    Taiwanese supreme hot soup
    Katelynn V.

Love hot pot and the inside of this restaurant is so cute with their decoration! I came with a friend on Sunday around 3:30pm and it wasn't busy at all. There were lots of seating available and I love how big and wide their tables are. If you come during lunch time from 12-4pm you can get a free sweet tea! I got the green tea and it was yum! I got the Taiwanese supreme hot soup with the very spicy level but I could have gotten flaming spicy. It was spicy but definitely doable compared to the spicy levels at other hot pot restaurants like boiling point. Keep in mind to carefully read the description of what's in each hot pot because the Taiwanese supreme hot soup already comes with instant noodles in it. But you can choose another side for free and choose pick between rice or vermicelli. Of course I went with rice because I didn't want double noodles duh! It was a good portion and it was yummy and satisfying to sip on that hot broth. However, I will say that the broth was not as flavorful as boiling point or other one pot hot pot restaurants I've had which is my reason for giving it 4 instead of 5 stars. The customer service was great! The workers kept checking in on us to ask if we wanted more broth. I would come here again if I lived in Davis!

1/10/2026 Met up with some friends half way for lunch in Davis and we settled on Tasty Pot! Arrives at opening behind another group. Seated right away. Host helped explain each menu item. Most broth is a pork base soup and there are a few options when you choose large but lunch special was all pork base with exception for vegetarian healthy option which comes with a veggie broth. This made our decision easy so we all went with the seafood tasty pot option. We ordered 2 and decided to share. My friends shared theirs and my son and I shared ours. Each pop for lunch comes w/complimentary cup of green or black tea. We chose green tea and my son loved that it was sweetened. They provided those 2 beverages immediately. We had to ask for water a couple of times. We ordered apps to start chicken wings and curly fries seasoned with salt/pepper. They were out of stock on sweet potato fries. We also grabbed the fried fish roe balls. We weren't given plates or anything to share the apps. :( Curly Fries and fish roe balls came out first. Both were hot and yummy. The chicken wings were shocking in size. They were tiny! The size of your pinky! I never knew they could be this small. We finally received our water after I asked again for them after receiving apps. Our pots came out next and we were given 2 bowls. We had to ask for 2 more bowls so we can eat. You are given option of rice or vermicelli noodles, we both chose noodles. Tasty pot was filled with quite a bit of Napa cabbage. Flavor wise as ok. Our friends ordered medium and we orders mild but both didn't have any kick at all. We opted to pass on desserts so we can grab it elsewhere. Company was the best part of this meal! Service was spotty and ambiance was ok! They did come by and ask if we wanted more broth. We had to ask for extra napkins. If you want anything, make sure to ask for it. Parking wasn't too difficult. Most were 2 hour limits.

The prices were very reasonable for hotpot as I could easily get two portions from one order. Curry Flavor Hot Pot, Mild w/ Rice - 9/10 Good amount of spice and variety. I love the little pockets of flavor from the meat to the fish and vegetables. Would definitely get it again. Beef Sizzling, Mushroom, Udon - 7/10 The beef was well seasoned, but I would've liked more. The noodle quantity was also kind of low. Tastes very oniony.

Came here with a friend after craving some boiling point ( but there is none here :( ) and got the medium spice, beef hot pot with a side of dumplings. Thought the soup was OK because it was slightly watered down and was not spicy AT ALL for a second to highest spice level - I have low spice tolerance. The hot pot came with some beef, clams, vermicelli, varieties of fish tofu, bean curd, mushrooms, a tomato, a side of rice, lots of cabbage, and a corn slice (?). Towards the end of the soup, there was a lot of crumbs, likely the seasoning which was unappealing when sipping the soup (almost like a sandy texture). On the other hand, the sauces provided on the side: chili fermented soybean, soy garlic, and chili oil, were really good paired with the hot pot. On the other hand, the service was great. Staff was very attentive and came over a lot to ask about needs. My friend lost her fire mid way and the staff was very accommodating to restart the fire for her. the food also came out really quick!

