    The tropical bowl with mango
    Chinyere E.

I tried a poke bowl from Good Friends Hawaiian Poke, and I'm not exaggerating when I say it stood out from a lot of poke I've had before. From the moment I opened it, everything just looked fresh and vibrant. You could tell they don't cut corners with their ingredients. The fish was super tender, clean-tasting, and really high quality not overly fishy at all, just fresh and flavorful in the best way. Every bite felt intentional, like everything in the bowl actually belonged together. What really made it stand out though was how refreshing it was. The combination of the cool fish, crisp cucumbers, creamy avocado, and perfectly seasoned rice just hit. It wasn't heavy or greasy at all, but it still filled me up. It's one of those meals where you finish it and feel satisfied but not weighed down, which I love. The flavors were balanced really well too. The sauces added just enough flavor to bring everything together without overpowering the natural taste of the fish. Nothing felt too salty or too much it was just right. Overall, it was super yummy, fresh, and honestly one of the most refreshing meals I've had in a minute. If you're looking for something light but still flavorful and filling, this place definitely delivers.

I was sooooo happy that my all time poke place opened a second location in town. Moved out of Davis but every time I pass by or am in the area I opt coming back again and again. ALWAYS high quality and delicious. Tons of pre marinated tuna and salmon to choose from. My all time favorite is the California salmon and spicy salmon with Delilah's style. Staff are always super welcoming, friendly and helpful when it comes to the menu. Few tables to sit at but also looks like they are still working on some renovations inside. If you haven't tried, I would HIGHLY recommend. This place is definitely my favorite ever.

got the zesty salmon wrap and it was so good, lots of crab and very filling. there was a lot of salmon as well, and the flavors all did well together. I also liked how the cucumber was marinated/sweet pickled. Definitely debatable whether to get a wrap or bowl but the wrap was not a bad choice at all. my friends got chicken teriyaki rice bowl (good) and spam musubi (average and not worth cost) My one complaint is that I was about to bite in and I saw white string sticking out of my wrap, super alarming imo and made me rethink coming back. Knocked it down a star for me. Workers go out of their way to be nice, inside was a bit crowded on the weekend so food took 5+ minutes but there was seating available. The layout of the line is not great but you get used to it.

My fat indulgent self enjoyed this large spicy tuna wrap. Never had a wrap from Good Friends Downtown before so cannot compare, but for $3 cheaper than their bowls, the wrap was fair and on par. Took a little while to get my food after ordering, but employees were friendly and place was clean. Would come back. Good fish, quality food.

Tried this new location out for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. I love the wall art. I ordered the Poké bowl with the salmon bomb and spicy salmon, tropical style. Love all the sides it comes with especially the crab, avocado, and sunomono. I really want to try the one with mango next. Staff are always friendly. Everything was so fresh.

Quite possibly the best poke place I've been to. When I entered the place was clean, the menu was clearly visible, and when I went to order, there staff helped me out and even allowed me to taste their different fish flavors! Fair warning: their bowls are REALLY BIG. I ordered their normal sized poke and was barely able to finish it. While it says the bowl is ~14 dollars, to fill it up you'll have to spend another 4 dollars to make it around 18 bucks total. I'd suggest for a smaller meal to get their mini poke bowl as that one is 4 dollars cheaper, and still relatively filling

I am a huge fan of good friends and wanted to try out their new location. It is located in a super lively plaza with many other restaurants. It wasn't hard to find parking around 7pm. I got a Poké bowl with sweet oyster ahi and spicy ahi. I liked the spicy ahi, but the onion flavor in sweet oyster ahi was too overwhelming for me. There are seatings inside and outside. Service was super quick and friendly.

Loved this place, right across from Fluffy Fluffy Cafe, same area with Trader Joe's shopping center. This is Good Friends Poke second location, we usually go to their first location Downtown Davis. I liked the parking here, lots more to park here especially if you go early, now to the food! We ordered the Poke Bowls with White Rice, and our two proteins were the California Salmon- I love how fresh the fish were, well seasoned, and the loaded toppings was free for the first 50 customers, so we were able to try the Tropical Style Toppings: Seaweed salad, cucumbers, surimi crab, wonton chips, avocado, masago, furikake, spicy mayo, and unagi sauce. The owner and workers were so nice and on it. We got free drinks for being there for Grand Opening Week, we will be back!

We came here for our daughters 12th birthday, per her request. Their employees were very welcoming & helpful. Food portions are hefty & everything tasted so good! They gave us sushi nachos on the house & the kids Easter treats. Super chill & clean inside. We loved it & will definitely be coming back.

Definitely recommend!! I believe I got Cali style and it was so good! Really could not be a bad decision when choosing poke bowl styles! They're all so so good! The proportions are so big too! Definitely like the ambiance, great for a nice lunch! Service was friendly too!!

This is my favorite poke spot in Davis! The portions are generous and served in large bowls for easy eating. There are a lot of options and styles to customize your poke bowl to your liking. They also offer brown rice which is a plus in my bowl. The staff are friendly and very efficient.

I always come here when I am missing one vital ingredient in whatever I'm making, whether that be Japanese Vietnamese, Korean or Chinese food. I'm really grateful that they have some fresh herbs and vegetables too if needed as well as a variety of Asian sauces, noodles and grains. They also have a decent collection of instant noodles and frozen food as well. Obviously, it's not stocked like your massive Asian superstore like H Mart, but it has all the essentials you need when you need a few things here and there and you're not looking to do a huge grocery haul. I've also picked up some of the prepared foods inside dishes here. The kimbap is all right, not huge portions, but is a good snack size. The tteokbokki is just OK in my opinion. I found the side dishes in the marinated meats to be really good though, if you're planning to do a KBBQ at home situation. The staff is always really friendly and prompt and the story is clean and pretty well organized. No boxes on the ground, which is nice.

They were pleasant, friendly and helpful.

Prices have risen over the years, so it feels more like an occasional treat than a casual student meal these days. We also ordered a side of sake to complement our ramen. Since then, the former sake bar has been removed as part of the restaurant's evolution into a full-fledged shokudo concept. Service was friendly, our food arrived promptly, and the overall ambience struck a nice balance between a cozy ramen shop and a casual Japanese eatery.

The protein choices are delicious and they are super generous with mix-ins, toppings and sauces.
