One of my favorite sushi places ever, and favorite AYCE in NorCal. I come here at least once every 2 months (and I don't frequently go out to eat) because every-time someone visits me, they ALWAYS want to come here. Service was nice, the staff are always very attentive and quick. This is a place that is casual, and I've come here with a huge group before. Anyways, here's my must have list: - King Kong roll - salmon nigiri (lunch) - miso soup - cream cheese wonton read more

I liked the servers, they were fast and friendly. But the food was not good. I'm not sure if their prices have changed recently but I don't know how anyone considers this "cheap" for ayce sushi especially for the quality. Every single specialty roll is the same thing but only a small difference. They are all packed with very cheap imitation crab. The pieces are so large and too much rice and so so salty. I felt overwhelmed after my first roll and desperately tried edamame and a handroll to at least feel like I am getting my money's worth. Even the handroll had too much rice. But the nail in the coffin for me was the included gratuity on the check for 15%. I was actually going to already give a 20% which I normally do for dinner services, but since I saw tip forcefully included, I was so turned off I just thought that's it, that's what they expect so that's what they get. I am not gonna come back, but I don't think it's THE WORST I guess? Think of it kinda like the taco bell of sushi restaurants. Everything on the menu is a variation on the same base ingredients just assembled slightly differently. And like, why go to taco bell at this point when taquerias have a better deal for the price? But sometimes you still find yourself at taco bell for some reason lol so that's how I feel about this place... read more

Stopped by on Sunday for all you can eat sushi dinner. It was pretty busy but staff was quick to get us seated. They had several TVs and the decor was nice. It's def a family style restaurant nothing super fancy but it was nice. There was 2 waitresses and for how busy it was they were super friendly and attentive, it was nice to see with everyone. The food was really good every roll we ordered did not disappoint.! read more

Great sushi! Great prices! There aren't many AYCE places back in the bay, or any for that matter so we didn't have much to compare but this place definitely was impressive! The two things I do hope they change is somehow this restaurant always smells extremely nauseating; like a public restroom. My partner felt the same last he came. The second thing that could use some work is their service. It was quite sparse and we had to wait quite a bit for someone to come take our orders each round. I believe we got 2 rounds in? They were great about putting in the orders in each round though, I don't believe we missed anything. Food wise, I absolutely love the food and the variety and the fish were all super fresh. Their miso soup and udon soup were amazing, not your usual sodium packed. We both feel like we ate our money's worth without stuffing ourselves. Overall I think we will be back, hoping that they work on those two improvements! read more

"Some of the best Sushi" Service is always great, sometimes it can get a little crowded with all the UCDavis students. We have tried many sushi places but always come back to (I Love Sushi) The tiramisu is an amazing dessert. read more

Been here couple times before and quality really went downhill. One of the older waitress was hella rude, not the one that always work there, but the other one that looked like she's in her 40-50s. Told her that the fish was fishy and there's bone in it and she said she will charge extra if I don't finish the food, which was only five pieces salmon and one California roll that is stale as hell. Tips are included by the way so there's no repercussion of any kind for poor service. Would never recommend or come back. Going to other platform to spread the words now. read more

My partner and I decided to try out this restaurant for the first time. We were greeted and we told the hostess that we were ordering the food out. About less than a minute, the hostess came back and asked us what we wanted to order. We told her we needed another minute. Then about 30 seconds later, the hostess came back waiting for us to order. We felt rushed and she kept hovering while we were trying to decide. We also overheard her talking under her breath in Mandarin or Cantonese - service was subpar. The food was mediocre and overpriced. We will not be returning. We can't speak to the ambiance because we didn't stay to eat. read more

The quality of the food is kind of hit or miss. The first time I came, it was fine so I came back. When I came back fish was noticeably worse and some appetizers tasted a it old. Miso soup was still surprisingly good though. Not too sweet or salty. Don't think I will come back. read more

I gotta say the atmosphere of this place is such a vibe. It feels homey yet elegant without being super expensive. I LOVE LLOVE LOVE the baked mussels MMMM got me feelin some typa way fr. The servers here are also super cute and friendly, our server walked by our table frequently to ask if everything was satisfactory. Also they apparently dump ice into the urinals here, it was sooo fun to melt all of it away before my bladder emptied. Haven't felt that kind of fun and whimsy in a fat minute. Would definitely recommend this place if you're passing through Fresno!! read more

For context I did not know this was an all you can eat sushi joint lol needless to say the Miso Soup and Wontons were really good. The sushi rolls were also solid. From start to finish, an experience worth coming back for; this will not be our last time here. We are making this our go to Japanese spot in Davis moving forward. My fam LOVES sushi and they never have it with me because of the limited vegan/vegetarian options. Despite the mixed reviews, decided to give it a whirl because I did see things I can have and wanted to make it a special date for my fam. On several reviews the top complaints referenced terrible service and dry, tasteless food. Both I can dispute based on my experience. Wendy and her team were so attentive, placed our order at 7:11 pm and was dining at 7:20! Nothing at all to complain about. We had the teriyaki chicken meal and an avocado salad, the house tea (green tea/rice blend) and a taste of their delicious coffee cake for dessert. Plenty of parking in the plaza lot. They have an outstanding all you can eat menu that we will try in the near future. read more