This place is good, if you've never left Davis and tried other Tasty Pots first in Roseville. The ambiance here is not bad. The neon lights are definitely cool. Every wall should have neon lights! Service was not bad and our tasty pot and sizzle beef add on came out quick! They did not lose any of my order. Now for the actual food review! The Taiwan pot has ramen and is properly spiced. The Japan miso pot is cool bc there are crab legs. Both came out piping hot. And there is a lot of variety. The sizzle beef was ordered bc we wanted more meat and more rice. Also if you get rice instead of noodles for the sizzle beef, you'd get crunchy burnt rice from the teppan pan. 2 tasty pots and one sizzle beef was enough for 2 adults and two tweens. Though I think the Roseville one has more meat, flavor, and an attached boba store. Maybe that's why I liked the Roseville location so much bc if you buy tasty pot food and a boba, you'd get 10% off! Either way it's worth checking out. Above average B++

It's a cute hangout for a hotpot! The staff are nice and helpful. We got Beef Hot Soup and Japanese Miso Hot Soup! The presentation is so awesome with its Aztec-looking hot pot that you can turn off anytime. This gizmo keeps your soup hot throughout. The components in the soup are hefty-filling, delicious and yummy! The soup base is really good.

Not a shared hotpot in the traditional sense, but still worth a visit. Soups are ordered individually. Went with my friends and we each got something different: Thai curry broth, kimchi dumpling, beef, and Taiwanese style. All servings were generous and full of a variety of pork, seafood, and veggies. Only issue was that the booth seats were a bit low and the bowls were served on an elevated platform (so it was a bit hard to eat). Other than that the food itself was great! Taking my fam here when they visit.

Tasty Pot is one of my all time favorite hot pot places, I prefer how the pots and soups are already made. This location used to be Davis Sushi buffet way back in the day. Some people prefer their own hot pot because they don't like all of the meats and veggies in their soup that long and cooked but I personally like how tasty pot tastes. This location doesn't have small containers like other ones to make your sauces. We came here on Friday night flying back from the Sac airport upon closing. There are parking spots right up front but they also were turning people away right at closing and take out only. These bowls are shareable, I like to go for #1 Beef Hot Soup Medium with rice. I like to dip my meats and veggies in a combination of the hoisin and hot sauce. It was my parents first time so I got them healthy veggie hot soup, no spice. I wish I got them vermicelli as opposed to rice to give them more noodles. They were impressed with how they add more broth into the soup. My parents enjoyed it. My dad also got a flavored iced tea and my mom got a hot ginger lemon tea. We also ordered a side of sesame balls. The servers were pretty busy and it is a pretty tiny spot.

This tasty pot location is subpar. Broth is lacking flavor and super watery. I asked for medium and they basically gave no spice. Also NO TOMATO POT WHICH IS MY FAVE CRIESSSS (but it's okay haha). Service was fine and plenty of seating indoors. Good casual spot. But definitely prefer other locations imo.

The ambiance is nice and the servers were all very kind and helpful when we came in with a big party. As far as the food, there was a general consensus that the broths were unfortunately lacking in flavor. The portion size is really big though. Not one of us finished our whole meal. One of my friends got the sizzling plate and she really annoyed that! Overall it was a good experience but I do believe there are other places I'd prefer to go first.

Taiwanese style hot pot is always nice when the quality is good because you get a huge variety of protein and veggies in one bowl. It's very macro friendly for anyone who's eating healthy too. The vibe of this spot is very nice with the bar area and neon lights. Curry hot pot: B+ The broth was very good, actually has a strong enough curry flavor. Good portions, but I feel like it was too heavy on the fish cake items. They have soy sauce, garlic and miso to make your own sauce to dip meat in. This was great with the pork in my pot. Service was friendly, but I stopped by towards the end of the night so it was hard to get their attention since everyone was cleaning and putting things away. Overall though this is a good spot for hotpot if you're in the mood for it.

