I LOVE Yeti Restaurant in Davis. It is seriously one of my go to spots. My order is pretty basic, but I get it every single time because it never disappoints. I always go for the butter chicken, medium spicy, and it is so good. The flavor is rich, perfectly spiced, and just hits every time. I also get their garlic naan, which pairs perfectly with the sauce. I usually end up spending around 24 dollars when I add extra rice and garlic naan to the butter chicken, but honestly, it is so worth it. The portions are really generous. It is easily the size of two meals in one, so you can definitely save some for the next day. I have not tried any other Indian food spots in Davis, and to be honest, I do not really feel the need to because this place is just that good. Whether I get it to go or sit down with friends and family, the experience is always great. They are very quick with their service, and even when I order ahead, the food is still hot and ready to go when I pick it up. Overall, this is a spot I will keep going back to. Gonna bump this back up to a four. Food has been consistently good again. Maybe there were just growing pains. The chicken makhani is great again. It's no longer oddly sweet. The chicken Tikka is tasty and a great entry into Indian food if you have never been. Chicken momos were a little spicy, so if you don't like spice at all maybe skip them. Yeti hasn't undergone any deep cleans or refurbishing, it could probably use one. The booth chairs are cracking and my wife found them uncomfortable to sit on. The service is typically friendly, and we've never had issues. The only thing that still irks me is charging for a rice refill while eating in restaurant. The wait is terrible. You make a togo order and they still make you wait and keep telling you lies and make you wait 10 mins after 10 mins after 10 mins. Eventually a hour and a half later and the quality of food wasn't worth it at all. The place wasn't even busy. It's a very tiny place where you're practically sitting on each other. This is my go-to place for Indian food in Davis. As a former Bay Area resident, I find Indian food in Davis lacking, but Yeti itches that scratch. I can't really comment on the service or ambiance since I typically order to go. From my limited interaction, the staff is friendly enough and restaurant looks clean enough. My typical order includes samosas, samosa chat, any biriyani, naan, paneer saag, and a meat curry (typically lamb or goat). The food is always good and I find it to be of great value. I will say that I've ordered the chicken curries before and found it to be very dry, hence I stick to other meats. The curries themselves are quite flavorful and thick, perfect for naan and pouring over rice. I haven't had any Nepalese food yet, but I've heard great things about it. read more

I went on a Saturday afternoon to eat with a friend. The service was attentive. There was only one other group dining when we were there and so the food came out fairly quickly. We both ordered thali plates for only $5 extra compared to the regular entree. They come with various vegetable side dishes, the entree, naan, and rice which was tons of food for just an extra $5! We ordered the Nepali samosas which had vegetables and potatoes in it for the appetizer. I ordered the tomato chickpea dish Saag Chana for my main entree which is spinach and garbanzo beans cooked with spices, tomatoes, and onion gravy. It was delicious! Even though I got the vegetarian entree I was still full from all the food the thali plate comes with. The plate comes with dessert also which I'm not sure what the name of the dessert is. I think it might be Indian rice pudding. It's a really great deal for about $20! I couldn't finish all my food and took some leftovers home. Overall, would highly recommend this place! Whenever I roadtrip near the Davis area, Yeti is one of my favorite places for a filling dinner. I have been coming here for years, and I have enjoyed their rice dishes, curries, and momos. This time, I went with the lamb vindaloo and shared some veggie momos with the table. I recommend getting entrees "thali style" which will add rice, naan, curry, dall, and a sweet rice dessert. At only $5 extra, this is an excellent deal and close to what some big city restaurants charge for more than once piece of naan... Service has consistently been welcoming over the years and they keep the restaurant warm and cozy in the winter, but not too hot to enjoy the warm curry. read more

We came on a busy day, and there was only one person taking orders, so it did take some time to take our orders and take payment. But not a reason to not come here haha. Take note, the entrees can be Ala Carte, or "Nepalese Thali Style". If you're hungry and want a Nepalese twist, get your entree Nepalese Thali Style. It includes Nepalese pickles, vegetable curry of the day, lentil soup, dessert and naan. We ordered the Saag Paneer and Chicken Tikka Masala. Now, we've had these dishes at other Indian restaurants, but for some reason, these dishes at Yeti are elevated! They taste much better here haha. The chicken tikka was extremely yummy, and it definitely satisfied my craving for some very great Indian food. However, I paid about $20 for a VERY small take out portion. I wasn't too particularly happy about that. The food was amazing, but if you're ok with paying that much then I guess you can ignore the price. I'm not sure if we ordered the wrong things, but unfortunately, I don't think I'll return. We ordered chicken tikki masala, combination tikki masala, garlic naan, and shrimp korma. I don't eat spice much so we first ordered medium spice for the two tikki masalas dishes. They were both so sweet and barely spicy. So we ordered the shrimp korma and I asked for spicy or their highest spice and it still came out barely spicy. I've never said that a place didn't have enough spice or kick to it because I don't normally eat spicy, but I really didn't taste much spice at all. For this type of cuisine, you need some spice or else it just doesn't taste right. Garlic naan was good though. The meat and seafood itself was okay though. read more