This place has potential. But a few of our items fell flat...the tempura was not as expected no flavor and just didn't hit. The tako sashimi was given with just all tentacles and no real white meat, very disappointing. The salmon sashimi wasn't up to par neither. It just tasted off and consistency wasn't right....perhaps we went on an off day. Service was ok, nothing spectacular. Ambiance was pretty. Hope this place gets better. All in all worth a try. read more

We absolutely love this restaurant. With our only complaint is service does take awhile however the staff is amazing at the same time. The sushi, is one of the best I've had in the Sacramento area. At times it reminds me of japans sushi when the rice melts in your mouth. To me that speaks volumes. I love this place will and have recommend to everyone to check it out. This is one of my go-to restaurants when I'm willing to spend a bit for a meal! All you can eat sushi that offers sashimi as part of their dinner menu?! How can you pass on that? Today I went for lunch tho so we couldn't get sashimi BUT their rolls & nigiri options are always rly good. We ordered the rainbow roll (6.8/10), king kong (10/10), and lemon salmon (9/10). We went ham on the nigiri salmon because it was rly good today. tuna nigiri tho... not so much. it was rly fishy and the texture today was a no-thank-you. Their miso soup was also rly solid & we tried their cream cheese wontons which was also rly good. Service here is pretty friendly. Our waitress today was rly kind and gave us dessert on the house (deep fried banana SO GOOD) for V-day. The restaurant itself is on the dimmer side so we wanted to sit by the window. It can get packed, but I like that it's a quieter restaurant that doesn't get too loud. Overall, always a really good experience and yummy food here. We spent about $60 for lunch ayce for 2 people. read more

I've came here a few times when I visit Davis. And I'd say if you're a fan of AYCE especially sashimi, this is your spot. I've definitely had fresher however for the price and if you're super hungry you can get your $ worth! Each sashimi is considered one order, so if you'd want 10 pieces you'd say 10 orders for etc. Worth a try if you're around the area. Every time I go it's not busy especially on a weekend for dinner. Ambiance does get pretty noisy though but overall would come here whenever I'm in town. read more

I usually order to-go from here. Finally had the chance to sit down and enjoy the sushi inside the restaurant. Here is my review of the following: Service: Arrived an hour before closing. Service wasn't the best; not sure if it was the time or what, but felt rushed by an older lady working there. Our food, however, came out timely. Quality of food: Amazing. No complaints whatsoever. Forgot what I had ordered but ordered their special of 4 rolls for I believe $50 or $55. When I asked for the check, the special wasn't reflected on the bill. It was an easy fix that the workers didn't mind doing. My only other complaint besides the service was that they didn't offer any rolls with scallops. read more

I barely leave any reviews because I am just nonchalant about a lot of things, but the service here is the worst! I came with my family and while we were ordering, the server kept telling us that if we cant finish, we will have to pay for surcharge fee. Mind you, not once, 4 times. My mom asked for extra ginger she told us we still had some. Food was mediocre, all rolls come with 8 pieces, which I think is weird specifically for AYCE, we could only try 3 kinds of rolls out of the whole menu. Anyway, ordered a spider roll, but only the ends had soft shell crabs in it, the rest was just rice, crab salad, and avocado. Lastly, while paying, the waitress made some comments that I thought were a little odd. She said "oh wow, I didn't expect you guys to finish", and "first time here?", which I thought was a little weird to say before we leave. read more

We came here due to convenience and tried the all you can eat lunch. The service was good, however I would not recommend eating any the nigiri, especially the saba. The rolls were better. for being only one of the only all you can eat in Yolo county is $35.95 for all you can eat dinner menu and it is an hour and a half dine in limit. Our go to dishes here are the sashimis, stuffed mushrooms, cream cheese wonton appetizers, and veggie tempura. For the rolls, we always love the Domo Arigato, 49ers roll, the Lincoln Hill roll, lion king roll Reggie man roll, you could never go wrong with any of these rules. They're all delicious. for sashimi, we always go for salmon, tuna, yellowfin, and albacore. staff always come around and check up on you often to ensure that you have everything you need food comes out pretty fast, but they can get busy at night for dinners because they do a lot of DoorDash. definitely a great place to take friends and family or a big group of dinner so you all can try a little bit of everything. read more

