We got the afternoon tea set with lychee thai tea and a pumpkin thai tea. The afternoon tea set came with a good combination of both savory and sweet treats as well as a non-alcoholic drink of our choice. We loved the chive pancake and curry puff. They also had some interesting twists on food including an egg tart with pork floss, which was a great sweet and savory combo. The set was enough to fill us up as a full meal. I would highly recommend this to anyone who loves high tea but wants to try it with a new cultural twist.
Came on a Saturday late afternoon and there was plenty of seating, no reservation required. The ambiance is really nice too. I would totally come here again for group gatherings. They also have backyard seating area as well. They have this afternoon tea set that's $38. It comes with a variety of savory and sweet items. The chive pancakes were tasty and everybody enjoyed it the most, as well as the pork floss egg tart. Some other items weren't as tasty. I'm glad to have tried it, but won't be ordering it again. The pad see ew was delicious! It had good "wok hei" and noodles were slippery. I would come back for this dish. And I'd like to try their other entrees as well. Staff was super nice and accommodating.
We came here for lunch on a Monday and it was empty, so I suppose they also turned the AC off. We were sweating and fanning ourselves with the menu, but it cooled down a tad. (I assume they decided to turn it on when they saw us). Anyways, they do offer some lunch specials, which were a good deal. For $14-16 each, you get an entree with a soup or salad. I opted for the soup while everyone else had the salad. Even though it was a hot day, I am a soup lover and the spice from this was delicious for a tom yum soup. Everyone also really enjoyed the peanut dressing for the salad. For my entree, I had a Pad See Ew while everyone got a Royal Fried Rice. The price ranges depending on your protein choice here. I also had to ask for hot sauce condiments, which they brought out separately. It's a decent spot, but there's too many other great Thai spots around.

Cafe Chili has been a staple in Carrol Gardens for some time. I have dined here in the past and can't believe I haven't reviewed... Well.. stopping in post movie Christmas dinner seemed appropriate. The space is rustic with exposed brick wall, warm lighting and cushy seating. Cafe Chili offers an extensive menu offering varieties of soups, salad, traditional appetizers and entrees. My friend and I opted for our usuals: 1. Appetizers: Coconut Shrimp: four pieces of battered shrimp served with julienne carrots and sweet chili sauce on the side. Scrumptious! 2. Entrees: Alisa has Pad Thai with Shrimp, generous portion of shrimp and enjoyed it immensely I had Pad se Ew with Chicken; broad noodles, spinach and generous portion of chicken. Both entrees were plentiful and we both took home leftovers. 3. Beverage: I was happy to see Thai Milk Tra with Boba; which was delicious Too full for dessert but we did see a $38 Afternoon Tea menu that offered Pecan Pie and Eclairs, looked promising. The service was friendly and warm. I highly recommend this restaurant. Cafe Chili is located on 172 Court Street Take R train to Court and walk @10 minutes
Lovely spot run by this sweet couple who have been running this business for two decades! Gorgeous back patio area. Perfect for a co-working lunch. I even took calls here because the patio was empty on a Monday afternoon other than my friend and I. We experienced such fantastic service, and I felt welcomed as if I was eating lunch at someone's house. The pad see ew was one of the best I've had in a long time. Slight char on the noodle and chinese broccoli makes such a difference. The chive pancakes were divine and I still think about it, and they are vegan. They have an afternoon tea tasting menu that we did not try, but looked beautiful in the plating and details. Don't miss out on this gem.

