Half chicken and veggie (green) momo's

FOOD: 5 out of 5! By far the best food I've come across in California and I'm a Bay Area native. Full of flavor, top fresh ingredients and a good variety of selections (from vegan to meats). You can tell the chef really makes everything from scratch so it tastes like home cooked meals which is what I prefer. I've tried various dishes on their menu and all of them have been 5 out of 5. Our favorites are the veggie momo's, veggie chow mein, lamb biryani, okra curry and Chana masala. Also their chia hot tea is the best I've tasted outside the home - I drank chai as a child regularly since I lived with a family from Northern Kenya and this place is pretty darn close to how it tasted as a child. Amazing!!! SERVICE: 6 out of 5! The friendly waitress/owner makes you feel welcome right when you walk in... like you're dining at her home. My 2 daughters always look forward to coming here just so they can enjoy the great hospitality here! I promise you, you will not leave here unsatisfied or hungry. You will leave here full of joy from the delicious food and heartwarming service! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

This restaurant is a hidden gem. We came here for lunch on a Tuesday. The walls are thoughtfully decorated with one of a kind photos taken in Nepal. The decor is simple, warm, and inviting. We were served by the owner, a kind woman from Nepal herself. We were told their unique story of how this female partnership came to fruition. The masala chai was yummy and rich. We ordered vegetarian dishes, with a raisin and nut bread new to us. Portions were generous, so our containers we brought with us were put to good use. Overall, delicious! We will be returning soon.

Wow! Best dinner in Concord! Cute, quaint establishment ran by a pair of sisters from Nepal. One sister cooks, the other serves and one of their husbands helps run out the food. Perfect family restaurant! We had in order of like to love Chicken Tikka Masala, Aloo Gobi, vegetarian momos, onion and garlic naan, masala chai and the star of the show the scallop korma. The food was fantastic, the service was homey and parking wasn't bad. Beware a 5 is spicy, not medium still great but for those who can't take heat, you've been warned!

I used to frequent some Himalayan cuisine restaurants in Berkeley so I thought that I would try one a little closer to home. So you pick from different types of curries along with a spice level between 2-10. Then you choose your "protein" so you can personalize your dish to your specific taste which is nice. I had Chicken Tiki Masala, plain naan bread and basmati rice. It was the flavors, colors and freshness that really stood out to me. I believe it was the owner who was serving so obviously the service was exceptional. The ambiance was inviting and cozy. They're located across from Todos Santos Plaza in Concord. Definitely coming back to try their Biryani!

Came a couple weeks ago for dinner on a weekday around 7. Not too busy and got seated immediately. Wait staff was friendly, but a little slow. Not a big deal since it seemed they were a little understaffed. Had high expectations since the reviews and pictures looked good, however things Just fell a little flat. Ordered the: Chicken Momo (3.5/5): Flavor of the momo and dipping sauce was pretty balanced, but just feel a little flat, needed to amp up the flavor Goat Biryani (3/5): Just did not have that Biryani Flavor, not sure if it's the Himalayan style but tasted a bit bland Garlic Naan (3/5): Just tasted like Naan, needs more garlic Exotic Tikka (2.5/5): Was craving tikka and wanted to like this. It was a decent attempt, but for some reason just tasted time tomato bisque soup. Overall, food was just alright, but wait staff was nice. Don't think I would go back

Delicious food served with home style hospitality. Delicious: Garlic naan, onion naan, cheese naan, shahi pista korma, aloo gobi, momos, mulligtawny soup, tomato tarka dal.

On a chilly and windy evening, this was a warm inviting refuge. The hostess seated us and then helped to explain the many Nepalese options on the menu, focusing on the spice options. We found the Chicken Choyela a delicious appetizer. I really enjoyed the Tikka Masala; (UK's favorite dish!?); the creamy sauce really delighted. My wife enjoyed the Bismati Rice Biryani, my son swiftly polished off Sekuwa Chicken. We had cheese and regular Naan, pickles, and rice. A sumptuous feast, with lovely spices and flavors that celebrated some of the best cuisine from that part of the world, all washed down with Taj Mahal beer. I've eaten a lot of food from that cultural area, but rarely has it been any better.

We ordered Makhani Mazza with lamb, exotic chicken tikka masala, palak paneer, garlic nann and chicken momo. The food is completely different than any other regular Indian food we have tried before and no wonder this place is 5 stars. I highly recommend the Makhani Mazza and exotic masala, the sauce was the best and very different. The owner can adjust the food basing on your preference and spice level. Everything is homemade and they delicate their dishes. The restaurant is nice and clean. The owner was really nice, she patiently explained the menu to us and what we expected since it was our first time trying Nepalese food.

