunate I cannot try the food nor be accommodated very disappointed and wasted time!!!

On a warm summer afternoon, I ambled over to Et Voila for lunch around 11:45am. By the time noon rolled around, the place was packed! This must be the place to be. And when the food arrived, I knew why - authentic Belgian dishes (and beer). I got the beet salad - fresh, firm beets with tart grapefruit and soft goat cheese, very subtle. Then the salmon tartare, also mild, but the salmon eggs added the briny taste of the sea. Add the very friendly service staff, and you have a great lunch on the outskirts of DC. If you're looking for a Belgian meal, give Et Voila a try!

This place is becoming our go-to place. My husband and I came to this place to have lunch. We loved it. The place was packed with so many people even Friday afternoon. First I had Et Voila!" Burger. A burger was nicely cooked as a medium which I asked for. The portion was pretty huge. It came with a green salad and fried. Also, we had Alex's cake. We loved Dark and Milk Chocolate Mousse. It was not too sweet. The texture of the mousse was soft. I highly recommended this dessert. The second time I came with my family, As a drink: I had Raspberry Bellini. I loved it. It was very refreshing. I had Moules Diable - Mussels Cooked with Tomatoes, Shallots & Lobster Bisque. The mussels were nicely cooked and not bitter. I really enjoyed lobster bisque. My husband had a French Onion Soup. - The soup was seasoned perfectly. As for dessert: Profiteroles: I couldn't stop eating the chocolate sauce. ET VOILA CHOCOLATE SUNDAE: The portion was huge. This was my least favorite. I guess I was too full to enjoy. This is a very cute and delicious neighborhood restaurant.

Another exquisite dinner at Et Voila with friends visiting. Every dish was expertly prepared and so delicious. I can understand why Et Voila is so highly regarded - every time we have dined there has been a top notch experience.

It has a well-deserved top notch reputation. Given the restaurant likely seeks opportunities for improvement, the following details are offered..... 1) Hard seats, though padded, became uncomfortable over time. By the end of our two - hour seating, we were more than eager to get up and go. An unnecessary distraction. We'll bring our own set cushion next time. 2) Water glasses smelled off. It's not the water as the odor remained in glasses used for bottled water. Based on experience, we guessed a dirty dishwasher was to blame. 3) A pesky fly was with us the entire meal. Perhaps it was more than one fly, yet it was surprising for indoor seating. A minor distraction, but surprising. We'll be back.

The Brasserie, though less formal, is equally as fine and equally as tasty. Plus, you have the option of sitting outside either on the patio or in the inside/outside covered area.  Wherever you sit, you will be happy and very well fed.  The evening we dined, we tried to hold back from eating too much of the super yummy garlic toast and cottage cheese that is always brought to the table at the start of your meal.  It is super good and so tempting to keep on munching but there is so much other good food on the way.  The Caesar salad is crisp and the portion is big enough to share if you are guarding room for the amazing grand marnier souffle which you order at the start of you repas to savor at the end.  My favorite entrée is always the bouillabaisse.  The broth is so amazing and it is filled with seafood. Another favorite is the duck (confit de canard) that is a special on Sunday. Again, save some space for the souffle which is served tableside and worth every calorie.

The service we received from her was by far the best service I have received in a very long time here in the DMV. I actually stopped dining out as much as I used to because service has declined over the past few years sadly to say. She was patient, made suggestions on some tasty meals but most importantly, had a great personality that you can tell is authentic & genuine which made a simple girls brunch that much more memorable. Now as the food.....I'll just say this, DELICIOUS! My friends and I shared different items on the menu for brunch from hors d'oeuvres to main course down to dessert. When I say EVERYTHING was super tasty I seriously mean it. We had the mussels, pasta, sea bass, and more in which the chef made each platter with a unique twist for each. All this to say is you must try this cafe. I had to write this review because it truly deserves a 5+ star for its meals/drinks, ambiance but to me most importantly the service. If you are lucky enough to have Bailey, I promise she won't disappoint you. Thank you for the wonderful experience and food

The location has plenty of parking available with very kind and welcoming staff. Our party was quickly seated and greeted by our waiter. For starters, we had the Salad Maison and the La Cachat, which was very appetizing. My friend had the Potato Crusted Salmon, which was my favorite dish that we ordered. It was cooked and flavored perfectly for my taste buds. Another dish that a guest from our party had was sea bass (Loup De Mar), which I also enjoyed. This dish also was big in portion size. My dish was the Steak Frites which was cooked medium, however, it wasn't as juicy or flavorful as I desired. I also took the opportunity to try the Ridoir which was strong yet tasty. Overall, we had a great experience.

