My partner and I decided to try out this restaurant for the first time. We were greeted and we told the hostess that we were ordering the food out. About less than a minute, the hostess came back and asked us what we wanted to order. We told her we needed another minute. Then about 30 seconds later, the hostess came back waiting for us to order. We felt rushed and she kept hovering while we were trying to decide. We also overheard her talking under her breath in Mandarin or Cantonese - service was subpar. Great sushi! Great prices! There aren't many AYCE places back in the bay, or any for that matter so we didn't have much to compare but this place definitely was impressive! The two things I do hope they change is somehow this restaurant always smells extremely nauseating; like a public restroom. My partner felt the same last he came. The second thing that could use some work is their service. It was quite sparse and we had to wait quite a bit for someone to come take our orders each round. I believe we got 2 rounds in? They were great about putting in the orders in each round though, I don't believe we missed anything. Food wise, I absolutely love the food and the variety and the fish were all super fresh. I gotta say the atmosphere of this place is such a vibe. It feels homey yet elegant without being super expensive. I LOVE LLOVE LOVE the baked mussels MMMM got me feelin some typa way fr. The servers here are also super cute and friendly, our server walked by our table frequently to ask if everything was satisfactory. Been here couple times before and quality really went downhill. One of the older waitress was hella rude, not the one that always work there, but the other one that looked like she's in her 40-50s. Told her that the fish was fishy and there's bone in it and she said she will charge extra if I don't finish the food, which was only five pieces salmon and one California roll that is stale as hell. Tips are included by the way so there's no repercussion of any kind for poor service. Would never recommend or come back. Going to other platform to spread the words now. read more

My fam LOVES sushi and they never have it with me because of the limited vegan/vegetarian options. Despite the mixed reviews, decided to give it a whirl because I did see things I can have and wanted to make it a special date for my fam. On several reviews the top complaints referenced terrible service and dry, tasteless food. Both I can dispute based on my experience. Wendy and her team were so attentive, placed our order at 7:11 pm and was dining at 7:20! Nothing at all to complain about. We had the teriyaki chicken meal and an avocado salad, the house tea (green tea/rice blend) and a taste of their delicious coffee cake for dessert. Plenty of parking in the plaza lot. This place has potential. But a few of our items fell flat...the tempura was not as expected no flavor and just didn't hit. The tako sashimi was given with just all tentacles and no real white meat, very disappointing. The salmon sashimi wasn't up to par neither. It just tasted off and consistency wasn't right....perhaps we went on an off day. Service was ok, nothing spectacular. Ambiance was pretty. Hope this place gets better. We absolutely love this restaurant. With our only complaint is service does take awhile however the staff is amazing at the same time. The sushi, is one of the best I've had in the Sacramento area. At times it reminds me of japans sushi when the rice melts in your mouth. To me that speaks volumes. I love this place will and have recommend to everyone to check it out. Their miso soup was also rly solid & we tried their cream cheese wontons which was also rly good. Service here is pretty friendly. Our waitress today was rly kind and gave us dessert on the house (deep fried banana SO GOOD) for V-day. The restaurant itself is on the dimmer side so we wanted to sit by the window. I came with my family and while we were ordering, the server kept telling us that if we cant finish, we will have to pay for surcharge fee. Mind you, not once, 4 times. For the rolls, we always love the Domo Arigato, 49ers roll, the Lincoln Hill roll, lion king roll Reggie man roll, you could never go wrong with any of these rules. They're all delicious. for sashimi, we always go for salmon, tuna, yellowfin, and albacore. staff always come around and check up on you often to ensure that you have everything you need food comes out pretty fast, but they can get busy at night for dinners because they do a lot of DoorDash. definitely a great place to take friends and family or a big group of dinner so you all can try a little bit of everything. read more

