I recently tried Shani Shack and I'm not even exaggerating when I say the food is so good. The wagyu steak is the star of the show. It's tender, flavorful, and honestly addictive. I genuinely can't stop myself from going back for it. I used to go for the all you can eat option, but if I'm being real, it's a little too expensive for what you get and not really worth it. I would definitely recommend just getting a medium or large wagyu instead. You still get that same amazing quality, but it feels like a much better value. One thing I really love is that they now let you make your own sauces on the side. That is such a great addition because you can customize each bite exactly how you like it, and it makes the whole experience even better. And I have to mention the wagyu fries. They are so good. It is hard to even explain, but they just hit the spot every single time. Crispy, flavorful, and the perfect side to go with the steak. Overall, this place is definitely worth trying if you are a wagyu fan. Great food, solid options, and something about it just keeps you coming back.

Shaun Shack in Davis a great choice for a warm and comforting hotpot style meal. I found their meat and veggies to be high quality and clean. In fact, the whole restaurant has a modern and clean feeling to it. You have the option of either creating your own hotpot or getting it in an all you can eat style. The best bang for your buck is definitely the AYCE, but if you're not that hungry, I like the fact that you can just create your own meal for a cheaper price. If you want other food items, Shabu Shack also offers up sizzling rice plates and appetizers. My wife got a sizzling rice plate and it was very tasty, but the sauce was a bit much towards the end. I also tried the chicken karaage and it came slightly over done. These were small missteps in an overall very good dining experience. My actual favorite thing I had at Shabu Shack was actually the lychee lemonade. It was a little pricey for what you get, but it was amazing.

After a long hike we were craving shabu. We arrived at a great time and seated right away. The staff service was super nice and friendly. He helped us get our food pretty quickly and always filled our table when it looked empty. The meats were good quality and it was delicious. I really liked the spicy broth. The restaurant was clean and the tables were roomy for all food.

We stopped by on our way back from Tahoe and were so surprised by the AYCE menu here! Usually the meat quality for AYCE is low when it comes to hot pot but this is probably the best one we've tried recently + the portion size was big to make it worth it. All the sides were fresh too and the service was fast. Cameron was a great server. I'd definitely come back here again. If they elevated their peanut sauce this place would be a 10/10 in Davis!!

Stopped by to visit during a rainy day and thought shabu would be a great dinner! Came around 7pm and there was no wait at all, we got seated right away and the server was really prompt and friendly! They were doing a special for a free appetizer with the purchase of the entree so we wanted to try one of the new chicken wings in addition to our usual serving of Wagyu and pork. Our food came out really quick and the servers always stopped by to check in on us. The quality of meat here is really good and i think this location is almost better than the Elk Grove one. Would definitely come back here if im ever in the area and craving hotpot.

Food: Everything we ordered was fresh and beautifully presented. The sashimi platter was high quality with a great variety, and you could really taste the freshness. The sushi roll was flavorful with a nice balance of textures, and the ramen had a rich, savory broth with just the right amount of spice. Even the drink was refreshing and well-made. Service: Service was good. Our server checked in on us regularly, made sure our waters were always refilled, and gave us enough space to enjoy our time without feeling rushed. Ambiance: The atmosphere was clean, modern, and cozy. It had a relaxed but slightly upscale feel. I was shocked when I walked in. We had mainly been focused on the food when choosing where to go and didn't pay much attention to the ambiance beforehand. But it's okay. It was a nice place. Perfect for catching up with a friend or even a casual date. The decor and lighting made it feel welcoming. Overall, it was a really enjoyable experience. Good food, attentive service, and a comfortable vibe. Definitely a place I'd come back to.

During my first visit ordering the Chirashi bowl, the cut of the sashimi was thicker and the bowl came with Uni. This second time around, I felt they skimped on the sashimi making the slices a lot thinner and the bowl didn't come with Uni. Yes, I was disappointed because I live 7 hours away and was looking forward to a similar experience from the first time I came. Consistency is key for me, so not sure I'd want to order the Chirashi bowl next time.

Can't believe it took me this long to write a review for My Burma. Long overdue. The food is excellent and I keep coming back. A few dishes worth calling out specifically: the Tea Leaf Salad, Sesame Chicken, Coconut Rice, and the Pad Thai. Haven't been able to get to anything else on return trips. One note if you're a heat seeker -- the Pad Thai doesn't get very spicy, even when requested. I like extreme heat, so factor that in accordingly. Most people will find it perfectly seasoned. On my last visit I tried the black rice pudding with ice cream. Don't skip it if dessert is on your radar. Dogs are welcome on the patio, which is a great perk. One thing to be aware of: the gate can be a little tricky to navigate -- something to keep in mind if you or anyone in your group has mobility challenges. My Burma has my business. Highly recommend.
