A very popular brunch spot!. Although there's a good amount of seatings indoors and outdoors, it was a bit cramped indoors. A fast casual restaurant. You walk in straight to the counter to place your order, find a table, and your food is delivered to you. Self-serve water station where you get your own water. The food was good. Good portion. We actually dined here twice in the same month. Parking can be a bit of a challenge.

Saucers for ketchup. No ketchup bottles here. Very cheap.

The best part about this restaurant is the service. Ana and Monica are the only reason I keep coming back. They're polite, engaging, and always have a good recommendation. They're truly the backbone of the mornings here. The reason for 3 stars instead of 5 is this. They have gotten very cheap. They no longer have ketchup and cholula bottles at the tables. Instead you're forced to try and dip your whole sandwich in these tiny saucers. It's very annoying and tedious. These replacement saucers instead of bottles are low class. I expect better from Cafe Bernardo. This was their worst idea in years.

What a quaint little spot. The inside is small and packed with tables and chairs. You order and pay before you eat, and the staff was very friendly. I'm a big chicken Apple sausage fan so when I saw this on the menu I knew right away I wanted to try it. The scramble was everything I hoped it would be. It was served with country potatoes that were well seasoned and had a good bite to them, as well as sourdough toast with a nice jam compote on the side. The scramble plate was a 4.7/5. The chai latte was good, and tasted more similar to chai made at home in a pot than what you'd get from a chain coffee spot, 5/5. The cornmeal waffle was by far my favorite dish. It was savory, semi-sweat, and the bananas were ripe and soft. I give the waffle a 6/5! Overall, I rate this establishment a 5/5!

So I read some the frilly reviews and almost passed this place up. I'm so glad we didn't! What a hidden Jem.... then you throw in the Wiki bar next door and you have a perfect combination of tasty food and some snazzy drinks! Where do I start? I had the steak and house salad. All I have to say is wow! Cooked to perfection and the salad was the right size and perfect combo of walnuts, apple slices and cheese! I'm not a Pilsner fan but the fabulous bartender at the Wiki recommended Berrysome Double Tap and that hit the spot... of course the 8.5% might have attributed to the extra wording... lol.., Do not pass this place up for dinner, great atmosphere, GREAT STAFF, and amazing food. You can't go wrong.

Came here several times with friends over the course of 2 or 3 years and is a great place for a casual brunch. We can sit here chatting all day if we wanted to because there are both indoor and outdoor seating. Even better, there are pet friendly seats outdoors so it is so cute to watch the doors here! This location is an order and pay first before seating with self serve water. I also does get really busy on the weekend mornings so seating may be difficult to find. Tried the eggs benedict dishes which are decent. Sometimes the poached egg is too over cooked but overall the dish is tasty. I would definitely appreciate consistency in the dishes though. I love the roasted or baked potatoes on the side which are slightly mashed up. The burrata pizza with prosciutto was so good (4.5/5) and the Cubano sandwich was dry and was not too flavorful. I have tried the Cubano sandwich from Porto's and the flavors do not compare (2/5). Overall this is a great location to chat but the food was OK. I like coming here for the ambience rather than the food.

Great casual place for breakfast! Lots of indoor and outdoor seating. We arrived early on a weekend just after 8am so we didn't have any difficulty finding parking or with a wait time. I can't see why if people arrive later those two things could be more challenging. Counter service was quick and pleasant. The servers were thorough too. They made sure to ask if we had any more food coming in our order. We ordered the chai latte, brioche French toast, and cornmeal waffle. The chai came in a large handleless mug. The flavor of both dishes was tasty! The fruit was ripe and sweet. Syrup on the side. Lots of bananas on the waffle. I would have liked a couple more slices of peaches personally. But still very filling and delicious food. You don't see cornmeal waffles offered in most restaurants. Cage Bernardo will be on rotating list of breakfast options!

I highly enjoyed this breakfast! The seating is self served so snag a spot when it becomes open! It's a free for all and an older fella stole my table. (Unforgivable sin) The bar inside is full service so we sat there. The kimchi fried rice was too oily but very delicious. The tacos were a bit bland but were yummy with some salsa/fried rice. The mimosas were great and made the breakfast very enjoyable!