    Sizzling beef - mushroom

I've been to this place a couple of times now. When I'm craving hot pot or sizzling beef, this is the spot. It's almost end of September and the temperature is still in the 90s here in Davis. To me that's still too hot for a hot pot lol so I opted for the sizzling beef. I normally get the black pepper flavor but I decided to try the mushroom flavor. It's still nice and peppery but with a touch of mushroom (best of both worlds! Lol). The mushroom flavor is subtle. I actually highly recommend this flavor over the black pepper because I feel like you get both flavor with just the mushroom lol Also, I highly recommend flipping the beef right away when you get the plate so it cooks the raw part nicely. One time, it took me awhile to flip them and by the time I did, the plate was not as hot and the beef did not cook and was still a little raw (unless you like it that way). To me, the charred parts of the beef that touches the plate gives it a nice crisp. The servers were nice and attentive. They approached me twice to see if I was still doing good. The ambience is also nice. The place was clean. They have an astronaut theme and decor. It was not busy at all when I went there between 1-2pm (Mon-Fri). I would say half of the tables in the restaurant were occupied but still a good amount of tables were still available (~7 tables). Would definitely be back when the cravings hit!

I was very impressed with Tasty Pot in Davis! This is definitely one of the best hot pot places in town. Tasty Pot is a franchise with a few locations around the Sacramento area. I remember going to the Natomas location and really enjoying it. This one was no different. It has a great vibe with fun decorations that really suite a more college atmosphere. I loved the neon lights all around, and the place was bustling on the random weekday night that I stopped in. The main options at Tasty Pot are their hot pot soups and sizzling rice plates. The soups come in many different varieties. I have recently started to love the milk based soups as they have an amazing creamy taste to them. If you haven't given them a try I would highly recommend them for a new experience. Most of the different soups come with both meat and seafood, but if you're averse to either you can always customize what you'd like in them. For instance, I didn't want seafood in mine and my friend only wanted seafood in theirs. It wasn't a problem and the staff made it happen without an issues. The sizzling beef plate comes with a searing hot plate and uncooked beef. The beef cooks when you get it at your table. The dish is piping hot and fresh. I mean, how can it be any fresher than that? Combine that with their cheese and you have a savory dish that you won't want to stop eating. To round out the menu Tasty Pot Davis also has a variety of appetizers and specialty drink in house. It's a restaurant that I'd be down to go to any day of the week!

