Taro Milk Tea + Matcha Smoothie

Super friendly staff and a huge drink menu (with dairy alternatives- yay!). They have a huge dining room and couch to sit and work or study or catch the soccer game. The food menu looks tasty too - with loaded bacon hotdogs, yucca fries and more. I will be coming here more over the summer to enjoy a Taro tea while I work.

SOLID 5 stars!!! So this place has 2 sides, one is Chamos boba with a variety of drink options. The second one is the Chamos kitchen with Guatemala dishes. The place opens at 12nn. We ordered pastelito andino which to me looks like empanada except the bread is thicker. It's crispy on the outside and stuffed with shredded beef. It was delicious. We also ordered enrollados which is like a burrito without the rice and beans. It's like a flat bread stuffed with goodness. You can choose your filling. Serving was huge. We also tried the pepitos. It's like a sandwich. Then the arepas. It's almost like a panini but it's a flatbread made of cornflour. It was stuffed with your choice of meat and cheese. They also come with a side of garlic sauce. Omgeee delicious. The place was spacious and clean. Usher, the cook or chef was incredibly patient as we were asking him a million questions. He was professional and friendly. This place is next to ATT by Home Depot or you can enter through the street going to Walmart I highly recommend this place. I can't wait to go back. They will not disappoint.

The staff were very friendly and made our drinks perfectly. There is a lot of space to sit and enjoy your meal during this rainy week.

I really wanted to like this place. I wanted a taro boba but they told me it was going to be an hour for the boba pearls. So I ended up getting a strawberry matcha. I told them 100% sweetness, but it did not taste sweet at all besides the strawberry on the bottom. My bf ordered a butterfly bliss (he said that was the drink name but idk) I tried it and it literally tasted just like sugar and milk nothing else. I ordered a beef empanada and it tasted good for my first time eating an empanada (but nothing special to me), but my bf really loved it. He said he went to Spain and he really loved the empanadas. The potstickers were alright. I could have just bought a bag of potstickers and made it at home and the fries tasted like how they are supposed to taste (these were for my daughter). If I were to come back it would probably just be for the empanada and to try another drink on the menu. Oh and I got a chocolate tres leches. This was actually really good. Cashier was friendly. Drinks you have to pick up at the counter just FYI. Place looks okay, the booths are two tables put together. Not a bad spot to just snack on food and drinks.

I ordered from them using DoorDash. We only got a few items but they were delicious. I found the menu difficult because there were no clear descriptions of what I was getting so I relied on the visuals.

We love the arepas, and the yuca frita. Nice place to sit and enjoy the food. The service is excellent.

We got tequeños (cheese sticks) and I believe it was called an Enrollados de pollo! The chicken was very good in flavor!!!

It is a substantial meal consisting of perfectly grilled steak, vegetables, rice, savory sauce and a fried egg. The steak was amazing, very flavorful, tender, high quality meat. The vegetables - tomatoes, peppers, onions and (perhaps an abundance of) French fries were cooked just right. The sauce was very flavorful. The rice was a good foil to that. The egg probably makes it authentic but was not the stand out. I would order this again in a second. I took half of it home. My wife had the pork belly appetizer and plantain side. She raved about it, especially the plantains. The sauce with the plantains was perfect. The sauce with the pork belly was quite spicy and she replaced it with another sauce that they had. She again would re-order this. Service was great - educational and polite. It was efficient, though the restaurant was a lull period so can't comment on busy times. The space was inviting. There is indoor and outdoor seating. They have a wine and beer bar, but not a full liquor license. We found this a delight and it will be one of our go to restaurants in mid town Sacramento.

It had more of a risotto consistency, but the seafood was still tasty. The lomo saltado, though, was on point! Great seasoning, tender meat, and the fries were exactly what I wanted. One surprise was finding out this location doesn't have beer on draft. Apparently, the Midtown location does, so we may have to check that one out next time. Overall, a solid Peruvian spot and definitely somewhere I'd come back to try more dishes.

The birria was so damn good. Carnitas was really good too, the meat was a bit hard at times. I came with a friend and after we ordered there was an almost 30 minute wait. I was getting a bit restless but the place was busy and the food is made fresh. We were also served tortilla chips with frijoles as a sort of appetizer while we waited. They serve beer here as well. Not the biggest restaurant but the server was nice and friendly. Restaurant clean as well. Would definitely be worth visiting again.

