My favorite restaurant in Davis. The quality of the food is great and the flavors are amazing. The servers are also sweet and occasionally check up on you. We stopped by Yeti during a walkabout around Davis while we were visiting some friends. We ordered some our standard metrics of Indian restaurants: chicken makhani, garlic naan, and samosas. It was all fine. The chicken was a brighter red than anticipated with a slightly sweet flavor (which my gf does not like but I do not mind). The garlic naan had a pungent garlic flavor and seemingly some other vegetable-resembling garnishes on it. The highlight were the samosas, which we not outstandingly flavorful, but were hot and had a lovely consistency (perfectly crisp on the outside, soft and nicely mixed on the inside). We were thinking of taking the food to go, but the outdoor seating was well spaced (in contrast to seating elsewhere in the downtown Davis area), so we sat down to eat. It had a casual and pleasant ambience, although it would have been nice if their restroom had been open. read more

As a student I don't get take out often but when I do, I have gotten it multiple times from Yeti. Their butter chicken just hits the spot every time and comes with enough rice. I think the portions are great too, always more than enough for me (like 2 servings for me). I've had the butter chicken several times and remember that one time it tasted noticeably different, like more of the spices? Might not be 100% consistent but it still has been pretty good every time. Mango lassi is also on the thinner side than most others I've had at home in SoCal but still delicious. read more

I'm so sorry for your my half eaten tray. But the portions are big and the Thali style, which means they add other things like Naan and dessert, was a total win. All the dishes were spiced well. I'm vegan and was overwhelmed with the options. Make sure to ask for your naan with no butter. Ask for the side of "hot sauce". Not sure what the name was but it was amazing so spicy and slightly tart. Like a good hot sauce. Only complaint is I live in Sacramento and will have to drive out here for this. This used to be my go-to spot when I was in university so of course I had to stop by when I was back in town. I took my friends here on our way to Tahoe just because I wanted to eat the chicken makhani. Upon arriving, we were seated right away outside- okay because it was a beautiful day. We ordered and the food came out accordingly. The chicken makhani tasted SO good! Momos and saag were delicious as well. One thing that was different is the pakora, I remember before they were smaller crispier pieces but now they are bigger. They were still crispy on the outside but the inside was somewhat soggy, something about the texture was runny. The salad was also basic but we just wanted some veggies. Overall really good experience, the service was excellent as well. Water check ups often even when we were outside and we lost a fork once and they were right there to replace it! read more

Really enjoyed my dinner here. I appreciated that the waitress leaves you alone and the food comes out quickly. The couple's special was a good deal, was able to try everything. This restaurant used to be my favorite, but it has gone downhill. I left town for a couple years and just recently came back. Eating at Yeti last night, I noticed the food was worse than I remembered. The flavors are less complex, the spice is less noticeable, and the food is almost bland. Not unappetizing, but not worth paying for. I thought I was going crazy. Digging through the reviews, I saw someone mention a change of ownership in 2022. I can only assume the new owners changed something about the cooking. My meal last night was far from the worst I've ever had, but it wasn't satisfactory. Yeti used to be my favorite restaurant in Davis, but the owners need to get things back on track. I loved this place and I want to see it thrive again! read more

