We got the afternoon tea set with lychee thai tea and a pumpkin thai tea. The afternoon tea set came with a good combination of both savory and sweet treats as well as a non-alcoholic drink of our choice. We loved the chive pancake and curry puff. They also had some interesting twists on food including an egg tart with pork floss, which was a great sweet and savory combo. The set was enough to fill us up as a full meal. I would highly recommend this to anyone who loves high tea but wants to try it with a new cultural twist.
Came on a Saturday late afternoon and there was plenty of seating, no reservation required. The ambiance is really nice too. I would totally come here again for group gatherings. They also have backyard seating area as well. They have this afternoon tea set that's $38. It comes with a variety of savory and sweet items. The chive pancakes were tasty and everybody enjoyed it the most, as well as the pork floss egg tart. Some other items weren't as tasty. I'm glad to have tried it, but won't be ordering it again. The pad see ew was delicious! It had good "wok hei" and noodles were slippery. I would come back for this dish. And I'd like to try their other entrees as well. Staff was super nice and accommodating.
We came here for lunch on a Monday and it was empty, so I suppose they also turned the AC off. We were sweating and fanning ourselves with the menu, but it cooled down a tad. (I assume they decided to turn it on when they saw us). Anyways, they do offer some lunch specials, which were a good deal. For $14-16 each, you get an entree with a soup or salad. I opted for the soup while everyone else had the salad. Even though it was a hot day, I am a soup lover and the spice from this was delicious for a tom yum soup. Everyone also really enjoyed the peanut dressing for the salad. For my entree, I had a Pad See Ew while everyone got a Royal Fried Rice. The price ranges depending on your protein choice here. I also had to ask for hot sauce condiments, which they brought out separately. It's a decent spot, but there's too many other great Thai spots around.

Cafe Chili has been a staple in Carrol Gardens for some time. I have dined here in the past and can't believe I haven't reviewed... Well.. stopping in post movie Christmas dinner seemed appropriate. The space is rustic with exposed brick wall, warm lighting and cushy seating. Cafe Chili offers an extensive menu offering varieties of soups, salad, traditional appetizers and entrees. My friend and I opted for our usuals: 1. Appetizers: Coconut Shrimp: four pieces of battered shrimp served with julienne carrots and sweet chili sauce on the side. Scrumptious! 2. Entrees: Alisa has Pad Thai with Shrimp, generous portion of shrimp and enjoyed it immensely I had Pad se Ew with Chicken; broad noodles, spinach and generous portion of chicken. Both entrees were plentiful and we both took home leftovers. 3. Beverage: I was happy to see Thai Milk Tra with Boba; which was delicious Too full for dessert but we did see a $38 Afternoon Tea menu that offered Pecan Pie and Eclairs, looked promising. Lovely spot run by this sweet couple who have been running this business for two decades! Gorgeous back patio area. Perfect for a co-working lunch. I even took calls here because the patio was empty on a Monday afternoon other than my friend and I. We experienced such fantastic service, and I felt welcomed as if I was eating lunch at someone's house. The pad see ew was one of the best I've had in a long time. Slight char on the noodle and chinese broccoli makes such a difference. The chive pancakes were divine and I still think about it, and they are vegan. They have an afternoon tea tasting menu that we did not try, but looked beautiful in the plating and details. Don't miss out on this gem.

