Service was better this time round, probably because it was 3 in the afternoon and I was one out of two people at the cafe but definitely a nice little study spot for late afternoons. It starts getting packed around 4:30-5 though. This time I got the duet again (less sweet, which is much better in my opinion) and shared a house special shaved ice and turkey avocado sandwich with my friend. The updated star is for the shaved ice, improved service, and nice ambiance. Shaved ice aka Korean Patbingsu was pretty good. The small size is good for two or three people, it's a pretty big portion (although they don't specify the price on the menu...strange...) it includes a scoop of vanilla ice cream, a variety of fruits including strawberry, kiwi, pears, peaches, grapes (the last three fruits are canned kinds though...but most patbingsu is made with fruit cocktail sadly...it's pretty gross to me) mochi, boba, red bean, and sweet rice powder. It's a pretty traditional setup and satisfying! I enjoyed it a lot. The sandwich is a no no no no...no. I'm not picky with my food so of course I still ate it, but it was basically like a sad knockoff subway sandwich. It seemed like it was premade and just taken out when ordered. The lettuce was soggy and there was so much mustard which my friend didn't like but I was fine with. But now I kind of understand why I couldn't find a picture of any sandwiches on yelp as reference. This place is so old-it had so many memories since I've been there since elementary school. Although I've always enjoyed the frozen yogurt here, ever since they changed owners of the shop long ago, I honestly never liked the vibe they gave here. The owner always seems to be talking behind other people's backs, as one time a customer came and she acted friendly when they were ordering, but then started snickering and whispering about that customer to her employees after they sat down. BLUF: A nice cafe to take a group to. Good coffee and tea selection with boba add on options. The almond milk tea was great. Boba Time is group friendly as there are a bunch of couches and chairs around coffee tables inside and a fire and couches outside. During the winter, they also have blankets for you to use and stay warm. Additionally, the outdoor patio is smoker friendly area, whether that's a plus or minus for you. They also have cards and games which is great for parties with little kids. You can either walk to the counter to order drinks and snacks or take a seat and a server will come to you. Be forwarded, if you do wait for a server, expect to be sitting for a solid ten minutes even when there's no crowd unless you track down your sever. The Almond Milk Tea was one of the best PMTs I've had so far with semi firm pearls. The milk tea was rich and sweet but not over powering. House Special Patbingsoo ($7.50) - Shaved ice topped with a variety of fruits (watermelon, kiwi, mango, strawberry), mochi, fruity pebbles, red bean, and a scoop of vanilla ice cream drizzled with chocolate syrup. The cereal was definitely interesting bc taiwanese shaved ice doesn't have that crunchy texture. I'm not sure if i like it. Considering the size, it was definitely overpriced. Duet (~$3) - Half coffee + Half milk tea = 100% goodness! Mine came with ice, but I'm sure you can ask for it hot. It was creamy and had the color of milk tea. If it hadn't been for my fellow yelpers, I wouldve ordered something standard like milk tea. My appreciation for yelp grows every day :D I definitely recommend this drink! Good desserts & drinks, but service was inexcusably slow. We got our 2 drinks & dessert after a good 20 minutes. There were only like 3 other people in the place. Tsktsk. I always hang out with my friends here. It's a nicely decorated cafe to stir up a chit-chat or play games with friends and there's a decent sized patio outside for smokers. Taste wise, it's pretty good. I love their shaved ice here! The patio is large and would be great for hanging out w friends or meetings. I only gave it 4 stars and not 5 bc the boba is small which isn't my personal favorite and also bc someone was smoking on the patio and it drifted inside... This place has been around for a good while now and has withstood the test of time with great drinks and great desserts, my favorite being the bingsu(shaved ice with toppings). It's a cafe with some seating indoors and seating outdoors as well. I like the boba here, but despite the name of this cafe, I find myself really enjoying the bingsu the best! I actually think they have a nice seating area outside, but unfortunately they really haven't done too much in the ways of decorating the area very well. Every time I come here I think about ways the restaurant could spruce up the outside area a little better(not that the outside