The Spot That Made Me Fall in Love with Pupusas…read more This is the place that made me fall in love with a pupuseria. My wife and I were out one day, decided to try something new, and found this gem up the street from our church. One thing I always look for with cultural cuisine is who's actually eating there. When you walk into a place and see people who grew up in that culture enjoying the food, it tells you everything you need to know about authenticity. This spot checks that box. It feels like the kind of food you'd get at a friend's house, not just something made to look the part. The staff was friendly and personable, which made the experience even better. Now, let me set expectations--this isn't the kind of place where your water glass is getting refilled every five minutes. But you can grab a soda or a horchata and you're good to go. The open kitchen is a big part of the experience. You can see everything being made, and more importantly, you can smell it. You start eating with your nose before the food even hits the table. You take it in with your eyes, and then your taste buds finish the job. I've recommended this place to a few people, and they've gone back again and again. That says a lot. If you like authentic food and want something that feels real--not staged--I think this could easily become one of your new favorite spots.

I didn't want to write this review but I had a concern about something about the menu. I ordered the tequenos de pollo as an appetizer and the menu didn't say anything about it having cheese in which was perfect. I got the order and it in fact had cheese. I'm lactose intolerant and really sensitive to dairy so I asked about the cheese being in it. He confirmed it was in there, so I asked if they can just take it back- the waiter said no. I then asked if they can just take it off the bill because I couldn't eat it. He said no to that too. My husband doesn't eat meat and my son is lactose intolerant so it was going to be food wasted and money down the drain. I was pretty shocked because I've never been to a restaurant where they can't reasonable accommodate the guest. I then ordered my entree and the chicken was very dry and overcooked. I was not satisfied but I knew they wouldn't let me swap it for something else. Unfortunately I'm not going to rush to come back. The waiter was friendly enough but not accommodating. I get nervous when it comes to food allergies because now I know that some restaurants aren't disclosing food allergens which is actually not allowed. There are folks out here with life threatening allergies, so these places need to be careful. I'm glad I'm not one of those people but it's still disappointing.

The green sauce came with it definitely made it even better. The short rib and bean dish was good. I like the seasoning and think it would go well with lamb too. I asked for "lots of extra ketchup" after ordering a clásica burger with no mayo (comes with…read morewell-seasoned fries), a Diet Coke, and leaving a 20% tip up front, without knowing what to expect. I literally spend 4 digits on burgers every year, always ask for "lots of extra ketchup", and am never shorted, until today. The burger meat tasted below average and frozen. My family has been in the cattle ranching business since 1976, about 20 minutes from woodland. My siblings and I are third generation owners. Every time I asked the guy for more ketchup, he gave me two additional tiny packets, and I finally stopped asking bc he looked annoyed after I only had about 50% of my preferred amount of ketchup for a large burger and tons of thick fries. Moreover, they didn't even walk the order to me and ***gave me a bunch of sauce I didn't want or ask for*** WTF. Ordered the clásica burger with no mayo and they decided to drench it in guacamole which is not on the ingredients on the menu and I didn't want it. I didn't ask for a remake bc the guy had already dismissed my ketchup request. I ran out of Diet Coke (full to the top with ice) and didn't want to ask for more bc I didn't want to deal with the guy again. I spent a minute trying to wipe off the sloppy guac spread and I'm eating a very large salty meal while thirsty because I ran out of fountain Diet Coke halfway through and didn't want to talk to the guy again, to ask him for more. At any other burger place (and I'm literally a yelp elite member), they either 1) give plenty of ketchup the first time I ask, 2) they ask "is that enough ketchup?", or they 3) provide self service ketchup. Any of these options are perfectly acceptable. Virtually all restaurants do this because they understand that obsession over customer service optimizes for customer lifetime value, creates happy customers, and only costs them 12 cents. They've perhaps lost hundreds of future dollars from me because I spend an enormous amount eating out and am literally working one block away. I don't know if he owns it or just works there. This was on 7/26 at ~4PM. He would not be f****** bothered. I tipped him 20% too, up front, showing him that I expected at least reasonable service. And remember, they don't even walk the order to you. You walk up to the kitchen and order. You find your own seat, clean up after yourself, and place the tray in a designated area after you're done. I'm okay with all that, but not for a 20% up front tip with rude service. Won't be coming back even though it's profoundly convenient bc it's near a bunch of fantastic businesses I regularly frequent and enjoy. I hated my experience here. Could've had a great customer. Again, I work a block away. The fries were good though, for frozen fries. Well seasoned.