The workers here are so patient and kind. They made sure to check in on us throughout our meal, and I just loved that so much! We never ordered at an Indian or a Nepalese/Himalayan restauraunt before, so we asked so many questions. We asked for recommendations, etc., and they were super patient with us. We got two curries that night. We were debating getting their Chicken Tikka Masala, but we wanted to try something new that night! We got the Lamb Curry and Chicken Mikhani. The food was great! I really liked the Chicken Mikhani though; it stole the show for me! The Lamb Curry was alright. I usually really like lamb, but something about the lamb didn't taste as great as I remember lamb tasting. But it was still okay! Just be aware that this restaurant is on the pricier side. I was expecting larger portions for the prices. Also, they only give you four pieces of naan, and if you want more, you have to order more. I love naan so much, and for the price, I thought they would give us some more... Regardless though, it was still good. I've had Yeti on my list of need to give it a try for a year or so...we usually drive from Vacaville to Napa to one of our favorites go-to's for momo's so we were hoping to find some place just as good but closer to home....Yeti in Davis did not disappoint! Had to send pic's to our adult 'kids' as we often do the Napa place together and we all love momo's! Will definitely be returning to Yeti Davis with them for a weekend lunch! The chicken makhani is their butter chicken, and the meat came out soft and tender. I got it medium spicy, but I couldn't really taste the spice for that, so I'll probably try spicy next time. Everything on the veggie combo platter was yummy. I really enjoyed the spicy chutney, so much so that I had to ask for me. The samosa was good, and the naan was soft and fluffy. The only thing I didn't like out of everything was ordered was the mango lassi. It wasn't sweet, and it tasted like there was ginger or turmeric added to it (?). We came here on a Sunday afternoon and it wasn't too busy at this restaurant. I've heard from several friends that this was a good restaurant so I had to try it out. We were kindly greeted by the server and the seating was pretty open. We ordered the Samosa for an appetizer. We also ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala, Tandoori Chicken, and Prawn Biryani. The Chicken Tikka Masala was good but I felt the portion and the amount of chicken was smaller than expected. The Tandoori Chicken was good as well but the portion was smaller than expected as well. The Prawn Biryani was good and the portion was decent. I can probably have them leave out the nuts the next time I order this dish.l. Overall, food and service was good but I felt the prices were a bit high for the portion of food of dishes. Been in Davis for 4 years and have only now tried this place for the first time! I ordered the lamb korma and intended to make it a full meal, but I don't think the waitress understood me and mistakenly thought I ordered the nepali samosas. Oh well. The food was still very tasty, and while the portion size for the a la carte entree looked a bit small, it was more than enough. Solid food here. I like it better than the other similar places in town because it tastes healthier. No cream, not a lot of oil. They put nuts and raisins in their biryani, which is a bit weird to me in texture but maybe it's a Nepalese thing. Service/food can be normal or super slow even with just a few dine in tables, lots of take out orders still likely from pandemic. Great job! We have celebrated many Davis milestones at Yeti. A first family meal with our student. Meeting the girlfriend. And now graduation. This time we had 9 in our party and decided to eat family style, sharing the dishes and ordering more as we are rather than a single order. The kitchen and waitstaff did a great job accommodating us. The food is terrific. Although you can get it spicy, they were able to reduce the heat for us. We tried the momo's for the first time. They are dumplings and served with a spicy sauce. They were very tasty. All of the dishes are served with rice and we ordered Nan to soak up the sauces. If you are looking for a good dinner with good service you will find it at Yeti. read more

I nearly swallowed a piece of cleaning wire in my chicken curry. I made an effort to be understanding and didn't ask them to remake the dish when I brought it to the staff's attention. They apologized and told me that they would offer a discount...which to my surprise came out to be a measly $4 off my total. This hardly compensates for how unsanitary this experience was. Considering how serious of a health risk this is, the lack of accommodation and professionalism makes it very clear that they don't see something like this as an issue. Not only was this "discount" insulting, but the way they handled the situation is honestly more disgusting than finding the trash in my food. read more

Hands down best Nepalese/Indian food around! This was my second visit, and I was afraid it wouldn't measure up to my first visit. Well, this visit proved that the old saying is true. "There's nothing to fear but fear itself!" This time we brought the kids. We started with momos (dumplings of a sort) that were absolutely scrumptious. The kids both ordered the kids' chicken tikka masala and they cleaned up their plates. My wife had lamb tikka masala, which she shared with me, the best tikka masala sauce I think I've ever had. I ordered lamb biryani (spicy); this dish is freakin' fabulous! I've never had biryani in a restaurant as tasty as this! I can't say enough about what great cooks are in the kitchen here! The only thing I can say could be improved is the heat level (spiciness, I mean). I asked for hot/spicy biryani and it definitely could have had a little more of a kick; but the flavours were so awesome I enjoyed it just as it was served. I will return! A little nondescript hole in the wall with amazing food - better than any Indian/Nepalese I've found in Sacramento and as good as those in San Francisco. My wife had eggplant and potato something with a tomato base and I had a lentil korma that was also amazing. Don't miss the heavenly basil garlic naan! The starters of Nepalese style samosa was moist, delicately flavored with perfectly cooked outside and not the least bit oily. A definite 5 stars for us here. read more