Service is odd but it works. There are touchscreens and there's also a regular cashier. "eat with love, happy wife happy life" Hope that doesn't offend you. Probably something lost in translation so relax with the sensitivity. Ambiance vibes were minimal because I think it's summer break. If it got much busier (which I'm fairly certain it will) there would be less space to move around, obviously, but I think folks would still pile in. Dumplings were tasty and one came with a dipping sauce. They appeared to have the array of umami sauces (salty-soy, sweet-chili, spicy-cock, bitter-vinegar) along with a shaker of paprika? Don't cry about the dishware. Paper bowls for everyone! I'm sure they had forks somewhere but we never saw them. "Tea won't be drunk, but the person will" HUH? Never tried those "Freshly Made Egg Waffle" things so figured, why not. Got some chocolate guys that look like oversized bubble wrap. Thought it'd be better. Now for the food: we ordered the passion grapefruit jasmine tea with aloe, beef noodle soup, the cold noodles with peanut sauce, and the pan fried dumpling. The drink was standard, though a little sweet for my liking. Next time we'll adjust the sweetness to be a little bit lower. The aloe was strangely very mushy and not very enjoyable. The cold noodles with peanut sauce were a little disappointing. I found it to be overwhelmingly, salty, though the rest of it tasted fine. I enjoyed the beef noodle soup more, especially once you added the pickled mustard greens. The noodle texture was not my favorite, but soup was pretty good and the beef was well cooked. Overall, it really itched that scratch and I was satisfied. Both noodle dishes were hefty. I went from a thin top to a medium weight sweater. We arrived in Davis I grabbed my jacket to pair with my sweater. Today was a day spent exploring Davis to see the California Conference for the Advancement of Ceramic Arts (CCACA). What a great Conference. We come each year for this Conference and explore Davis every time we are here. After exploring the first building of the show it was coming on time to eat. We looked around the current shopping center and my husband didn't see anything he was craving. He said we'll go more into town and look for a noodle place. He said he remembered one from our last visit, down one of the alleys. Walking up the street we saw a couple of advertisements. A sandwich board was on the sidewalk for Davis Noodle CIty, the exact place we were looking for. The little Noodle Shop in the alley. We weaved through the other businesses, past the dumpling restaurant, past the outdoor seating and to the front door of the Davis Noodle City Restaurant. The out door seating looked really welcoming, but it was chilly out so we opted for eating inside with the other table that was occupied. There were 3 parties eating outside when we arrived. When we walked inside we were greeted and told to take any table. We choose a table in the corner. The menus were under the glass table top, keeping it clean and easy to read. Each place setting had its own copy of the menu. After looking at the menu, remembering what was offered on the sandwich board in front, and cross referencing it with Yelp Reviews we started ordering. We opted for the Five Spice Beef Noodles, and I asked if that was a good option and she said it was their top seller. The Yelp Reviews were only ok for that dish, but I took our chances. The second dish we ordered was the Dan Dan Noodles She tried to upscale us to the one with vegetables, but that dish was a cold dish so we when for the standard Dan Dan Noodles. Both dishes came out quickly. The Dan Dan noodles were not spicy as I anticipated, which was good, I wasn't really looking for spicy. I liked the flavor and realized that if you mixed it up there is a sauce on the bottom that is really tasty. Dan Dan Noodles ($8.25 a steal) is a solid dish and I highly reccomend it. It's a great bowlful of noodles. If you are hopping for other ingredients you are out of luck, it's 100% noodles with a sprinkling of peanuts on top and a sauce on the bottom. The Five Spice Beef Noodle Soup ($12.75)was as described in the reviews. It comes with American Broccoli and carrots. The beef is so good it melts in your mouth. The broth is minimal and lacked flavor. I'd think that it's advertised as Five Spice that it would have more flavor. I don't reccomend it if you are looking for a strong flavor. If you are looking for great meat, that melts in your mouth, but is also a little fatty then you have the perfect dish. Both dishes came with fresh noodles, none of those dried and rehydrated noodles that some places serve. The noodles on both dishes were different and pleasant. I highly reccomend their fresh noodles. Customer service was good. She came to check up on us and was pleasant. Parking is street parking. And they have a bathroom on site that is clean and well stocked.

Stopped by with a couple of friends for lunch! We ordered calamari, the pan fried pork dumplings,…read moreand the kimchi pork dumplings. The calamari wasn't quite what we expected. It was pretty heavily battered and not too seasoned, but it wasn't bad. I think there is probably better calamari elsewhere. The dumplings were amazing though! Both came out piping hot. The fried ones had a nice crispy exterior and were super flavorful and juicy. The kimchi ones definitely had a kick, but were also juicy and delicious! We thoroughly enjoyed all of them and would recommend both to anyone in the mood for dumplings. The place itself has good seating options both inside and outside! I would highly recommend enjoying a meal outside on the patio on a nice weather day :)

I hate to say it because the workers are very friendly and I love hearing people speak Canto when I'm homesick. Very casual ambiance, might have a wait to be seated but they take a reasonable amount of time to get your food out after ordering. Have a few vegetarian options as well. It is conviently downtown unlike Yang Kee, but I still dont come back to here. I'm glad they've found their audience and seem to be doing well, though.