Located right in Downtown Brooklyn, you will find the only place that serves Thai-style afternoon tea. If you don't consume pork, they will happily accommodate you and provide you with a vegetarian-friendly spread. Immediately upon arrival, I was greeted warmly and there were a few tables open on a busy Saturday afternoon. I decided to order the afternoon tea but found that many items contained pork. However, when I explained to them that I don't eat pork, they gladly, without any hesitation, made accommodations for me. I was happy to receive a spread with gorgeous sweet treats and creatively made veggie items such as a spring rolls and scallion pancakes. The Thai tea was perfect! I also have a dairy intolerance. But I was able to consume the tea because there wasn't any dairy products in it. It wasn't too sweet. But if you know that it has a lot of caffeine then you know it was just right. My visit was timed perfectly and I was able to stay to have dinner. I ordered the beef pad see ew, crab fried rice, basil red snapper, and half duck. I was very pleased with the presentation of every thing. However, I wasn't a big fan of the half duck smothered in the sauce... I felt like the duck was a bit dry and so it wasn't as delightful as I thought it would have been. Oh, and the lychee martini was excellent BTW! Despite the one dish, I really loved this place. I am recommending it to everyone I know.
I came here for the afternoon tea but I do not recommend! I think it was a 3/5 but I really liked the service so bumping it to 4/5 Food: we came here for afternoon tea which after tax and tip comes up to $50 per person! In the tea you get your choice of Thai tea or a tea bag. I got the Thai tea - which was very sweet and was a bit too much with a primarily sweet meal! The way the afternoon tea works is that the chef decides what you get. Most of the items are sweet! My favorite was the chive pancake! Everything else was good but nothing too special. I did love the presentation of everything and was pretty full after (i couldn't finish it)! I think this is decent especially for the price but I think I prefer more tradition afternoon teas Service: great service! Cafe Chili goes back--kind of way back and it used to be a go to Thai spot for me and my family/friends. Fast forward to present day. The restaurant stands in the same place---inviting and with attractive decor. While I ordered for delivery a few times in the last several years, I recently took the opportunity to dine in. A sign outside noted happy hour food and drinks until 7. The server was courteous to extend the offer even though it was 7:09 when we settled. The air temperature was cold inside which was uncomfortable considering it was very cold outside. We started with an appetizer known as Pretty Package which were Steamed Chicken and Shrimp dumplings. They were quite good and 5 pieces to an order. For main we chose Chicken with Cashews and Chicken with Ginger (my choice). I asked for less salt since I typically don't like dark brown salty gravy. I ordered a Jasmine tea to accompany my meal. Service was somewhat lackluster which was surprising since there weren't many patrons. Food arrived a short while later. My opinion was satisfactory. It was pretty good and I enjoyed it Overall, Cafe Chili will satisfy your Thai craving but doesn't measure up to other high quality NYC restaurants cited in various articles. In the past, I liked their Pad Thai and some other selections but many dishes include duck and pork which I do not eat. Good to try if in the area and out of ideas where to dine.
Came on a New Year's Eve and the restaurant was relatively quiet for lunch. There was one server working at that time and I think there were others helping out in the kitchen. Menu was extensive but it wasn't overwhelming really just a front and back page. There were some interesting looking specials that I got which was the Andaman noodles and a curry. We originally ordered the shrimp and pineapple curry but i think the server misheard and brought out a duck and pineapple curry for us instead. They were friendly enough to offer to take it back to the kitchen to correct it for us, however we didn't want to waste any more time so we just took the duck and pineapple curry instead. The noodles were very very flavorful. A lot of seafood in it and just the right amount of spice. The pineapple duck Curry was also pretty good, I kind of wish that the bowl of rice was a little bit bigger since we finished the rice quicker than the curry. When it came to dessert, this was where I was a little disappointed because because there were two desserts that I wanted, however I was told that anything with mango wasn't available and they really only had ice cream left for dessert. Other than that, bathrooms are pretty nice Ambience was pretty nice and there looks like there is a really cute patio in the back for warmer days.

My friend and I came to dine around 3:30 p.m. We were greeted warmly by Ms Jet. We ordered Fried Calamari which is a must. Calamari fried perfect with Thai chili sauce. Papaya salad just enough to brak a sweat. Well made. Fried rice with shrimp with salmon added. Well seasoned and cooked and packed a lot of flavor and just enough. Basil chicken over rice topped with a Fried egg. Made perfectly and flavored perfectly. Service and food was and is always ON POINT. read more

Came in for a solo dinner date after being in the area. Ordered myself a cold sake, I like that they had a larger and smaller size. Obviously I went with the larger size haha. For dinner I ordered Vegetable Pad Thai. It was good, lots of green vegetables and a good handful of peanuts. wasn't the best Pad Thai I've had but I thought it was very good. I decided on a whim to order dessert and went with a green tea ice cream. Sadly, even though it is in the middle of winter, the ice cream came out melted so I would skip that next time. read more

