Idk - The image shows a wooden table with a large white plate holding rice, chickpeas, olives, salad, and a piece of bread. A metal spoon rests on the rice. Next to the plate is a bowl of yellow soup with leafy greens and a fork. A small bowl of fresh greens is also visible. The setting appears to be a casual dining environment with a notebook in the background.

It was ok. Kind of bland and could use some spice. Service was alright, but of course it's just students. The ambiance was nice and lively!

I suggest going in between hours and not at the hour or right before or right after the hour. Classes are usually over at 50 mins past or on the hour so many students will be waiting in line. Food is good, go to for quick service would be on the market. Poke or Hawaiian bbq. In pic: 6 oz Poke bowl with CA roll and Shrimp, Jalapeno, red onion, cucumber, kimchi, masago, krab, and micro cilantro. Sauce: Umami soy glaze and creamy siracha with a salad base. Toppings: Togarashi, chili oil, crunchy garlic/onion, and nori Poke: size options are 4oz or 6oz, the protein being the only weighed part. (You can ask for avocado but it's an extra $1.50) Choice of jalapeno, red onion, and/or cucumber (can select all 3 or just what you want and it doesn't count towards the limit of add ins). Afterwards, there are 9 choices, you can choose up to 3 with any additional being extra cost ($0.75 each) Then you can choose whatever sauce you want, then choose a base (white rice, brown rice, salad, or shrimp chips or wonton chips). Then choose any toppings (Furikake, sesame seeds, chili oil, crunchy garlic/onion, togarashi (Japanese 7-spice), nori, and chili thread)

This review is for Latitude Market. The DC (dining commons) is nice too, but I have not been since I graduated. More specifically, this review is for the Poke Bowl. Their poke bowl is one of the best poke bowls I've ever had. If not best, then one of the more unique ones. They only have one option for fish, tuna, but it is seriously awesome and fresh tuna. I was extremely surprised by the wonderful quality of the tuna. You can also choose shrimp and imitation crab. I usually do a mix of tuna and shrimp. What really makes this poke bowl shine is the sauce, toppings, Wonton chips, and plentiful amount of food!!! The amount of food is pretty awesome for its price (probably because there is less fish than normal?), and the sauces pair really well with the umami toppings. The Wonton chips are very well seasoned, and really complete this poke bowl as a whole for me. I cannot wait to come back here and eat the poke bowl. This is one thing I will definitely miss about Davis. If you're a student, Latitude Market is also a great place to come for more unique snacks, or a quick bite to eat. I'm sure it'll be awesome when operations open up more. Their smoothies and food selection are great too! But I'm really passionate about their poke bowl and wonton chips!! As a plus, the staff is super helpful, supportive, and understanding! I love the high standards of service!!

They're open with limited hours during the summer of Covid. I went to the grab-n-go side just to see what they had to offer. They had a good selection of snacks and drinks, some inexpensive lunch snacks like the crackers and chicken salad kits. Great selection of nuts They do have premade breakfast sandwiches and burritos that they can heat for you. There's lunch sandwiches and wraps too, premade and made-to-order that cost about $5-$7. Bonus: they have gelato, smoothies, & shaved ice!

Chicken Shawarma Plate and side salad with hummus. - The image shows a white plate with Mediterranean dishes including rice, falafel, and vegetable toppings, along with a side salad featuring chickpeas, greens, and a creamy dressing. The meal is served on a wooden table, with a fork resting on the salad plate and a glass of iced tea nearby. The food appears freshly prepared and is part of a diverse dining experience.

Ali Baba - Breakfast Burrito

A trip back to Davis isn't complete without hitting up the old college haunts, and this spot still…read moreholds up. This weekend was a nostalgic return to my go-to for breakfast burritos, and despite the inevitable price hike since my college days, the flavors were exactly as I remembered. The Legend: This isn't your average breakfast wrap; it's a heavy-hitter loaded with a unique mix of ingredients that shouldn't work as well as they do. The Build: Two scrambled eggs, cheddar cheese, crispy bacon, and savory gyro meat. The Crunch: They pack it with french fries for that perfect starchy texture. The Kick & Sweet: What makes this special is the combo of honey and Tapatío, it gives you that sweet-and-spicy profile that keeps you coming back for every bite. The Experience: I was so excited to dive in that I actually started eating before I could even snap a photo for the review. It's the ultimate comfort food and the perfect way to fuel up while visiting town. The Verdict: If you're a UC Davis alum or just passing through, this burrito is a mandatory stop. It's a bit pricier now, but for a nostalgic meal that satisfies every craving at once, it is worth every penny. It was everything I remembered and more!