Flavors or the world #1 Looking for Nepalese food, we found a small restaurant in the heart of downtown Concord called "Himalayan Cuisine" and here is what we think. Coming in, we were greeted by a very nice gentleman and a sweet woman whom also took our order; we shared that it was our first time in their restaurant and eating Nepalese food and they explained every section on their menu, and helped us chose some dishes. To start we ordered the chicken momo's and because I mentioned I didn't eat chicken, they kindly did half vegetarian and half chicken for us. That was super nice of them. Then we order 1 Entree to share which was shahi pista korma, and that was our favorite, the sauce is delicious, not spicy at all, and a little bit sweet, the lamb that comes with it was perfect and really tasty; then, as a side dish we order the Potatoes aloo aachar and Garlic naan, the potatoes were cold, I am not sure if that's how they are supposed to come out but they were fine, the garlic naan was so good, of course, it's garlic! For drinks we had the Mango lassi which is a very thick, creamy and sweet non alcoholic beverage (im assuming popular with kids) and a flying horse beer, which is a lager beer that went great with this meal. Overall, the experience was very good. out of because it lack ambiance. And about affordability out of

On a Saturday morning we decided to find something that we have not tried before. By yelping, we decided to give this one a try. I am so happy about our decision. The husband and wife who owns the restaurant actually work out front to greet the customers and are both so nice. After having some nice conversation with them I can see that they want to have a nice sit down dinner. Buffet only available Saturday and Sunday which is what we decided to have. The dinning area is super clean and the food is very good. When compares to the traditional Indian restaurant, I think this one put less spice less salt and make the taste a little bit more gentle to my palate, which I like it. Their price seems a buck or two higher than other Indian buffet but I don't think I would mind for that.

So this is a follow up review as the owners and menu has changed recently. I want to say that i absolutely love and adore this place but I'm not sure what happened to the food quality. I feel like it's changed since they have changed ownership. Not only has the price gone drastically up. I always order the same thing, goat curry, butter chicken, tikka masala and a bread basket it never reached $60 and now I'm paying upwards of $70. I understand the pandemic plays a huge piece to this but this establishment stayed booked and busy the entire time so not sure why the prices changed this drastically. Changes: Goat Curry- a lot more watery, not as flavorful so a bit more of a letdown because it was hands down my favorite thing on the menu. The butter chicken for the most part tastes the same and same with the tikka masala. Our bread basket was really doughy which was another thing we were disappointed about. All in all it pains me to make this review because this was one of my favorite places. If we do go back it will every once in a while. ( we would order once a week or every other week from here)

We'd been there once, years ago, and couldn't really remember it much. We walked in and waited a solid 5 minutes (or more) for someone to come to the front acknowledge us, and there were others waiting as well. We assumed that they must be very busy, but they only had a few tables of customers. The atmosphere wasn't nice, but it was ok. We didn't expect fine dining vibes. There were no table cloths, and a mint green paint job which matched the color of the napkins. We ordered the "vegetarian feast" and also the butter chicken; we wanted to sample different items and probably bring home leftovers. The first thing that came out was the chai tea, which was fine. After a little wait, the samosas arrived. The samosas were delicious, and we agreed that they were the best we'd ever had. The two sauces they served with the samosas were also very tasty. Unfortunately, that was the last great thing about our experience at Sargam. The wait for the rest of the food was quite long. We weren't in a hurry, but it was definitely longer than should be acceptable at a restaurant. (All in all we were there for about 90 minutes). When the food finally came out, one of the items was missing from the vegetarian feast (the "two naris"). We didn't notice until later that we never got this item. The food's taste was average. Perhaps below average for the Indian food in the Bay Area. The chicken was not very tender but it wasn't terrible. We ordered the food "medium spicy" but there was zero spice. Also, the temperature wasn't as hot as it should be. Most of the items were almost luke warm. The nan wasn't anything special. It wasn't as tasty (or warm) as it is at most places we've been to. At the end, we were supposed to get two desserts, according to the menu's description (photo attached) of the vegetarian feast. They never came. We wrapped up our leftovers and I asked the woman (who seemed to be the manager), who had taken our order and also brought us our check, if we were going to get the desserts. She gave me a horrible look. She looked as if I had said something terrible, and acted like she had no idea what we were talking about. I explained that the dessert was on the menu as part of the "vegetarian feast". We waited about five more minutes and no dessert came out. I decided to pay and leave; we were full anyway. Sargam has "acceptable" food and ambience, long waits, and bad service with missing items. Also, they added a "service fee" of 3.5% to the check (which was not mentioned anywhere on the menu). Weird. I wanted to like it. We won't be back.