Breakfast here for the first time. You order at the counter and they bring your food to you. The service was fast and good. The restaurant was clean, busy and the food was great. Parking was easy because it was early in the morning. I would go again!

    Chilaquiles
    Selina L.

5 stars for the weekend mimosa carafe deal. 1 star for my Chilaquiles. So I'm giving this place a 2 star. This is the worst chilaquiles I have ever had. You can clearly see in my picture the chips were completely soggy. Not a single chip was crispy. I don't even know how they messed it up this bad... like did they steam this dish by accident? The eggs were fine. Flavor was fine. Don't ever order this here. I was super disappointed. I like that you can order at the counter or just scan the QR code at the table. Service was pretty quick. Restaurant was clean.

    Marshie M.

Absolutely love this place. Its cozy and the food is fresh. Everything is freshly made so its easy to customize your dish. The service is walk up and pay but an actual server brings food to your table and they check on you during your stay. They are all very easy going and friendly.

I've always walked by this place and it was always busy, so I decided to try it. You simply order the food from the counter and grab a number before choosing your seats. The waitress was really nice when explaining different menu items. Once we were done ordering, we were looking for a table but it was hella loud inside so we decided to sit outside. The tables were pretty close together and I had a difficult time fitting in the table. I definitely wouldn't recommend this place if you have a large group as it is difficult to find tables remotely close together. The food took a little long to come out, but I understood since it was pretty packed. The food wasn't too amazing. Like there was nothing too much wrong with the food, but there wasn't anything that special about it. The potatoes had a pretty burnt flavor and the eggs were also overcooked. I don't think I would come back to this place, since the flavors tasted pretty similar and that there wasn't enough contrast as most things kind of tasted salty.

    Cooking F.

Bernardo Benedict, lowkey this spot is mad overpriced for tasteless, stingy portion food... it's not bad but like soo many other restaurants nearby are better for the same price. Chilaquiles were so plain and had little sprinkled chorizo and just mainly tortilla soggy chips with no flavor and the side of bacon is like 3 tiny pieces of skinny bacon.... for like $5 and no refills ?? sure the place is nice and cozy environment but there is so much better tasting food bruh

Is it possible to order ANY lunch or dinner item that is 100% organic?

Not sure what you mean by ANY, but it's mostly organic and local. If you have specific ingredient questions, they're extremely helpful and easy to talk to. Is everything in the USA completely organic that states it is? Who knows. But I will say…

When is brunch served on Saturday?

Is brunch offered during the weekdays?

Unfortunately no. Mon-Fri - breakfast ends at 11am…

Do they take reservations for Sat lunch? There's 6 of us.

No reservations. Tables are first come first serve

Do they charge for substitutions to meals?

It depends on the substitution, if it's a protein for a protein or a veggie for a veggie then no. If you're subbing fruit for potatoes yes.

Once they opened, we did the honey tasting, and there was an incredible number of honeys that we could taste there were 7 of us and we each tried 14 honeys, 2 nut butters and 2 fruit spreads. I have to say that the tastings are the highlight of this visit because I had no idea what an amazing variety of honey wecultivate here in the Sacramento Valley. Also, my favorite honey was from Hawaii flower that's only grown on the big island... which I had to buy. The honey is insanely expensive, but when you have something that is so unique, it's worth it. After all of that tasting, I thought I was gonna have a diabetic overload, so we went and had our savory lunch. Each one of the seven of us purchased one item and asked for it to be sliced up so that we could all share. I have to say the only item on the menu that I went crazy for was the real Gouda cheese and bacon and peach sandwich. It was absolutely divine. I also really enjoyed the whipped goat cheese with honey although the nectarines on the side should have been sliced up and incorporated so that more bites could contain them. Prices are a little steep, but the atmosphere is lovely. It was a very warm day. We had the misters going. Some people didn't like getting wet, but that's OK. There was other places where you could sit and not get wet. I would definitely come here again with people new to the area to do the tasting that was super fun and I would also like to get a tour of their operation. While they don't actually harvest the honey here they contract with the local, single hive owners and they have an amazing amazing array of honeys. They do all of the packaging injuring of the products here. I was super happy to hear that they partner with the ally in a Sacramento to make their hot honey and some infuse honey's. I love shopping local and this made me super happy farm to forget it's greatest.