I was looking for places that served breakfast and came across Ali Baba. I would rate this place…read more3.5 stars. It's located right at the edge of campus so it's a popular spot with the students. Parking is tricky since it's close to campus, Maoist of the street parking nearby is in the residential neighborhood, during the week, only those with permits are allowed to park in the neighborhood. When we arrived around 1 PM, there was a good amount of people there already. You order at the kiosks and wait for your name to be called. Food is already packaged to go. Plenty of seating is available. Pros: food came out fast and the staff are friendly. I saw a lot of good reviews about their breakfast burrito so I ordered that and a lamb gyro. Portions and prices are decent. The food is nothing to write home about. Cons: parking isn't easy to find

With the student discount and a drink our total came out to about $30, which I think is a pretty good deal. I have to agree with a lot of the comments here in saying that the falafel is really good. The falafel was nice and moist, not dry at all and that perfect balance of like crumbly, but still able to maintain it shape. It appeared really well with the rice and the sauce. Speaking of which, sauces. They do not skip. My only complaint about the platter is that there aren't a ton of veggies/salad, but that's really not that big of a deal. The veggies are pretty good though, they've got a sauce and seasoned well. The gyro platter itself was pretty good, I actually really liked that the meat isn't shaved, rather it's cubed. It makes the meat feel and taste a lot more tender and juicy, as I find the shaved meat can run a little dry. Not much to say about service or ambience, as I wasn't really there for that or really paying attention. The person that was running the register was kind enough. I totally forgot until after we had ordered that they are known for their burgers. Will stop by at a later date to give that a try and update the review.

Show your student ID before you pay to get 15% discount!!…read more Going to compare this to Sam's Mediterranean. Both are good and would come back to both, just different vibes and styles of food. These two definitely cheaper and better to go to than Royal Kabob. Falafel Corner is more take-outey less homey vibes, less vegetables. Hummus has less rich taste, but as a non Middle Eastern person I think it's still authentic, just more take out vibe. Compared to Sam's, less bread but good especially when hot, no red sauce, more meat, less vegetables, less flavorful rice. I like Sam's better, but I understand the high reviews and would bring others here.

But that should not distract from the yummy Mediterranean food that you can find at Shah's. It's totally worth the hassle with finding a place to park. The interior is on a smaller side, only few tables inside, and the ordering is at the counter. Pick an option from the menu-either a wrap or platter-and the friendly staff will make it in front of you. You just add stuff to it as you go. Think of it as a Middle Eastern Subway or a Chipotle. For the meat options they offer chicken or lamb, but there is also falafel and fish options for those with different dietary needs. We tried both the chicken and lamb, in gyro and platter form. The portions at Shah's are very generous and you can make it even more filling by adding more condiments and toppings to it. Warning: the spicy sauce is actually spicy, not "American spicy", so take that into mind when ordering. I also noticed Shah's also carries burgers and sides such as fries or chicken nuggets, but we did not try that on this visit. For filling and quick meal, Shah's is (still) one of the best options in town. It is great that they're open late and now have a brick-and-mortar presence, so we don't have to wonder where the truck will be parked.

I always go for the butter chicken, medium spicy, and it is so good. The flavor is rich, perfectly spiced, and just hits every time. I also get their garlic naan, which pairs perfectly with the sauce. I usually end up spending around 24 dollars when I add extra rice and garlic naan to the butter chicken, but honestly, it is so worth it. The portions are really generous. It is easily the size of two meals in one, so you can definitely save some for the next day. I have not tried any other Indian food spots in Davis, and to be honest, I do not really feel the need to because this place is just that good. Whether I get it to go or sit down with friends and family, the experience is always great. They are very quick with their service, and even when I order ahead, the food is still hot and ready to go when I pick it up. Overall, this is a spot I will keep going back to. Great food, great portions, and always consistent.
