WHY WE WENT HERE: - lunch/dinner THE LOOK (FROM THE OUTSIDE): - located in a plaza off Russell Blvd and in between Sycamore Ln and Anderson Rd - located in the same plaza as Trader Joe's THE LOOK (FROM THE INSIDE): - loved the Eiffel Tower - decent amount of seating (high chair, booth, and standalone tables and chairs) - ordered via kiosk - texted when your order is ready for pickup THE MENU: - Paris Banh Mi - French Patisserie - Specialty Beverages WHAT WE ORDERED: - Special Combination Baguette - Shredded Chicken Baguette THE TASTE: - Special Combination Baguette hit the spot for my friend - Shredded Chicken Baguette had too much pate, but it was fine CUSTOMER SERVICE: - minimal since we ordered through the kiosk and when we went to the counter to pick up our order it was sitting there in a bag

Came to Paris Banh Mi for a late afternoon meal after a day of exploring downtown Davis. This shop is located in a shopping plaza on the corner of a large open courtyard. It was a hub for college kids to hang out and chill after school. The inside is bright with lots of seating (inside and outside). Paris Banh Mi serves banh mi, but also pho, desserts, and boba drinks. We ordered via the kiosk and barely had any human contact except for when we picked up our food. The kiosk claims it will text you when the order is ready, but we waited pretty long outside and never received anything. My friend and I ordered: - Banh mi dac biet - This was well-stuffed with lots of pate. Maybe I'm deprived of banh mis around me, but this was really delicious. - Banh mi with chicken floss/shredded chicken - My friend said this was just aight. I asked for extra veggies on the side and noticed the pickled daikon and carrots were more on the sour side. Overall a decent banh mi spot but it doesn't hold a candle to Duc Huong.

Showed up on a rainy morning looking for something warm to eat. They were open a little earlier than their hours state and I headed in, ordered at the self serve kiosk, and sat down. There was nobody else inside, but it was comfortable and inviting, though the music was a little loud for 10 am. Something that I found interesting was that when I ordered, you could specify less/more cilantro and onions in your pho. I went with the standard amount, but appreciate the level of customization you can do. The food came out about 15 minutes after I ordered, which isn't too bad, but could have been faster given I was the only customer. It was flavorful and light, though a bit more cinnamon-forward than other pho places in town. Overall, it's a pretty standard place with standard prices. I would come back a little later in the day when they are more prepared for customers.

I came here at 9 pm (we thought they closed at 10). my brother and I ordered at the kiosk, but it froze so we ordered at the counter. I think the staff forgot or misunderstood because I received a lychee milk tea with 100 percent sugar instead of zero sugar. They were closing at 930 pm that night instead of 10 because of maintenance. We were not given boba straws with our drinks. Maybe we were supposed to get the straws ourselves so it could have been our own fault as well. When we remembered, we were already out the door and the door was locked. Luckily I had boba straws at home. I felt a little rushed. I also ordered the Nutella cheesecake. It was ok. The ambiance is modern. The AC was soooo cold. I'm sure I will appreciate that in the summer though! Haha. I will give them another chance and not come so late next time.

Another new food option at The Davis Collection! I was just passing by and happened to notice their grand opening. I quickly got in line for the kiosk and tried a few things from their menu. Oh, and there's a promotion for 10% off this weekend. I got the special combination but instead of the usual baguette, I tried it with a croissant. It was smaller than I thought, and I'm leaning toward preferring a traditional banh mi more. The steak pho with fresh noodles was decent, but nothing to rave about. Food took almost half an hour to come out, though I'm not sure whether it's because their kitchen and operations are still new. Overall, prices seem kind of high given what you can get around the Davis area.

TLDR: Spacious and modern spot with fast service, but the pho lacked depth and the meat quality was disappointing. Not my top pho choice in Davis. --------- I visited on their grand opening day when they were offering 10% off your order. Ordering is done through a kiosk, and the interior has a contemporary feel with lots of light colored design elements. The space itself is quite large, with plenty of indoor seating and an outdoor porch area, though the porch does not get much light. I ordered the special pho, which was priced at $18.95 before tax and tip. The food came out fairly quickly, and the portion size was generous. One thing to note is that you have to grab your own utensils, as they are not brought out with the food. Unfortunately, the pho broth lacked depth and richness, and I had to add quite a bit of sauce to boost the flavor. There were not enough sauce trays available, so I had to wait until someone else was finished using theirs. I also wished there was chili oil available to add some heat to the dish. The noodles themselves were fine, and there was a good amount of them. The meat, however, was quite tough, and the rib did not have much meat on it, which was disappointing given the price. Overall, I found this place a bit underwhelming, especially compared to other pho spots in Davis like Sit Lo Saigon. There is potential here, but the food needs improvement for me to choose this over other options in the area.