Dispelling the myth that French cuisine is pretentious, we felt like we were in a home, and that we would be fed full to the brim. Came in while it was packed late into the night. We were sat immediately and had a wonderful time. Our waitresses were patient and had great recommendations for our first time trying French food. They seem incredibly experienced and added comfort in the way they spoke to their customers and ran their tables. We were even greeted by the owner who was great and cheery to each table he visited. The one night we went, it was incredibly packed with people having intimate, lighthearted, and laughter-filled gatherings, tables with multiple rounds of wine, everyone sharing their fries, and so he should feel proud of this place. Touches like this made it as though we were dining in someone's house. And I love that they start you off generously with bread and butter. Its a type of french loaf that is nice and fluffy, and I'd recommend setting some on the side if you're ordering a brothy dish. We ordered Moules Marinières, which came in a delightfully large cauldron of juicy plump clean muscles swimming in an herbaceous-garlicky white wine sauce. Unassumable from the simplicity of ingredients they threw together, but incredibly complex in flavor. This is one of the few times I actually tasted bay leaf, and amongst the fewer times I found the use of rosemary not be so overpowering. The mussel liquor at the bottom was perfect when soaked up in bread. What an incredible dish. We also tried a classic, Le Steak Maison, which was also distinctively flavorful. Our steak had a perfect cook at medium rare, and was uniquely seasoned with some sort of blend of herbes de provence. The fries were pretty standard and substantial, but paired with the Béarnaise sauce, it was such a tangy play of richness and acidity. Again really simple ingredients just executed so well. Great job, looking forward to coming again to try more on this large menu.

We were sat in the solarium area, and it was during the heat dome, and it was really warm in there. Otherwise, though, it's completely charming inside and reminds us of some of the best French bistros we've been to in the country (e.g. Balzathar, Le Supreme). The three cocktails we tried--the frose, le jardin, and the clouseau--were all stunners. And of course the bread deserves another special mention, *especially* the room temperature butter. Thank you for not serving hard as hell butter! We shared the warm shrimp salad to start, and for $31, we were expecting more than a few avocado slices and 4 shrimp on it, but c'est la vie. The dressing was incredible, and the greens were crunchy. That's actually the only dish of the night that we thought was unfairly overpriced. One of us ordered the burger and the other got the rabbit pappardelle--you've got to get rabbit when you see it on a menu, which isn't often enough! There was a good amount of super tender meat and the pasta was perfectly al dente, all in a lightly stunning sauce. Chef's kiss. The burger was, no surprise, another triumph. There was juicy meat, bun integrity, and all the right accouterment notes. The fries are standard. Our daughter got their mac-n-cheese, which is probably just the gratin dish renamed. It was OK. We kind of got out of control for dessert and ordered the pot de creme, the cookie dough ice cream, and the profiteroles. Honestly, these were all good, but nothing that stood out as exemplary as with the savory stuff. Our only major complaint was the service. It was really spotty and while there was a very, very long gap in between when we got our water and then put in our drinks, but our mains came out almost directly after the salad. And the guy was just not very hospitable. Not necessarily a "bad" experience...it just could have been a lot better. Four stars, and we have already declared that we will be back again to "The Dip" because there is so much else on the menu that we want to try.

I would recommend a reservation because with rain outside aka the patio being closed, the whole inside was packed. A lot of the seats are super close which feels very European but you can hear most peoples conversations which can be annoying. Our waitress was really sweet and stopped by a bunch. We started with French 75's, hot coffee, and an espresso martini. The drinks were refreshing and quite large for the price. The espresso martini really reminded me of a grown up hot chocolate, I really enjoyed it. I later also got a cucumber vodka martini and it was one of the most refreshing drinks I've ever had - definitely the drink of the summer. For our food we started with the baked brie with fig and garlic and the escargot. The brie was a unique take on baked brie, I loved the way the flavors all melded and the fact the cheese wasn't completely spilling out everywhere. The escargot was soft with a phenomenal crumb/butter mix, the whole things really melded well and melted in your mouth. The bread served with it was nice as well, if only I had a bit more of it. For our mains we were here during brunch so we got the lobster omelet and the French onion soup with the side of fries. The french onion soup was great, a good amount of cheese and onions without being overwhelming. Fries were fantastic and quite large, a big portion for $7. They hooked it up with the amount of lobster. I would definitely come back to try their lunch tasting menu or other brunch items as well!
