Best Poke in Davis! High quality ingredients, tasty sauces and large portions - try it out if you haven't yet. Orders can be made online on in the restaurant and can be taken to go or on site. A nice little terrace offers a great option for lunch.

Still a huge fan of this place - since the beginning, the quality of their poke and all of their ingredients have been excellent and it's the easiest thing in the world to order online and then pick up the to-go order, which is always ready when you want it. For me, the small size is perfect - but I recently ordered the large so I could have some leftovers and try even more of the options. My go-to's are the traditional and the salmon poke, always with rice, the cucumbers, crab salad, ginger, edamame and seaweed salad. Sometimes with some furikake. Every last sauce I have tried have been wonderful - my favorites are usually the spicy mayo or the peanut chili but it depends on my mood. Service is always friendly and speedy - and there is always parking spot perfect for picking up without the drudgery of looking for a parking space downtown.

Great food and ambiance. This is one of my regular spots, but since recently they have switched from paper bowls to plastic and honestly I don't feel like coming as often anymore. I hope it's a temporary issue, but it's been happening for quite some time, so I'm afraid there's no plan to return. I just feel disgusted producing so much trash even when eating in.

3 scoops of protein in this one

Was hit with a nice reminder of inflation when I had lunch here earlier. $19 for a bowl of poke?!?! Goodness. That was for 3 scoops of protein. The larger bowl, with 5 scoops, was a couple bucks more. Ordering was pretty simple. Pick your size - 3 scoops or 5 scoops of protein, pick your base - rice, salad or half and half, pick your proteins, pick 1-2 sauces which you can also have on the side, pick up to 10 sides, and pick up to two toppings. The fish was fresh and tasty. All the sauces, sides and toppings complemented the protein well. Portions are generous so given the price it's worth it. This is more of a grab and go spot, so while there is a bit of indoor and outdoor seating, you'll find most folks just getting their food for takeout. Last, I haven't tried ordering online, but seems to be a good option to skip the wait. I just went in during lunch and ordered in line and the wait wasn't bad at all.

Tiny amount of avocado for $1.50, not even fresh looking

Good in person but delivery I have had repeated bad experiences. They are really stingy with the delivery. The sauces aren't full and they gave me this tiny amount of not so green looking avocado even though I paid extra to have it. Also they are too cheap to give utensils or napkins with the delivery.

    Delicious poke bowl!!!

My vacation turned into a flu-cation I had a craving for poke, and had to rely on Door Dash for some of my meals. The selections of restaurants were limited, so I chose Zumapoke. When I took the lid off the poke I was pleasantly surprised by the cutting of the vegetables, and fish!! Everything was presented beautifully!!! Cucumbers were thinly sliced, crab was finely mixed, soy beans lightly blanched, and fish was evenly cubed!!! The whole bowl was delicious!!!!

I love this place!! And the portions are amazing. During Covid they did pick up and it was so easy and even afterwards you can still order in advance and the take away is so easy. The kids bowls are a big hit too. This is one of our favorite spots in davis.

i liked this place! the vibe isn't as good as good friends and it's more expensive, but the quality of the fish is definitely better :)

Looking for a quick dinner with friends so we stopped by this poke place to grab food to bring home. Even though they were almost about to close and all the chairs were already put away, they still let us order and patiently waited for us to decide what exactly we wanted! It's $15 for a regular bowl with 3 scoops of rice and $17 for a large with 5 scoops of rice. You can also get crab salad and seaweed salad as toppings too (but avocado and masago costs extra to add). I got a large to try more kinds of fish: - garlic shrimp (favorite) - poke salmon (also favorite) - oyster salmon - spicy tuna - ahi tuna I liked the salmon and shrimp more than the tuna but it's also hard to get super fresh tuna, so if I were to go again I'll probably just stick with the top two. I also like how they have marinated options though instead of just regular fish that they add sauce to. Also appreciate how they let me get sauces to the side instead of automatically adding it in (I assumed the marinated fish would be flavorful enough). They're pretty generous with the amount of fish/toppings packed into one takeout container and didn't miss any of the toppings I wanted!

Custom Large Build Your Own Poke Bowl

Absolutely amazing! HUGE bang for your buck here, fish is high quality and the modifications are endless, can't beat it! I travel to Davis twice a year and this is a can't miss every trip!

Service ordering at the counter was friendly & patient as I looked over the menu. I eventually zeroed in on the Zesty Flavored Salmon under the Specials/ Rice Bowls. It didn't take long. Handing me the packed to-go container, I immediately noticed its heft. There was a lot of food crammed in there. As soon as I was back in my room, I peeled open the lid to get at the goodies inside. My 1st observation was that there was lot of salmon. A bunch of fresh veggies too. For being on the menu as a rice bowl, there was exactly the right amount of rice underneath everything else. This definitely was not a case of too much rice being added as an empty calories filler. All in all, it was quite tasty. Indeed, even zesty. & enormously filling. Just a massive bowl of delicious salmon/ veg/ rice w/ a sauce that tied it all together. In this economy, Good Friends Hawaiian Poke is a great value. Whenever I'm hungry in Downtown Davis, I'll be back.

I used to be one of those people who would not eat raw fish, but after trying their poke, that completely changed for me. Now I always go for the bomb salmon and tuna and add my own toppings, and it is so good every time. The flavors are fresh, well balanced, and just hit in a way the cooked option never did for me. Overall, I am really glad I gave this place a second chance because it completely changed my perspective. If you are unsure about raw fish like I was, I definitely recommend trying it here.

Can't comment on service either; will likely update when trying in person. I'm kind of teetering in between 3 to 4 stars but ultimately decided with 4. The first comment I want to make is that the food is expensive but the portions are really big. I think that you can definitely eat at least two meals out of a single order. Primarily, the reason for the 4 star consideration is because of how big the portions are. I got a mixed BBQ rice plate with the short rib, beef, and chicken katsu. It was definitely good food but could be better. I think it was missing some sauce and the food was SOOOO salty. The star of the show was definitely the short ribs and they had a nice balance of fat to meat ratio and went great with the rice. The beef was a little bit on the chewier side and the katsu was a bit dry. The sauce that they did provide was a sort of sweet and sour sauce but just didn't pair all that well with the meat. The sweetish-tangy contrasted quite poorly but this is a just personal taste so can't dock too much for it. Overall, I think it is good and I will try to go in-person. Recommend if you're a fan of the cuisine or in the area! Big portion, fair price. Decent food.

In front of my table was where the staff was making dumplings (they were behind glass). After looking at the menu, I opted to get some traditional soup dumplings, bbq pork fried rice, and pineapple bao buns for dessert. My server was Bing and she was nice and efficient. She came back to check on me a few times throughout my dining experience. My fried rice came out first. It was a LARGE serving of fried rice, it of course had eggs, carrots, peas, and BBQ pork. It was flavorful. Next came out the soup dumplings. They were brought out in a steamer basket with a top to keep them warm. These were amazing. The light and delicate dough, mixed with the savory pork filling, and the salty broth was perfection. Next came out my pineapple bao buns. To be honest, I wasn't sure how I was going to like them. To my surprise these may have been the star of the show. The dough was light and sweet, the top was carmelized and sweet, and the custard inside reminded me of a Dole Whip from disney (exept it wasn't cold, it was warm).