Located right in Downtown Brooklyn, you will find the only place that serves Thai-style afternoon tea. If you don't consume pork, they will happily accommodate you and provide you with a vegetarian-friendly spread. Immediately upon arrival, I was greeted warmly and there were a few tables open on a busy Saturday afternoon. I decided to order the afternoon tea but found that many items contained pork. However, when I explained to them that I don't eat pork, they gladly, without any hesitation, made accommodations for me. I was happy to receive a spread with gorgeous sweet treats and creatively made veggie items such as a spring rolls and scallion pancakes. The Thai tea was perfect! I also have a dairy intolerance. But I was able to consume the tea because there wasn't any dairy products in it. It wasn't too sweet. But if you know that it has a lot of caffeine then you know it was just right. My visit was timed perfectly and I was able to stay to have dinner. I ordered the beef pad see ew, crab fried rice, basil red snapper, and half duck. I was very pleased with the presentation of every thing. However, I wasn't a big fan of the half duck smothered in the sauce... I felt like the duck was a bit dry and so it wasn't as delightful as I thought it would have been. Oh, and the lychee martini was excellent BTW! Despite the one dish, I really loved this place. I am recommending it to everyone I know.
I came here for the afternoon tea but I do not recommend! I think it was a 3/5 but I really liked the service so bumping it to 4/5 Food: we came here for afternoon tea which after tax and tip comes up to $50 per person! In the tea you get your choice of Thai tea or a tea bag. I got the Thai tea - which was very sweet and was a bit too much with a primarily sweet meal! The way the afternoon tea works is that the chef decides what you get. Most of the items are sweet! My favorite was the chive pancake! Everything else was good but nothing too special. I did love the presentation of everything and was pretty full after (i couldn't finish it)! I think this is decent especially for the price but I think I prefer more tradition afternoon teas Service: great service! Cafe Chili goes back--kind of way back and it used to be a go to Thai spot for me and my family/friends. Fast forward to present day. The restaurant stands in the same place---inviting and with attractive decor. While I ordered for delivery a few times in the last several years, I recently took the opportunity to dine in. A sign outside noted happy hour food and drinks until 7. The server was courteous to extend the offer even though it was 7:09 when we settled. The air temperature was cold inside which was uncomfortable considering it was very cold outside. We started with an appetizer known as Pretty Package which were Steamed Chicken and Shrimp dumplings. They were quite good and 5 pieces to an order. For main we chose Chicken with Cashews and Chicken with Ginger (my choice). I asked for less salt since I typically don't like dark brown salty gravy. I ordered a Jasmine tea to accompany my meal. Service was somewhat lackluster which was surprising since there weren't many patrons. Food arrived a short while later. My opinion was satisfactory. It was pretty good and I enjoyed it Overall, Cafe Chili will satisfy your Thai craving but doesn't measure up to other high quality NYC restaurants cited in various articles. In the past, I liked their Pad Thai and some other selections but many dishes include duck and pork which I do not eat. Good to try if in the area and out of ideas where to dine.
Came on a New Year's Eve and the restaurant was relatively quiet for lunch. There was one server working at that time and I think there were others helping out in the kitchen. Menu was extensive but it wasn't overwhelming really just a front and back page. There were some interesting looking specials that I got which was the Andaman noodles and a curry. We originally ordered the shrimp and pineapple curry but i think the server misheard and brought out a duck and pineapple curry for us instead. They were friendly enough to offer to take it back to the kitchen to correct it for us, however we didn't want to waste any more time so we just took the duck and pineapple curry instead. The noodles were very very flavorful. A lot of seafood in it and just the right amount of spice. The pineapple duck Curry was also pretty good, I kind of wish that the bowl of rice was a little bit bigger since we finished the rice quicker than the curry. When it came to dessert, this was where I was a little disappointed because because there were two desserts that I wanted, however I was told that anything with mango wasn't available and they really only had ice cream left for dessert. Other than that, bathrooms are pretty nice Ambience was pretty nice and there looks like there is a really cute patio in the back for warmer days.

Move over street side dining, I found my very own backyard oasis on Court Street! The OTHER Thai spot on Court was looking a bit too crowded for covid comfort so I came a bit further to check out Cafe Chili. Little did I know the GARDEN was open. I sat under the shade of their gorgeous tree and had a relaxing lunch to myself - steamed dumplings and the Pad See Ew entree with lots of chicken and egg and FLAVOR. The server brought a trio of sauces with my entree and said, "Be careful! They're spicy and I don't want you to hurt yourself." Bring it on, lady. Yum. Spicy and so delicious. read more

The chicken Satay Tray is amazing! I think the peanut sauce is the best I've ever had! So creamy and just delicious. The free spring rolls were so good and beautifully served. Another underwhelming Thai restaurant in our neighborhood, if it wasn't for some surprise complimentary Spring Rolls when you checked-in on Yelp, I would definitely give this place less than 3 Stars! Everything that we ordered here is just similar to any Thai restaurant on any NYC street corner. Nothing's wrong but nothing's too special either, if maybe slightly better elsewhere. This is a beautiful little restaurant with great Thai staples but I was especially impressed on a recent visit with my boyfriend's Basil Snapper dish. I mean...just look at that photo. In addition to the cool presentation, the fish had a flavorful and crispy crust that made me resent my (beloved) Pad See Ew. Go get this fish. read more