It's nice we have another chain that opened in Davis. More options. We walked in around noon on a Friday and it wasn't crowded. Maybe it was also because it was a long weekend so everyone could have been gone. Some reviews said the food took long to come out. Ours didn't this time. I ordered the meatball pho and my colleagues got some banh mis. The meatball pho was pretty good. The soup was flavorful. I think for what this place is and what they serve, it's pretty good. Viet coffee was good too. I really wanted to try the pate chaud, but next time. My colleagues said the banh mis were also pretty good. Overall, I would come back to try the other items on their menu.

I got myself a grilled pork sandwich and it quite authentic and filling. I asked for extra cilantro and less mayo, but I think they flipped those two. Atmosphere is nice and chill. Good music. Nice solid chairs. All in all it was pleasant and tasty. I'll likely be back.

Cute place and nice ambiance. They sell more than just vietnamese sandwiches (banh mi). I came in to try their banh mi only. I got the special combo on a baguette. You can choose 2 other types of bread. I asked for my bread to be toasted. I ordered takeout and don't live very far. I thought my sandwich was going to be warm when I got home. My bread had a nice crunch as if it was toasted but it was cold. It was a pretty big stuffed sandwich. I only ate half of it. The veggies taste fresh. The meats were good. I love pate in my banh mi and it was pretty good. Im glad to have a decent banh mi in Davis so I dont have to go to Sac. Now that I know their pate is good, I would like to try the pate chaud.

Came on the grand opening day (around 4pm) as they were offering 10% off the entire order. Tried the large pho with steak and jasmine green tea. There are options to sit outside or indoors which make great options for spring in Davis. The order took about 15 minutes to come out after ordering despite the amount of people in the restaurant. The broth was flavorful but the steak was a little chewy. Will come back to try the banh mis and other drinks (if I can ever find parking again).

Soft opening. So excited to try this place. Solid banh mi and Pho. Drinks were good! Nothing to write home about but it offers different selections than other Vietnamese places in town. It's by Calicraft. Mostly self service, order via a screen, prices reasonable, loved the efficiency! Food came out pretty quickly. Friendly service. Cafe ambience. Hope they expand the menu a little after soft opening. Great addition to the Davis Collection!

    shredded chicken banh mi

so yummy when you eat it right when it comes out, so fresh, filled with protein (recc the pork and chicken omgg) service great and place is nice clean and simple

    Special combination, 2.1.26.

There's a slight urine smell in main seating area. Hope they are able to isolate bathroom smells in the future, the door to floor gap is pretty big, and ventilation could be improved. The bathroom is scented enough to mask the smells while in it. Napkins aren't the right type for their dispenser. I got a classic Special Combination cold cut sandwich with no modifications , but felt it was light in too many regards: Light on pate, light on mayo, light on meat, and light on flavor. Balance was Veggie heavy. Not bad but not my preference. This is the second Paris Banh Mi I've tried and prefer the Elk Grove location.

We walked in and weren't sure if we sat ourselves or not. A server came out and showed us to a table with menus after a minute. It did take a little while for her to come back and take our order. We each ordered an XL bowl of phở ($18). I got the flank steak (tái) and she got the vegetarian (chay). The phở was delicious! The ratio of meat to noodles was appropriate. The add-ins (beansprouts, basil, lime and jalapeño slices) were the perfect amount for 2 bowls. We didn't eat the jalapeños, but we didn't leave anything else on the plate. I hate wasting food. I read that the service here is what is lacking. Our server came by twice to check on us, but didn't refill our glasses until I asked. She was the only one working the floor while we were there. It was busy enough that the noise level was high at times and then it lulled to just us talking. She didn't clear away our bowls and wasn't super attentive, but we didn't mind because we were catching up. As we were getting ready to leave, another worker came in, but the no one came out in the front for at least 10 minutes. One couple came in, sat down, looked at a menu and then left because no one even acknowledged them. Overall for us, we had a great experience. Food was yummy. Service was good for us since we didn't need much. Ambiance was elegant, but not. I'll be back for another bowl of phở.

Food (7/10) - I don't have much to comment on their food since there isn't much that's standou.t I think that it definitely will hit the craving if you're feeling it but there are definitely better options in Davis. I usually get the bun bo hue with extra noodles whenever I come. The broth is nice and salty but I think it lacks the depth of spice that a lot of good bun bo hue's have. It's dominated by the saltiness rather than the deep, rich spiciness. I think the $15 price is pretty decent for the bowl size but it's usually not enough for me. I have, at one point, eaten 2 extra noodles (my friend couldn't finish their extra order and gave it to me) so it's definitely not crazy big BUT it's decent. Service (5/10) - The service is overall fine but there are some bad experiences that definitely knock this place down points. I'll start with a good moment. It was quite entertaining/slightly impressive to hear our server relay our entire 8 tables order by memory. Now, onto the not so good things. They are relatively inattentive overall since they only have 1-2 servers to cover the entire floor. Often times, it takes a long time to get the attention of a server. The servers definitely also give the vibe of college students who aren't the happiest to be there. They're really low energy and just don't always give off the best vibes. Overall, my worst service experience here was regarding a plate of bean sprouts. It's pretty common for bean sprouts to pool water at the bottom of the plate; this is just how it is. However, this server brought over the plate of bean sprouts to my friend and just spilled the water in their lap and had absolutely no reaction to it. Maybe they just didn't notice (which I frankly think is hard to do since server's can usually tell when plates are tipping in their hands) but they just walked off without saying anything. Ambiance (6/10) - The lighting is just super dingy in here and it's dark inside. It looks like a standard restaurant otherwise. Overall, it's not a bad pho restaurant but it's also not even the best Vietnamese restaurant in Davis. Wouldn't super recommend; just pick one of the others.