I've been coming here for quality AYCE ever since they opened a few years back and I've never been disappointed! I believe they're the only AYCE spot in Davis/a good chunk of Sac to offer sashimi for their AYCE. Their service has always been great, the sushi rolls are perfectly filling and not too heavy on the rice, and their sashimi slices are very thick and generous! Sure their prices have gone up over the years, but every place has increased prices now. The salmon here always tastes very fresh and never fishy, and they always do their best to get your food out very quick. There's a new price for dinner AYCE that includes sashimi, I believe around $33-$36 per person now. Additionally, for AYCE, they've begun adding an automatic 15% gratuity to your tab. They're very transparent about it and have always told me so that I don't double tip! I Love Sushi is my go-to spot for sushi to-go. My husband and I always order the "Party" which is your choice of any 4 rolls for $55. Definitely a good deal, especially compared to other sushi spots in the area. I love the convenience of ordering online and usually our order is ready in just 15-20 minutes. We try and get a variety of rolls each time we go but my personal favorite is the salmon roll and my husband likes the reggae man. We came here about 4 years ago and marked it as one of our favorite all-you-can eat sushi spots. Maybe we just came on a bad day but everything was just kind of a disaster. We arrived at 7pm, 1 of the 2 servers working seemed to be in a bad mood, and the computer wasn't working properly. Our first round came out pretty quick, only 15 minutes after we ordered. Half the rolls were ok and the other half were soggy and melting on the plate. We had a Sakura roll that was completely soaking wet and wouldn't hold its form no matter how you placed it. It was almost like biting into a wet sponge. The second server didn't visit us til 8:17 so that's when we were able to order our second round. There was massive confusion over ordering Nigiri because our first server told us one order will have one piece. The photo on the menu shows two pieces per order. Our second server took our order but came back with 3 times more than we ordered because she believed it was 3 pieces per order. She took the plate back and the two servers agreed to have it at 2 pieces per order. Unfortunately, I won't be coming here again. disappointing. a lot of our friends/yelp reviews led us to this place. we've tried all the sushi spots in davis and have come to the conclusion that this is the worst. immediately when we came in, it was pretty empty, but it took a while for us to get seated. we ordered sashimi, a few rolls, and their beef teriyaki (a diverse spread to test out the food) the sashimi had a weird fishy aftertaste (which those who know sashimi know that there should not be a fishy aftertaste). sashimi should bare minimum be fresh and this was not. the rolls were DENSELY packed with imitation crab and rice. the shrimp tempera was cold and soggy (no crisp whatsoever). our third round we decide to get udon and more of the beef teriyaki (mind you no sushi because it was garbage). it takes a good 20 MINUTES to get to us and the beef is weirdly cold??? this isn't even the worst part, we get our check with 15% GRATUITY INCLUDED. AND a section for EXTRA GRATUITY ON TOP OF THE MANDATORY (not well earned) GRATUITY. regardless, we would have tipped but the sheer fact that it is mandatory and at a set percentage is BAFFLING when their food and service is sub-par. the audacity is crazy. I Love Sushi more like I Love scams. Do better. read more

Not the worst! This place is definitely known for their AYCE sushi and sides (~$35) and I decided to opt out while a few people at our table got it. I ordered a jalapeño roll ( ~$16; it was just okay, probably won't get it again). Fish didn't taste super fresh and it took quite a while for it to come out. My main complaint has got to be the service. I understand they can get super busy, but it felt like they were neglecting costumers a bit. To start, the people who ordered AYCE at our tables received their entire first round of sides and rolls well before I received just one roll regularly. I'm pretty sure they were starting their second round by the time I got my food. I later asked for a side of spicy Mayo when the waiter came around, I waited around 15 minutes and didn't receive anything. Had to ask again once I was able to get his attention to which he finally brought it out. It was generally really difficult to get anyone's attention; but again I'll give them the benefit out of the doubt since it was quite busy. We arrived around 7:45/:50 pm and their front lobby was about almost full. We waited at the front for a good 10 minutes before anybody came to greet us. We got sat down and they gave menus for either regular eating where you pay for each item or you can do AYCE for $33 something per person. We decided to do AYCE because I was pretty hungry. I already knew the sushi here was good, it was always good to go and it was great dine in. Everything tasted and smelled fresh which is great. The only thing that docked off a star for me was the server never came to us unless I raised my hand so it was hard for us to order our AYCE. We got about only two rounds of AYCE sushi because of that while they were slowly closing around 8:30pm. Also, ALWAYS double check your bill because they charged us 15% Tip already with the amount (I was going to tip cash).