Stopped in here yesterday for a quick lunch break as I was in the area. The lunch special was greatly priced and delicious. I had the tofu pad Thai, salad, and a mango bubble tea. The atmosphere is pretty decent, clean and spacious with modern neutral decor. It's a great place for a solo lunch date (not too crowded) and they have a backyard seating area as well in the front. My waitress was pretty attentive even though she was managing a few tables and was gracious enough to bring me a bubble tea without whole milk in it after they brought me out one with whole milk. I will say though the bubble tea was extremely mediocre and watery. The bathroom was clean however it's didn't have a hook for my bag or coat and that proved to be challenging. Overall I do recommend this spot as it's a calm vibe, good food, and good prices for the lunch special. read more

Unfortunately flavorless and hardly edible for me. Had to douse in sriracha so I could eat the tom yum seafood noodle soup and not waste 17$. You're better off hitting up Boran a few blocks down if you're looking for good authentic Thai food. Looks like I posted a previous review...forgot I even came here before. Smh unfortunate to see quality deteriorate. Or maybe I didn't have tastebuds 2 years ago idk. read more

This is a nice place really calm and chill. The host was sweet too. I got the pad Thai with shrimp and some fried chicken. The pad Thai was pretty good not the best I ever had but it was top 10. The wings was ok it didn't hit like I thought it will. read more

The decor looked nice, but food portion was small and tastes bland. I got the tender duck breast noodle soup to go. It came with about two bites of duck breast, couple broccoli, and generic noodles. The broth was salty but not savory. Not satisfied with this takeout meal. Finished the meat and broccoli in soup but not eating the rest. In terms of price is about $15 all in which I think there are better options down the street. read more

This was a pleasant little surprise spot for a super quick lunch for me. I literally only had 30minutes for lunch and then had to run back to work. Well as soon as I walked in they sat me immediately and with a smile. I sat by their super fancy decorative booth. I thought it was an adorable decor choice in an otherwise small space that could easily lack style in decor. I was asked by the manager what I'd like to order , I told him..."This is a super quick lunch...literally only 30 minutes! So I'd like the spicy basil shrimp fried rice, duck salad, spring rolls and Thai iced tea. No lie folks that Food came out in about 7 minutes leaving me time to savor the food!!!! I was floored by the speed in service!!! Not only were they fast but the food was good too along with a great presentation!!!! Beautiful sitting area inside and backyard. Loved the garden in the backyard. Food was delicious. Usually don't write reviews, but had to drop by to give them thumps up. I feel terrible giving this place 3 stars because of the great service we received, and the fact that they ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS unlike Joya... but to be honest, their food was somewhat lacking behind the other big name places, namely Joya or Spice and Tue Thai for you West Villagers. I came here around noon on a holiday and the place was empty....which means empty garden and perfect place for a impromptu photoshoot :D My party all ordered the $20 prefixe special: salad AND soup, appetizer sampler (coconut shrimp, spring roll, and this amazing deep fried fritter - don't remember what was in it, but TASTY!), entree, and deep fried ice cream (**it's NOT tempura like, it's more like a donut type of breading). I usually complain about pad thai at Spice and most Thai places for being too saucey and sweet, almost dessert-like. However, this pad thai was dry and bland, to the point where I felt like I could taste the noodles... o_____0 Appetizers were the highlight of the meal in terms of both taste and presentation. However, I appreciate the presentation of all the dishes. Dessert was pretty, but I was disappointed that the ice cream came with thick breading rather than a crispy tempura batter. To those getting the pre-fixe --- prepared to be stuffed for the ENTIRE day. Good deal for $20, I guess? read more

After walking through DUMBO one day, we stumbled upon this small little hidden Thai restaurant in Cobble Hill that serves yummy Thai cuisine. The places offers a good variety of Thai cuisines with low prices, nice ambience and good service. It's probably a good option for Thai for the area and if your looking to grab a quick affordable bite! read more