Food took kind of long though, some of my friends waited over twenty minutes and not a lot of stuff came at the same time. We were like one of two patrons and the staff still forgot something. The ambiance was good though I think we were well taken care of and the interior is not too bad though cramped. Everything was a tad expensive but you can't really complain for the amount you get especially for noodles or rice.

We come each year for this Conference and explore Davis every time we are here. After exploring the first building of the show it was coming on time to eat. We looked around the current shopping center and my husband didn't see anything he was craving. He said we'll go more into town and look for a noodle place. He said he remembered one from our last visit, down one of the alleys. Walking up the street we saw a couple of advertisements. When we walked inside we were greeted and told to take any table. We choose a table in the corner. The menus were under the glass table top, keeping it clean and easy to read. Each place setting had its own copy of the menu. After looking at the menu, remembering what was offered on the sandwich board in front, and cross referencing it with Yelp Reviews we started ordering. We opted for the Five Spice Beef Noodles, and I asked if that was a good option and she said it was their top seller. The Yelp Reviews were only ok for that dish, but I took our chances. The second dish we ordered was the Dan Dan Noodles She tried to upscale us to the one with vegetables, but that dish was a cold dish so we when for the standard Dan Dan Noodles. Both dishes came out quickly. The Dan Dan noodles were not spicy as I anticipated, which was good, I wasn't really looking for spicy. I liked the flavor and realized that if you mixed it up there is a sauce on the bottom that is really tasty. Dan Dan Noodles ($8.25 a steal) is a solid dish and I highly reccomend it. It's a great bowlful of noodles. If you are hopping for other ingredients you are out of luck, it's 100% noodles with a sprinkling of peanuts on top and a sauce on the bottom. The Five Spice Beef Noodle Soup ($12.75)was as described in the reviews. It comes with American Broccoli and carrots. The beef is so good it melts in your mouth. The broth is minimal and lacked flavor. I'd think that it's advertised as Five Spice that it would have more flavor. I don't reccomend it if you are looking for a strong flavor. If you are looking for great meat, that melts in your mouth, but is also a little fatty then you have the perfect dish. Both dishes came with fresh noodles, none of those dried and rehydrated noodles that some places serve. The noodles on both dishes were different and pleasant. I highly reccomend their fresh noodles. Customer service was good. She came to check up on us and was pleasant. Parking is street parking. And they have a bathroom on site that is clean and well stocked.

I am usually a defender of these kinds of restaurants --- slightly below average rating due to poor…read moreservice is the mindset I try to approach them with. Unfortunately, this place has both bad service and food is not great. 2 stars for the price. Food (3/10) - I don't know how to describe it outside of the fact that it's just bland. I got the "Marco Polo noodles" which is just Chinese jia jiang mien. Let's start with the positives. I liked the noodle texture; it had a nice spring and were thick for a decent chew. Now, onto the bad. You could just tell that the noodles would be bland just by a look and smell. The smell of the bowl wasn't one of fragrant stir-fried pork but it actually smelled like starchy water. The sauce was super watery and had no flavor and I don't think there was even ground pork in the noodles. From what I could tell, it was some diced up mushroom and then black bean paste, without black bean flavor might I add. I had to add a GENEROUS amount of soy sauce and chili oil to make it taste decent. Honestly, I'd say it's pretty hard to mess up this dish as a whole and there's a lot of leeway on flavor but I have not tasted something that bland in a while. On the opposite end of the spectrum, we have the thai tea. This thing was so sweet that it was borderline undrinkable. I had to wait for the ice to melt in the drink before it was bearable and even then, it still left this residual sticky taste in my mouth. Also it's 4 dollars for canned thai tea; she grabbed it out the fridge. The only sort of saving grace of this restaurant is that it's relatively cheap. $12.50 for a good portion of noodles might convince me to go back(?) VERY BIG maybe though. I might want to try their soup noodles. Service (5/10) - It didn't really seem like she wanted me to be there. She kind of just sat behind the counter on her phone with an Airpod in the whole time. She was just on her phone the whole time and overall inattentive. When she was, she was just asking if I was ready to order (twice in the span of under 3-ish minutes). Ambiance (6/10) - Eh. It was just kinda weird. The lighting was dingy. Also didn't like how they left dirty tables around (clearly looked like they had been there for a while). Overall, probably wouldn't visit again. Might give it a second chance but food for price was pretty good. Unfortunately, bad food for good price is a no-go for me.