The curry is about the size of 1.5 bowls you would get at a Chinese restaurant if you ordered individual bowls of rice. It was tasty, but nothing special. Located in downtown Davis, Yeti is walking distance to multiple other bars, restaurants, and stores. My friend and I came here on a Thursday afternoon; while there were many tables around us, the place was not too packed. My friend and I both ordered lunch specials. I ordered lamb tikka masala curry & my friend ordered chicken tikka masala curry. Our lunch specials came with basmati rice, dal, a samosa, naan bread, vegetable curry, and a salad. For its price point, the food was plentiful. The tikka masalas both had a good amount of sweetness, and the samosa was one of my favorites. The naan bread was nicely sliced, and there was a good ratio of curry to basmati rice and vice versa. I'm looking forward to visiting this place the next time I come to Davis! It appeared to be a family run business that had comfortable indoor and outdoor dining areas. The staff were friendly and patient as we navigated the menu. Since we never had Nepalese cuisine before we also took their suggestions for dinner. Many of the items were similar to Indian dishes, but with a tasty twist to the flavors. We also enjoyed their chicken momos, which looked like Chinese soup dumplings (xiaolongbao) but had a firmer texture and different flavors. Everything was hot, tasty and served in generous portions. I came here while visiting a relative who is a local, and this is one of his go-to spots in town. He eats here all the time and I was excited not only to experience one of his favorite places with him, but also to try thali for the first time. At noon, we were the only customers when we walked in, but by the time we left an hour later, there was an ample amount of people in the store. The food was delicious. If I lived nearby, I would come by often too. We got the bread basket, which had an assortment of naan, including garlic and one kind that was stuffed with potatoes and peas. We also got the appetizer sampler, which included meatballs, mimosas, chicken Pecora, and bread. We were disappointed that we only got served two meatballs. All of the items tasted great though; The momos and pakora were both juicy, but I especially liked how juicy the chicken in the pakora was. Our items were served with 4 dips, and our favorite was the spicy one since it was a noticeable heat that built up over time. It went so well with the flavorful meats too. For the thali, we got the basil chicken and the ?. we requested for them to be spicy, but it didn't come out spicy. We were able to send it back to the kitchen, asking for more of a kick. The ? was my favorite out of the two because it was rich and flavorful with a slight tang. The sides were solid, and my favorite was the spiced potatoes. Nothing was lacking in flavor. A downside of our dollies was that one of our desserts came out wrong. We were supposed to try that?, But instead had two rice pudding. Overall, the food here was really delicious, although the environment got chaotic after three tables filled up. We had to stand up a lot to ask for things like napkins and extra plates. I would throw down for Yeti! If I lived in Davis I would eat here at least once a week (maybe twice)! We often visit family in Davis and stop by Yeti every chance we get. Their food is hot, fresh, and incredibly delicious! By far the best Nepalese restaurant I've ever had. The fiancé and I usually opt for the "Couple's Special" which offers plenty of appetizers, dishes, dessert, and even drinks! All for such a reasonable price (at least compared to Sacramento)! I ordered the Chicken Momo ( around $13.99 for 10 pcs) and I thoroughly enjoyed it! It was amazingly flavorful and incredibly filling since I usually don't order it as a single serve main dish. It was definitely different from the Momo that I've had from other Nepalese restaurants, but delicious nevertheless. I also got a Mango Lassi (about $3). We stopped by Yeti during a walkabout around Davis while we were visiting some friends. We ordered some our standard metrics of Indian restaurants: chicken makhani, garlic naan, and samosas. It was all fine. The chicken was a brighter red than anticipated with a slightly sweet flavor (which my gf does not like but I do not mind). The garlic naan had a pungent garlic flavor and seemingly some other vegetable-resembling garnishes on it. The highlight were the samosas, which we not outstandingly flavorful, but were hot and had a lovely consistency (perfectly crisp on the outside, soft and nicely mixed on the inside). We were thinking of taking the food to go, but the outdoor seating was well spaced (in contrast to seating elsewhere in the downtown Davis area), so we sat down to eat.
