Located downtown Davis with plenty of street parking. Small entrance almost missed it but awning helped. Suggest more lighting . Got seated quickly . Food is large portions , moderate price and had plenty for take home . The samosas were huge and my favorite. Server was friendly and knew the menu . 100% recommend this place .

Legit four stars. The tomato base for the chicken tikka masala was really good. That's its open late is also a bonus. Friendly staff. Glad I stepped in.

Definitely a hidden gem in Davis! The place is dim inside and there are tables and booths to sit in. The food and drinks were good, definitely recommend getting the mango lassi, spicy chicken tikka masala, assorted bread basket, and vegetable samosas! The service is friendly and always attentive.

came here on a friday evening and enjoyed my meal! it's cute inside and the service is quite friendly! i ordered a lamb curry -- thali style of course! i think i ordered spicy and it was indeed quite spicy; would probably recommend medium next time. super delicious though and would come again!

Great food, everything tasted like it was home made! The service was astonishing as well but one of my favorite things about it was that it's quiet and peaceful! Dimly lit and in downtown, we will be back!

Music is bumping, food is bumping, and portions are bumping up my tummy. Come ready to be full of a beautiful and complex blend of indian spices, perfectly charred meat, and fluffy rice. Its like beyond seasoning, it reminds us how Indian cuisine is one of the highest forms of eating you can enjoy. That's my boyfriend waving his finger because he was happy he got the last chicken momo.

Lamb Tikka Masala

The food was delicious and portions were sizable! Would definitely recommend if you like Indian food!

Tandoori Chicken

I wanna really cry. My tandoori chicken was bloody raw on the inside and I ordered it from ubereats from Kathmandu Kitchen. It took so long to arrive and I was so hungry, and meat was uncooked inside. I feel like I'm about to get food poisoning and my stomach is twisting. Never again.

Gross. Don't eat here. I was served raw chicken. I called the owner to let him know not because I wanted to complain, but because I wanted him to be aware so that it doesn't happen in the future he responded with. I don't care that the chicken is raw. I don't care what I served to the customers I have over 100 customers a day. I don't care what one person thinks. I ate a piece of it and my stomach is hurting now. I'm praying I don't get severely sick. The county has been notified after posting a picture on social media. The main comment people wanted me to do was report them so that's what I did. I also called my doctor and I have to watch my symptoms for the next 12 hours and hope I don't get severely sick from this.

I LOVE Yeti Restaurant in Davis. It is seriously one of my go to spots. My order is pretty basic,…read morebut I get it every single time because it never disappoints. I always go for the butter chicken, medium spicy, and it is so good. The flavor is rich, perfectly spiced, and just hits every time. I also get their garlic naan, which pairs perfectly with the sauce. I usually end up spending around 24 dollars when I add extra rice and garlic naan to the butter chicken, but honestly, it is so worth it. The portions are really generous. It is easily the size of two meals in one, so you can definitely save some for the next day. I have not tried any other Indian food spots in Davis, and to be honest, I do not really feel the need to because this place is just that good. Whether I get it to go or sit down with friends and family, the experience is always great. They are very quick with their service, and even when I order ahead, the food is still hot and ready to go when I pick it up. Overall, this is a spot I will keep going back to. Great food, great portions, and always consistent.