This hidden gem in cobble is a must visit. We ordered bunch of items and all of them had its own uniqueness to it. I was surprised how delicious the foods were! I liked the food here more than Joya's. We ordered to share: 1) Thai ice tea, 2) Calamari, 3) Drunken noodles w/ shrimp, 4) Fried snapper w/ side of tamarind sipping sauce. The thai ice tea was good, on the sweet side. The calamari was nicely seasoned and tasty, not oily. I highly recommend their drunken noodles w/ shrimp. WOW! I was surprised how delicious it was. I haven't eaten a good drunken noodle for a while. It was well seasoned, savory, and the shrimp was cooked the right way (it was al dente, not soggy). The fried snapper was well seasoned and crispy. We didn't like the tamarind sauce, but they were nice to give us another sweet chili sauce which we preferred more. Staff was very friendly and attentive. The ambiance of the restaurant was warm and comfortable. The people working there were attentive and friendly. Unfortunately, that is all the positive things we have for our visit. Our order consisted of: 1) the 4 Course Prix Fixe, which included: -house salad (a few pieces of lettuce, shredded carrot, half a slice of tomato, one piece cucumber with peanut dressing), -mix appetizer (one spring roll, one shuimai, and two money bag), -entree: I selected the mock duck druken noodle, -dessert: Go banana 2) sautéed salmon with garlic sauce. Both entrees were an epic fail! Druken noodle is all about the "wok hay" and spiciness, which was nonexistent. The flat rice noodles were far from fresh and tasted like it stayed beyond its time. The mocked duck (wheat gluten) was bland and lacked flavor. The sautéed salmon with the lacklustered garlic sauce was just a waste because it was over cooked and dry. The dish came out luke warm at best and each bite was forceful because I didn't want to waste food. I gave it a three star because of the attentiveness and friendliness of the staff. Came in for dinner this evening and completely fell in love with this place. The ambience was very casual, elegant and extremely tasty dishes. For appetizers we got Thai wings as well as pot stickers which were pretty tasty and for meals green curry which was really good and a bit on the spicy side and Thai short ribs which literally melted in your mouth. Quaint place with backyard seating, although my friends and I sat indoors since it got chilly at night. Food was sizable and filling, but depending on which dish you order it could be amazing or a bit too sweet for the palate. I ordered seafood Tom yum noodle soup and it was more on the sweet side than sour, so threw me off a bit but still good. My friend who ordered chicken pad Thai also said the dish was a bit on the sweet side, but still enjoyed it nonetheless. The flavors are outrageous, a little bit salty, a little bit sweet. The egg tart and scallion pancakes were our favorites, as well as the pumpkin Thai tea! We came to Cafe Chili for dinner and had such a great experience from start to finish! We ordered the coconut shrimp and the corn fritters for our starters. Both were really flavorful but the corn fritters were my favorite. I could eat two orders by myself. For our entrées, we had the pork chop and the green curry with the crispy duck. Both portions were really generous. We both took our leftovers with us. Even though you'll be stuffed, don't skip out on dessert. Recently moved to Carroll Gardens and when we saw a Thai place so close by, we had to try it! We've tried a handful a Thai restaurants in Brooklyn and Manhattan but haven't found one we really enjoyed... until now!! This place is DELICIOUS with fair pricing, lunch specials and coupons/deals (on yelp and in the mail). They have outdoor seating that's fairly distanced in the front of their store on the side walk, or a gorgeous and spacious outdoor backyard that makes you forget you're in NYC. We ordered: Red Curry with Veggies Drunken Noodles with Tofu Pad Thai with Chicken All three meals were really flavorful and saucy in such different ways. I would get any of these dishes again but would also love to try other meals there. Their tofu was delicious! And the chicken was decent, not as dry as other thai places. As someone who loves Thai food, I really don't get the poor reviews for this place. Yes there are better Thai spots but the prices here are reasonable and the service is nice. They have a nice lunch special consisting of a choice of soups or a salad along with a main dish. Their tom yum (which for some reason is listed as chicken lemongrass soup) from said lunch special is quite good with some pieces of meaty chicken and some mushrooms. My preference for their main dish on the lunch special is the workingman's noodles. For an entrée, I've gotten the same as well as the road duck panang which was tasty. I prefer the spot heavily over Lemongrass nearby though I think this is because the service at the other spot feels very surly and I found the noodles better here. read more
I came here with my colleague on a Wednesday afternoon for lunch. There was only 1 other table eating inside. There was only one server, possibly the owner. She was attentive enough during our entire lunch. Food, we ordered 2 appetizers, 2 entrees and 2 cocktails. Appetizers we ordered the calamari and puff pockets. Neither was that special, the calamari could've been crisper. Entrees we ordered the drunken noodles and one of their lunch boxes. Drunken noodles had some char, meaning they had enough "wok hei". Cocktails we ordered the Thai Colada and the flamingo paradise. Both drinks had very low alcohol content. Overall, it was an okay experience but I have definitely had better thai food elsewhere. read more

I recently came to Cafe Chili for a private holiday dinner. The staff here are absolutely phenomenal! They were extremely accommodating of our group of 40+ people, which is not easy to manage for a group of hungry folks. Cafe Chili is small and intimate. Perfect for a date night or small private gathering. We were given plenty of food items to choose from the buffet. Some of my favorites were the shrimp pad Thai and spring rolls. Host: Beers are $3 all day. Me: Then we'll be here all day! Honestly, they roped me in with that deal on their sandwich board outside. This place has been around forever, but I've somehow never been or ordered from them. This area just has SO many Thai options. Well, add Cafe Chili to the good list! Was here in the afternoon, so was able to take advantage of the lunch specials. You can get a soup or salad, and a noodle or rice dish for anywhere from $8.95 to $12.95 (depending on your protein). What a deal! I got the chicken lemongrass soup (delicious and fully loaded) with the Workingman's Noodles (stir fried with bok choy, egg, and I chose chicken). Also piping hot and delicious. I had to explain the concept of wok hay to my Caucasian friend (for reference: https://guide.michelin.com/en/article/dining-out/what-is-wok-hei) and I can tell you, they produce it in spades. Of course, we had a couple of rounds of $3 Singha's (best deal in town!) and just killed some time on a lazy afternoon. By the time we were done, we were the only ones left. Staff is ultra friendly. Inside is nice and air conditioned. They also have a really nice backyard. And they're taking safety precautions very seriously! They take your temperature and information down for contact tracing. read more

Absolutely loved this place! It has such a great lunch special that includes an entree and appetizer for less than 10 dollars! The flavors are authentic and the portion is decent. One more plus is that they do very good and thorough covid checks so that gave me more comforts when dining indoor. Also, one big spoiler is that it always have surging cash back from Seated and even for a lunch deal, I am able to get like 20-40% cash back depending on the day! Such a great steal with a great taste! Of course, the location is very convenient and accessible and staffs are really friendly and nice as well! Would come back again and again and again! read more