I've been coming here for quality AYCE ever since they opened a few years back and I've never been disappointed! I believe they're the only AYCE spot in Davis/a good chunk of Sac to offer sashimi for their AYCE. Their service has always been great, the sushi rolls are perfectly filling and not too heavy on the rice, and their sashimi slices are very thick and generous! Sure their prices have gone up over the years, but every place has increased prices now. The salmon here always tastes very fresh and never fishy, and they always do their best to get your food out very quick. There's a new price for dinner AYCE that includes sashimi, I believe around $33-$36 per person now. Additionally, for AYCE, they've begun adding an automatic 15% gratuity to your tab. They're very transparent about it and have always told me so that I don't double tip! I still find myself going despite the price because I love supporting my local Asian-owned small businesses, thanks to I Love Sushi for always delivering a great time! read more

I Love Sushi is my go-to spot for sushi to-go. My husband and I always order the "Party" which is your choice of any 4 rolls for $55. Definitely a good deal, especially compared to other sushi spots in the area. I love the convenience of ordering online and usually our order is ready in just 15-20 minutes. We came here about 4 years ago and marked it as one of our favorite all-you-can eat sushi spots. Maybe we just came on a bad day but everything was just kind of a disaster. We arrived at 7pm, 1 of the 2 servers working seemed to be in a bad mood, and the computer wasn't working properly. Our first round came out pretty quick, only 15 minutes after we ordered. Half the rolls were ok and the other half were soggy and melting on the plate. We had a Sakura roll that was completely soaking wet and wouldn't hold its form no matter how you placed it. It was almost like biting into a wet sponge. The second server didn't visit us til 8:17 so that's when we were able to order our second round. There was massive confusion over ordering Nigiri because our first server told us one order will have one piece. The photo on the menu shows two pieces per order. Our second server took our order but came back with 3 times more than we ordered because she believed it was 3 pieces per order. She took the plate back and the two servers agreed to have it at 2 pieces per order. Unfortunately, I won't be coming here again. Hopefully they were just having a bad day because I'd hate to think it's normally this rough. I only took photos of the dishes that came out nice. read more

I don't know where to begin with this restaurant, but I will definitely say the sushi quality is very poor. I am a huge sushi fanatic and have eaten at many sushi restaurants in the Bay Area! The quality of the salmon and eel were very, very gross. The crab was the worst imitation crab I have had. It's worse than Safeway!!! The best part is they forcefully add a 15% gratuity tip on allllll orders! This is quite ridiculous especially because the service was very mediocre, the only person who was on top of the service was the younger girl. Aside from that this place was very mediocre. I wouldn't recommend coming here. read more

I've been getting sushi here for years. The quality while not mind blowing is consistently decent. I never had any issues with the food or service. Not the worst! This place is definitely known for their AYCE sushi and sides (~$35) and I decided to opt out while a few people at our table got it. I ordered a jalapeño roll ( ~$16; it was just okay, probably won't get it again). Fish didn't taste super fresh and it took quite a while for it to come out. My main complaint has got to be the service. I understand they can get super busy, but it felt like they were neglecting costumers a bit. To start, the people who ordered AYCE at our tables received their entire first round of sides and rolls well before I received just one roll regularly. I'm pretty sure they were starting their second round by the time I got my food. I later asked for a side of spicy Mayo when the waiter came around, I waited around 15 minutes and didn't receive anything. Had to ask again once I was able to get his attention to which he finally brought it out. It was generally really difficult to get anyone's attention; but again I'll give them the benefit out of the doubt since it was quite busy. Overall, if you're not getting AYCE don't come here when it's busy or just in general if you're looking for super high quality sushi. read more

For the $30 plus person cost it was likely a good deal for the quality of the food. I say something was very salty and I like salt. Maybe the soy sauce? We asked for low sodium and it really helped afterwards. Service was like in Europe where a tip is "added" to the bill automatically. One waitress was good, the other waitress was distressed she had to wait on customers. Typical of the European tip included, "method" of business. Ambiance was average for a restaurant. There was an exceptionally entertaining animated television program displayed on a large-screen TV. I am not sure if it contributed to the overall atmosphere, but perhaps it did. read more

disappointing. a lot of our friends/yelp reviews led us to this place. we've tried all the sushi spots in davis and have come to the conclusion that this is the worst. immediately when we came in, it was pretty empty, but it took a while for us to get seated. we ordered sashimi, a few rolls, and their beef teriyaki (a diverse spread to test out the food) the sashimi had a weird fishy aftertaste (which those who know sashimi know that there should not be a fishy aftertaste). sashimi should bare minimum be fresh and this was not. the rolls were DENSELY packed with imitation crab and rice. the shrimp tempera was cold and soggy (no crisp whatsoever). our third round we decide to get udon and more of the beef teriyaki (mind you no sushi because it was garbage). it takes a good 20 MINUTES to get to us and the beef is weirdly cold??? this isn't even the worst part, we get our check with 15% GRATUITY INCLUDED. AND a section for EXTRA GRATUITY ON TOP OF THE MANDATORY (not well earned) GRATUITY. regardless, we would have tipped but the sheer fact that it is mandatory and at a set percentage is BAFFLING when their food and service is sub-par. the audacity is crazy. I Love Sushi more like I Love scams. Do better. read more