Normally get the Couple's Special dinner with meat. Includes a plate of appetizers and lamb curry and butter chicken, with rice and lentil soup, 1 order of naan, and 2 drinks. Tucked away in a quieter part of Vacaville, Essence Indian Cuisine feels like one of those spots…read moreyou're almost tempted to gatekeep -- but the food is too good not to share. A friend and I met here for lunch to celebrate her birthday and catch up. We arrived right at opening and had the place to ourselves for about an hour. Guests slowly trickled in closer to the lunch rush, but I was honestly surprised it wasn't packed -- because what they're serving deserves more buzz. We ordered the chicken tikka kebab, butter chicken, methi malai shrimp, and garlic naan. I'll admit, I was skeptical about the chicken tikka since I'm not usually a fan of chicken breast (hello, dryness). But this? Tender, juicy, well-seasoned, and paired beautifully with the mint sauce. A strong start. The butter chicken was slightly different from what I'm used to -- more red orange in color, clearly leaning into a stronger tomato base. Creamy, flavorful, and a bit brighter than the typical richer versions. Different, but still very good. And then... the methi malai shrimp. Wow. Just wow. This was new to me and absolutely the standout. The coconut-based sauce was rich without being heavy, beautifully balanced, and full of flavor. The shrimp were cooked perfectly -- tender, not rubbery, and not curled tight (which usually signals overcooking). This dish alone makes the 30-minute drive worth it. I've since checked menus closer to home hoping to find it elsewhere... no luck. The garlic naan was the perfect companion -- flavorful but not overpowering, ideal for scooping up every last bit of sauce from both dishes. Service deserves its own spotlight. The host/waiter was phenomenal -- attentive without hovering. Water glasses stayed filled, he checked in just enough, and at one point mentioned he didn't want to interrupt because it looked like we were deep in conversation. That level of awareness? Appreciated. Smaller, intimate setting. Thoughtful service. Well-executed food. If you're in Vacaville and craving Indian food, give this place a try. In my opinion, it absolutely holds its own -- and maybe even edges out the more "popular" spot in town. And yes, I'll be back for that methi malai shrimp.

We also ordered dosa, garlic naan, pani puri, samosa chaat, and chicken tikka masala. Everything was beyond delicious, and my friend wanted to take all the leftovers home lol Inside wasn't too busy as we went mid-late afternoon when most restaurants are usually closed in between lunch and dinner. Our servers were amazing, brought out our food promptly, and even took some nice pics of us. They still had their xmas tree/decor up and that brought a nice, warm vibe to the place overall. Highly recommend if you're in the area. It will not disappoint :)

We were seated immediately, which I always appreciate. The space is pretty big with a modern feel, and there's plenty of parking out front (no circling the lot like a hawk -- love that). Even though they gave us the lunch menu, we went à la carte. Ordered: tandoori chicken, butter chicken, coconut shrimp, butter naan, and rice -- all medium spice where applicable. The tandoori chicken was tender and well seasoned -- no dry chicken nonsense here. The butter chicken was exactly what you want it to be: rich, creamy, tomato-forward, and comforting. But the one that caught me off guard a bit was the coconut shrimp -- creamy, slightly sweet, and a little more mild than "medium" heat, probably because of the coconut milk, but still really good. And listen... the butter naan? Fresh, warm, and absolutely necessary. Both the butter chicken and coconut shrimp were made for dipping. No shame in wiping those plates clean. Service was great. Staff was kind, checked in on us without hovering, and kept our water filled without us needing to flag anyone down. Overall -- easy, enjoyable lunch. Good food, good service, no complaints. I'd definitely come back.

As soon as you open the door, you're greeted with all the wonderful spices used to prepare the food. Since it isn't listed on the menu, you can BYO for a corkage of just $15 per 750ml, probably one of the cheapest in the county. We had a variety of dishes and overall the food was well prepared and tasty, though we all favored some dishes over others. The samosas were excellent - the filling was delicious and pairing it with the two chutneys just elevated it. The only minor complaint is that the samosa wrapper was quite thick and pretty hard/crunchy in places - I think it would be better if the seams were rolled thinner so when they joined up, they wouldn't be too thick. The momos were just okay - I probably wouldn't order those again. The meat filling was tasty, but the momo wrappers were so soggy from steaming that they immediately fell apart. There was also no sauce whereas I'm used to momos being served with a spicy tomato chutney. We ordered multiple main dishes and I won't go into every single one, but each was tasty. The curries were flavorful with a perfect balance of spice and their buttered naan was to die for! Overall, we had a great dinner! Service was wonderful and we'll definitely be back to try more items off the very large menu :)