area looks bad at all, I'm just thinking it could be even better). I don't usually sit down to eat here but what's nice it that even if you order your drinks or food to go, everything they pack is packed away nicely. It was instant ramen so don't expect to be really good. It was salty too with all the MSG. I didn't like it so don't order that unless you like ramen salty and plain. My boyfriend and I decided to stop by late one night because it was nearby and it was open. The place was relatively empty and the first thing you will notice is all of the seats available. There is so many places to sit that you can accidentally walk into a couple chairs if you arent paying attention. We decided to share a Jasmine Milk Tea, half sweetened with boba. The sweetness was perfect for me and if you dont have a sweet tooth I'd recommend getting it with half sugar too. It's a cute little Korean place. I'm sick so I thought I'd try their ginger tea and it was nasty. It was spicy and just not what I wanted. But I tried my friend's yogurt slush and it was good! I would say I've been to BobaTime over 50 times and there is a lot of things that need to be addressed. The location is a bit hidden, in the corner of a small plaza, making it hard to find for new customers. The seating provided has a very large outdoor and indoor seating, making the vibe feel comfy, welcoming, and enjoyable. They also have playing cards and large tables, which makes this place a great hangout spot. One bad thing is that there are always people smoking in the outdoor seating area, so if you are sensitive to second-hand smoking I would suggest you stay inside. For the drinks, they have a very large variety of different flavors, which for the most part is adequate. Whenever I order drinks with toppings, I always find myself left with a lot of drink left, but no more toppings. They always give so little that I usually order extra boba, which costs another $0.50. Another thing about this place is that they never ask if you want a large or small size. If you don't mention that you want a specific size they always charge for a large. The customer service is horrible. This place is run by a Korean owner, and the employees are very rude. It seems like if you aren't Korean, they don't make an extra effort to serve you. Which is unacceptable. One thing that is special about this place is that if you order a drink and sit outside, they bring the drinks to you. Overall I think this place is not the first thing that comes to my head when I think of a drink I want to enjoy, but more of a place I would go to hangout with my friends. read more

My 5 stars is an overall rating based off of drinks, service, services and ambiance. Drinks: I've honestly only had the pistachio shake and the Oreo shake. Pistachio is highly recommended! It's blended with real pistachios and I could be wrong but I think there's also powder flavoring blended into it. Because I'm not sure you could get the flavor that it has with just real pistachios. The Oreo one was decent. Both have a creamy flavor to it. Their boba is well made! It has a good chewy consistency. And it's cooked perfectly throughout. So you don't get that dissolving-lay soft first layer and soft middle. It's honestly good all the way through. It also has a good flavor, not too drenched in sugar like most places. Service: seems like it's a family owned spot. Owned by Koreans. All the workers are nice and especially the lady that's there. They add to the welcoming environment, which leads me to... Ambiance: the place has a homie feel. There are couches formed together into sections good for groups. There are also table for 2-3 people. You can find a couple of outlets for charging. And so it lends itself nicely to studying. The music is a very coffee house feel, even the Korean songs played there. Services: by this I mean the amenities. They have a well kept bathroom. Just one tho for all sexes. There's free wifi for studying. Kinda slow tho. Also they have cards by the register for you to play with. There is also outdoor seating with a huge projector screen where they play sports or news at night. Just a warning, the outdoor seating is mostly for smoking. Overall I've been here for multiple reasons and it lends itself well to it: studying, hanging out with a couple of friends, with a group of friends, or just need a place to sit and be on my phone. read more

I love this place! It's such a nice place to study or hang out at. The drinks are so good! If I need coffee, I love the iced americano because it's so smooth. And the dana slush is a great dessert drink! It's a slush that has their delicious frozen yogurt on top. I always have a hard time choosing between those two drinks, the rice slush, the oreo vanilla shake, and the yogurt smoothie.
