I usually go to the Petco that is near New India. And I remember noticing that's there was a new restaurant. Seeing that it was Indian cuisine, I got excited. I told my husband that we need to try that place! So we did. The place is small. There's a few tables. You order your food at the counter either for take out or dining in. We dined in. They have a water station near a corner and they refill it when it is almost empty. Nice and cold. They provided plates and utensils when seating. Service was nice , friendly, and pleasant. If you have questions about any item in the menu, they will explain. While waiting for food, you can smell it. And it just makes you salivate and look forward for the food to arrive hehe. Food came in fresh and hot. And it was delicious and spicy!! If you love spicy, definitely come by and try the food!! And you must try the Mango Lassi. It was flavorful! I had dinner here this past Saturday. The place was small but sufficient, with a few tables inside. Ordered at the counter, then found a seat. My food took about 12 minutes to be prepared. Service was prompt and friendly. Got the butter chicken (chef special) and plain naan. The curry had the perfect spice with bite sized pieces of tender chicken. And that naan was unexpectedly satisfying, fresh tasting and crisp on the surface with a hint of butter even though I ordered it plain. It just may be the best naan I've ever had. Altogether, it was an enjoyable meal. Parking was easy out front too. read more

First off, I called in my order and totally got side tracked and realized they had already closed, so I called them and the owner Navi or Avi answered and said, no problem we still have your order if you still want it you can come pick it up. So I sped on down and picked it up. Upon arriving I met Navi and immediately apologized again and thanked him for allowing me to grab my food after closing hours. Now, onto the food. I ordered your standard butter chicken and garlic naan. The butter chicken was delicious. It was rich, creamy and velvety. They even threw in extra chicken at no additional charge. The garlic naan was soft, bubbly and buttery. Oh, and Navi even gave me a free mango lassi! Such a cool guy. I will definitely be going back again and trying everything else on the menu. The interior is small, maybe a dozen tables, but I wasn't expecting much because I use to go there when it was Acme Express. I'm so glad we finally have a good Indian restaurant nearby. The food here is like a nice home-cooked meal, delicious but not greasy or too salty. We had daal masala, chicken tikka masala, basmati rice, and garlic naan. Everything was delicious and well made. The daal masala has a nice spice to it, though I did add a little more salt to it upon reheating leftovers. The workers were pleasant. You order first and then seat yourselves, and there is a self-serve water station. They bring eating utensils and the food to your table when it's ready. DO NOT MISS THIS NEW GEM! Martinez has been in need of a good Indian restaurant for a long time and not only is New India good, but it's OUTSTANDING. I've had a lot of Indian cuisine and their dishes are flavorful, healthy, and fresh. The service is lovely and kind. We're absolutely spoiled that New India is practically in our neighborhood. I hope they are beloved by the community enough to stay for the long haul. Now, what about the food? We tried our favorite take-out staples: Lamb Biryani, Tandoori Chicken, Butter Chicken, Palak Paneer, and Garlic Naan. The Lamb Biryani was flavorful and fluffed with veggies and spices and a nice balance of fat without being too greasy. Tandoori Chicken was moist and balanced, flavorful down to the last shred. Garlic Naan was perfectly garlicky and toasted without too much ghee or oil - just right! The Palak Paneer was a real treat - classic spinach flavor with the right amount of spices and firm, delicious chunks of paneer (cheese). My husband ate his indulgent Butter Chicken before I could try any, so take that as a compliment. He usually has sauce left over, but not this time! Plan a visit if you're open to Indian food, and if you've never tried it, this is an excellent place and time to check that off your list. Martinez had no Indian Restaurant...until now! We had dinner in the restaurant and met one of the lovely owners. The food was amazing. The level of spice was perfectly balanced. I believe the default is medium and I thought it was perfect and I heard others order the spice level they wanted. Everything was piping hot! They have a tandoori oven, so the Nann was cooked to perfection. We started with Aloo Tikka Chaat, then for mains we had Chicken Boti Kabob, basmati rice and Lamb Sagg. Husband ordered a Mango Lassi. Normally I don't like them, but this one was so good, and not too sweet. We over ordered for just the two of us, but now I have lunch! Once in awhile you try a new place and it's good enough that you question the wisdom of a five-star review that could help drive more people to a place you now kind of want to keep to yourself, but that would be short sighted. This is one of those places, and for the sake of their long term success and the thriving of a restaurant that fills a gap in our local cuisine range, I hope all of you go. Right now. Today. I live in Martinez and my favorite restaurants for this kind of food are in Vacaville and Walnut Creek, but this is as good or better than those places. The food is outstanding! We eat Indian food pretty regularly, usually twice a month or so, and this just became my new favorite spot. Surprised at the reviews and 5 stars, because as much as I wanted to love this place, it just wasn't good. The rice was dry or undercooked and the masala sauces just didn't have that impact on your tongue as good curry usually does. It was literally just OKAY. I'm a huge fan of Indian food and was excited to hear that one was finally coming to Martinez! Finally, Martinez has an Indian restaurant that I can't wait to visit again! I recently had lunch from New India, and the food was absolutely amazing. I ordered the Chicken Boti, Garlic Naan, and Fish Pakora, and every dish was outstanding. The fish was moist and perfectly cooked, the chicken was tender, flavorful, and full of authentic spices, and the garlic naan was fresh, soft, and perfectly made. What impressed me most was that everything was flavorful without being heavy or greasy. The quality of the food really stood out. As someone who loves Indian cuisine, I can honestly say this is a restaurant I'll return to again and again. The service was just as wonderful as the food. I was greeted with kindness from the moment I walked in to pick up my food and I think she may have been the owner but she was lovely and made me feel genuinely welcome.
